Where to start... Cozy. Walking around because La Trappe (top list in my favorites) was closed for the weekend I found The Salzburg. It was a cold December friday night and this place looked warm and just what I was looking for. This place opened 2 months ago and you can feel it. An amazing wooden bar that still looks and smells new and nice high table seating makes a very cozy interior. The menu has a mix of central European dishes, many wines and (one of the drawbacks) not enough beers. Got a Stiegl and as soon as I took the first sip I felt like when I used to live in Germany... a nice clean refreshing beer in a cozy place. To eat the Schnitzel sandwich was good except it had too much mayo but the meat was really good. The Spätzle with meatballs was too salty... I will definitely give this place a second chance bc of the atmosphere and bc I want to try their sausages 😉 Ps. I read a review about this place assuming it is an Australian restaurant... talking about the Aussie look... just so you know... it's Austrian ;)

Not quite like Austria but food is great. Wine selection is very good. Service was very good as well. Will be back.

Absolutely loved it. The attention to detail in this place is amazing. Being an Austrian and having lived in Salzburg for years I can honestly say this place is the best of all world's. Amazing casual San Francisco dining & drinks with the best parts from Austrian food and drinks.

The decor is a cool modern take on an Austrian ski lodge. The food and beer and wine selection are great but a tad pricey for the portions and type of food. The homemade Gluwein was delicious but $12.50 a mug seems a little much for spiced wine.

Nice place, great ambiance, good food, great service. The wine selection is a little weak, especially the limited Austrian options. So much awesome wine from that country, but this is not the place to experience that.

Great quality food and great portion sizes (you can actually have a diverse meal of multiple dishes ... like in Austria!). Surprisingly good spätzle, fondue, and rabbit sausage. Beautiful architecture. Bravo.

Wow what a rip-off! The wine list is decent but the food is a joke - tiny portions, boring taste, high prices - $16 for a tiny serving of fondue with dull bread - $16 for three tiny, unmemorable Rösti - $14 for a simple sausage with a tired potato salad - $12 for a lame pretzel with a bit of dip on the side I'm happy to pay high prices in San Francisco when the quality is right but this is far from it - you're much better off going to Leopold's, Suppenküche, Schmidt's or Rosamunde's!

Way overpriced. A pretzel the side of a small cookie is $12. A “half litre” of German beer is just a brandy snifter with a splash of beer in it. That’s also $12. No authentic German or Austrian restaurant would ever offer you such a pittance for some much money.
