This was our first stop in St Louis for food. We stayed for Labor Day weekend. Seriously some of the best BBQ we’ve had! The staff were so inviting, friendly, and patient. We had a baby with us and all. Amazing inside and out. Clean inside and out. The food was fresh, came out in a timely manner, and well worth the wait. It’s a bit pricey, but definitely good for it! We definitely expected some more options with duck, but there weren’t but two. And one was food cooked in duck fat.

Went for the first time last night. Had some amazing margaritas and food service from Paige. The smothered fries were gooey and delicious. Best shrimp and grits EVER, and I had it with the collard greens and cornbread. I'll go back for this same meal again and again! My husband has the ribs with coleslaw and brussel sprouts. The crispy brussel sprouts were addictive! 5 stars!

First time here. I agree with the other reviews to ignore that it's in an unassuming neighborhood. Don't let that fool you! The food is AMAZING & service was great. Would definitely recommend it & come back next time in the area.

The locations of the restaurant isn't what we expected, it seems it's in the middle of a neighborhood. Don't let that stop you!! The food, the atmosphere, the service is all excellent. We saw The Shaved Duck many years ago on a TV Show, so it was must try! I had a 3 meat plate! All was wonderful, the loaded fries appetizer was amazing! So many sauce choices!

My son and I went to The Shaved Duck at 5 on a Friday night hoping to beat the crowd. We were pleasantly surprised we were just the 3rd table to be filled. The atmosphere was quaint and welcoming. The service was friendly and wonderful in offering suggestions. The food was delicious! We loved everything we ordered and walked away very satisfied. We found this place by looking up “Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives” in the St Louis area…and felt this one looked the best! I’m so glad we chose this place! 👍🏽from Lincoln, Ne!

This place gives you the hole-in-the-wall restaurant feel, as it's relatively small and located in a quiet neighborhood. At first, we even thought it was closed! The inside was also pretty calm, compared to other BBQ joins I've been to, and had live music playing. As for the food, we got the duck breast, the pulled-pork smothered fries, and a daily-special tri-tip sloppy joe. All tasted great. The duck breast was paired with a berry jam, kind of like the cranberry pairing for turkey, so it might be a hit or miss for some people. The smothered fries was a big portion with generous cheese and would probably be enough for a 1-person entree. The only complain I have was the daily-special side collard greens - it had bacon and probably extra salt seasoning and was super salty. Overall, the food came out fast, and the service was great.

Some dang good bbq! Started with the cornbread topped with honey butter. Split Old Big Jimmy with my wife, 3 meat - pulled pork, pulled chicken, and meatloaf (that came with its own amazing sauce) and also added 3 ribs so we could try a little bit of each…so deliciously tender and full of flavors! I’m not a fan of slaw but theirs is great paired with the feast they set before you. Can’t forget the fries…crispy, seasoned with what I believe to be garlic salt, pepper, and oregano (again just what I tasted), I couldn’t stop eating them. For our third side we went with the bbq beans. OMG. All that to say if you’re a fan of bbq you need to experience this establishment for yourself.

Oof....was recommended as the best BBQ in St Louis. The burnt ends were smothered in some type of sweet bbq sauce and tasted like hot dogs. Could have been the sauce. The other meats were okay (pulled pork, smoked chicken) The sauces were all a bit strange. I didn't find one out of the six available that I thought paired with the meats. The cornbread was quite good.
