"With chic interiors, an open-air courtyard (particularly crowded during winter) that hosts live music, a well-stocked bar, and an elegant menu, the Salt House is one of Kolkata’s most popular spots. The restaurant serves a largely European menu with a bit of Mediterranean and regional Indian cuisines stirred into the mix. Some of the dishes come with quirky twists. The roasted pork belly is dressed in vindaloo jus and served with a side of zesty fried rice tossed with fiery Goan sausage, while the Bengali prawn malaikari (a satiny curry of prawns cooked in coconut milk) is folded into al dente risotto." - Priyadarshini Chatterjee

The Salt House has potential to be a great dining destination with its pleasing ambiance and a menu that holds promise. However, improvements in the service department are crucial for providing a more well-rounded experience. If you're willing to overlook service hiccups for a cozy atmosphere and decent food, it might still be worth a visit.

Hello foodies, Here are the reason why you like The Salt House. Ambience: The ambience is soothing. It has a roof top and a covered restaurant. If you love a place under the open sky. You must visit this place. Well decorated place with wooden furnitures. You can arrange a birthday party here, even decorate your date. The pics are attached. Food: Since we are into continental delicacies, we had ordered some Italian and Spanish delicacies. They really served excellent food. We loved the taste and quality of the food. You must try their desserts. They are palatable. Again I forgot what we ate. Staff: They are always at your service. There is an incident that proved how dedicated staff they are. Every time I turned back to click photos, the staffs thought that we were looking for them. Every time they came to assist us. 🤣🤣 P.S: must try Hazelnut mousse. Alaska. Pizza. Don't try parfait. If you find my review helpful, kindly like it and follow me here and on Instagram (@awrijit). Peace n ❤.

Location: On Shakespeare Sarani, crossing of Rawdon Street. Ambience: Tastefully decorated, both indoor and terrace seating. Large tables with enough space between tables. Filtered drinking water available. Clean toilet. Service: Quite patchy, staff not attentive. Had to shout out to the staff for any requirement. Ordered: * Nutella Smoothie: very average, not very chocolaty, just about ok. Rs 275 * Burrata Pizza: wood fired pizza, Neapolitan style pizza with thick crust, quite soft, melted burrata cheese and rocket leaves, good to taste but too expensive. Rs 895 * Deconstructed Tiramisu: very average, not authentic tiramisu, tastewise just ok, not worth the high price. Rs 375 Overall, okayish food at very high prices. Not worth at all. Not recommended!

I went with great expectations. But the place couldn't match up to it. The preparations looked great, but the food wasn't exceptional or something i hadn't had elsewhere. Had the roasted chicken. And the pasta. The seafood risotto and the cheesecake, which couldn definitely be better. Also the staff didn't know English or Bengali in the place. The ambience is very elegant and beautiful although wouldn't visit again because it over priced af

Nice place with good food. It was pretty empty at Friday lunch so no waiting time. Tried the guacamole toast which was okay. I felt the lemon was a bit over powering. We also took the pan fried bhetki which was good and had a mild flavor profile. They had a nice cocktail menu but may be for another day.

Great place in terms of both ambience and food. We had shikanji, chicken and cheddar sliders, grilled pizza, cheese croquettes and belgian tart. Food is super delicious! Just did not get the outdoor seating as there was a private party going on. Rest no complaints! Will visit this place again and again. ☺

Overall it’s a nice place for dine in. Good food good music and great ambience. We ordered a chicken slider, barbecue chicken pizza and a tex Ned bowl which is usually a Mexican rice bowl & orange juice. The food was really good, and fast service. They have indoor and outdoor seating, make sure to call ahead and make a reservation for the outdoor seating.

Great location and the typical modern ambience of dark interiors. Be cautious because their starters are minuscule, as are the special mocktails served in slender champagne tulips. The mains are hearty - both in portion size and taste. The Salt House has an interesting menu which should be explored over time. Reasonably good service.
