Ambiance is casual and super chill. If you sit indoors you get a lovely view of the marina; if you dine outdoors you don't get much of the view but the seating is comfortable enough and it was such a gorgeous day. We opted to dine inside though because mom wanted to enjoy the view. Service was great--quick and friendly despite being busy for Mother's Day (we did arrive at 11:30am though, highly recommend arriving early for anywhere on a main holiday).
Ordered fried calamari appetizer and my dad who normally HATES calamari ate EVERY piece, yes including the tentacles which he normally abhors anywhere else. In his own words, "It doesn't taste or smell fishy and the batter is so light, fluffy and flavorful." The server mentioned that everything on the menu is home made, including the Cole slaw sauce!
The fried oysters aren't on the lunch menu but the server allowed us to order it even though it's only on the dinner menu. They're HUGE and super juicy, and just like the fried calamari served along with delicious homemade cocktail sauce and tartar sauce. Super filling, so be sure to arrive hungry!
This sounds insane but we also shared a bowl of clam chowder served in a bread bowl. It's totally doable since it's served on a silver tray to contain any type of mess. We devoured that thing until NO TRACE was left. True story.
That was just for starters, shared by 4 out of 5 people in our party (my sister doesn't eat seafood).
For our entrees:
Mom - crab Louie salad which was also a large serving so she split it with me. A hefty portion REAL crab meat, too, complete with eggs, tomatoes, carrots...so fresh and yum. Homemade Thousand Island Dressing, too! At $32 it was pricey but oh-so worth it!
Dad & me: split the battered fish combo (fish was was cod). There were 4 large pieces served with fries plus your choice of a side dish, which dad opted for the coleslaw. The fries were basic but good, the fish--so fluffy, meaty and filling that I could only eat one piece!
Sis: Turkey, avocado and Swiss sandwich. She doesn't eat red meat so she gave the bacon to me and our dad. She finished it so I suppose she liked it!
Bro-in-law: ordered the battered prawns (6-8 pieces?) combo with the same sides as Dad. The server mentioned that the Cole slaw was also homemade, including the sauce/dressing. He enjoyed it but like dad and I had eaten too much of the appetizers.
The meal was overall satisfying and a steal at approx $180+ including a 20% tip. Not bad for a mainly seafood lunch for 5 people!
For everyone's convenience I took photos of the menu today since I noticed the prices were different from what was displayed online. Hope this helps!
