Inside Penn Quarter’s Cozy Newcomer, Scotts Restaurant and Bar | Eater DC
"An adjoining members-only drinking club enforces a strict membership model requiring a fingerprint scan from a private entrance on F Street and offers an intimate, library-style setup where up to 35 members at a time can sample hard-to-find spirits from the associated Scotch Malt Whisky Society. The separate 850-square-foot venture is open to those who pay a $495 annual fee." - Tierney Plumb
Absolutely amazing. Whiskies from all price ranges served in a beautiful bar by knowledgeable and kind bartenders (thank you Andrew!). Do not rob yourselves from having a chat with them about your tastes and what they do over there - its absolutely worth it. Most drams range from 5-15 pounds, but you can find anything over there. Food is also very fairly priced.

Was at an informative and entertaining whisky tasting. Great fun, great drams, great service. If you enjoy whisky, if you want to know what it's really about, this is the place. Authentic, loved, knowledgable.

Excellent Food, the whiskies were great; huge thanks to the staff for helping me choose something to my tastes.
Ended up going back and getting membership that day after I’d been in with a friend that is a member.

Everything about the Scotch Malt Whisky Society, Queen Street, Edinburgh is excellent. There is a public bar on the ground floor but as members we used the Members Room on the first floor. The staff were excellent and really knew their stuff when it came to whisky. The food was also excellent, and the atmosphere was warm, inviting and friendly. Not too formal, the whole experience was exceptional.

Very helpful staff, kind and professional! Even though we're not members the treatment was royal. Extra kudos to Skye for serving us and putting up with all my questions!
