The Row Kitchen & Pub

We went on a Tuesday afternoon. Empty and relatively quiet. But there's plenty of room and a small stage for evening live music as well! The parking lot has free two hour parking for restaurant goers. The food was great, perfect portions, not to much not to little. The salmon was superb. So was the hot chicken french toast! Price point is off I'd say online. Says between 10-20 per person id real go with 15-30$ per person. The bathrooms were clean, though the ladies room scared the crap out of me the first time due to having a large painting of a person. Anyhow, super great place! And easy parking surprisingly for being right in downtown.

Pleasantly surprised. We went on a Friday night about 5:20. Only a few tables in the music area were taken so we got a great seat. It was mostly full by 6:30. The beverage selection was more than adequate, lots of choices. We shared the pork shank dinner, it was something new for me. It was one of the best meals I've had this year, anywhere. So tender and flavorful, with mashed potatoes, gravy, and veggies. My daughter had the brisket with coleslaw and greens. It was top notch and we're from KC so we know good brisket and coleslaw. It was smoked tender and had a great crispy edge. The live music started at 6PM and it was great. Savanah Benz was only 22 and so much fun, she took request. Weather was pleasant so they had the windows open which gave it a outdoor vibe.

Delicious hot chicken, great food, fried pickles, and fried green tomatoes. Drinks were delicious. Cole our waiter was awesome, very knowledgeable, just did not smile much. Live music was awesome. I would go back when visiting the city, for dinner, lunch, or just for the live music and drinks.

Great pub to hang out on Saturday for a rock’n burger, watch some games, listen to live music and have some local pints. We loved that the wedge dressing had a subtle little kick on the back end, the fried okra was just killer and the burgers did not disappoint at all…really great flavor in the beef. Iwe didn’t really there were three patties on it so I’m glad we were splitting and sharing as we went. Thick cut Fries were good but I would have preferred a little crispier, but that’s just me. We ate at the bar and had great service, and enjoyed the fresh air on a nice fall day.

We googled restaurants in the area and came upon this place. From the moment we walked into the door, it was GREAT service! The hostess at the stand was so upbeat and friendly! We had Cole A. as our waiter and he was VERY GOOD! We ordered Lemon Drop Martinis and Crown & Coke and both were so good! We got the Row Poppers for our appetizer and the Shrimp & Grits and Hot Chicken Sandwich for our meals. The Shrimp & Grits flavor was delicious but the roux was a tad too watery/runny. The Hot Chicken sandwich was really good with the No Mercy sauce! We will definitely come back when visiting the area again!!!!

Server and food was amazing! We loved it! Make sure to get the biscuit dressing, sweet potatoes, and grits. I can't say enough about this place. The atmosphere was perfect. It's not too loud. It's a cool vibe. We will return our next trip to Nashville.

Nice pub to grab a bite to eat. They had live music, but we chose to sit in the dining room where it was a bit quieter. I had the Row Burger. It was really good, with a fried green tomato and Pimento cheese. My friend has the Southern Cobb Salad. Don't scan the parking QR, when you get to the hostess desk, there is a QR for you to scan, which gives you free parking in their lot.

This is a really cute place midtown. The pickled veggie flight is amazing! Smoked meats are super tasty. The sweet potato skins are out of this world. I love the live music and how so many young performers get a chance! The openness of the place is refreshing. The only reason why I gave it four on the food was the wine was not great. Not a beer drinker here and just like a decent white wine in the summer. Otherwise, it’s a cute little spot with classic Nash food! And great music!

The past 3 times I have been to Nashville I have needed up eating here. Twice for breakfast and once for lunch. The most recent time was for lunch and I got a smash burger and fries. I really enjoyed this, the service was great and the food came out fast. The two times I ate breakfast here was also great.

If you are visiting or showing friends the area, I think the Row is a really great option to have the experience of listening to live music and eating food that is popular in Nashville like hot chicken, barbecue, and a variety of appetizers. I came with some friends on a Sunday night and we sat in the bar area (where there is live music). It was not very busy so we had very fast service and our food and drinks came quickly as well. My friends who have never been to Nashville tried the brisket, chicken fried chicken, and hot chicken and all really enjoyed it. I tried the pulled pork plate which came with a very large portion. We also started our meal with the biscuits and had drinks that we liked from the bar.

Ordered the chicken fried chicken. It was really good! It was a little shy on gravy only because the gravy was peppery good. I was in the process of requesting more gravy and I noticed the chicken was pretty raw in the middle. I mentioned it to the server and they took the plate away to fix. A short time later the manager came over to address the complaint and noted that I ate 1/2 of it... I acknowledged and said it was raw. He said he would take care of it, which I thanked him. I waited for the cooked food to return only to find he meant that he would discount the food. I just wanted it fixed not discounted. So sadly I sit here hungry. I don't know if that's a thing here and the service stopped. Just a little frustrated. Thanks Manager David for the shitty move. Don't F with a Karen. Yes I said it so ya'll don't have to. The music was great and I guess my diet starts today.

I was near Vanderbilt and stopped by here for a quick bite on my way through town. On an early afternoon, it was relatively quiet in here. I can see it being much more active at night, though. Unfortunately, my first-choice picks were unavailable when I tried to order. They have one of my favorite peanut butter milk stouts on the menu, but alas... it wasn't available. I also asked about the hash brown casserole, but they didn't have it at the time. Darn! I ended up ordering the deviled eggs five ways, the cheesy grits, and a glass of the Jackalope Maple. The food was good, not great, but filling - too filling, even. Nice servers, efficient service, decent ambiance. Expect sports games on the TVs and lots of eager watchers. The interior is pretty sizable and they have a covered patio with a bar near the stage area. There's a parking lot and street parking local to the place.

Visiting Nashville with my son, daughter-in-law and grandson, we were hoping for a local treasure slightly off the beaten path. What we found was a warm, welcoming server who greeted us as we were seated. What we didn't find was great Nashville hot chicken. Our medium was more like mild and hot more like medium. The hottest sauce had some genuine heat. The breast was deep fried, sauced and served with a layer of grease floating on top of the breast. The fries were limp. Clearly not straight from the fryer. I can't speak for the rest of the menu, but this specialty missed the mark.

It was a slow night at the Row so seating was quick and efficient. My server Daniel was very attentive and nice. Absolutely loved the brisket and slaw. I just wish the brisket were a little more warm. The flavor was delicious, the temperature was cold. But I was hungry so I devoured it. They Kentucky Bourbon Ale so that is a major plus for me as that's one of my favorite American beers. Ambiance is that of a classic Southern BBQ joint.

We stopped in here a couple times while visiting. Great music and friendly waitress. Very low key vibe and fun to just sit and enjoy the food and music. Definitely recommend.

The bartender was awesome. We sat in the enclosed patio/"outdoor area" and it was a cool vibe. The food was just ok, nothing to write home about.

Driver didn't knock so it set outside my door. For 10 min before the app updated. Ice cream was solid but the cobbler itself was a mushy mess. Over seasoned with mace and nutmeg.

We were greeted when we walked in. It wasn't too busy. We were able to get in and out in about 30-40 minutes. The live music was unexpected and she sounded great. The drinks were watered down like they needed to change the pop machine. My tomatoes weren't seasoned well. The biscuit was brick hard. It cut the roof of my mouth. I let the waiter know. He then apologized and said they knew the biscuits were hard. He could have his manager make some fresh ones but touched them all to see which on was the softest and that's what was available. My thing is, why are they purposely serving brick hard biscuits? That's wild. The fries were soggy. My daughter took a few bites of the burger before she was done.

This place is okay for a beer and some bar food. - friendly staff - reasonably priced - live music I went there for an early happy hour/ dinner with my wife. The food was okay and there wasn't any live music yet. I think arrive around 6:30 to have some entertainment.

Gosh man! Must stop! The breakfast here was amazing! Had a full pancake meal with eggs and bacon. The biscuits and jam were to die for! Definitely on my list every time we visit. Cute place also and close to downtown.

Service was great. The deviled eggs are a great appetizer. I liked the row poppers but my wife didn't like the maple glaze because she's not a fan of that. As for the chicken fried steak it was prepared well and was tender but neither of us was a fan of the country gravy as it had a tang that seemed like vinegar. I didn't get a picture of the Beignets but they were pretty tasty. We want to come back for brunch.

SOOOO GOOD!!!! you HAVE to get the Bacon Mac n Cheese, it was incredible. The Sweet Potato Skins were also so good

We went there to eat in the bar and listen to music. When we got there on. a SATURADAY night they said the bar area was closed for a private party. We had to eat in the dining room, no music and no atmosphere. The food was just ok (brisket). We also ordered some food to go, a burger and 2 orders of benignets. When we got back to the hotel there was only one order in the bag. Very big disappointment.

We ate dinner here on our first night in Nashville as it was across the street from our hotel. From the time we walked in every one was friendly and our server did a great job answering our questions about the food and some of the local beers I was curious about. The gal that was singing was good. She played a good mix of country and alternative rock. It made for a laid back atmosphere, especially since it was raining outside. My wife ordered the Nash burger and fries. She really liked them, and I agree, the bite I had was really good. I had the chicken fried chicken. It was good, I just felt it was small for the price. The next time we visit Nashville, we'd definitely eat here again.

Difficult to find restaurants still open on Christmas Typically Nashville bar designs inside Staff are very nice and it's dog friendly Ordered steak and egg for breakfast. Pretty small portion of steak ( very cheap so make sense) cooked to the right amount Gravy's kinda sweet to my taste Overall decent breakfast food

The service was good but honestly I was disappointed with the menu. I got the chicken fried angus steak, and was just okay. Also, I ordered a double Buffalo Trace and it was served in a standard short glass. I don't know about y'all, but I think good whiskey should be served in a high end bar glass. Just sayin. I won't go back; I do not recommend it either.

A good place to go to hear live country music in Nashville. I like it because the parking is free, it's easy to park, the entertainment is good and it's not so loud that you can't hear when you are trying to talk. I have not tried the food but it looked delicious and the servings were large!! The drinks are a little pricey but worth the money. There is also no cover charge!! It's in a good area and walkable to nearby hotels.

They have inside and outside seating ( on the patio), with live music. I don't know which was better the live music or food. Dylan John was amazing and his voice was so beautiful. The wait was long , on a Wednesday night. The atmosphere was nice and the crowd was interactive. I did the steak and fries and they were good. The fries were seasoned well, and the steak was good for a pub. If you're in Nashville and like live music I would give this place a shot. It's not as busy as the broadway strip.

All I can say is . . . Too Cool ! I found "The Row" while researching the best Country fried steak in Nashville. And Yes, I definitely think this place is in the running. I came back twice while in town because I loved it so much. The first time I had the Country fried steak and the second time I had a pulled pork scramble with country gravy and hash brown casserole. But that's just a part of what makes this place so fun. On my first visit, my server came and sat down in my booth and gave me some great background on the place. He was a hoot. The bar is open all day and you can get Anything. Craft beers, wine, mixed drinks and More. And believe me, lots of people are imbibing at 9 AM. It's a fantastic place to have breakfast, lunch, dinner, watch football, see live music, throw a bachelor party or just party your tail off. OR just grab a bite to eat. I definitely think The Row is a must see place while in the area. I have a strong suspicion that almost everything on the menu is as good as both of my breakfasts were. I can't wait to come back to Nashville AND you can be assured that I will be visiting The Row !

Came in Feb 23, 2024 to grab a bite while searching for a local hotel to stay at. The place itself is pretty eclectic, they've got indoor seating cafeteria style in one area, a covered semi outdoor seating area and bar (not actually outdoors but large windows open into the bar) and actual outdoor seating; it's a pretty cool place to chill. The bartender was a cool guy and can whip up a good cocktail quick. I ordered the Row Burger based on recommendations, and if you like pimento cheese you will love it; me, I'm not big on pimento cheese so I didn't enjoy it too much but it was still decent...again, if you're a pimento cheese lover the Row Burger is definitely a good choice. Meat was cooked perfect and all the ingredients were fresh and spot on. I also had the Row Poppers, and let me tell you those were GOOD! Hickory bacon with some kind of maple glaze and (yes) pimento all slapped up around the jalapeño, but what a great blend of ingredients. My buddy had the biscuits and jam and I tried one of those and they were stupid good, and I don't normally like biscuits with jam! The parking was ample and not too cramped, service was great, prices were very realistic for such a touristy area, and the location is great. Compared to some other similar places in the area this is definitely hands above most, hence the 5 stars. Thank you Row Kitchen staff!

I wanted to love it, I really did. This is like a restaurant that passed out and can't shake its hangover. Must have been amazing in its day! Today... Mediocre bar food. Zero music (not live, but no music even playing - Sunday brunch?!). Flies everywhere. The bottles on the table have flies nesting and laying eggs on the caps. The servers act like they are selling bus tickets not working in hospitality in Nashville. Sleepy dive that needs a bath and stereo. On the upside, they have a great marketer who publicizes the history of the joint - which has to be the only single reason you'd go here.

Came here for brunch with friends. We were a party of 7 and were seated at a large table with plenty of room for everyone. Nice country music theming and decor like a lot of the places in Nashville. This place is away from the broadway strip though and definitely not as touristy as some of the places over there. The menu is large and definitely southern style cooking. We got the beignets and bacon queso for appetizers and both were great. To drink, I had the Grand Mimosa which was drinkable but I wasn't really a fan. For my entree, I had the French toast which was amazing! It honestly was like eating a dessert. It was huge and I ate the whole thing because it was so good. I also got a side of bacon and it was cooked perfect. My husband got the BBQ hash skillet which he also enjoyed. Service was good. Price was about what you would expect for Nashville, on the pricier side but not unreasonable. I would definitely come here again.

Cool spot with live music (although I sat in the dining room for lunch as I had my underage son with me). Breakfast all day (son had the choco-chip pancakes). I had a tasty smash burger and I got to try a great local amber beer. The bourbon menu is good (better than some places I've seen) and I was able to try a pour of the Booker's Mighty Fine Batch (one I've been seeking). Bonus for me there! Decent prices for a restaurant in this area of Nashville. We walked here from our local hotel (so no review of parking). I'd definitely come back and try this spot again... would love to sit in the bar area, have a cold one, and listen to live, local music.

An outstanding breakfast this morning.Trevor provided excellent service for our table and we wanted for nothing. The steak was a perfect medium, scrambled eggs were fluffy, the biscuits and gravy were perfect and some of the best pancakes I've had. The restaurant is very cozy with pictures and stories of various country and western stars throughout the years. I highly recommend breakfast at The Row and am already looking forward to my next trip to Nashville.

I was so excited and did my review checks but the food was terrible. I loved the fried pickles but the chicken sandwiches had absolutely no flavor. We had ordered a mild and a hot sandwich, both had nothing!

I came here on my first night in Nashville. It was within a short walk of my hotel. Was initially leery of some of the lower Elite reviews, and the booth seat was super worn. However, everything turned out to be great. There was live music, and the artist was so good! The crowd was super fun (one gentleman in particular, who was quite a card!) My server was super sweet. My food and drinks came out so fast! I went with one of the mason jar cocktails, which had Nelson's Green Briar whiskey. The drink was strong, but good! I started with fried pickles, which were thin and crispy and perfectly paired with white BBQ sauce (loved that there was a full bottle in the condiment rack on the table, definitely needed extra!) For my main I got cornmeal catfish. I'm usually not a huge catfish fan, but this was cooked perfectly and I actually really enjoyed it! The batter was perfectly crispy and well seasoned, and the fish was moist. It came over a habanero cornbread pancake, which was a tad tough but very tasty. On the side there was fried okra which was pretty lukewarm and a tad bland, but not too bad. This was a great start to my Nashville trip and a lovely Southern meal. Five stars from me!

Listening to samantha howell!! First of all she was amazing. 100% will make it big one day. Its nice there are new artists performing every hour and each one with a different vibe. I feel like this place is super underrated! The mac and cheese was sooo creamy and cheesy I would eat it everyday if i could. My husband got the burger and it was juicy. If I wasn't full i wouldve ordered 10 more things. I forgot what they are called but almost like a deep fried jalapeño popper- GET THEM. I would ask without the maple syrup or on the side though, just as my preference. Theres parking at the restaurant but the whole area seems very walkable. Lots of bars around the area as well if you want a night cap after a big meal there. Our waitress was super kind and attentive till the end i was just waiting on a check. I think it started to get a little busy so she may have just gotten busy.

Oh my gosh! Their beer QUESO is amazing! I am still Dreaming about it! I will def make a stop back here when I am back in Nashville!

Came here with some co-workers before a conference. The service was great and the food was fantastic. We got there for an early lunch so it was still pretty slow there but started to pick up as it got closer to lunch time. I really enjoyed the hot chicken and french toast concept and the deviled eggs 5 ways was good enough to order a second helping! I would not hesitate to come here again and try some of their other food items when I back in Nashville again.

Our first meal In Nashville and damn it was good! Everything we tried was delicious. Our waiter Ben was helpful/friendly and gave out suggestions. I would recommend this place to everyone! Pictures honestly don't do justice.

Excellent food, drinks, and service. First visit here, and our server, Trevor, took great care of us. His recommendations were welcome, and we tried the fried green tomatoes for an appetizer, and Nashville Hot Chicken. I got the latter as a sandwich, and got it "HOT", which was the middle level of spiciness. The chicken was excellent, but I was sweating by the end of it. WHEW! My wife got the entree version which she enjoyed, but it was light on the coleslaw. We also had cocktails, and the house old fashioned was very good. Thanks to fellow Yelpers for this find! Cheers! We had a large party on Friday, 6/16/23 at 6:30 pm. They were very accommodating! Go for the live music! Service was great! Food was fine, but I wouldn't go just for the food. Here's what I tried: - Famous Fried Pickles ($9.99): I liked that they were thinly sliced long ways! Good, but not a must-order. - The Trip ($13.99): Way overpriced. The guacamole was the only thing I really liked. The pimento cheese was just kind of gross. I would only get the guacamole again, but they don't offer just that, based on the menu. - Classic Cheeseburger ($15.99): Good! I got the Ring of Fire Margarita ($12) and it was super delicious! I would go back for the live music!

Incredible chicken. Better than Hattie B's but that's just me. I enjoyed both but if I had to choose again I'd pick the Row. I liked the seating too and the live music experience.

Went on a recommendation from our hotel. The service was really good, but the food was outstanding. We all had burgers. The Bacon Mac and Cheese is absolutely amazing, as is the Row Burgers.

This was a really fun experience and our first time visiting the row. The live music was good and at a volume that you could still enjoy a conversation at the table. I really liked all the food and imagine the entire menu is good. It's a good alternative to listening to live music but without the bustle and crowd of broadway It would be an easy recommendation for a solo traveler who wants good food and music. Food was delicious! The dining room was packed and it looked like there was a private event in the bar, but nothing skipped a beat. The manager stopped by to check on us, and the other tables as well. Just a genuinely good experience!

The Row is a placed just steeped in history, from tales of bartabs paid by selling song rights (Friends in Low Places) to performers who've started here (Brooks and Dunn). The stage/bar area is great for catching singer songwriters doing both originals and innovative covers. Early in the week, aspiring songwriters from Belmont University pair up on stage to sing originals and it's usually amazing. The staff is the nicest, funniest, fastest bunch around from the door to the bussers. The bartenders are superb and personable. Day or night, just a blast whether it's Shelby Rae or Landon or Jake or whoever. A great staff. It's that rare place that's got a tourist vibe with the genuine feel of a locals hangout (unlike everywhere on that phony stretch of "Nashville" also known as lower Broadway save for Robert's Western World). I recently had the joy of working nearly a year nearby and was in a couple times a week, and I'd guess was in more than 100 times. So I'm raving about the place ... why four stars? I actually debated making it three stars. (Spoiler alert: I am a former chef. I've got some opinions about food.) The food is mind-bogglingly hit or miss. Let's start with the sides: Cheddar grits were the blandest, least cheesy grits I've ever eaten. Like-no salt (that's gonna be a theme). The snap peas: oily and no salt. The braised greens are likewise oily but at least tasty. The hash brown casserole is GREAT, onion forward and cheesy and delicious. But for $4,99 you get a Baskin Robbins small scoop of it. I mean it's POTATO fer chrissakes. Some of the entrees are just a mess. The ribeye (and yeah--it's not a steak joint but c'mon. Again NO salt or pepper and I actually didn't know ribeyes came 1/2" thin. The salmon is also a miss. The bland snap peas served with salmon drenched in maple bourbon sauce that needed (you guessed it!) salt at the least maybe some acid like a squeeze of lemon. When the best thing on the salmon plate is the mashed sweet potatoes (which are solid), well ... The BBQ is pretty good, probably enjoyed the chicken the most. Love brisket but one time it's what I expect: fatty and juicy and smoky/salty; and the next it's a chunk of overcooked pot roast. And then their "sauces" (not theirs but what they serve. Can't even remember the name because I'd never seek them out) are a whiff. The regular is sickening sweet, the hot is closer to an Asian sweet chili sauce, and the white BBQ is damn near ranch (comes with the fried green tomatoes and until my server asked how I liked the white BBQ i was certain it WAS ranch). (Oh--the fried green tomatoes are great, but like the hash brown casserole way overpriced. $12.00 and you get a very cute "upright taco"-style presentation with maybe half of one medium tomato. I've had fried green tomatoes for $8 that would feed two recently, a big messy plate of 'em.) Not a fan of the whole smash burger craze because in my world, there's three ways to order a burger (also applies to steak): rare, medium-rare, and DON'T ORDER A BURGER and it's near impossible to get the temp I like on a smash burger, but they're tasty enough. In a sentence: come for the amazing music and staff ... but eat first.

The drinks were good and the place was cool. The bartender was really nice, perfect for a quick stop to get out of the heat.

All I can say was it was just okay. Was very slow and lots of empty tables but they sat us right next to the kitchen. The greens were not good. Taste like vinegar and hot sauce. Meatloaf was decent and the chicken fried chicken was not dry. Not much flavor in the sides or stuffing. The bathrooms were disgusting and the staff were all just standing around playing on their phones. They were nice but not great service.

My husband and I came to The Row for dinner and were hoping to catch some live music. Overall, the food was the type of pub food you might expect - greasy and salty but with generous portions. We got the Cornmeal Catfish, which came with Chow chow, fried okra, remoulade, habanero corn cake. We also got the Row Burger which was a burger with peppadew pimento, Row sauce, fried green tomato, and chow chow. My favorite was the fried okra and the cornmeal catfish itself. The burger was a bit unremarkable. In terms of the live music - we were unfortunately seated in the dining area and I learnt after reading the reviews too late that the live music is only in the bar area. In fact, they close the door once it starts up so that you won't hear it in the dining room at all. So if you come for live music, make sure you're seated in the proper area!!

Perfect spot for a quick lunch. Loved the take here on Hot Chicken. The corn cake really rounded the dish. Great beer section.

Fantastic ambiance and service. Great place to go when you want the Nashville experience without getting gouged on pricing. They had love music when we were there. Get the biscuit appetizer. I got the shrimp and grits and was very impressed. The gravy was rich and carried the whole dish like it's supposed to. Will happily go back.

Service was friendly, speedy and attentive. Food was salty and yet greasy and just kind of leaving you wanting a glass of water. I figured so close to the downtown and Music Row the quality might not be the best. And yep.

It's a must-go-to-stop during trips to BNA. Live, local music, drinks and music. We love the Row.

Passing through Nashville only for one night and my husband found this spot through an online search. We were disappointed to find out their outdoor seating was covered. There was a reasonable wait time during our arrival but once we were seated I went to the bathroom prior to ordering. Unfortunately there was no soap and I notified my server upon sitting down when they took our drink order (and then went to my car for hand sanitizer). Kids meals don't include drinks so it was annoying to find out two lemonades were $7, the equivalent of buying a third kids meal. Food was yummy, but I only ate half my burger, which is unusual. At the end of the meal I went to wash my hands, because BBQ sauce and such, and there was still no soap. Yuck! Reaaaaallly grossed out at how many people, including staff, used that bathroom and didn't clean their hands. The lack of soap for that length of time is what makes this review 2 stars. Businesses get busy and don't stock the bathroom or know when things run out, I get that, but it should be prioritized when brought to their attention.
