Normally, The Roof is my favorite rooftop in LA. However, this last visit, the service was sorely lacking and completely off. This was especially awful, because of all days, it was my birthday.
Initially, I had a male server greet me as I was seated, then he completely disappeared. So I had to flag down a woman named Brittany, and ask her to take my order. She was in civilian clothing, so it doesn't appear that she was a waiter.
Then when my food came out, a completely different man delivered it to me. My initial waiter was no where to be found, again! 10 minutes later, I had to flag ANOTHER waiter down. There were about 4 different people that I was dealing with, none of which were my initial waiter. Then maybe 20 minutes later, the initial waiter reappeared.
There was no explanation as to why this was happening, why he disappeared for the entirety of my meal, and why it felt like a circus of musical chairs dealing with a million different people and having to flag people down for service.
Finally, after getting a to go box, AGAIN, a completely different woman brings it to me.
The entire experience felt unorganized, unprofessional and lacking.
It honestly left a bad taste in my mouth (pun intended), given that it was supposed to be such a special occasion, this entire experience ruined it for me.
I don't think I'll be returning to The Roof anytime soon, and it's a shame because I used to rave about this place to people, and recommended it any chance that I could, but no more.
