Great food with a cozy atmosphere and absolutely charming staff. Got the French onion soup (divine) and yellowfin tuna wrap with Cajun fries (also divine). Definitely need to try their burger next time!

I heard parking is tough in Long Beach but I found a spot right across the street. I came here in a group on a Monday afternoon. We just laid a loved one to rest. The staff was very friendly. We were immediately greeted with a smile. The service was quick and they were on point. We had a large group and came for a luncheon before we departed for the day. It was served buffet style. It was organized and very tasty. I really liked the bar, I wish I drank, it looks like a cool place to hang out.

I haven't eaten here in many years and decided to go back and given a try. I was glad I did. The martini was strong and good. We had the pretzel bites which were hot and covered with melted butter and salt- very yummy. My significant others shared the Irish nachos( French fries ) and had the angus sliders. The burgers were good but a little over done . I had the Celtic shell steak. It was a little tough but cooked just the way I requested . The Cajun fries were very spicy. Music was good. The waitress was wonderful and checked on us often. Would totally recommend!

I recommend the outdoor seating area, which was green with plants and quite lovely. The brunch menu and small, about 6 items and they did not have jelly for the toast…nor did they ask a toast preference. The Bloody Mary (spicy) was ok. It needed Worcestershire and more frills (veggies). I wouldn’t recommend coming here for the Bloody. The pasta dish was fantastic with good amounts of sauce and large portions. The omelette was good, but the eggs were browned, which is not preferred. The ahi lettuce cups were wonderful…great sauces to accompany them. The service was fair. The menu was fairly pricy-$24 for ahi tuna salad. Nice outdoor space and good food overall. Also kids meals come with a dessert 🙃 Enjoy!

Their outside seating area for food is like walking into a hidden garden in the west end! The food was so good and very delicious. The tuna was so fresh for my meal and my friend had a shrimp salad, which she said was extremely good and flavorful! The service was perfect, no complaints here. We were able to pick out where we wanted to sit, which felt very accommodating, and honestly made our lunch date all the better. Definitely will be back again!

I well the place and ambiance was great. But don't ask your customer how you want the burger cooked and then bring out a black hockey puck!!! Waitress is a young girl So she doesn't know the difference between well or medium . Bacon was way over cooked and burnt . Quesadilla was dry and blend ZERO FLAVOR. This place might be ok for drunk or high customers but that's about to . Should a have went to try Cubana . Not coming back for sure .

Basic menu but food was decent. Our waitress was adorable, maybe 18-19. Said she was a local LB kid and had worked there for awhile since being a runner. Drinks were good. After dinner drinks and the bar were fu , locals at the bar very friendly and welcome. Same for the bartender. Bathroom ok, could be cleaner but it was decently busy.

The best food for a unexpecting place. Buffalo chicken nachos are on another level, as are all of their entrees.

I hosted a graduation party in the outside space . The service and food was outstanding. We all had a great time. Highly recommend for summer events

His attention to detail is unmatched--my glass was never empty, and he always seemed to anticipate my needs with a smile. The ambience of The Saloon is equally impressive, with its cozy and inviting atmosphere that enhances the overall experience. Phil's hospitality made my visit memorable and enjoyable. Nice choice for a casual lunch after a bike ride on Long Beach's spectacular and world class boardwalk. Some nice choices on the lunch menu, I enjoyed the fresh veggies and shrimp over linguini with a ginger soy sauce. Very nice atmosphere and outdoor patio with TV's for your favorite sports. Good beer selection. Solid 4 star for an enjoyable lunch.

Been here for some work happy hours. They have great outdoor seating, spacious, fun and awesome bartenders. The chicken sandwich was fire, one of the best I've had.

Stopped in for a casual dinner. The coconut shrimp was delicious, shrimp/avocado quesadilla yummy and the shrimp Cesar salad was great! Good atmosphere, great service. Would def recommend.

My friends and I went to the Saloon on Tuesday to finish off the first sunny day of the season, and we all really enjoyed it!! We're a bunch of 20 somethings who have all been here a bunch of times for little more than a Bud Light and a good time, but clearly we have been missing out on an awesome menu all this time. A little pricey for my liking, especially for a pub like atmosphere, but at least all the food held up in taste! Everyone cleared their plates, and left very satisfied!!

My favorite bar in Long Beach. Food is always great, bartenders are the best, and always a great and friendly crowd.

Stopped in for a late lunch on a Sunday. Huge outdoor seating patio with a great ambiance. We ordered a caprese grilled cheese, saloon grilled cheese and shrimp and avocado quesadilla. The sourdough bread on the grilled cheeses were a great touch, they were cooked to perfection. Also, the sweet patio fries were the best sweet patio fires I've ever had. Service was also great!

The Saloon is hands down my favorite restaurant. The atmosphere is amazing, the staff is accommodating, and the food is incredible. They have many food and drink options to choose from. In my experience, everything I have ordered has arrived fast and perfect. Also, I love the Saloon because there is always some kind of an event from live music to specials. These events are not only in the summer but the winter too. If you are ever in the west end I HIGHLY recommend you stop by The Saloon!!!

We came here a few times over the last month, not disappointed once. The coconut shrimp is AMAZING. I like the pretzel nuggets, and enjoyed the grilled salmon. The prices were reasonable. This is definitely on my list of places to eat at when on Long Beach. When my kid asked for grilled shrimp, even though it isn't on the menu, they made it and didn't charge some insane price, AND they were easy going about it which I appreciated.

Disappointed. Expensive bar food, mediocre preparation . Rare burgers served medium small portion, and supermarket chop meat 80/20 mix quality. Fish and chips served as a single fish fillet in soggy beer batter crust, (guessing frozen, food service sourced ) Fries served cold and burnt with burger and undercooked with fish and chips. Not the saloon food of old. Then the surprise credit card surcharge on the bill Service was friendly and helpful but doesn't make up for disappointing meal.

The food was mediocre, at best, which would've been more tolerable if they didn't accidentally put alcohol into my drink when I asked for a virgin - and triple checked - I literally asked 3 times if she's sure it's a virgin drink. I'm allergic to alcohol and this was a huge mistake, but they passed it off as no big deal - I didn't even have a manager approach me. Completely unacceptable on all fronts! HORRIBLE experience.

The hamburgers were great. My 8 year old niece ate all her food. Good customer service.

Food is overpriced and not well prepared. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very depressing. Would not recommend going here.

I don't live far and I am in Long Beach a few times a year to visit friends. This is our usual place to spot for a burger. It's a bar with outdoor seating which is awesome in the summer and nice weather. I've always eaten in the back where the tables are so when it's busy in the bar section, the noise and crowds don't get in the way. They have tons of TV's for Sports which is great. Staff has always been nice and friendly. I definitely recommend the burgers.

Came here for late lunch the other day. Luckily there wasn't a wait. We got seated right away and when we did we were told we can only stay here for 90 minutes which I get due to COVID guidelines but there wasn't anyone in there. The ambiance was so nice. I got shrimp tacos and sweet potato fries. Shrimp taco was good but was smothered with cheese you can barely see the shrimp. What I liked about afterwards was that the waitress came over and said you can stay longer if you want since no one was there.

We celebrated my daughter's birthday with her friends for dinner. The outside patio was decorated so nicely, the conversation was easy as the music was at a comfortable level and the food was delicious! The waitstaff was very attentive and even brought out a cake for us and served everyone graciously. So happy to be outdoors but under a well lit canopy enjoying a beautiful summer's night :) Thank you The Saloon is a great place for entertaining!!!

I am really conflicted about how to rate this place...read on and you decide. Came for dinner after the beach, drawn in by the live music, outdoor seating and immediate availability of table. Within minutes after seating, I knew they weren't getting 5 stars because the music was SO LOUD that at a small round table of 4, we could not carry on a conversation without shouting at each other. Seriously, why do musicians equate volume with quality? Waitress comes over for drink orders and at least 2 of us end up ordering by pointing. Drinks come and we order food, shouting and pointing. No apps, 4 entrees plus and order of onion rings to share all around. My salad with Grilled Shrimp was excellent and 2 of the others were happy with their dinners. The 4th was across the table and we couldn't communicate at all. After dinner, check is delivered and one of our party does some quick figuring, gives us our 50% split and we put the cash in the folder and tell our waitress no change needed. So far we have a solid 4 star experience, potentially 5 stars if we only could communicate. AND THEN IT HAPPENS! By now, the band (duo actually) is on break so conversation is possible. Our waitress approaches the table and asks how the service was. We all reply fine, good, etc. She says because the tip was not up to "their 20% level". Bottom line, we made a mistake, no doubt about it. But to show up, question us and imply that we are obligated to tip 20% was, IMHO, outrageous. So I've decided not to take another star off for that, but I know 4 people who will probably NOT return.

Disappointed in the behavior of the Saloon waitress Casey. A group of 12 friends chose the Saloon to have dinner together. We are adults ranging from 50-60 in age. We own homes in Long Beach and support our local restaurants all year round. We take turns choosing a spot for our weekly outings.. last night we were told we were annoying by our waitress Casey and not to return. A large group can be overwhelming. Orders were mixed up and a few incorrect. One person in our party received their meal after most of us ate. I accepted a meal that wasn't what I ordered after Casey insisted someone else in our party ordered that meal. We rolled with the mistakes yet Casey continued to be rude to us. I hope the owner sees this review and realizes that his staff represents his business. Based on our experience no matter if the food was good this particular staff member left a bad taste.

Horrible experience. Waitress Casey was absolutely rude to everyone in the party. Waited forever for food and drinks. No one complained and yet this Casey waitress continuously snapped at everyone for no reason. Hopefully the owners will realize the mistake they made in hiring someone who hates dealing with people. I'm sure she's going to drive customers away. We all live in town and cannot believe how she treated us.

We had another horrible experience at the saloon last night. Our waitress Casey did not get a lot of our order correct and was extremely nasty. She shouldn't be working in the service industry. In addition she went on to say that the group we were with shouldn't come back and that the owners are OK with that decision. We were a group of 12 people all in our mid 50's who have all lived in Long Beach for over 30 years, own our own houses here and have prominent ties to the community. in addition we all live within blocks of the Saloon and often put up with some unpleasant activity their. We all were so insulted and felt disrespected by her for the 2nd time in 2 month's. I hope the management recognizes that she is speaking on their behalf and that her behavior is uncalled for in an establishment like theirs. If this is the type of employee that they are hiring then it appears they are going more towards being just a bar. I will be very disappointed in the management if they continue to allow this kind of behavior.

Great dive bar feel with a big time menu, nice outdoor seating for warm weather. Had wings which were pretty good just not as crisp as I ordered. Burger was oustanding and cooked to perfection with an over easy egg. Will def be back!

They seated us here promising us unlimited mussels for $15 so we paid $30 only to be told we can't order anymore because the kitchen closes at 9:30. If we knew we would have never ordered this. I will never come back here. This is actually THEFT

Nice place to hang out. The beer on tap is good as well as the bartender service. On TV they were showing ESPN as well as video highlights from world famous surfers from all over the world. Good location on W Beech Street and what I love they have bike racks for all of you that ride your bikes around LB or elsewhere. I would come by again to try their food.

Great place for casual meal while spending the day in Long Beach. True, parking is tough during the summer but if you can walk, bike or taxi it's worth it. Nice outdoor patio on the side, friendly service and burgers were delicious. Nice selections of beers on tap too.

Best venue around! Not only do we enjoy dining their as a family, we just had our daughters graduation party there. The deck space was terrific as well as the food and staff! The waitresses were pleasant and catered to our every need. The food was amazing with generous portion sizes and leftovers to take home! Our family and friends were amazed as to how well run the restaurant was. Will happily continue to patronize The Saloon! Thank you!!

Poor service, mediocre food. Waitress had a bad attitude from the start. They were out of my requested drink and she didn't know what other brands they had but didn't seem to want to find out. Then my meal never arrived (oops, the order wasn't put in). The waitress was downright rude. In 15 years in Long Beach, I've eaten at The Saloon many times. In my experience, this is typical of the service there. There are always mistakes. The food is mediocre. Stick to basic menu items - they have trouble with anything more ambitious. I won't be returning.

My family and I hosted a memorial for our mother. Roisin and her staff could not have been more gracious and accommodating. Everyone who attended felt comfortable with the setup and it being outdoor and properly social distant. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive to everyones needs. Everyone had great time and it made it easy for everyone to reminisce about our mother without having to worry about the service. The food was outstanding and plentiful. We look forward to hosting our next event at the Saloon. Thank you for an amazing day.

Nice atmosphere outside. Food is just ok, at least what my boyfriend I ordered. We ordered the rigatoni ala vodka, bad idea since it's a bar, but we were hungry. We also ordered the Tex-Mex chicken which was drizzling in cheese. If I would have known it was that cheesy I probably wouldn't have ordered it. We saw a few salads on other tables and the sampler appetizer, those looked good. The Pina Colada and the Mango Margarita were fantastic. I'd def go back for drinks and salads. Another fun bar in Long Beach for sure!

My boyfriend proposed to me last night on the beach and had my family surprise me afterwards at the restaurant. The owner and staff had gone above and beyond helping to decorate, move tables and just completely accommodate in every way. So many of my friends and family commented on the warmth and hospitality of this place. Seriously thank you to this place and staff. Your wonderful help made all the difference.

Dear Saloon, I only like you under these optimal conditions: 1. I'm hammered 2. Its nice outside, the patio isn't packed and there is a baseball or football game on that I want to watch 3. You aren't too crowded 4. I know one of the bartenders working here I think its mostly cause I run into too many people I know (and don't like) at this bar. Foods decent...beer is beer. They have a nice dart board but if there are too many people around you obvi can't play (and if your aim is as bad as mine, you should never play or ask everyone to clear that corner) On the bright side, my boy knows a bartender here and they hook us up. They also didn't get mad when his girl was less than sober here last year, so thats dope.

I haven't walked out of many bars in my life, but yesterday called for it. We walked into this place on the Sunday before Labor Day, so yes, it was expected to be crowded.. but this place was just overly obnoxious. There was singing and clapping and tambourines and loud music and old women and men and young women and men ... the bar was impossible to get to ... it was expensive... everything about this place made my skin crawl. My friends all got drinks - I opted to go right back outside. I see no reason to come here ever again.

One of the better outside eating areas with sunny, garden, shaded / covered areas. Weekend brunch menu supplements a regular menu with something for most everyone. The food is generally middle of the road, steak cut fries and some other comfort foods better than that. Together with decent / friendly service, a meal on the veranda with the nearby ocean air is a solid choice.

Band on a Friday was great but the bartender was a bit uneducated about beers other than bud/bud light. If you want good music and basic drinks, come here. Other than that, stay away.

I started coming here after a friend recommended it for the outdoor dining during COVID, and I'm so glad I did. The atmosphere is very trendy and makes for a perfect lunch stop after the beach. In addition, the food and service is great! I love the shrimp tacos. I definitely would recommend The Saloon!

This was the strangest experience I've had at a restaurant with a hostess. We went on Sunday around 7pm. We saw that there was outdoor seating and an acoustic guitar player so we decided to take a look at the menu. The hostess outside gave us a menu to look at. After my boyfriend and I decided we wanted to eat there, she informed us they were no longer seating anybody. Ummmm, what? It's 7pm on a Sunday. She said "yeah, we're not seating anybody - if you'd like to go inside you can". We said we wanted to eat outside so I guess we'd have to go someplace else. She said well, you can give me your phone number and I can call you if anything becomes available, but it's going to be a good 15 minutes. What????? You don't have a wait list? I was so confused. We went inside for a drink which was made perfectly by the way. We went back outside after 15 minutes and she sat us at the first table outside. The hostess from inside came outside and said "you can only order drinks, no food. Kitchen is too backed up". Now it's 7:30pm and we want to eat. The waitress came over, took our order, and the wait time for food was 15 minutes. I have no idea what kind of training they give their staff, but it's the strangest I've ever seen. Food was actually very good which is why I'm giving it a 3. Drinks were on point as well and our waitress was nice and attentive. It can get way too loud if you want a nice quiet night because of all the drunk kids coming from the beach, but we made the best of it. There are definitely better places in long beach though.

One of the longer living restaurants in the west end, the Saloon is perfect for a quick meal or a stop on your night out. I ordered Mahi tacos and they were tasty. Also tried the spinach dip which was also good but a little watery for my taste. They recently redid their menu and have an awesome outdoor patio for the summer.

The place is nice, great food and good menu selection but service is horrible! We had a table of 5 people and ordered 2 beers, 1 wine and a soda. We waited 40 minutes just to get a drink. Also I need to mention the place was not packed at all and the table that arrived next to us with 7 people received food and drinks agreed or our 5 too. Our food order, which was good, only had Mediterranean Wrap, California Chicken wrap, penne ala vodka, fish and chips and quesadilla. The bill also took an minimum 15 minutes to be complete. So disappointed

True outdoor eating , service is great. Food is very good... waitress very attendant. Will be coming here again.. get the homemade potatoe chips!! Sit on the deck..

This was a very pub like place. It wasn't terrible but I also didn't find it extraordinary. The service was very good, alright selection of beer, and good enough food. Fine enough for when visiting people who live nearby.

Since the weather has been so coperative lately, I wanted to find a place to eat outside. The saloon still has BEAUTIFUL outdoor seating. A great selection of beers, and food. What strikes me most importantly is that I had looked at the menu ahead of time, and had my heart set on chicken francais- which is on the online menu. When we got there, the menu was slightly different, and no chicken francais. But the waitress asked in the kitchen, and they happily prepared it for me, and it was deelicious. Now THAT'S how u keep the customers coming back. I know I will! Thank u for great nite out. Btw, everyone in my party enjoyed their meals as well.

The Saloon is a great bar in the west end of Long Beach, NY. Came here two times- once I sat at the bar once I sat for dinner. I had Brenna as a waitress and Phil for a bartender. Both 5 of 5 stars. Excellent service, good food, good vibes. Phil was an awesome guy, true gentlemen, and Brenna was an excellent waitress who truly cares. Will definitely be back. Highly recommend.

The Saloon is the black sheep of Long Beach; it just doesn't seem to be able to make the leap from b@stard child to tolerated step-daughter. I don't know why. The food is good. The beer is cold. It's not expensive and there's never a cover.

Love the Saloon! Their burger is one of the best in town. The outdoor deck is also awesome. Love the live music during the week. Sunday Brunch and mimosas~ Bloody Mary is also delicious. I've been coming to Saloon for awhile now. Can't believe some of these reviews. I guess to each is own but I would give Saloon a try, despite what many of these "reviews" have said. You be the judge. :)
