"Opened in January 2012 in the historic Audubon Building on Canal Street, this cheeky newcomer is a departure from the New Orleans hotel scene (which tends toward the traditional). Its motto, “Play Naughty, Sleep Saintly,” appropriately captures the property’s saucy, sultry vibe, especially in the bordello-like Burgundy Bar and in the five suites, added in 2014 and named after the archangels Christopher, Michael, Gabriel, Raphael, and Lucifer. By comparison, the restaurant, with its white walls and banquettes paired with antique chandeliers and local artwork, is more demure. Standard rooms are similarly minimalist—though without sacrificing comfort or any of the usual modern conveniences, including 46-inch flat-screen televisions and free Wi-Fi."
"A 166-room, $45-million renovation of the century-old Audubon Building, in the northwest corner of the French Quarter close to the Superdome. A bright medley of old and new. The Burgundy Bar is a study in bordello chic, with deep-red banquettes and Venetian plaster walls; the restaurant is bathed in white. Hand-painted murals of old New Orleans decorate the eight-story stairwell; minimalist modern guest rooms are plain but comfortable, with indigo ceilings and white-lacquered furniture."
The Best Spots for a Pre-Carnival Parade Bite on Canal Street
"Tempt is the breakfast, lunch and dinner joint in the sassy Saint Hotel, a handsome space facing Canal Street. The menu is kind of funny — everything is “wicked”; “sexy”; or an “aphrodisiac.” The burgers and sandwiches are tasty and the variety — from shrimp and grits to boudin balls and salads — gets the job done." - Beth D'Addono
Mario Batali Groped Fans While Posing for Photos, Several Women Allege - Eater NY
"A local dive bar in New Orleans where Sara Watson alleged Mario Batali touched her inappropriately, made inappropriate comments, and licked her face and ear." - Irene Plagianos
I liked this hotel. It was fine... good... but it was just off a bit. It feels like the lobby decor would have hit better in the 2010's. Everything just feels a bit tired: the room's carpet has a stain here and there; The bathroom metal/chrome is showing quite a bit of rust; the wood furniture is beginning to show wear and tear; Everything has a sort of musty smell that is being masked by pumped out hotel scents. There are serious good parts: The staff were wonderful; the location is really convenient to just about everything; the price was really affordable.

Really enjoyed our stay here. Very well located for all the delights of the French Quarter. The reception staff were attentive, welcoming and polite. Same for the valet staff. |A comfortable, clean room. |We had a room at the back - 302. Not a great view out of the window, but very quiet - being in a room away from Canal Street was a benefit.|The shower was THE best we'll ever had in a hotel, anywhere!

The guest services staff were surprisingly rude, which set the tone for a bad experience. The rooms felt incredibly cheap—stains everywhere, a mattress just a few inches thick, and everything was so dark I was honestly afraid to see what might be revealed with better lighting. It did not feel clean or comfortable at all. Definitely not a place I’d return to. Also, how is this and autograph hotel?

This place seems like a catfish moment. The pictures online look great, but the hotel is absolute trash. It almost seems like a spit in our faces, like we were stupid enough to fall for his scam.
This is an autograph… It honestly wouldn’t pass the low bar of a Motel 6: rust, mold, bugs, and the ultimate lack of care by the staff. Everything is dilapidated—like severely dilapidated. It's bad.
After the first night, you can tell it’s not the staff's fault but the owner's. The staff has been yelled at constantly about how horrible this hotel is, and you can tell the joy is sucked out of them.
The only person I found who has been so helpful and friendly is Felice. She was so lovely and helpful!
I know you are wondering if we are overreacting. Please trust me and do not book here. It’s horrible and disgusting. Go with the Marriott down the street.

First the good stuff ...... Location - excellent. welcome at check in - excellent. Rooms clean & tidy although one of our rooms smelt of smoke,|But there were some issues with housekeeping, we were completely missed one day and had to request clean towels etc but the oddest incident was on day 4 (we were there for 5 nights) housekeeping refused to make the bed as there were personal items on it !! |The personal items were my neatly folded PJ's, never encountered this before!!|The biggest issue for us was we had booked B&B with the breakfast being 'Continental' and to say we were disappointed ...... |Our continental breakfast consisted of a bottle of juice, a small orange & a small pastry. There was an option to buy your breakfast which we did on the first morning but wasn't good value at all.|So if you want a decent breakfast there's an IHOP a few doors down.|There isn't anything fundamentally wrong with this hotel, I just didn't like it !

Canal street runs perpendicular to both Royal and Bourbon street which made exploring the French Quarter a breeze from this location. We enjoyed grabbing Ruby's for breakfast which is literally next door.
The foyer is breathtaking with vaulted ceilings and beautiful decor. The Burgundy Bar was a great place to unwind for the night as we admired the three beautiful chandeliers in the bar. Seriously, so many chandeliers. We felt safe with the door locking after 9 pm, and staff were so sweet to greet us every time we walked in. Our room was everything we needed it to be: clean, cozy, and comfortable. Could not have enjoyed our stay more!

We went to this hotel as part of a package involving a cruise, so was booked for us by our travel agent. We found it an excellent hotel, our hotel room was clean, modern, spacious and nicely decorated, including leaving the the original outside wall brickwork on view was a nice touch. Good how the room had a coffee machine and well stocked mini-bar. Also in a good location not far from Bourbon Street etc. But the star turn was from Perry, the concierge, who helped massively to reassure me when we had accidentally left our travel documents in the taxi to the hotel, and he helped retrieve them; and also very kindly agreed to store our suitcases when we had come back from the cruise before we headed off to the airport. A lovely bit of old-fashioned service that unfortunately you don't see much of these days. So overall, highly recommended from a British couple visiting the US.

Would stay again! Unique hotel in a convenient location on Canal street. Walking distance to most activities and restaurants in the French Quarter and downtown area. Easy access to taxi's or Ubers if needed. The staff was all extremely helpful and polite. We were able to check in early and received a room in a the area of the hotel that I requested. Rooms and lobby were clean and well maintained. I have no complaints at all about this hotel.
