6 of us went for Sunday lunch to celebrate our eldest turning 9. I can't fault our visit. We were made to feel very welcome. I took cake in for the birthday boy. Our youngest loved the kids menu and the birthday boy ate every last scrap of his roast dinner.
My mum had soup, two of us had pork belly and one breaded plaice to start. Every single one was packed with flavour and perfectly cooked.
We all had the roast beef. It was thinly sliced, soft, juicy and pink. The carrots and parsnips were roast beautifully as well as perfect roast potatoes and a fluffy Yorkshire pud. We cheekily asked for more gravy as it was so good. My youngest had the macaroni cheese, again it was perfectly cooked and bursting with flavour.
The wine list is excellent and there is a lovely selection of aperitifs.
We can't wait to have an occasion to return!
