Stunning waterfall views, gourmet fare, and chic rooms await.
"Housed in a converted textile factory in Beacon, this chic Hudson Valley hotel offers easy access to local art galleries like Dia Beacon, craft breweries, and artisanal shops. For a cozy stay, the penthouse suite features a circular soaking tub, a spa-like shower with two showerheads, and a private deck overlooking Fishkill Creek—ideal for couples seeking an affordable mini-moon within reach of the tri-state area." - Jordi Lippe-McGraw Jordi Lippe-McGraw Jordi Lippe-McGraw is a writer and editor covering travel, parenting, and wellness. "The Roundhouse should be your Beacon dinner spot. This fine dining restaurant is located in a very nice hotel, and every table has a view of the nearby creek and waterfall, whether you’re seated inside next to the floor-to-ceiling windows or on the patio. Park yourself outside under the string lights on a cool evening for maximum tourist-and-dog-watching, and order plates of deviled eggs and housemade pasta for a lovely dinner." - anne cruz, clare lagomarsino, keith hernandez, chanize thorpe

"The Roundhouse dining room is one of the few places in Beacon where you can dress up without feeling super silly. But the large patio is much more fun and casual, with couples listening to the serene waterfall sounds and families parked at a table with bowls of crispy brussels sprouts and a tablet playing Bluey. The juicy fried chicken sandwiches are great for recovering from hiking up Beacon’s Fire Tower Mountain, and refreshing cucumber cocktails are ideal for cooling off next to the creek. photo credit: Hudson Valley Illustrated" - Anne Cruz
"This former dye mill (now hotel) overlooks Beacon Falls, and boy are they gorgeous, particularly in the spring, summer, and fall from the seasonally open Patio Grill. (Mother Nature did good work on both the lighting and the water feature.) The menu changes all the time, and past hits have included a burger with smoked Gouda, fried shrimp with spicy mayo, and a pretty solid salad. Keep it simple and go for wine or beer on tap; cocktails are ambitious but don’t always hit the mark. This food isn’t going to blow your mind, nor will it break the bank: You’re here for that view." - Alex Van Buren, Andrea Whittle, Devra Ferst
