The Salon by Elba of New York

No words describe how thankful I am to have found Elba! You can tell she truly cares about giving you the haircut you want. After being without a haircut for a few years, due to trust issues, the first thing she asked was ‘what my biggest concern was with the previous haircuts I’ve had’. She made me feel involved and secure by explaining what she was doing and periodically checked in with me to make sure I was satisfied before moving on to the next step! I love my haircut and her hospitality made me feel like I was catching up with a friend.

I was so grateful to find Elba! She did a fantastic job on my hair, and her hospitality was amazing! Will definitely be going back again :)

This review is long overdue, I got my keratin over 2 weeks ago... Elba is amazing! Customer service is excellent. She's the sweetest, my only regret is not coming to her before. I'm usually very picky about who touches my hair and just from my first phone call with her I knew I could trust her. When I came in she checked the condition of my hair and made sure to keep it very real with me about what she would be doing (and the cost, which is very reasonable) and she trimmed my hair a bit since it was uneven. Elba is very careful and detailed when it comes to handling your hair and you can tell she loves what she does. The plus for me is that's she's from NYC like me and it's so hard to find people that are honest and real out here, but Elba is a gem. I love my the results of my keratin treatment and I love my haircut as well! Thank you Elba!

I don't know about you but I don't trust my hair to NOBODY. But there comes a time when your hair gets all crunchy at the ends...and it's totally unmanageable...so you need some help. So searching I went again for a talented hair stylist and OH MY GOODNESS. This woman is an angel, a goddess, a magician. She knows her stuff, makes you feel SO comfortable, and truly listens to her clients wants and needs, as well. After seeing her, my hair is long, soft, healthy, and absolutely beautiful. Which makes me feel like a true queen and I couldn't be more grateful to Elba. I hope she stays in Vegas forever, and if she moves I'll have to fly to see her. It's 100% that serious.

I'm so glad I found her on YELP! I had started off my messaging her on here regarding my hair type and the interest I had in a keratin treatment. My hair has been over processed and looked it, she was very friendly and informative. I'm naturally very shy and quiet but she was so easy to talk to and has reasonable prices. My hair looked a hot mess when I came in and ended up with beautiful strong shiny hair by the time I left. I wanted something simple, just a trim really but she did such an amazing job at making it look fabulous on me! I will absolutely be going back, and I don't even care about my hair that much! This review is long overdue, Elba is Fantastic! I came in as a walk in from her Great Yelp reviews to fix a previous stylist color. She took her time with the Consultation to be CLEAR as Exactly what I was going for. My new color came out beautiful, much more than I expected considering I didn't come in with a Good palette to work with. Elba is NOT scissor happy & only trimmed what we discussed, very precise long bob with subtle highlights. I was very happy & a month later booked the Keratin/Brazilian blowout to help the appearance/texture of my previously abused Hair! It left my hair soft & silky. The Boutique Salon is tucked away & nicely decorated is pink, bling & pictures of New York. The music selection also added to the good vibe. I felt very exclusive & VIP. Prices I think are average for Las Vegas, worth it!

Elba is so sweet, professional and warm. Her Keratin treatment is great but the real gem is Elba. Las Vegas needs more genuine, service oriented businesses like Elba's.

I have been going to Elba for 5 years for keratin treatments. My hair has grown so much. It's insane. When I first came to Elba, my hair was at my ears, now it's down my back. She knows my hair's weaknesses and strengths and has used that to my absolute advantage. I have ethnic hair. Which I love. But it's also a process to make my hair manageable everyday. Now, I'm able to literally take a shower, put leave-in conditioner in my hair, let my hair air dry for about 30 mins, and I have the most beautiful, long, wavy hair. And it's all mine! My mom finally took my advice and started seeing Elba about 4 months ago. In such a short time, her hair has completely stopped breaking and has grown at least 3 inches. I'll never go anywhere else.

On vacation from Australia and in desperate need of colour I booked in with Elba of NY in Vegas. I have to say i was so happy with the colour and service. I have a sensitive scalp and usually have a lot of irritation whilst my colour is processing and even through to the next day. The products she used didnt irritate or bother my scalp and covered my greys well. Her price was reasonable and special bonus Elba is a hoot and had me in stiches from laughter with all her stories. I don't know who Susanne is but I can tell you Elba the owner is absolutely the best! She listens to what you want and she gets it done. She is a lovely lovely woman. I love the fact that I can go and get what I want, and walk away happy. She is an excellent colorist. It is an awesome experience.

I have 3b/3c curly hair and was looking for a haircut and blow out before I flew out of Vegas to head to San Francisco. Elba accommodated me despite my appointment request being just a few days notice, and she even arrived early to ensure that she would get me out in time for my flight. I am from the NYC area and would not normally get my hair done outside of where I live because it never goes well. Elba did an INCREDIBLE job, and I would recommend her to any very curly haired ladies looking for a blow out. She was super fun to chat with and was so nice and concerned for my hair's wellbeing. This is an overdue review. I called Elba last minute because I wanted to color my hair but I was in Vegas on a business trip. After calling different places I went with my guts feeling to Elba. Something told me she was really good at what she does so I went for it. She remove a color I had tried without damaging my hair and then colored it to match my ends then she blow dry it straight. I was so happy with the end result. I was in Vegas rocking my beautiful long straight hair thanks to Elba. On top I found out that she is from my same country of Puerto Rico!!! Best in town!!!!

I am new to Vegas so it was very very overwhelming to find a new hairdresser. I did an extensive research on how I could find someone knowledgeable and professional to take care of my hair in Vegas. I always do a Brazilian blow out and I had a hairstylist in California who was amazing but I moved to the Midwest and I felt like the previous hairdresser did not listen to me and the treatment did not last. With Elba, she asked questions and she made sure I understood the difference between the Keratin treatment and the Brazilian one. She was a very good listener, accommodated my needs, very friendly and she knows her stuff. I feel really blessed that I found her in this city. Her prices are amazing and I will be back for sure. My hair is naturally frizzy and has a lot of volume. I am extremely happy with the Keratin treatment she offered and my haircut. Take care of Elba guys. She is a gem!!!!!

For those who have not gone to see Elba, please do yourselves a favor and GO!!!!! She made me at ease way before I walked in the door as we've communicated on the phone a few times. I had to change my original appointment and she was quite accommodating to my needs. Once I walked in she made me feel like I was family visiting town and offered me something to drink. I wanted to get my hair straightened and within 30-40 minutes of having an amazing conversation she was done. This included her washing, blow drying,and straightening my hair. I wished I could've stayed longer, but I had a show to go watch. May your higher power bless you with more amazing clients as you deserve it and then some.

I had a scheduled appointment this past Saturday. Elba made me look like a star. I paid for the wedding make up and hair do package. I never felt so glamorous in my life. Elba was friendly professional and kind. Thank you Elba for making me look so beautiful on my wedding day! I highly recommend Elba she is the best hair dresser in Las Vegas!

Elba deserves more stars than 5! Whoever you're considering to do your hair, stop and drive straight here. I've been to awful hairdressers here, and Elba gives me hope. She turned my unbelievably difficult chestnut brown hair into a beautiful ashy blonde. She is so personable and sweet, and hilarious! I end up staying longer than I anticipated just talking! I am sorry New York lost you but I am so happy Las Vegas found you! There's a reason why she has a higher rating than these designer salons on the strip... her raw talent and drive to give you exactly what you want. I absolute love Elba my new hair dresser. I usually very picky with my hair dresser. I never have one that really satisfied me. Today I decided to visit this salon I absolutely love it. Elba is amazing, she took time to get my hair done. Got a hair cut, partially highlight and get a keratin treatment at a reasonable price. My hair is beautiful after 3&1/2 hours there. Elba is very friendly with every client that I saw while waiting for my turn to get my hair done. It's raining outside she made a cup of hot tea while get my hair done. Will definitely recommended to my friend and family and will definitely will return again.

Amazing - Elba started with color, cut, and layers. With more volume this created a natural flirty flip. The second process Elba commenced was the "Keratin Hair Treatment" that repairs, conditions and strengthens. This look is especially great for smoothing the hair and the treatment left my hair with a super-sleek glossy finish. I WISH THERE WAS MORE THAN A 5 STAR I COULD GIVE ELBA! I recently moved to Vegas from Miami and been dying to get a keratin done. Ever since I have moved I have not found the right salon or pricing till now. I was able to purchase a Groupon for $68. SUPER AFORDABLE! Elba was an amazing stylist she catered to my every hair need. to think my hair is probably beyond damaged! (PINK AND PURPLE AIR SHORT BROKEN CURLY) but she was able to pretty much do a miracle! As well to say I'm a picky person with my hair not everyone can touch it. When I called to make an appointment she listened to my every need and question. As soon as we walked into the salon I felt like I was back home. Holiday music playing Christmas tree up for the holidays (ITS PURPLE MY FAVORITE COLOR). Once again this place is beyond amazing Funny Talented and I recommend everyone in the city of Las Vegas to go and try her out! WE WILL BE BACK!

Elba is absolutely amazing! I called her the day before and she was able to get me in the next day for a cut and blow out! I called the morning of to see if she could do my makeup for the evening as well and she said it was not a problem! I ended up running a little late and she said it was not a problem. I needed a little TLC before my conference and Elba was a great find. She offered practical advice for managing some of my hair issues, and quickly whipped up a hair color fix, gave me a nice cut, and cleaned up my eyebrows. She was moderately priced - not so cheap you'd suspect her quality, but not totally over-priced as expected in a tourist town. Overall, the quality was great and she's super sweet to boot. I'd be a regular if I lived in town - and would probably meet her regularly for drinks!

After living in Las Vegas for 4 years I can honestly say I have found my new hairstylist. Elba is awesome the moment I walked in she was so nice and friendly. She did a great job with my haircut I've have had many bad experiences in the past but she was able to fix my hair the way I wanted it she really took her time. This review is for Vanessa who works out of Elba's salon. Vanessa, a San Francisco native, is new to Las Vegas which is why so few reviews, but she is a Brazilian Keratin treatment and blowout specialist. Which means that is all she does, and she's very good at it. Her treatment is the real deal, from Brazil, unlike other concoctions which are imitations or American, making it cheaper in price but poorer quality and not lasting as long. My hair is typically very frizzy, and does what it wants, whenever it wants. After 30 minutes in a bit of humidity any blowout I do will be useless and it will start to kink up again. My hair looked silky smooth, shiny and healthy like it had years before I started messing with color, ombre and balayage. She is well worth the visit if you want to have gorgeous shiny silky hair, that doesnt need to be blown out or ironed to behave itself.

So happy that I found Elba on Yelp... close to my new home and down to earth. Elba is very personable and listened to what I wanted and nailed it. Hubby says best haircut in years! Very relaxed atmosphere, great conversation and tons of laughs. Would highly recommend her to anyone, one less worry - I found my gal!

I purchased a groupon with my friend for a Keratin worth $68.. The salon owner was able to accommodate us with an appointment time outside of the regular salon hours due to our time constraints. Her availability was open (unlike other salons on groupon that never have an open appointment for the next 5 months..) When we arrived the salon was warm and inviting. She treated us as she would treat guests at her own home. She was able to meet our specific needs based on our individual hair types (I ave thin bleached blonde hair and my friend has multi-colored thin curly hair) The keratin was one of the best keratins I've had at the cheapest price I've ever seen. She is friendly, fun, and obviously has talent! WE WILL BE BACK :)

I'm sooo glad I found this salon! Elba's very nice, easy to converse with, and she makes sure I'm happy with my haircut before I leave. She even told me that if I find that the cut is not working for me the next day, I can call her. Lucky for me, she cut it the way I wanted so, despite of my laziness in styling my hair, it still looks good :p
