Went for afternoon tea at this stunning building It looks amazing on social media but in person it was a tad bit underwhelming! Anyways it was still cool to visit, the lower level consists of stores around the edge then in the middle is Fortnum&Mason restaurant where you can have food / drinks at the bar or afternoon tea The tea was fine- simple so that explains the pricing but the staff were great The second level there is a sushi restaurant and bar Toilets could be a little cleaner

Afternoon tea at Fortnum and Mason. Very enjoyable and service good. Nice night before Xmas. Large choice of teas, stick with the Afternoon blend if you like your tea strong. Pastries good but scones a bit dry. Selection of designer shops ans also Fortnum and Mason shop selling expensive souvenirs.

Had dinner with a Virgin Experience and it was one of the best meals I've ever had. The food was delicious, the service was fantastic and the whole experience was absolutely wonderful. We will definitely be coming back

It's an exquisite and well-restored piece of history. Initally, the idea of an exchange came in 1562. When merchant Sir Thomas Gresham (1519-79) established it, Queen Elizabeth I (1533-1603) opened on 23 January 1571, and she granted it its 'Royal' title. The old structure had burned down twice. The current neoclassical style building was designed by Sir William Tite (1798-1873) in the 1840s. The long-term tenant was Lloyd's of London, an insurance market, for a century and a half. Now, the three-story-high, overarching glass dome provides the airy atrium with ample light, housing restaurants such as Fortnum & Mason, and high-end shops, including a Tiffany & Co. branch. Googling the oldest exchange, two answers turned up: ~ The Amsterdam Stock Exchange, founded in 1602 ~ The barter system was introduced by the Mesopotamian tribes around 6000 BC ... wondering why the London's Royal Exchange didn't make the list.

Beautiful Stock Exchange Building renovated as a luxury mall This is a great place to come and admire how you can re-invent and re-purpose sites. The Old Stock Exchange is now home to some iconic UK & International brands, like Fortnum & Mason, LV, etc. This is obviously a high class place but really nice to visit.

A small yet charming place ✨ Perfect for a quick visit and a cup of tea or coffee. The shops are limited, but the atmosphere feels classy, a lovely spot for a special day out. 🌸

What a building! The royal exchange is a beautiful historic building that has a combination of all wonderful shops/restaurants inside. It is pure elegance inside and you are left breathless. From jewellery shops including Tiffany and Co to the Fortnum and Mason restaurant it truely is a pleasure visiting here. A must if you’re in London.

If the façade of the building looks familiar, it's likely because (like many other buildings around the world) it was inspired by the design of the Pantheon in Rome. The Exchange gets its 'Royal' title after Queen Elizabeth I opened the original in 1571. an exchange building is generally utilized for telecommunications or foreign currency. However, as a commercial building, exchanges date back to at least the 13th century. The building is one of London's top luxury shopping locations, and visitors to the city should definitely add it to their list of places to visit. The stores at the Royal Exchange are hand-picked to elevate the elegance and class of the building. The beautifully designed courtyard also makes it difficult to resist spending a fair amount of time here.

The Royal Exchange was founded by English financier Thomas Gresham & Sir Richard Clough on the model of the Antwerp Bourse. Elizabeth I of England opened the market. in 1571. The original building burned down during the great fire and what is rebuild here in 1669. This market houses brokers, merchants, & merchandise.

Before our last day in London, we booked afternoon Tea for 5:30 pm and we asked the person on the phone if we are all good for afternoon tea at 5:30pm and the person confirmed it. Next day ( our last day which we really wanted to end with Afternoon tea ) we showed up and the lady told us, OH!! We stop afternoon tea at 4pm!!! We insisted that whoever booked the reservation told us we are good for afternoon tea !! Only thing she offered us was 20% discounts for dinner instead. We were so pissed since our last day in London ruined by an irresponsible person taking the reservation. Btw, they took us number and told us we will INVESTIGATE to see who did it and will call you ! And of course they never called us! So we ended up going to borough market and in a new restaurant called Agora. Loved it. to be honest in royal exchange it seems they don't want tourists with causal dress go and seat in their fancy space ! So book your table in advance and have they name of the person who is booking your table and also make sure you call them few times before you show up to double check if your name is in the list.

A grand location for planning your next big deal; that's what everyone around you is doing in any case. You'd best be suited and booted if you don't want to stick out like a sore thumb, and it's not the place for a cheap coffee. All that said, if you are correctly camoflaged, and wish to soak up some of the hubris, this is a pretty good spot to people watch. Staff are friendly and efficient too.

The cafe on the ground floor is a great meeting place during work, and the place feels amazingly light and airy considering it's bank in the middle of the city. Coffee, breakfast and light lunches look like the staples here, and there are some high-end fashion stores around the edges of the main lobby. Worth a visit if just for a quick coffee to soak up the atmosphere.

Apparently you do not need to be near a sea-side town to enjoy great fish and chips! Having passed the Royal Exchange a trillion times, I thought it was only for 'business men'. I was recommended by a colleague to take a friend who was visiting London. Had the best fish and chips I've had in the whole of the UK (and that is saying a lot). I now come regularly to meet friends after work either to eat, for cocktails (which are delicious) and drinks or just a coffee after work. Its a grand building, open space with high ceilings, a piece of London history. Prices are very reasonable. Would absolutely recommend.
