The Sentry - Flatiron

Pretty cute place. It’s a little small but they have some good drinks. I didn’t try the food but I thought the ambiance was nice and the service was good too.

The menu is not accurate online but the food that was available (roughly equivalent) is delicious! The potatoes, salad and fries are all incredible in their own way. And it was dairy free (let the kitchen know) too! The cocktails were wonderful too. The little music is the best I've had in NYC

I hosted my engagement party at the Sentry and I cannot say enough good things about the venue and staff! The venue was beautiful (retro chic vibes with nyc charm and a lovely view off the balcony) and accommodated our 70 person party with extra space. The food, served from Hole in the Wall, was delicious! The two bartenders were amazing and got drinks out quickly, and the cocktails were high quality. Special shoutout to Hector for all of his help making sure our guests had an incredible night! Last but not least, our event planner Olivia (Liv) was incredibly responsive as we planned the party and was a dream to work with. She also helped run the event the day of. Look no further if you are looking for an amazing private event space!!

I'm half-tempted to leave a 4-star review due to the issues we had when we first showed up... BUT. The food and drinks are absolutely phenomenal, and the server was also the only person working when we went, and he was very attentive while we were there. We had five cocktails total between the three of us, each a different one, and our favorite was the Night Music. Their Aviation was also flawless, and the other three drinks were very unique and wonderful. The ambience is absolutely incredible, with good music choices and wonderful views of the city from the rooftop. The dim lighting is done mostly by candlelight, which is perfect for an evening on a rooftop. The food was phenomenal, however it's my understanding that the kitchen is used by Hole in the Wall a few floors down, so that may be more points for them rather than Sentry. Not to mention the online menu is completely inaccurate for what was actually being offered, so don't go in expecting that to be correct. However the food remains absolutely incredible, based on what we tried. We did make a reservation, thinking we'd need one for a Friday night, but it turns out they only use the reservation page as a means to gather interest in the place, so it was unnecessary and not actually useful. Overall, past the initial confusion and concerns, it's an absolutely incredible place and experience, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique experience to have here in New York.

I attended a Private Event a few weeks back at The Rooftop, Sentry. It is a BEAUTIFUL, Charming, quaint venue. Regrettably the Bartender, Hector, was rude, inhospitable and completely unprofessional. I made sure I provided the feedback to Management on location so they would be aware of this employee's unacceptable behavior. Apart from that, I would absolutely visit and recommend The Sentry, Rooftop.

Nice stool seating with views of the Met Life tower. It was a quick & quiet drink around 9pm on Sat.

We had such a great experience at The Sentry! Niesa and Marta were so kind and created amazing drinks! They were so attentive, always made sure we had a full glass of water, and had great conversations with everyone. The space was super chill and comfortable, perfect for an evening drink and relaxation. Will definitely return in the future!

Do not come here. We walked in at 7pm thinking we must be in the wrong place. No staff, dirty dishes everywhere that stayed the entire evening, we had to buss our own table, food took over a half hour for two small plates, chairs were haphazardly placed and generally looked a mess, charged for different liquors than what we actually ordered. It was honestly a bizarre experience. There are so many amazing places in nyc, definitely skip this.

I was at the Sentry for an engagement party and it was beautiful. The venue was exquisite and the bar had a great, full selection of alcohol and beverage choices. Dark ambiance but staff was friendly. Overall, great vibes for an event, having a drink, or hanging with friends!

Ordered: Burning Down the House (~$16): tequila, passionfruit, jalapeño agave, grapefruit The Sentry Margarita (~$16): tequila, lime, cardamom, licor 43, jalapeño tincture Truffle Fries (~$10) Salt & Pepper Squid (~$14): with fried curry leaves, limes, kewpie mayonnaise Aya's take: 18th floor, intimate, aesthetic. This is for those who appreciate a rooftop bar but without the busy-ness and crowds seen in others. I had a Pulsd gift which includes 2 cocktails and 2 appetizers, which was a nice way to check out this new rooftop and enjoy some quick bites/drinks. The Salt & Pepper Squid and the Truffle Fries were both great appetizer choices! They tasted fresh, the coating on the squid was light, and both went well together. The drinks were refreshing, nice to sip on, but not very memorable. Really enjoyed the ambiance the most!

A really intimate rooftop on the 18th floor of Hotel Henri with clear view of the sky, nearby buildings and streets below :) came here to meet friends on a weeknight so it wasn't too busy. Didn't make a reservation but still were able to find space by the corner couch and chairs. Love the colors and aesthetics of the space. The bartender/waiter was the best part! He was super kind, helpful and fun to talk with. The food was surprisingly good and well-portioned! I thought it was going to be super small, and we got 4 appetizer dishes each very shareable between 2 ppl. There's also plenty of drink options as well whether you want a cocktail, wine, champagne, beer or cider. I would say that prices are reasonable for the quality and quantity of food/drinks you get. Highly recommend!

Absolute gem of a bar; our entire group was so excited to have found it. On the top floor of a nondescript building, the Sentry was cozy. Mostly groups of 1-2 friends having a good conversation. There is a single bartender serving a solid cocktail menu. There are a lot of mirrors, wood paneled walls, and ambient lighting to make this place feel really special.

Found this hidden gem on a Saturday night when all the bars in the vicinity were packed and needed reservations. The Sentry is a rooftop bar perfect for an intimate date night or a night out with friends. It was mostly empty when we got there around 6 pm, so we were happy to have the place mostly to ourselves. There were small nooks with comfy couches to snuggle in, as well as a small terrace if you want look over the city. Drinks were great and around $17, standard pricing for the area. I will definitely come back again!

I was at a private party on Saturday Jan. 28th. The female bartender charged me $36 for a casamigos margarita., I imaging tip is included but she never said it. I asked the guy who was bartending also, when I came back up to get the second one. He said a Casamigos drink is $18 and then Marg is a $5 add in making it $23. They do include tip which is illegal in Ny without telling the guest,, so not sure how you can let her conduct business. She steals from guest...I would stay away from this dump..

Gem of a place! Beautiful views, vibe, cocktails, and food- I plan to make this my summer go-to. They have a badass crew of female bartenders too!

Great hidden gem in Flatiron. Excellent drinks, attentive service, roomy space, and a very nice view. Good date spot also.

What a treasure! The cocktails are incredible, the food was amazing, and the views are perfect. This is such a gem that is now my new go-to. It has it all, and I'm so glad I stumbled across it - highly recommend!

Hector was the best bartender at the sentry. He really made our experience so much more fun. Will definitely be returning!

The Sentry has a warm, inviting, and relaxing environment. The view from the penthouse makes you feel like youre right in the middle of idustrial Manhattan. I came here for a second date and staff were absolutely amazing at picking that up and made the experience great! Would definitely come back.

We had a great experience here! I emailed asking about a reservation for dinner originally, but ended up coming here after dinner just for drinks instead. I spoke with the reservations manager via email who was very helpful. We headed over with a group of about 8 after dinner. The ambiance of the space is great, very chill with comfortable furniture arranged in groups, with a row of seating looking out the window. It's kind of an indoor/outdoor setup with a row of open doors with a railing and seating so you can sit and look out (with some pretty nice views). We had the place almost to ourselves (a few people wandered in after we had been there for a while) which was very nice, they were very attentive with drinks and bringing glasses of water. There are two private bathroom which are really nicely done. Everything looks very new. I did not try the food (sort of a limited menu, more for snacks), but the drinks I tried were very good, and everyone in my group was very complimentary. At the end of the night we chatted with one of the waiters, Luis, who was very attentive, and even brought us a round of shots, which was awesome.

hector was the most lively bartender I have ever experienced he got my friends and I in the mood and we enjoyed every second of it he reminded me of Johnny Depp my favorite actor! he understood our needs and was amazing

I had a reservation confirmed and they even texted me to remind me to be there, but when I arrived they turned me away saying they had a private event. Ruined my whole night. Would give 0 stars if possible.
