It’s rare in LA that you get it all:
The FOOD, VIBE, & SERVICE.
My 2 gfs took me to dinner, because I was moving out of state. 3 women deciding where to eat: Me (high expectations after growing up with 2 Cuban chefs), 1 gf (the one that will literally eat anything, anywhere), and the other gf (the one that gets a 5-1 vote when we ask our group of friends: Out of all of us, who is the most high maintenance? Let’s just say she was her only vote. lol
We walked in and were acknowledged immediately, greeted friendly, got checked in right away, all while feeling and being treated like a “regular”. We didn’t have to wait for 20 minutes just because they are too cool. I walked by this guy. I hope this name is right: Gideon. Black guy, bald head, with a beard and swagger at a 10.5. He complimented my fedora with a feather. We chatted for a bit. Super cool guy. Felt like a homie.
We sat down and he took care of us the whole night. I love when you get just the perfect amount of service. Usually, they either hover, come in when you’re crying, or abandon your table and you almost die of thirst. He read the room.
I cried, we laughed, they cried. It felt comfortable just being us in that special moment. It felt like we were eating in my dining room. I was leaving LA, without my ride or dies for the past 18 years! I’m so happy we all agreed on this place. This was my last restaurant meal in LA. Thank you for not messing it up..
Gideon, recommended the perfect dishes and pairings. We just went with it, and he steered us the right way. The fan favorite was the skirt steak. I always say, “If you can grill a medium skirt steak that is just as juicy and tender as a filet, you are a grill master. I’m a grill master. It’s an art, that takes time, and multiple, near death choking after eating dry leather steak. Knowing temperatures, textures, color, ingredients , and cookware is a learned skill. To me that means you know how to grill. 10 stars. It was delicious, juicy, tender. Perfect. The 2 of us that ate it, talked about it the next day. That good. Our other friend had the fish. Maybe a Bronzino? She also raved about hers.
Staff and service on point. Everyone just had a vibe. Stylish and sophisticated. Loved it. The atmosphere was a mix between swanky yet cozy with the perfect warmness and brightness of light. The lighting added to the mood vs being annoying.
Overall an amazing experience. There’s nothing I would have wanted better or different. I right reviews for the best & the atrocious. Places that leave lasting impressions and memories or restaurants you regret and forget you were ever there. I’m bummed that I didn’t go before. I’ll be back!
