New Wine Bar RSRV Will Open in East Austin | Eater Austin

"Opening in March ahead of SXSW, this East Austin wine bar aims for a “prestigious but not pretentious” vibe that builds community around wine as storytelling. Founded by University of Texas friends Jeremy Hills, Ricky Soto, and Antonio Guevara, the project converts a former gas station into a cozy indoor–outdoor spot with garage doors that open in good weather, a tall copper fence, a centerpiece chandelier in the outdoor area, and a vintage gas pump repurposed as a wine tap. The menu will feature Old- and New-World wines by the glass and bottle, low- and non-alcoholic options, beers, and a small food selection of snacks, bites, charcuterie boards, and cheese plates. Planned programming includes live music, consideration of Moët & Chandon Champagne vending machines, and a second phase expansion adding more outdoor seating and a covered patio; the partners are also raising funds to open a speakeasy bar next door. Emphasis is on bridging the neighborhood’s history and its changes while offering an inviting, community-focused take on wine." - Nadia Chaudhury

This is quickly becoming one of my favorite wine spots in Austin! When I popped in yesterday, the bartender gave me a great recommendation for a glass of earthy red. The inside vibes are cozy (I’ll be back to sit on their big, shaded patio when the weather is nice) and the service is fantastic. Good spot for solo work and linking up with friends!

I had the pleasure of hosting a large Austin singles mixer at this venue. This venue was an absolute joy to work with. They were extremely professional when communicating, and quick when it came to receiving confirmation. They also went above and beyond in preparing for the event. They had heat warmers, wine specials, a food truck, etc. They made sure that the place was warm and cozy for my large group, which I was extremely appreciative of. My group really loved the venue. I would most definitely recommend this place for meetups and private events.

Still thinking about the amazing time we had here—such a gem in Austin with a vibe that truly transports you.✨ Crystal took care of us and gave such thoughtful, friendly service—she knew the menu like the back of her hand and made us feel so welcome. We were vibing to ‘90s throwbacks and house music thanks to the DJ, and the space is perfect whether you’re keeping it low-key or posted up in the intimate back room with a group. Their wine list spans South Africa, France, California, and more—and the wine flights are perfect if you’re still figuring out what your palate loves. 🍷 And the charcuterie board? Incredible. Huge thanks to @cheeseondecktx for the perfect balance of sweet + savory. So good paired with the wine. 📍Happy Hour: Sun–Fri 4–6pm ($8 house wine) 📍Reverse Happy Hour: Sun–Thurs 8–10pm Definitely recommend for a cozy date night or girls night—just go ahead and order that second glass. 🍷💫

I celebrated my birthday at this bar and had a great experience. The staff were very kind, attentive, and always willing to help with anything we needed. Communication was excellent. They responded very quickly to any questions or requests, which made everything much easier. I would definitely recommend this place for celebrating special occasions.

Edit: I returned a couple of weeks later in the evening and saw the entrance floor was cleaned. I had a much better experience with Nia. My guest and I were treated kindly. We enjoyed a bottle at the bar. This time we tried a charcuterie board. They come in cute boxes and appear to be made from a third party. There is a food truck in the front if you are hungry for more. After surveilling the property again, I think they would benefit from darker flooring and outdoor cushions because lighter colors require high upkeep. With a high traffic space of red wine drinkers, means you’ll need to act immediately to treat spills and prevent staining. It’s worth highlighting that the bathrooms are nice and clean though. Overall, this is still a good spot for a nice little date. This time, no DJ so just a playlist going in the stereos. They had it at a perfect volume so you can still have a comfortable conversation with the person next to you. Mr.Soto did his best to make my next visit better and I greatly appreciate that. It’s nice to see owners truly care about their business and want to maintain good standards. I have modified my rating and wish this business continued growth. —————— Came during the day, very low crowd. Not a problem but then it doesn’t make sense why it looked like a crowd trampled through from the nearest trail. Immediately upon walking in you’re met with a muddy floor. It looked like things weren’t cleaned from the night before or possibly the week before. Many missed spots on the inside as well. Seats were stained in outside patio and at the bar. It’s a shame because they have a nice layout and it’s well designed but kinda dirty. There were children there but they stayed outside and played corn hole or stayed with their family in the patio area. I personally think it’s weird to bring kids to a wine bar. This is more of an adult environment in my opinion but it seems like they allow them to be there. The bartender, Nicole, was unpleasant within the initial interaction with her. It nearly turned me away and made me leave. She was short and seemed like she didn’t want to be there or provide customer service. We got a bottle and it was placed in a holder with no ice to keep it chilled so not sure why it needed to go in there because it was heavy. The wine was okay. The bottle and glass prices are a bit steep. You can definitely get the same quality if not slightly better for less at other places. We were told they were out of charcuterie boards although we could see meats and other fixings in the fridge. I think if you get a bottle they can at least offer a small charcuterie board with it. The DJ (DJ Jim) was a saving grace. He was very good and played a mix of R&B songs which is reason we ended up staying. They could use a speaker outside to hear the music out there as well.

RSRV has the perfect lounge area for a night out to relax and enjoy some wine with friends or your partner. It really feels like a little getaway. I went during nighttime but during the day, I could imagine hanging out outside and enjoy the breeze!

Wow, what a gem! Tucked away in East Austin, this spot is a total vibe. From the moment you walk in, it feels like a chic hideout — upscale and effortlessly cool. Inside, it’s giving bougie in the best way with stunning decor and cozy corners perfect for sipping and socializing. Their wine selection? Chef’s kiss. Pair it with a loaded charcuterie board or something tasty from the on-site food truck, and you’re set. The outdoor area is spacious and inviting — ideal for a fun night out with a group.

I had been dying to check this place out for months and it didn’t disappoint. The wine selection is thoughtfully curated and the ambiance is just perfect. They also recently introduced a charcuterie menu and everything was delicious. It was the perfect spot for a girls night and I will absolutely be returning soon. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Super cute wine bar in what I think is East Austin but don't take my word I'm directionally challenged. Great, chilled vibe with a DJ. We opted for a few glasses of wine but will definitely do a bottle next time as they are exact on pours If you're looking for a chilled place to have a glass or bottle of wine, give them a try.

Yelp
The wine bar in East Austin that feels like stepping into another world. If you're looking for a place that's not just about wine but also has a vibe that sweeps you off your feet, RSRV is the spot! The aesthetics here are just stunning--think cozy, chic, and a little magical. Every corner is Instagram-worthy The cheese board had some lovely accompaniments like fresh fruit and nuts that really elevate the whole experience. If you're in the mood for a chill evening with great wine and an amazing cheese board, you've got to check out RSRV. You'll leave with a smile, guaranteed!

Yelp
Food: there is none. So don't show up here hungry lol. This is the only reason I didn't give 5 stars. Apparently there is a food truck outside usually but he wasn't there because of the cold. I thought there was a decent selection of wine, of course my one visit can't determine that completely but I enjoyed what I had, and I tasted a few too. Service: no complaints here, good service. There was only one lady behind the bar and one of the owners was present both were kind. Ambiance: This place makes up for the no food with the ambiance. This space is such a treat. After work, to meet friends, a business meet up, blind date, or whatever the occasion this place will fit and feel good. There's music playing in the background I just had all the feels this gem passed the vibe check for certain! Make the time to sip wine, be fine, and spend that dime!

Yelp
My best friend and I were looking for a place to relax and enjoy some daytime wine tasting when we stumbled upon RSRV, and I am so glad we did! As soon as we walked in, we were amazed by the beautiful ambiance and decor of the space. We were immediately welcomed and seated by their host, who presented us with an array of wines. After we explained what we were in the mood for, she suggested the Pinot Noir from Willamette Valley, which I now highly recommend. We were also pleasantly surprised to find that they offered a mobile charcuterie board, which we couldn't pass up. The entire experience, from the inviting atmosphere to the great mix of music, makes this wine bar now one of my favorites in Austin!

Yelp
The RSRV is a fantastic wine bar if you're looking for a low key spot to chill with friends and incredible wine. I came on a Friday evening with a few friends and was able to catch the tail end of happy hour. Happy hour is $12 glasses and half off a $100 bottle minus the bangers. We shared a red Bourgogne to start. It was very light and yummy! I also loved how they served wine with a burgundy glass. Next we had a Bordeaux. WOW this one opened up nicely with a decanter. Background music is a mix of oldies and goodies. The servers are also very helpful if you can't decide. Highly recommend for a drink before or after dinner!

Yelp
This is such a cute and classy little wine bar. Great R&B music. Let's start with the good. I love the decor and huge outdoor space, the inside area is very cozy and small so be mindful of that. It is Black and brown owned which is awesome!! I ordered a cheese plate, glass of wine and the brought a bottle of wine. It was happy hour until 7pm and I came on a Thursday, so most glasses of wine were $12 per glass, wine bottles under $100 are 50% off another great steal! My complaint is I do not think I was provided the happy hour discount. Which really disturbed my night. As my total was over $100 so I'm thinking the cheese plate was at least $50 (which would not make sense) or I was overcharged. That really ruined my night. I only realized this once in my Uber home. The wine was fabulous and staff were knowledgeable, but did not check on us enough for my liking. There was only one girl working so I can't fault her too much. The cheese plate is pre packaged and NOT on the official menu. There's like 3 pieces of salami and 3 cheeses, I think the presentation could be so much better and the price should be noted or at least explained when ordered. I would give this spot another chance and I hope there's more attention to detail and better customer service.

Yelp
Worst bar in Austin , hands down Rather drink sewerage water from a third world Village then spend another second at this bar with its overly loud music, stupid priced drinks, and women who think they're dime pieces but are actually 3's on a good day

Yelp
So stylish and inviting atmosphere--the decor is modern yet cozy, making it the perfect spot to unwind. The wine selection is fantastic, with a great variety to suit any taste. Whether you're looking for a bold red or a crisp white, there's something special to enjoy. Highly recommend for a relaxed yet refined experience!

Yelp
this place is super cute + perfect for grabbing drinks with friends or a significant other. I visited for an event and while the inside was not large enough for all of the attendees, there was ample space on their patio/courtyard areas. I ordered a glass of Prosecco and a Blood Orange Margarita (listed at $18 + $17 on the event menu) but when I got my apple pay notification, my total was $25 for each! very pricey for prosecco, especially when the brand/fermenter is not listed. overall, very nice, picturesque spot. I will visit again but at night for a more sultry vibe.

Yelp
This place has become a weekly spot for me! Everyone there is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable with their large assortment of wines. Go in a few times and they'll treat you like familiar faced family. The atmosphere and vibe is awesome. They have a lovely indoors area, and a massive patio and deck with tons of rooms for outdoor activities. Solid wine bar on the east side, and definitely a place you should check out!

Yelp
Updates before and after visit in original review below! TLDR: super cute place, excellent vibes, a bit pricey. Parking could also be limited when busy. Would be great for dates/happy hours/nights out!

Yelp
I attended a Sip & Spritz event here a few weeks ago. I absolutely loved the classy vibe and decor. I appreciate the attention to detail and the curated wine list. I started off with a spritz and then moved on to wine. There is a food truck in the back of the building that offers grazing boards, salads and a few other options. I wish there was a QR menu for the food truck inside, that way you only have to make one trip to pick up. It was still a soft opening that day so it might have changed by now. The staff was polite and went above and beyond to make sure they left a good impression. I am looking forward going back.

Yelp
Went here the other day with a gf. Such a cute ambiance! Great wine selection. Took some lovely picture for the gram then enjoyed some yummy cheese and wine.

Yelp
Bottom line. I would avoid going to this place even though it looks nice. I was over charged and the establishment help themselves to a hefty $16 "tip" that I did not authorize. The owner will not do "the right thing" and issue a refund. The place looks nice but when they it's not worth it. Please read about my experience below. On Jan 27 2025 I visited this establishment with my wife. We order a bottle of wine at a cost of $60 and nothing else. I submitted my credit card to pay for the wine but was not given a receipt. I left thinking that the bill was but when I looked at my credit card bill a few days later I found an charge for $83.66. I called the next day and ask the owner to rectify the charges. He said that they had added a $16.24 tip to my bill and added $5.13 for tax. I told him that I had not authorized the tip and he said that he was going to remove it but it would take 3 to 5 business days for it to go through. I waited a week and it was still there. So I called him back an essentially got the same response. I called my credit card company to do a charge back and they gave me a temporary charge back but later rejected it because I did not have a receipt. Now it's March and the bill has not been settled. I called the owner back but he said he was busy and told me to call back in the morning. I intuition says that he is not going to refund the money they overcharged me. He has had ample time to do what is fair and right.

Yelp
Great first time experience! I enjoyed the Moscato DiAsti but wish their were more sweet wine options. The DJ was great for the cowboy event too. I look forward togoing back.

Yelp
I went with 6 girlfriends on their grand opening! The wine is excellent! Not cheap wine at all! We ordered bottles of Chardonnay, Champagne and Pinot Noir. All were good! The service was fast but very knowledgeable about the wines as well. The ambiance was a vibe even though it rained a bit, we still enjoyed and keep the party going. They even had music. There is a food truck that had a nice charcuterie board too! Try them out.

Yelp
I've been to the The RSRV on multiple occasions. I've always been met with kind and smiling faces who provide exceptional service. They have a good wine selection at fair prices complimented by a comfortable ambience inside and outside. Whenever there's a food truck be sure to grab something to eat, it's always amazing! I would definitely recommend to anyone who's looking for a fun night on the East Side.

Yelp
Eeek! I'd been watching this place on social media for awhile. I've attended some of the events they've had and each one has blown me away. Amazing vibes, beautiful crowd, top notch wines and awesome service. RSRV will definitely be the summer go to spot for my girlfriends and I.
