Best Restaurants in Wimberley , Texas | Eater Austin

"It’s right there in the name — this is a Texas-leaning beer/wine garden that happens to be the home of llamas and donkeys. Truly, what more could a person want? For food at the aptly named Deli Llama, there’s an array of sandwiches, salads, and snacks, plus nonalcoholic beverages. There are outdoor dine-in areas." - Nadia Chaudhury

The Shady Llama is an absolute gem! With its beautiful outdoor views, it's the perfect place to relax and enjoy nature. The customer service is great, and the atmosphere is welcoming for families, kids, and dogs alike. The highlight of the visit was definitely feeding and spending time with the llamas—it's an experience unlike any other! If you're looking for a fun and friendly spot to unwind, The Shady Llama is the place to be!

Google
The outdoor environment was so relaxing and enjoyable. I am looking forward to going again and bringing my kids to experience feeding the llamas. It was clean and spacious yet inviting and calm.

Sammi McKenzie

Google
Love the outdoor environment and beautiful views! Quieter area with music playing! Good drink menu and lots of seating! 5 stars!!

I’ve gone here a lot because I like the overall venue and spending an afternoon here with my dog and young child. But what I don’t like is the customer service. The main staff are two guys who seem to not care about being friendly or hospitable to their customers. Especially with returning customers who they know at this point, you’d think they’d be a little nicer and more welcoming, but they kind of act like everyone is an annoyance and not welcomed. The place is also positioned as friendly for children and dogs, yet they are often rude about / to children and dogs. Kind of like they’re always watching you and waiting to say somerint to you. I’ve even overheard them making little comments about customers amongst themselves. It’s a shame they have this bad attitude and they don’t have a more free and welcoming one, especially with returning loyal customers, because the place does have potential and it’s nice. The other thing, they had a food truck there for a long time called The Deli Llama which was really great food both for adults and children. But they recently got rid of that and all they have now is a simple hot dog stand. Which definitely is no where near as good and it again makes it so that you don’t want to stay as long. Maybe they can get the old food truck back, and work on being friendlier to their customers.

Really nice views and laid back atmosphere at this place! I didn’t get to see any llamas but there were burros hanging out and that was cool with me.

Google
This place has so much potential. The view, trees, and sunset are absolutely gorgeous—but it’s missing the mark in other areas. It doesn’t quite capture the Texas hill country experience, largely due to the atmosphere and culture. Unfortunately, it’s not a non-smoking environment—people started smoking right next to us despite clearly seeing we had a baby with us. We ended up having to move and eventually left because of it. They don’t offer any food or small bites, which would really enhance the experience. While they do have beautiful string lights, they turn them on too late to enjoy them. The pop music playing felt totally out of place for the setting—live local music on weekend evenings would be a much better fit and could really elevate the vibe. With the right adjustments, this could become a magical summer night spot for locals—not just tourists—especially if they leaned into the sunset views and kept it going until 11. But it’ll take some thoughtful changes from the owner to get there.

Google
Pretty cool vibe, enjoyed the location and the Texas sunset. Not far from town and seemed pretty busy for a Wednesday afternoon. Family and dog friendly.

Katherine Koger

Google
This place was recommended by several locals. They said you could interact with the llamas and sunset was beautiful. So we thought we’d try it for dinner. It’s literally a food truck with 4 sandwich options and NO llamas. We asked where they were and were told they are free roaming. So it’s basically a truck stop without llamas. I can’t deduct much bc our experience was mostly due to incorrect expectations on our part. This place is perfect for large groups with lots of kids to run around that don’t really have any food expectations. I guess we should have checked the menu first, but I assumed they had bar food, burgers at least.

Yelp
Food truck had great, reasonably priced options. I had the Vietnamese Rice Bowl for $13, and a wanted a whole other one! Carl was amazing. I'm not a beer drinker, but he was super friendly, and educated me on my options and I loved them all. It was such a vibe, and I was happy that I was able to bring my kid with me to get him out of the house.

Yelp
Visited this past weekend and fell in love with this family friendly brewery! Good brews, an on-site food truck, kids play area, and adorable llamas - what more can you ask for? The property is beautifully maintained with ample seating. They have a great selection of beers, wine, and non-alcoholic options. Service is friendly and the bartenders allowed us to sample a couple of options as well. The food truck offers sandwiches and salads but I opted for the Vietnamese rice bowl special which was delicious! It does get very windy as it's on top of a hill, so layer up on a winter day! Definitely worth a visit!

Yelp
This is the perfect spot for parents who want to enjoy a cold drink outside while the kids have plenty of space to enjoy themselves! They have a wide variety of local beers, wines and non alcoholic drinks. You can often find food trucks serving something tasty. Recently they've added a fantastic playscape that's built into the hillside. There is plenty of seating so sit back, relax and wait for the best sunset view the Hill Country has to offer.

Yelp
Swung by here on a spontaneous brewery tour. Love the beer selection & the food truck is on point! Plenty of shade, good music, and seating make this one of my favorite breweries west of Austin. Bar tenders are friendly and the llamas are nice attraction. Great place to gather, chill, & have a few drinks.

Yelp
This was the first place we checked out when we arrived to our Wimberley weekend trip. We stopped by to enjoy a few drinks and maybe get some food. They have beer on tap, sangria and wine. Wine prices are a little steep. Stick with beer. The area is nice. It's spacious. Lots of room to spread out. There's plenty of seating. Children and dog friendly. They have llamas, but sometimes you won't be able to see them. Their property is large and they roam the property. You will definitely see a beautiful sunset from the property. They do have a few food trucks for food. Parking is available on site. Restrooms are available and clean. All seating is outside.

Yelp
Great SHADED outside venue to sit back and relax or let your kids roam! There is a playground for and an explorer area and cornhole for the adults! Great little food truck that had some dessert options for the kids. Walk up ordering and wasn't a long wait. Great sangria! They had bathrooms that were nice but had a long wait as there is only 2 of them for both men and women. They did have a port a potty option too. Parking is very limited and hard to acquire! We had to wait for a while to get a spot and heard that parking on the road was very risky!

Yelp
I came here for a friend's birthday party last Saturday afternoon and fell in love with this bar's location and views. It is definitely quite a way out from the larger metro areas nearby, tucked in in the wooded hills of Texas Hill Country; but, the drive there is definitely worth it! The bar is perched on a hill slope with gorgeous views towards the west-southwest, so it's especially beautiful at sunset. The tables are dispersed under tree shades and allow for intimacy although they are easily accessible. The Shady Llama is also family-friendly with the large playground and the llamas that are roaming the property. There's plenty of (unpaved) parking out front. The bar serves an amazing selection of ciders, beers, and wines. Most of them are locally sourced, which is awesome! I tried two of the semi-dry ciders and loved them both. The bartender was happy to give suggestions and seemed very knowledgeable about what's on tap. There were two food trucks behind the bar serving Tex-Mex cuisine. I had the chicken quesadilla and the food was okay. Definitely come for the views, vibes, and drinks. And bring your friends!

Yelp
I feel like it's a secret local place. Friendly knowledge staff. Hill country views. If they have the Cubano sandwich and brownies, get them! You won't regret it.

Yelp
The shady llama made our weekend, getaway, even more special with the beautiful views and enchanting sunset. Perfect location for both beer and wine lovers. Great compromise for both the hubs and I since we each don't favor one or the other.

Yelp
Mark your calendar for a visit to the Shady Llama! This is a wonderful family owned beer garden that offers a relaxing atmosphere to enjoy a beautiful sunset, feed a llama, or watch the donkeys meander up the hillside. They don't make any of their beer, cider, or wine - but their rotation is always from Texas companies and the staff are very knowledgeable! I don't usually think about this place for a wine night it feels more "masculine, college causal, or kids playing" depending on when you visit. But next time I will try some wine and pick a spot to enjoy a romantic sunset. It would be nice to have a kid free wine night with some nice music. Trivia is on Thursday nights - the manager is very nice and does a good job but imho it could be more interactive and entertaining. It is your standard "read the questions kind of thing" and I think themed trivia is much more fun! With daylight savings trivia is now at 7:00 pm so it makes it a little easier to get there after work. There are 2 food trucks on site but it would be nice to have different food trucks rotate through or have the bar offer a variety of snacks. Definitely check IG for updates about music, hours, etc - but they do not answer questions from social media. And they don't really post updates to their website that often. Parking is Extremely limited on the weekends so be prepared. If the lot is full go down the road a couple of minutes to Ghost Note Brewing - they are a family owned beer garden as well but have much more parking. Very different styles but both are great and worth the trip! I would say the major drawback is they close very early. Just when the temp's finally cool off it is time to go! Please show your support for them to stay open later so we can enjoy the hill country breezes and not feel rushed. It would be nice to be able to schedule a "feeding" with the animals bc I have been a dozen times and have never gotten to give them a snack! The bathrooms are very clean but on busy days you might get stuck with a porta potty if you can't wait Overall a very relaxing atmosphere and something good is always on tap! I highly recommend the City Orchard ciders. Let me know what you enjoy most about your visit. Cheers

Yelp
On a Sunday afternoon, my husband and I made our way to the Shady Llama to enjoy some local craft brewing. It was a cloudy and overcast day, with spots of rain, but we did not let that deter us. They do offer a wide variety of seating and luckily we found some that was protected from the rain. While we were there, we were fortunate enough to meet three different llamas, although they do not particularly like to be out in the rain. As for the beer, I absolutely enjoyed their variety and ended up trying two different fruited sour beers. My husband loved the variety of beer as well and chose a delicious amber ale. They had food trucks on site, but we were still full from breakfast so we just sat and enjoyed our beer while playing a round of cards. The service was fast and friendly, and the staff were all super engaging. The space is dog and children-friendly, but with the llamas, and rocky terrain, just be sure to keep an eye on both.

Yelp
We decided to checkout the shady llama yesterday after meeting for drinks in downtown Wimberley. It was nice to get away from the crowds and traffic and I really enjoyed our time at the llama. They have a huge fenced area past the seating area where the llamas roam as well as a fenced in kids play area near the parking lot. As someone who doesn't have kids, I appreciated not hearing screaming children during our visit. They have about a half dozen fire pits with chairs surrounding them and also a bunch of picnic tables with canopies. I'm not sure there is a better sunset spot in the area and we definitely enjoying watching it. For drinks, they have a solid selection of craft beer, as well as wine and recent made mulled wine, which was our favorite since it was a tad chilly out in the shade. They have different food truck options and we got the banh mi. It was good and overall the food was decent but likely not worth the visit on its own.

Yelp
Went for a few beers and conversation with a buddy of mind. It was hot so we found some shade and sampled some of the local beers they carry (they don't brew any themselves). The bar staff is very friendly and helpful. Had a great Cubano sandwich from one of the two food trucks, unfortunately the other food truck operator was MIA so we only sampled on of the options. Nice view of the valley, unfortunately the llamas were smarter than us and remained out of site (and the intense sun). We'll definitely be back with the wives and try more of the food.

Liz S.

Yelp
Lovely place! Great spot to just chill and watch the sunset with family. Not a lot of options for food when we were there but we came after dinner just to watch the sun set over drinks and it was perfect. No sign of a llama though, shady or otherwise.

Yelp
Supper cool place. There were llamas on cite and plenty of areas to sit. A few fire pits corn hole and a place for the kids. Around the back they had two food trucks to grab a bite from. The drinks were great they even had a variety of non alcoholic beers to choose from. My fiancé is recently sober and did not feel left out by the variety of choices they had to offer.
google avatar

Allie R.

Yelp
One of the most unique and cool beer/wine gardens I've ever been to. The views are incredible, I can only imagine being here to see the sunset. Tons of games for entertainment, play area for kids, and llamas to pet. Great selection of local beverages. Highly recommend for a chill, relaxing atmosphere.
google avatar

Vladimir G.

Yelp
Ambiance is amazing specially at sunset time. The service is amazing by the way crew. They are only missing better food options
google avatar

Edna M.

Yelp
Adorable llamas, great beer and cider choices, delish food from food truck! Nice outdoor seating too!
google avatar

Preetesh V.

Yelp
Nestled in the heart of hill country with gorgeous view of the hillock, the establishment offers a great melange of nature, outdoors, good drinks and food. This is a great family place and offers a lot of space and activities for kids of all age. There are two food trucks located in the premises and a full bar serving both local brews and craft drinks. A must visit place if you are in Wimberly.
google avatar

Evie T.

Yelp
Super cute and fun. Didn't see any llamas though but the sunset made up for it. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. If I remember correctly the drinks consist of beer, wine, and soda. (Water cooler is available as well) Seating is on a first come first serve situation went on a Friday during spring break and had no problems at all! My only con is on the day we went there were a lot of children everywhere. Running everywhere. Of course that's more so on the parents but just keep in mind that there may be a bunch of kiddos .
google avatar

Holly H.

Yelp
Soooo cute!!! Delicious local drinks, play areas for kids, and llllllamas!!! What more could you ask for?! I even scored a llama coozie for $2! We didn't stay for sunset, but it's on my to do list. There are food trucks on site. Definitely worth a stop.

Yelp
This place was pretty spectacular. I've been wanting to go for a while and it finally happened! It was in the low 70s and perfect weather. The hill country views are beautiful and I'd imagine sunsets here are gorgeous. Outdoor games available. Dogs on leash are allowed. Lots of seating and an interesting idea on how to hold your seats/table. It was nice not having to worry about somebody taking our spot while playing with the animals. You can also get food for them at the bar. They were pretty gentle and didn't mind selfies. Lots of beer, cider and wine options. I had the sweet Sangria (Messina Hof) and Cherry Cobbler by Martin House. Both delightful and fruity. They have 2 food trucks: Gringas Grub Shak and Kelly's Hill Country BBQ. I went with Kelly's and got the Brisket Elote Parfait and it was so, so good. I want to go back just for that! There were so many options to choose from. There's really something for everyone. I'll definitely be back!
google avatar

Yolanda G.

Yelp
Great date location- get there before sunset- 6pm-ish. Amazing view. We ate prior, unable to really try the lunch truck available. Beer available and wine.

Yelp
There is nothing shady about this brewery, because it is an absolute 5-star experience. Decided to make the trek to The Shady Llama with a few friends to enjoy some drinks while watching the sunset. Parking at The Shady Llama has a few spots but I can see it getting a bit complicated for parking on the weekends. So for those of y'all who don't like beer, no need to worry as they have a full bar available to your liking. What really makes this spot stand out is that it's spacious enough for you to enjoy your own private bubble even if there might be kids on the grounds. They have a few play areas for kids to explore so it's a great spot to enjoy drinks if anyone in your group has friends. Now the star of the show are the llamas. They have an open area/free roam philosophy so it's not guaranteed for you to see the llamas, but you'll most likely will. Tucked away in the back corner you'll see them hovering in their water pools and eating buckets. This is such a unique spot in the Texas hill country and one that I will visit again. The scenery is too beautiful not to enjoy a glass of wine (or a bottle).
google avatar

Kris U.

Yelp
This is a brew pub with a lovely outdoor space, expansive Hill Country views, and entertainment for all! | Experience | You can't beat it! It the best of what the area wineries offer in terms of a place where you want to spend a leisurely couple of hours, with a great assortment of local craft beers on tap (and options for the non-beer drinkers). I like that there is a variety of seating options (picnic tables, Adirondack chairs, barstools) and they are nicely spread out. Aside from the view the main attraction is their resident llamas and mini donkeys, and trust me, splurge on the bag of feed for optimal up-close interaction with these adorable camelids! | Beverages | A nicely curated selection of local beer on tap, and surely something to please everyone. There's also a selection of cider, hard seltzer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages. | Eats | We didn't eat here, but there's an onsite resident food trailer offering tacos, quesadillas and burgers.

Yelp
This place is such a hidden gem! We came here right when it opened at 12noon on a Saturday and it was quite peaceful then. Beautiful scenery and the tacos were delicious. The kids enjoyed playing in the 2 play areas and feeding the llamas. The brewery had a large selection of beer and they were reasonably priced. There was also a little scenic trail we didn't get to explore so we'll definitely be back for that.
google avatar

Yelp
After a long dip at Blue Hole Regional Park, the Shady Llama is a place to go for a quick bite, beer, and incredible views. As soon as you walk in, the chairs and hammocks out provide a nice campfire style vibe. There are a ton of trees to keep you cool, and the view of Hill Country is one of a kind. To your right, there is a small fence with adorable llama's you can feed and pet. I didn't get to try the food, but the bbq smelled incredible. Lots of beer and wine options, and great place to bring your friends for a relaxing afternoon.
google avatar

Karen Q.

Yelp
This is a beer garden with a food truck (Gringas Grub Shak) on site. Loved the vibes here, from the hammocks and amazing views to the llamas on their property. The food and beer were really enjoyable on a Saturday afternoon. The place was not too busy at all since we arrived close to their opening time, the sitting areas are all fairly already spread out too. They had four llamas in the back and we were able to feed them by talking to the bar staff.
google avatar

Walt N.

Yelp
This is one of our favorite places to hang out on a weekend. The views are amazing, the staff is friendly, and the vibe is great. Great selection of beers and a decent selection of wines. AND.... You have to check out the llamas!
google avatar

Elizabeth G.

Yelp
I loved the food! They have two food trucks and the service was great! Very relaxing atmosphere, and loved seeing the Llamas!
google avatar

Mae G.

Yelp
A return visit was a must for us. The atmosphere was laid-back, complemented by awesome music, stunning scenery, llamas, and genuinely wonderful people. We enjoyed a few drinks, strolled around the premises, and had a relaxing time. They offer an array of beers and wines, but with this chilly weather, I savored a cup of warm cider. The food from the food truck was yummy, yet what stood out were the people--presumably the owners--they were all incredibly cool and accommodating! If you're in Wimberly, don't miss this place. It's family-friendly and hands down one of the coolest spots to hang out.
google avatar

Shannon B.

Yelp
What a perfect place to enjoy a relaxed few hours on a nice weather day in the Hill Country! The Shady Llama, just west of Wimberley on the way toward Dripping Springs on RR12 is a gem of a yard bar offering Texas-based craft brews, soft drinks, & wines with a killer view and a few furry mascots to feed & pet. Our family loves this place. We can each enjoy a tasty beverage we like, have a good lunch from the Gringa's truck we like from Wimberley, and feed some alfalfa to some llamas and burros. There are plenty of socially-distanced places to lounge around the terraced & tree-shaded yard, and everything is outdoors. It's actually perfect for pandemic times. Pro-tip: do not try to come here during any weekend with special events in Wimberley, like Market Days or Rodeo. The parking lot has limited capacity. Lazy Sundays are the best time IMHO.
google avatar

Erica N.

Yelp
Loved this spot. Can't believe I hadn't been here before. Spent the birthday weekend out in the Driftwood/Wimberely area and our friends told us about this spot and we were not disappointed. Although it's kid central (which can be good or bad for some people), the views (especially for sunset) are amazing. The drinks were good. They have multiple fire pits during the winter time. Lots of seating. Llamas Ofcourse. What more could you want?!
google avatar

Liz F.

Yelp
Ok, this place is a must stop! On the recommendation of a local, we went during sunset and it did not disappoint. One the most beautiful sunsets I've seen in Texas so far They have a very good selection of beers and wine, I opted for the dry rose and enjoyed it. Also, If you're a fan of sour beers, and Key Lime Pie, the key lime sour is a must try! My boyfriend got a Mexican lager that was delicious .. can't remember the name at the moment. There was ample outdoor seating and tables and also corn hole .. and of course llamas! They were off being shady during our visit-so now we just have an excuse to go back. The vibe is great here and the staff behind the bar were knowledgeable and very welcoming. I can't wait to go back
google avatar

Cayla G.

Yelp
We were milling about in Wimberley and wanted to find a relax, safe spot to go enjoy the sunshine so we went to The Shady Llama. It exceeded our expectations! The beer selection had at least 10 on draft and another 15 or so canned. We loved the socially distant setting, the polite staff, the llamas, and the music! I'd love to come back here when I'm in Wimberley again! Note, I cannot review the food trailer on site as I only had the beers! P.s. the Tang IPA from Rough Diamond is 5
google avatar

Mallorie T.

Yelp
This place is super cute and I had a wonderful sour for only 6$! It was really good ((: the only thing that was tough is that they have a small parking lot and it took me quite a while to park. It's a beautiful view and fun to see llamas and donkeys!
google avatar

Michael L.

Yelp
THE BIG: Scenic brewery that overlooks Texas Hill Country...with a llama and donkeys! THE BLACK AND WHITE: I thought this place was a brewery but a brewpub will do! Plenty of great drinks on tap as well as friendly bartenders. The bae and I came here after a swim at the neighboring Blue Hole Regional Park. Short 11min drive will get you to Shady Llama from Blue Hole. The star of the show is the petting zoo featuring the llama and two donkeys. You can get up and personal with the llama by feeding and petting. I was a little hesitant to get too close because who knows if he'll spit. The view of Texas Hill Country is breathtaking and you could sit here for hours just taking it all in. There were two food trucks on site offering tacos and bbq. THE FINAL BAMBOO: The vibe here was so nice. Great place to unwind after long day at the pool or chill with friends until dusk.
google avatar

Jennifer S.

Yelp
Very delightful atmosphere with a great view. Didn't see any llamas just donkeys. Good beer and wine selection. This is definitely a place for Mom and Dad to go to enjoy a beverage and let the kiddos play but if your a Mom and Dad that want to get away from the kiddo atmosphere for an hour or two this place isn't for you. Very family oriented.
google avatar

Donna S.

Yelp
One of my most favorite places around!! A couple food trucks and beer and wine bar. But the views and the sunset is the best around!! They do have llamas and mini donkeys that are cute!! Great place to bring friends and friends with kids. There is a play area and it's contained by a fence to allow the kids to wander and still feel safe! Although this place has gotten pretty popular over the years, it's still always has room when you get there!
google avatar

Makenzie O.

Yelp
We love shady llama so much! And love that they are a close neighbor of ours! The staff is always wonderful, the view is incredible and we love interacting with the donkeys and llamas. They have a new and improved kids play area which is great and so easy to watch your kiddo run around while you enjoy a beverage. One suggestion I would have is to offer more selections of wine that are more affordable! Prices are pretty steep and love that they are local but a cheaper bottle option would be great!
google avatar

Katie B.

Yelp
Just all sorts of whimsical in brewery form. Their table designation decor they give you at the front so you can claim your spot without fear of anyone scooping it up when you're grabbing a beer or going to gawk at the llamas or mini donkeys is adorbs and shows attention to detail and a winning customer service experience right off the bat. The tables are spread out nicely and there's plenty of shaded options or exposed ones, depending on your tolerance for the sun/heat. It's actually on top of a hill so you can get a lovely panoramic vista of Hill Country, so you better believe if you're there at sunset, you'll be getting a gorgeous setting to close out on. They don't brew their own beer (or wine), so they offer up a glimpse of Texas' finest on tap, which I appreciate. During COVID, every order came with chips or a treat (from a Costco assortment), but there's also a taco truck in the back if you're looking for something a little more substantive. Kid and dog friendly, and since there are cute animals roaming the grounds (but fenced away from the tables), there are a lot more kids also roaming the grounds, so if that's not your thing, this may not be the place for you ;) They have 6 llamas and two mini donkeys, and while the guy checking us in made it seem a sighting of them is rare unless you get there right when they open because that's when feeding time is, they were ever present during our midday visit. You can purchase feed for $1/bag to lure them over, and so I have a feeling we just had an extra generous crowd that day that always kept them fence curious!
google avatar

Jennifer M.

Yelp
This is such a cute place! We stopped by here for a drink after visiting Jacob's well. The lamas and other animals are roaming in the area and you are able to feed them. The drinks are cold with lots to choose from. There is a large outdoor area with a few yard games. There are several different seating options to ensure your comfort. If you are hungry, there is a food truck parked in the back with pretty good food. This was a great little find!
google avatar

Jose A.

Yelp
My girlfriend and I love coming here. Sangria is so good. Fire pit is awesome. And the lady loves the llamas.
google avatar

Michaela P.

Yelp
It's shady. As in the trees provide shade, not the mob runs the place. They have llamas. And beer. And fire pits. And picnic tables, lounge chairs, bar games, a view, and food trucks. And some miniature donkeys. Pretty good food trucks. Pretty good beer. Pretty good venue. A little off the beaten path, but not so far out of the way that we won't be back.
google avatar

Erica C.

Yelp
A friend invited me to The Shady Llama on a Sunday afternoon. Such a wonderful place! Great for hanging out with friends. The check in is nice, you tell them how many people are in your party and they give you a table sign to reserve your spot. The beer selection is local. Wine is local as well. The llamas are an extra treat to see. You can purchase feed at the bar. The view of the valley and hill country is fantastic. This is a great place for groups, dogs and is kid friendly too. All staff members are friendly and helpful.
google avatar

Madeline A.

Yelp
I love this place! The Shady Llama is perfect for gatherings large and small. It's kid-friendly, dog-friendly (just don't let them get close to the llamas) and the views of the hill country are gorgeous. My only suggestion would be to add a really nice, healthy mocktail to the menu. We had the lemonade, but it was an artificial lime green, which was a little unappetizing.

Yelp
Came on a weekday evening and had a glass of rose. Was disappointed to find that the llamas had already retired for the day and usually come out during the mornings. However, the scenery was picturesque, and I loved the overall charm of the outdoor space. Service was on point.

Yelp
It's a cute concept beer garden...free roaming llamas and donkeys that you can possibly get a glimpse of or pet is cool. Large open seating areas, very kid friendly, plenty of shade, clean tables for being outdoor, no ants! It was overall a good time. Our party of 3 tried the blackberry cider and a snack bowl, all delicious. Parking was a bit of an issue but there was an officer who was helping direct and keep it flowing. Didn't try the food that was there, no other reason than not having an appetite at the time but it smelled really good. I wish we could've seen more of the llamas and donkeys but maybe if in the area again I'll stop by. Again definitely a cute place to check out.

Yelp
A friend had told me about this place and I was intrigued. I was finally able to make it out and experience it for myself. WOW! If it weren't so far from my house I could be here weekly. It is so peaceful and relaxing with amazing views! The whole place is entirely outdoors (minus the restrooms) and it there is plenty of seating for large groups or small. There's a small kids area, and honestly for as busy as it was, it wasn't that loud. Sound didn't seem to travel that far up here. I could've sat there all day and enjoyed the views and the wonderful selections of craft beer on tap. They even had a small, but good wine list for those who aren't drawn to beer (or cider). The prices were right and they had 2 food trucks on-site to fill whatever craving you have. Two food trucks is always better than one, since there is something for everyone. I really can't wait until the cold weather is back to bring my dog and just hang out here all day. I was disappointed that the llamas were out exploring so we didn't get to see them up-close and personal (I did see some from the road), but that's part of the fun and makes me want to come back. The whole concept for this place is just perfect and simple, and yet I don't think it can be recreated because, how can you recreate a million-dollar view?

Yelp
Scenery: Check Beer: Check Food Trucks: Check Amazing Sunset Views: Check If you want a chill spot to just enjoy the beautiful hill country views, the Shady Llama is it! We are talking chairs to relax, lights in the trees, corn hole, beer (they also have wine, cider, tea and lemonade), kid friendly, and from what I hear there are llamas. I think they had headed to bed when we arrived. We literally just sat and watched the sunset, and had an amazing time with our family. I tried a cranberry cider. We also got some amazing wings from a certain popular food truck that was there that night. Great place to stop after an afternoon at Jacob's Well, or wine tasting.
