Google
I share the same view as one other reviewer.. nothing here stood out as amazing. The demographic is older and I think the food is designed to match. Its drastically over seasoned. Why does tomato sauce taste like I am shaking a pepper shaker in my mouth? The servers were really nice, bread was good, and service from the kitchen shockingly slow. I was in a spot where i could see the servers before they entered the kitchen. They would often stand and gab before they brought out stuff to peoples tables. I saw standing there WITH SOMEONES CREDIT CARD FACING NUMBERS OUT INTO THE DINNING ROOM. That is super dangerous. If the servers are not passionate about their job it is because their boss or owner is not doing a good job

Google
My first time at Rose Villa although it has been open for almost a century. We stopped in for lunch and was not dissappointed. They have a decent menu selection. My salmon salad was very good. Friendly service and good food!

We were here tonight for the Wednesday’s Seafood dinners. Overall - dinner went well, the seafood was edible, not awful but not as good as we had hoped. The atmosphere was quaint, warm and friendly. Our waitress, Savannah was personable and knowledgeable about the menu & the restaurant! The homemade pies are a must!!! We look forward to coming back and enjoying the rest of the menu.

Google
The Rose Villa, at least the night we were there, has quite an elderly demographic. I think we were the only ones under 70, which there’s nothing wrong with, just sometimes isn’t the vibe everyone’s going for. The food was not too bad, but it wasn’t really anything to write home about either. My husband was really not into his steak, but my gnocchi was good. The bread served before the meal was good, too, and they kept it coming which is always nice. Our waitress was also very kind and accommodating.

Google
We went to the Villa last night for dinner. While we were there waiting for our food the power went out. I just want to thank Ryan our server in the bar for his amazing service throughout the the night. We were able to get our food and it was awesome. Ryan and Brandi did a great job during the power outage. We eat at the Villa fairly often, but the service last night during the power outage didn’t miss a beat. I look forward to going back on the nights Ryan works because he is a great server and just extraordinarily kind.

Google
Hands down best frog legs anywhere. The staff are amazing. We will soon all be on first name basis as I will be a regular from now on.

Google
Needs new deco in dining area. Windows would open it up. Our food was very tasteful but it arrived 45 min after we ordered. Cold. $19 for 1 small piece of walleye and baked potato. My lasagna had no meat, Alfredo was dry and we didn’t get bread with salad and meal. But I’ll give 1 more try.

Google
Generous portions, reasonable prices on well prepared meals. I was surprised beyond my expectations. The prime rib was great, among the best that I've tasted. The only downside is that my baked potato tasted reheated, but it was acceptable. The food was seasoned well. I don't have to reach for the salt and pepper. Our server Kim was attentive, but not overbearing. Another place worth adding to the hometown dining rotation.

Yelp
What a wonderful experience. The owner/bartender was incredibly friendly and explained each menu item and specialties Tara the server, had a smile, big enough to lighten up the whole restaurant, and was extremely helpful. I recommend this restaurant without any reservations. Excellent food, service, and experience.

Yelp
We had a good night at the Rose Villa. They only had three beers in tap; Stella, Thirsty Dog 12 Dogs and Reinquist Truth. Other than the draft beer selection it was great. Service was very good and we sat in the bar area. The food was hot and tasted great. There were clams, scallops, salmon and perch. I would not hesitate to go back.

Yelp
Best meal we've had in a long time. We did go late at 8:20pm. The food was delicious and staff was super friendly! Highly recommend

Yelp
Omg so much fun We had an evening of great food and even better with the music! Island doctor was playing and entertaining the crowd. Amazing evening, we are still talking about the fun
google avatar

Kent D.

Yelp
Unfortunately we were not impressed with the food here. There was a lot of fun from the bar that was spilling into the dining room which interfered with our dinner conversation. That may be your thing but we chose otherwise.

Yelp
The food was great and well-priced. Good comfortable atmosphere. The service was good and Alison took good care of us. The food came out quickly and was delicious.

Liam G.

Yelp
The best Italian food I've had in a while!! The chicken Parmesan was amazing! The atmosphere was very family like and very calming. The service was amazing! Morgan helped us out very much and was very polite! I would definitely recommend this place!

Yelp
Very personal service, not commercialized. I've been going there for the last five years.

Yelp
Based on the average 4-star reviews, we were disappointed. Our first time there. Service was great...no complaints there. But the food was just average. Lasagna was okay...decent taste but lacking in cheese & sauce. My wife's scallops over lobster risotto also average. And I'd swear the lobster wasn't lobster. Sorry to say we won't be back.

Yelp
First the service was great, Kudos Savanah. Spaghetti order was fine and chicken parm with side salad was good. White French dressing of choice. The dining room was ok and could use some updating.

Yelp
Stopped in for lunch while in the area. Judging by this guy, we figured we were in for a good meal. We, too, ate at the bar. Excellent, friendly service. I had one of their four choices of pierogis (cheese, onion, and jalapeño). My brother had a gigantic chicken wrap. Though it's an Italian restaurant, our distinctly non-Italian choices were quite good. I look forward to stopping there for an actual Italian dinner next time.

Yelp
Food used to be good but we usually pick up food and that service is very challenging. We stopped ordering when we were slighted our salads and desserts.

Yelp
We stopped in this evening after playing golf at Turkeyfoot. What a wonderful, pleasant, family atmosphere. The service was out of this world, everyone was happy and dang near joyful about being at work. I asked a little bit more about the history of the place. I was told that 46 years prior a husband said to his wife, we need to take a ride. When they got to this restaurant, he probably told her he bought it for her as a gift. It's my understanding that she makes virtually everything from scratch every day, including at least 15 kind of pie. We were too stuffed after a wonderful meal to even consider pie, however, we will definitely return. I wanna personally thank you for making the celebration of my son's 25th birthday and evening to remember.

Yelp
The food is good. However whoever took our order yesterday and then was there today to assist us to pick-up the food should not be working in customer service. Otherwise it would be 5 stars. Can't stress enough how nasty this woman is/was.

Yelp
I went there for lunch with my parents. The menu covers a lot of different tastes. The staff was attentive and our overall experience was positive. We will be back.
google avatar

Gary M.

Yelp
Within the last year or two, the restaurant has been acquired by new owners. They are attempting to bring about a slow change to making it a better more enjoyable, dining experience. Have heard from many friends that say the prime rib there is excellent. I cannot testify to this because I have not had it only going by hearsay.

Yelp
We stopped here looking for a place to eat, the menu and specials selection was fantastic, something for everyone. Everything tasted fantastic. Very unique place, old school but nice. Service was service was normal. All and all a great experience.

Robert S.

Yelp
We have eaten at Domenic's several times. Always good food and service. Priced very reasonably.

Yelp
Best Chicken Parm I've ever had! Fresh not frozen chicken breast battered and fried crispy on a bed of fresh tomato sauce and perfectly cooked spaghetti. My husband had the 7 pc fried shrimp dinner with French fries and he loved it. Great service and great food. We will be going back to try the Saturday Prime Rib special. Our bill was $40, very reasonable pricing.

Yelp
OK overall. The server was friendly. They had set tables apart given post COVID world we live in. The salads are somewhat basic -wish they had more veggies but given this is akron, oh and not a lot of vegetarians - we were happy that our preferences could be accommodated at this local place.

Yelp
Great vintage restaurant that's been around for decades Love the atmosphere in the bar and their prices are really reasonable. Nice menu and large portions. Had the lobster cakes and eggplant Parmesan. Our server was very pleasant, too. My favorite local bar for a chill vibe and a cocktail.

Yelp
Their chicken noodle soup is amazing, and all of their lunch specials are homemade and taste great. And the homemade pies are unbelievable

Jim P.

Yelp
My husband and I found this Italian restaurant while at the Akron VA. Their daily specials are wonderful, my husband's is bologna cheese and egg. They have homemade pies made by the previous owner every day. Beautiful setting on the lake.
google avatar

Yelp
Cool little intimate place. Really gives off the mom and pop type of atmosphere. Good food, best calamari in the portage lakes area.

Yelp
This places is nice!! They had nice bread to snack on while you were waiting. They had almost very thing on there menu. From seafood to pasta to red meat. The salad dressing was delicious and food was amazing as well. It's a cute little restaurant and the waiters and hostess were so sweet. Definitely recommend.

Yelp
Enjoyed the food here a couple of times during this week. Theresa, our Sunday afternoon waitress, was excellent. The salad dressings she recommended were awesome. We took pieces of pie home with us as the helpings left us quite full.

Yelp
I lived in a townhouse down the street from Rose Villa for 5 years. One evening during a snow storm when I couldn't get my car out of the driveway (loser landlord) I hoofed it to this restaurant in nearly a foot and a half of snow. This was my first visit and I was impressed with the friendliness of the staff. My husband and I opted for Rose Villa last weekend to watch the Ohio State game and grab an early dinner. We sat in the lounge which is dimly lit and cozy. While we were there a large party was in the adjacent room celebrating an older woman's birthday. The party room has french doors and TV sets (which I guess increases the likelihood of men attending any function). What struck me was the kindness and special service that the waitstaff extended to this party (and especially the "birthday girl" who was wheeled in in a wheel chair). I ordered red wine and my better-half ordered a seasonal beer. We shared spicy crab balls and steamed little neck clams for appetizers. Wow! The crab balls were akin to sauerkraut balls with an extra kick... delicious! For dinner I had the Octoberfest Sampler with keilbasa, sausage, sauerkraut, a potato pancake, schnitzel and (drum roll) - spaetzle! We are presently on a spaetzle kick in our house (which is not a slimming food.) Rose Villa's spaetzle did not dissapoint. I actually had to force myself to stop eating it so that my husband would have some left for his lunch the next day! Soooo good! My husband had the grilled Walley special, which he told me was just "okay" (he prefers it breaded). We did order pie for dessert (blueberry with extra whipped cream and peach). To top it off we got a visit from the owner. This is a warm, friendly, welcoming place with delicious food.

Yelp
Stopped there for my birthday with my wife an daughter and the food was amazing I mean everything was great. It is old school in the best way, I like old school, great service, great food prep and a great experience. Highly recommended. It's not a chain it is unique. Also had dinner there with my wife for our 20th anniversary, the food and service was the best ever.

Yelp
Stopped in for lunch today, meeting an old friend. Pouring down rain, there were few people having a late lunch. Today had a variety of specials. We all chose the AYCE fried perch with two sides. I had the creamy potato soup as a side, which was good but could have used a little more flavor. The perch was in 3 nice sized pieces, lightly breaded. Very flakey and tasty. As always, they offered about 8 different pie choices, homemade. I had Elderberry that was awesome. Service was quick and very friendly. She made a fresh pot of decaf for me to have with my pie.

David K.

Yelp
Really disappointed. Got takeout on a week night to take to a friend who only lives 3 minutes away, so food should still have been hot and fresh. I can only comment on my order, which was the fried seafood platter (one of my favorite meals). Scallops were tiny and mushy, crab cakes basically filler, shrimp ok but small and a bit soggy (but not a much as the scallops) as were the clam strips. Perch was not too bad, though, as were the home fries. Salad lettuce looked old (did not eat it). This was our first time there but probably our last. Heard good things about this place, so maybe I just got unlucky.

Yelp
First time ever being here. Interesting overall experience. First and foremost they were slammed both inside and with carryout. Tells ya it must be ok from the get go. We had a nice little corner table and our waitress was very good. She kept apologizing for the wait for everything but was no problem ever. We ordered stuffed banana peppers and crab balls to start. Banana peppers were good but could use to be better stuffed with the sausage. The crab balls were delicious. The bread is very excellent. Side salad was given plenty of dressing on the side. Had beet slices on the salad and the croutons which I am not a crouton fan at all were very buttery and good. May actually be homemade but didn't ask. We both got a seafood platter. One broiled and one fried. Let's start with the fried as seems where thats the problem was and I think it has to do with the batter for the scallops and the perch. Not good is all I will say. Wife loved the tater soup. Said it tasted like her grandma's. The broiled seafood platter was good, just think the cod could use to be better seasoned. Coleslaw was odd but ok. Tasted like a mixture of a vinegar and mayo based mix. Was told by a gentleman at the door that the chocolate pie was very good and it was amazing. Crust was killer which I love good crust on anything that requires a crust. Smooth. Yeah I could have ate both slices but since it was valentine's day I let the wife eat her own.

Yelp
Went for lunch because I needed a fish sandwich. They did not disappoint. Got the fish and fries on a hoagie bun. Both were really good. Fries were fresh an fish was the real deal.

Yelp
We had pasta and spaghetti here. The taste was really good. The best Italian food we had around Akron area.

Yelp
Our neighbor and her daughter invited us to this restaurant on 3/25. It's a nice place and the food was good. The bathrooms are clean, nicely tiled with cool glass sinks and a trough faucet I found to be a welcome change from the usual standard plumbing one finds in restaurant bathrooms. The decor, at least what there is of it, is sparse. I guess the owner just likes painted walls, simple window trim, a few framed posters and basic wood tables and chairs and wasn't really trying to re-create Italy in her dining rooms. There's a good amount of seating and plenty of room between tables. Based on my experience I would return but with the hope of not getting the same server, an elderly lady with a bit of an attitude who should consider what comments she makes to customers. I'm going to list a few things I did NOT like, in the hope that the owner will read this review and use it to make improvements. First, we were sat in the main dining area, and there was white paper all over the floor around a large table adjacent to us: straw wrappers, pieces of napkin, etc, and the entire time we were there, NO ONE attempted to pick it up. The staff just walked over it like it wasn't even there. I really do not like to eat my dinner while I have to stare at garbage on the floor. This could have been picked up in 3 seconds by anyone who worked there. Even the owner, an elderly lady dressed in red when we were there, acted like it didn't exist. PLEASE, you own a restaurant. People eat there. The floor should be kept clean. There should not be garbage on the floor when people are eating. Second, when someone orders the all-you-can-eat fish and you're the server, and you ask the customer if he/she would like more fish and the customer replies, yes, 4 pieces, DO NOT ASK THE CUSTOMER: OK, YOU CAN EAT 4 PIECES? It is not the server's place to ask the customer if he/she can eat the number of pieces he/she requested. It's the server's job to just bring the customer what he/she asked for and that is it. Just for doing this, I shaved money off the tip. I don't appreciate being treated like a 5-year-old when I am an adult and paying for the check. Watch yourselves, servers. Always be kind and treat people with respect. Third, there was a mishap with my baked potato that was actually kind of comical. The server brought sour cream and what I thought was butter but what was really tartar sauce for the fish. Without my glasses on, it looked like butter so I put it on my baked potato. Imagine my surprise. The owner did bring me another potato but did point out snidely that it was clear that it was tartar sauce because of some sort of specks in it. Ummm...NOT WITHOUT MY GLASSES ON, IT ISN'T. IT LOOKS LIKE BUTTER. But I thank the owner for her unnecessary snide comment. Maybe someday you'll make an innocent mistake and someone will respond to you in a similar manner. Lastly, service was OK, but often our server would disappear and we had to wait an unreasonable amount of time for her to get back to us for drink refills, napkins, even the check. It was semi-busy but not so busy that we had to wait as long as we did. I think if we had had another server, we would have seen her more -- and sooner. This restaurant has been around for a long time. Overall, I think it's a very decent place. I would go back but I think there is definitely room for improvement and they are all simple things. I would rate it 3.5 but I'll round up to 4 because we ordered the butterscotch pie to go and it was delicious.

Yelp
About a 4 1/2. Nice variety of fish and lots of other options. Their pike is what I remember from when I was a kid, 40+ years ago. Still excellent (fried), though the breading could use a bit of seasoning, or some lemon wedges on the side would help. Fries still good, side salads are okay. The perch is good, too, and the Alaska cod was well-received. Save room for pie--they have a dozen (or more) varieties, made in house. Today we had Dutch apple cherry walnut--not much to look at, but boy was it tasty!
google avatar

Yelp
Many of the items here are home made and it definitely shows. The Italian food is awesome, some of the best Alfredo sauce I have had. I always seem to get a steak here as it is one the only places that can cook it to perfection. They can make it with a demi glaze or blacken it to your liken. A hidden gem in the portage lakes with reasonable prices. Enjoy
google avatar

Tiffany P.

Yelp
My husband took me here for my birthday, and I was very disappointed. He chose it because he heard it had good fish. The fish was just meh. I was also annoyed that they did not have any type of rice for a side. All potato variations. The server was rude to us as well. She acted as though it was a bother to wait on us. The only thing that saved the meal was the banana cream pie. It was excellent.

Yelp
The villa what can I say? I love this place I only have had lunch here and always at the bar but it has wonderful service and a great menu Nothing fancy just good prepared food The Italian peppers are great so are the saurkraut balls I always get a hot ham and cheese on rye with raw onion It's not on the menu but if they have the ingrediates they'll make it TRY IT!

Yelp
I like this casual eatery in Portage Lakes. I've been here several times for lunches and early dinners The place is neat and clean, service is pleasant and efficient, and prices are right. Try the steak & cheese sub with mushrooms.

Joanna T.

Yelp
This place is one of my favorites. The owner literally makes everything homemade down to the whipped cream on her pies. They always bring it out hot and service is usually on point. I love the homemade mushroom soup and the veal Parmesan.

Jill C.

Yelp
Been here twice and both times we received excellent service and food. We finally found a restaurant close to home and very affordable prices. Thank you rose villa for caring about your customers

Liz W.

Yelp
Wonderful meals, service and atmosphere. They couldn't have done anything better. Loved the home made bread. Got to meet the baker!

Bill S.

Yelp
They give excellent service, well prepared food, good seating, reasonable pricing and generous portions. I will recommend it to my friends and family.

Tracey M.

Yelp
Had dinner here for the first time, ordered the Italian sampler, it was not bad. Need to try again with a different dish next time.

Yelp
Much better second experience. Attentive service. Very good food, had the baked walleye, nice an fresh. Small family run which makes it a nice quiet local spot
google avatar

Matt S.

Yelp
So, disclaimer, I've been coming here since I was probably 3 years old. I order one or two things on the menu -- fried perch or a chicken sandwich with pineapple and swiss. And the fries are good. The soup and pies are homemade. The staff is super friendly and attentive.

Yelp
Always enjoy, fresh fish and great steaks, service is always up to par, Great place for a simple date out or for a big party, they are always ready for anything
