The Sala Pao Shop

BBQ pork steamed buns are the breakfast I never knew I needed in my life. Located in the Western CTA blue line station. Convenient to grab a few buns and a cup of coffee on the way to work. Limited, but well executed offerings.

I felt like I was at kiosk at a train station.... in Thailand. The little pork, chicken, and beef buns were flavorful and terrific. For breakfast or lunch, these are great. And they sell Asian drinks or hot coffee and meals on the go. Pricing is so reasonable also. Me and my wife loved it.

All I can say is "YUM!" Never knew this little shop was in the Western Blue Line train station until I stopped by the lobby to use their trashcan. I can highly recommend their BBQ pork buns and vanilla custard buns, which are pre-made and ready-to-go, but fresh-tasting. Both are super delicious. The bun part itself is soft and slightly sweet on both. They were $2.75 each, but you can get a trio for $7.50. We will definitely return to try more items off their menu. These are some seriously tasty buns.

Went here for the first time last night and came again today because it was just ~that~ good. Incredible food and service. Currently writing this review while enjoying the tofu coconut soup that is perfect on a snowy night. Looking forward to continuing to swing by after my commute home!

Fantastic place to grab a quick bite any time of day. From order to food takes less than 3-5 minutes. Do yourself a favor eat here, so many people rush by but they are missing a culinary gem. The chicken buns, dumplings, and Panang Chicken Curry Rice bowl are all personal favorites and they have even more than that. The owner of the place is a fantastically bright person, who brings light to everyone’s day, I’m excited to see what the future holds for them!

Passed by a thousand times and finally decided to stop on my way home. Bought almost every bun on the menu, which my boyfriend and I Loved- Especially the shumai and Basil Chicken buns. I also got a sample of the Panang Curry Rice Bowl which was tender and perfectly spiced. I will absolutely be back!

Best BBQ pork buns I've had in Chicago. Offers Thai tea and other refreshing drinks. Service is friendly and fast and they even offer a rewards program. Absolutely love them ❤️

Ever since they opened, I tried everything on the menu! Everything is delicious! Great customer service and they accomadate food likings for everyone who has diffirent taste buds! Fair prices 😊! Owners are super nice! By far my fav is the beef bun and the pork shumai bun with the egg inside and the chicken curry! They are to die for! If you want to taste a little bit of Thailand make sure to visit the shop! You won't regret it 🙏
