Stopping in St marys came Friday for 2 weeks and just sampling the pubs and restaurants all fine until we went in bishop and wolf pub terrible experience so whilst passing on way back to accommodation saw the scillian club and where they where advertised for sun lunch at 6pm so we called in to see if you could book for next Sunday and we did and had a couple of pints and the bar staff where so welcoming and polite so while where here we ll be using the club top marks

Friendly former social club, with great views from one of the bars.
Cask beers available, and historical association with Harold Wilson PM.

Look at the sign, how sad. We have been here all week, staying right next door and the sign says they are full for food bookings, been there permanently below the 'welcome'. Despite that every evening people come and go. As a tourist it makes me feel very unwelcome.

This is a review for the restaurant upstairs with the views out to the sea. We went there last night and was very pleasantly surprised. Nice restaurant setup with a backdrop of classical music and very friendly service. The food was also very good.
We ate as vegetarians with no problem. There are vegan options as well. We had the parsnip soup for starters followed by mash and Mediterranean tart with broccoli and peas. It was excellent. There’s also a decent selection of wines. Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for something to eat in St Mary’s. We had a table by the window so enjoyed the views as well. What’s not to like?

Didn't eat here but even 1 drink was sufficient. Didn't feel very welcome this time, has previously been much friendlier. No events (such as live music or quiz) anymore, and in all honesty there's better places to visit in Hugh Town. Hopefully it will improve again in the future as I've had great evenings there in the past.

Lovely friendly atmosphere every time we visit this place 😃😃. Sports on TV available at all times. The Sunday lunch re roast is very good and affordable. It's a private club but visitors are welcomed 🤗🤗...

Good beer, good value. Nice staff and you will meet some nice locals as well. The restaurant has some of the best views in High Town, with a down to earth menu and down to earth prices. It's said the do the best Sunday lunch on the Island.
