Bartenders were friendly but $12 for a Guinness should be illegal. Especially when the prices for beer aren’t listed anywhere. Having one of the highest prices for a Guinness I’ve ever seen at an Irish pub with divey vibes in Queens is so wrong. The wings were very good. Mozzarella sticks were pretty good. The “quesadilla” was chicken cutlets cut up with half-melted American cheese pressed between tortillas. Also the prices we were charged for didn’t match the prices that were listed (I was overcharged by FIVE dollars for a crappy pretzel. Also- the menu noted pretzelS and I was given one.) So be sure to ask for an itemized receipt before you pay if you order food.

I noticed how everything tasted just right. The food impresses completely. The other entrees I've experienced were satisfactory. This worker conversed actively with numerous diners. Coming back is absolutely required.

A+ neighborhood bar! We watched most of the Super Bowl at Shannon’s Pot. The bartender, Ahmed, made sure everyone’s glasses were full and that we all had a good time. I was there with my husband, but we left the bar having made friends with multiple people. Ahmed even signed the T-shirt I won!

Came here on a Sunday afternoon to watch the Giants game. They have dog-friendly outdoor seating with small shanty-like structures that each have their own small TV with audio! My friends and I posted up in one of these tiny outdoor rooms which looked a bit crampy from the outside but turned out to be pretty cozy. Inside, there’s a couple big screen TVs and typical bar seating. The waitress was super friendly, was affectionate with my dog, had a great positive attitude, accommodated our request to change the TV from golf to football, and even gave us free shots before we left! We each had a few beers and some brunch plates and I enjoyed all of them. I’ll definitely be coming back here to watch the Giants games on Sundays.

I walked in and asked for a menu and received eye rolls. The bar tender came to my table and asked what I wanted, I asked for a menu and received eye rolls. I can underrated this response if it was closing, but it’s 12:00 am so I have 4 hours left. Overall, skip this place. Bad attitudes, nobody is there, not worth your time.

If I could give this place a million stars, I would because this establishment is more deserving of it than any others I’ve been to. Hole in the wall bar that makes you feel like you’re part of a community. Asad is by and far one of the best, if not the best bartenders I’ve ever met. He makes you feel like you’re family and you’re at home. And in regards to the bar food- some of the best I’ve ever had. HIGHLY recommend the mozz sticks and buffalo wings. Long story short, if you live in or are visiting LIC, this bar has been my go to for years. You won’t regret coming here.

Great neighborhood pub, just reopened in it's 3rd location. Real commitment there! Great food and drink and even better service. Most welcoming bartenders, and the owner Maureen is the sweetest lady! Happy to have them in LIC.

The Shannon Pot is a great Irish pub in Long Island City. Friendly staff, bright atmosphere. And if you're looking for a bucket of 10 PBR for $20 then boy do I have the place for you. (It's this place.)

I've been playing soccer with my friends at Murray Park in Long Island City, Queens, twice a week for years. After our games, we traditionally head to Shannon Pot 2 bar since it's conveniently located just a few minutes away. We usually enjoy some beer and food while sitting outside at the large wooden table. Today, I arrived at the bar a bit earlier and decided to wait for my friends on the small metal bench outside, which is typically used by smokers. While I was waiting, an elderly lady approached me and asked, "Are you comfortable?" I responded politely with, "Yes, thank you." She then said, "It's my bench and you shouldn't be here," essentially telling me that I wasn't welcome. To clarify, the bar was completely empty, both inside and outside, with no other customers in sight. I explained that I was waiting for my friends and mentioned that we usually come here to eat and drink. Her tone immediately changed, and she claimed to remember us. At this point, I told her that with such a nasty attitude, we would never come here again. It's worth mentioning that the bar is quite old and has an unpleasant smell inside, which is why we always choose to sit outside. After this incident, we decided to try "Fifth Hammer" brewery instead and had a fantastic time. There is also Gentry Bar on Vernon Street, which is a much better option among many other great places in the area. I strongly recommend exploring other venues because Shannon Pot 2 bar doesn't treat their customers with respect. We will never step foot in this place ever again!

Friendliest place in New York, the Guinness is as good as in Ireland, food looked good and the bar is really authentic as is the service!

Neighborhood spots can be hard to find if you're queer and or Black and or both. The dream of finding somewhere like Cheers often feels like a true figment of your imagination. So, when spots like Shannon Pot appear on your radar, you're of course a little skeptical. Don't be. From the bartenders to the locals that hang here, this place is wonderful. For a sports bar, their stock of liquor is truly unmatched. Their beer deals are also wild. As in you can get 10 Genesee Cream Ales for $20. Conveniently located by The Gutter, and few breweries you're also in great company. Long Island City has changed rapidly over the years, so spots like Shannon Pot still existing are truly special. Grab a drink here. It will turn into countless rounds.

This is their 3rd location that they went to, still a great place. The prices went up a little on certain items. The parm sandwhich is now $15 not $12. The bathrooms are now unisex and theres two. The jukebox is in the back. Theres no outlets to charge your phone. They always get 5 stars in my book because they are a neighborhood bar. The staff is always nice. The food is still good which is great. They changed up their mozzarella sticks to the thicker ones. But the price went up slightly. It just seems like it is more roomy now. There isn't a bar area in the back like the old bar had. The space is a 5 out of 5. I'm glad the same people are working there. Also there is more TVs. Glad they reopened. The kitchen closes at 11pm on a Thursday. They have a pbr special 10 for $20. That's not too bad especially when you're on a budget. They are one block away from the E & M and two blocks from the G and 3 to 4 blocks from the 7 train. They are handicapped friendly because their entrance has ramps on both sides.

Terrible bar food. Tried the steak sandwich for 18 hilarious dollars. What a joke. Don't waste your time here.

This bar is definitely my favorite to go to it's close by. It is also cheap and the bartenders are really great. Emir is our bartender and she's great. I love that this is their 3rd location and they are still in the neighborhood. You have to try their irish nachos by far the best thing ever. When they have a bar menu sometimes it's not on the menu. Just ask they will kindly give you it. The kitchen closes on Wednesdays at 10pm. I'm not sure about other days. You'll catch my bartender during weekdays. The bar itself has outlets to charge your phone. Also there's free wifi what millenial doesn't love that? Depending on the night there are more people at this bar than usual. New Years Eve here was such a delight. Free food was given after midnight, hello empanadas.

I came in because of their homemade beef empanadas sign without even realizing it was a bar. The menu look good and the ambience of the place was pretty inviting. Looking forward to come back for happy hour. Unfortunately, the homemade empanadas didn't delivered. The order was 3 for$9 with a side of garlic bread. They were good size and looked great. The problem was the filling. It was not good. It had a weird taste and the beef didn't even look like beef. The garlic bread was amazing. They were toasted raisin rolls with an generous amount of butte. Delicious! Bartender was friendly.

2 one oz shots of Jameson, 1 Guinness and 1 Coors light is $41 and change.. never again

I really want to like this place as the bartenders are nice and the vibe is chill, but the prices are pretty ridiculous for what you get. It's a typical Irish/dive bar in queens, but you pay like you are in flatiron. I got a bottle of miller (which is like 3-5 at most bars in queens/Brooklyn) and they charged me 8. I mean... common. I want to support local businesses, but the prices are kind of a deal breaker.

It's a five-star, no a one-star, OK, I'll go two, and that's it. It will be my one and only experience here. I stay in the 'hood doing the airbnb thing from time to time and coming in late last night but with still a bit of energy, thought I'd check this place out. Wow, what an intimate little interior that seems to hark back to another time long ago. Or maybe made to look like that. The bar sure seems like wood and a design easily 50-70 years old. The place is very long and narrow. Nice selection of tap beers, and at first the bartender seemed nice enough. It was quiet, but with a few TVs showing basketball games. Bartender seemed wrapped up in conversation with folks that he clearly knew. So everything seemed great, and for some reason he turns on the most obnoxious FM station playing really loud and bad 80s rock--when the station wasn't blaring five-minute long commercials. Finally, one comes on for -- I'm not making this up -- some kind of prostrate health center. Several of us at one end of the bar start laughing about it and we get the evil glare from sir bartender. He comes down and turns up the volume. Wow. Five stars go to one. Then... gets weirder. Guy walks in, says his mother died and he needs money to get back to Maryland. Bartender goes over, grabs a five out of the register and tells the guy, "here you go." Guy walks out. Bartender shrugs and says "some people are just down on their luck. Easier sometimes," (or something like that). OK, guy has a heart I guess. I finish my drink, he can't be flagged without making a scene, and I'm in no hurry so cool my heels. Couple comes in and sits near me so he finally makes an appearance. I give him a $20 for a $17 bill and leave. Funny how a place that could be so great is made into a crapper by someone with a funky, unfriendly attitude. In a city where competition is fierce, seems service would be a premium. Apparently not. If you come: don't be looking for artisanal craft ryes or beet martinis. This is a two-fisted neighborhood joint with tap beers and hard liquor. Good luck if you come. Maybe Mr. Surly will be your bartender.

A go to spot if you want to be overcharged, funny me and my friend arrived within minutes of each other were charged different prices for the SAME DRINK. If you want to be looked at funny for being a darker skinned person. Perfect place if you're of the Caucasian persuasion or if you're an Asian woman the bartender can fantasize about fulfilling his internal fetish with.

This place is a good spot when it's raining and you still wanna chill and talk with friends over some beer. Staff was friendly. Even though only few of us were there, still managed to check our vaccination cards(no excuses) which was good so we can all be safe. They also have outdoor with shed so you have options as to where you would be most comfortable.

Went in for a couple of drinks and we ordered Jameson on the rocks and all of just looked at each other at same time and stated "it is watered down' we did not say anything thinking maybe the ice melted in the glass so we ordered a 2nd round neat and YES it was wa ater down! We mention this to server that denied it but while we were waiting a customer sitting at the bar told us do not order whiskey unless you want it watered down. In closing we do not need business in our hood that does this to customers.

I live on the upper west side. I work at the theater just down the road of this awesome bar. This is one of the FEW bars left in NYC that feel like a real pub. Not some corporate rehash or someone's idea of a pub. The drinks are low priced and get to you fast. All the bar tenders there will treat you like a regular even if you have never been there. Remember - this is a pub/bar so if your looking for fancy cocktail atmosphere - don't go in. However something that you always hear at the bar is laughter. Yes, real laughter. There is an eclectic mix of people of all types. All laughing and just there to drink and socialize. The bar has the feel of a neighborhood pub and that unique blend of "Cheers" meets a dive bar in Ireland. Good bar food, cheap drinks and friendly service. If you want champagne and a fancy dress- go to manhattan. If you want a bar that makes you feel like Norm from cheers... come to the pot!

One of the best places ever. Amazing server in Asad, he was incredible. Great person. Food was awesome. Got the zucchini stx & Irish nachos. They had outdoor seating enclosed with TVs. One of the best places to visit. Highly recommend.

If i could leave 0 stars I would. Ordered food from here and was extremely disappointed. The "french onion soup" was a cup of chicken noddle soup with french onion soup toppings. very disappointing especially for a $10 cup of soup. Also ordered the grilled cheese with fries. The fries were hard and tasted like cardboard. The grilled cheese was such poor quality I could not even stomach it. $23 for a fake french onion soup and inedible grilled cheese and fries was not worth it. the included "garlic bread" was a hamburger bun which seemed to have no garlic whatsoever. I have had better food from a high school cafeteria. Do not waste your time or money ordering from here, it is not worth it. never again...

So happy to see Shannon Pot back up in running during the Pandemic '20. They are still serving get drinks with great respect to everyone's safety and well being while making the neighborhood happy right now. I'll be there for my get-and-go this evening. See you then.

Awesome spot. SUper friendly owner. Amazing chicken soup (rest of food is pretty good too). And good beer specials. TV set up is great. No frills and they do it well.

First time here last night. Doesn't look like much from the outside but was actually pretty fun! They have darts in the back and some awesome beer bucket specials. Some TVs along the bar with sports on. A few long tables for larger groups up front. We got the buffalo wings and they were yummy. Fast service, can't ask for much more from a dive bar. Would come back again.

This place is a total dive, but I love it. I have been here 3 times and have had an amazing drunken time on every occasion. I have had the same bartender and he is a very nice gentleman, not chatty, but knows his job well. He remembered my parties round of drinks every time I went to the bar, and the place was slammed. I see some other people have had bad experiences; I am not sure how that is possible. The place is large with clean bathrooms, and relatively reasonable prices! This is my neighborhood five star dive bar.

This was the first time going to their new location. I was very excited when I first stepped in. Nice vibe. This is a regular spot where CUNY Law students go and I was feeling very at home. When we went to leave after a few hours, my school bag which contained my laptop and personal items, was nowhere to be found. Allegedly, there are no cameras in the bar and we were not able to see when and how the bag disappeared. The bag was never unattended because one of us was always present with our bags. Please be cautious with your bags. Note to owner, please install cameras.

Amazing food - they make everything there so the french fries are from potatoes, red pepper hummus is homemade, etc! Service is like going to your favorite aunt and uncles place and having a drink. Salah, Emur and Maureen are the best!

Went here on a pretty late Friday night. If you're just looking for some place quiet to enjoy a drink and/or meal, this is a good place to go. The bartender was quite nice and attentive. Their food is served in big portions so very filling and pretty cheap for what you'll be getting. I had the fish and chips. Usually fish and chips in other places are quite bland, but the ones from Shannon Pot are good! The batter was excellent and the taste was perfect. I also had a Tequila Sunrise and the bartender made a really good one. At the end, we also got a free shot. Which makes this place extra awesome!

Came. Ordered a double Jameson. It was mixed with well. I noted that to the bartender who said so what.

Live 2 minutes away and came for the first time. It's a cozy bar very cheers like. They have all top shelf liquor which impressed me. Drinks are good and service was great! It my new place to go. Loved it!

Lovely looking dive bar, should be terrific. But buyer beware: not only was the bartender surly, he overcharged massively for two drinks - my guess was to pocket the difference. And when I gently asked if he was sure about that price he wigged out and was a huge dick about it. So if you go just get a can of beer and ask the cost first.

I just moved to Long island City, and I REALLY love this place! After the whitewashing of five points, this place closed its doors. its at an new location now. So when i saw this, i was devastated. I had been there before, and remembered the drinks being cheap. Imagine my pleasure when, upon picking up my laundry, i see that they have moved! That same evening I gave them a visit. its a bit small, but the drinks are refreshingly inexpensive and the place is still very atmospheric. A must see!

Hummus burger was good. The Mozzeralla sticks delicious. The location is very roomy nice spot to have a low key night. The back area has TV's I went during the world series. The chicken wings really hit the spot.

We were introduced to this place when my parents stumbled in here a few months back before a Mets game. The bartender is extremely friendly and helped me make my food selection. A simple as the bread basket was, the butter/bread combination tasted amazing. I order a Shepherd's Pie and it was one of the best things I have ever tasted. The cooked mashed potatoes on top kept the heat of the tender beef, vegetables and broth. Apparently the sandwiches are pretty darn good as well. FYI: They will be moving in July to a new spot (we will search them out and find them!

I spent most evenings in here whilst visiting friends and staying in an Airbnb apartment over the street and I loved it. The landlady Maureen was adorable and really kind and polite and so was the other bartender although I didn't catch her name. I'll definitely revisit when I'm next in LIC.

I ordered the veggie burger with fries which was good and the lady who works the place is really nice and friendly and actually talked with us!

Every time I come here I get the same rude waiter. He always has a nasty attitude. The last time I was there I ordered the Mozzarella sticks which tasted absolutely disgusting and since I didn't eat them he takes it personally and starts interrogating me over why I didn't like them. "Well what was wrong with them? What don't you like about them? What part didn't you like? The cheese? The batter? *scoffs and rolls eyes*" Seriously? ALL OF IT! It's not MY fault your food tastes like plastic! I ended up being charged full price for eating a bite of one mozzarella stick. Talk about a rip off. The only food I'll be ordering from this place from now on is beer, since it's prepackaged and at least I know what it'll taste like. I'll come here if my friends are, but otherwise I rather starve then voluntarily go here.

Stopped in with friends while searching for a train near the F/G line and there she was. It's got an old man'd bar/dive feel, without the smell of skunked beer. It's long and reminds me of an old train car, cozy, multiple entrances and a menu of small bites in case you walk in with the munchies. Cheap, full bar, and the bartender bought us a round of baby guinesses which I thought was a nice touch.

Ok so I don't like giving bad reviews unless I had a REALLY bad experience. I went to this place in 2010 at their previous location but its better late than never to write a review. I am a brown guy and I went there with one of my white friends. First of all, the look they gave me as soon as I walked in was like they wanted to hang me down or something. Second of all I really had to use the restroom first so this is what they said "DUDE YOU HAVE TO BE A CUSTOMER TO USE THE RESTROOM" Ummm what?!?!? If Im inside that means I'm a customer!! Just cause I want to use the restroom first and then buy a drink doesn't mean I am not allowed to use the restroom. Third of all, when they gave the check they just threw it at me. At that point I JUST HAD ENOUGH. I ABSOLUTELY GAVE NO TIPS!! AND ME AND MY FRIEND JUST WALKED OUT after paying the bill. My friend wanted to say something but I told her not to. We were only there for about 20 minute. We are living in the 21th century now, we came too far to live with this type of discrimination.

I was glad and pleasantly surprised to see that the Shannon Pot didn't have to shutdown for good along with 5 Pointz and was able to just move a few blocks over to this new location. Evidently, the previous tenants of the building just so happened to be moving out as the Shannon Pot needed a new home. I like the vibe in here, and although I wouldn't quite call the prices "cheap" like others are doing, they are fair. I had good conversation with another customer -- it seems to be the right kind of place to find a new friend to chat with. I didn't get a chance to eat any food here, but I will probably do that on one of my next visits.

Came here around 8pm on a Thursday night with some classmates and had a great experience. There is a long, narrow bar for people to sit at, and a quieter back room with tables for larger groups. There are TVs everywhere, which makes this an ideal place to watch the game. The bartender was extremely attentive and quick, and he was nice enough to hook us up with and extra beer and a shot after we ordered a few pitchers and shot/beer combos. Our first pitcher of Anchor IPA tasted a little flat and the second pitcher of their in house-brewed ale taste a lot like cider, but the chicken tenders and jalapeno poppers were tasty, hot and fresh. It's funny how this place is listed as a dive bar - it's actually more low-key classy.This place is a hidden gem and I look forward to going back.

I only came here for drinks, so don't know about the food, but I have to say that I loved this bar. Especially because it is just that, a normal bar: the man behind the bar was friendly, people there seemed to know each other and were nice too, they played good music on the jukebox, and beer was fresh. That's all I ask for in a bar.

Greatest bar! The staff is super friendly and pleasant, drinks are great and every inexpensive. Don't get me started on the food, it's amazing!! Lovee the Shannon Pot!

This is a great neighborhood spot. Friendly, lively, it does the trick for a casual experience in the midst of mixology vibes of the other bars nearby. The prices are average. The lights are a little bright in there for me.

All we ordered was some apps. Food was very overcooked and made me sick that night. It tasted like whatever grease they fried it in wasn't changed for the longest time. I won't be going back

Went in with not many expectations and gotta say the burger was shockingly good as were the fries... Definitely seems like the hipsters have found it though... For better or worse
