The Seaview Hotel

The food is delicious! Had the best super food salad ever... Blueberries! Some kind of incredible seaweed or kale, salted and wilted and lovely! The best cooked tofu I've ever had and I'm vegan, I eat tofu every day! Beautifully presented, really reasonably priced, scrumptious. Returning the next day because we want to eat it again!!

We went for Sunday lunch Table booked for 13.45 pm in the bar. The barmaid was great, very professional. The starters were delicious. Long wait for the main course and they forgot our vegetables which we had to chase up. By the time they arrived the veg and the meal was cold. Long wait for dessert which we had to chase up. The dessert was very nice albeit a small portion. A 10% service charge was added to our bill. This was allegiance voluntary but was already on the bill and we felt pressurised to pay it. We are local but will not be going back.

Came here for Sunday lunch fitted in as an early sitting, but were not pressurised to finish. Roast was excellent, dessert was perfect (salted caramel tart and ice cream) and service was friendly and efficient.

My Daughter and I had an absolutely fantastic 2 night stay at this lovely hotel. The location is beautiful, the staff super friendly and very helpful, our room was immaculately well kept and the breakfasts and evening meals we had were absolutely perfect. Will definitely be returning.

I only ate here and the food was decent. My main concern was the chef that left the toilet cubicle and didn’t wash his hands. Hopefully he did so in the kitchen and I gave him the benefit of the doubt. Food was good but I couldn’t get the handwashing completely from my mind, won’t going back

We had a Sunday Roast lunch here, starters were very good I had mussels and my wife had brochette. The beef and pork was served with a large Yorkshire pudding on top of it Delicious and well cooked. Roast potatoes were cooked to perfection. Roast parsnips were equally good. Some of the green vegetables were overcooked in my opinion. Wines chosen were reasonably priced and good. The deserts were disappointing my lemon pie lacked intensity of flavour, pastry was ok, the meringue probably could have been flamed for longer. The upside down pudding was better but wasn't served piping hot. The restaurant was busy and the service could have been better.

We did a flye and lunch deal with hovercraft and had a lovely lunch here the chicken and leek and mushroom pie was absolutely gorgeous, but we Just wanted to give a positive feedback to the young lad with the blonde hair who was working in the restaurant yesterday (Saturday afternoon) firstly I would like to say all staff we meet were friendly and helpful and polite but from the time this young lad greeted us till we left he was so polite and just stood out, what a great work ethics from such a young person and thank you for making us feel so at ease when we came into the restaurant, keep up your great work and you will go far, good luck for your future please could you pass this on to him 😊

Having spent 2 nights at the seaview, there's now no where else I would stay on the island. From the warm welcome, to the beautiful rooms, to the food which was just amazing. Perfectly located, super clean, all the staff were so positive and helpful. Seaview made the visit for me....

I grew up in Seaview, so this is one of my regular watering holes. Two bars, the smarter front bar with lots of tables outside, and the cosy "sunshine bar" further in serve good local beers, and good pub grub. The hot crab ramekins are especially recommended. The restaurant is smart, with an older front room and a newer "notting hill" rear dining area. Food is good, and professionally served. Wine is good, but priced high. During the summer this is one of "the" places in Seaview. Come on in for a drink, or a Pimms... don't mind if I do ;)

I'm very surprised this hasn't been reviewed before. I lived on the Island for 7 months and as part of my research (!) as manager of a 5* B&B I tried out a lot of the restaurants and pubs to see which were worthy of my recommendation to our guests. This was always the first place that sprang to mind. The food is wonderful here - beautifully prepared with good quality fresh ingredients. The surroundings are warm and welcoming and the staff are professional and friendly. Parking can be very difficult if you arrive during a busy period, so keep that in mind. You should also book ahead, particularly if you want to sample their lovely sunday dinners which is very popular and often booked up way in advance. It's not cheap here but it also doesn't require a second mortgage. If you want a treat during your time on the Isle of Wight, head here.

Not a great hotel. Room 26 was dated and will not impress. The room I had was large though but with shabby furnishings. Walls are very thin and could hear the neighbors next door. Carpeting had stains. Just disappointing all around. The food was fine. I suggest staying elsewhere.
