"Siblings Brad Orrison and Brooke Lewis run The Shed BBQ & Blues Joint and The Saucery in Ocean Springs, Mississippi, where they specialize in crafting high-quality, Southern-style barbecue. Their baby back ribs in particular are among their most popular items — Guy Fieri even featured them on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives." - Avery Dalal

This place is so cool. Probably one of the most eclectic and cool places that I've ever been. We had the Pulled Pork with Mac n Cheese and Baked Beans. All of this was phenomenal. Enjoyed every bite. We also had the Ribs with Mac n Cheese and French Fries. The Ribs were okay. They were a bit over-smoked and tasted like they had sat under a warmer for a little long in my humble opinion. We upsized our portions and felt like that was just enough to fill us up. The service was good. The atmosphere was absolutely wonderful though. We went on a Friday night and there was a live blues band playing - it was so awesome. We explored a little before we left and the whole place is engulfed in really interesting items that make it so unique. It is a little bit pricey, but the atmosphere definitely makes up for it. Also, this establishment is pet friendly. We loved our experience. Worth a stop! Would go back again for sure.

Blown Away by this BBQ!!! WOW WOW WOW!!! A friend of ours who was stationed here 10 years ago told us (when he found out we would be passing through) that we HAD TO stop at The Shed! We are so happy we did! Their Ribs were fall of the bone tender and my husband commented it was the best brisket he had ever had! I know for sure it was THE BEST restaurant fried okra and potato salad we have ever had! So much so we went back for a second round of sides! Y’all this place has phenomenal food!!! The servers and staff were all friendly, welcoming and helpful, and the place itself has such a great vibe and atmosphere. We will definitely be revisiting and recommending it as much as we can!

I’ve been to well over a dozen BBQ places across the country and each region has its own uniqueness to its BBQ. The Shed is by my favorite type of BBQ!! We had, ribs, pulled pork, sliced brisket, and tons of sides. Our favorite side is the sweet potato casserole 😋 The ribs are outta this world! 🌎 They were incredibly juicy, the sauce was perfect, the bones just slide right out of the meat. The pulled pork is equally as delicious as the ribs. My kiddos tore into it and just devoured their plate. The portion sizes are just right! We came with a massive appetite and left stuffed the brim. No room for dessert this time around. The place itself is so cool. You have to go through a little bit of the maze to find the restroom, but that itself is fun. The entire place really does look like somebody’s shed. Somebody who just collected all of the things and never wanted to give up anything. You definitely should take your time walking through the entire shed. You can bring your dogs too!

Google
I order the pulled brisket BBQ plate with two sides: Mac N Cheese and Potato Salad. Very good. Big portion too. I ate half of it & the rest for supper that night. The service was great too. They came deliver it to your table & brought some lil cups of BBQ sauce. The restaurant had a guy playing some blues music and it wasn't too loud either. Which is surprising since most places play their music too loud to talk. Good selection of beer offered as well. I'd recommend. Stopped here on the way back from the beach in Florida going home to south Louisiana.

Google
Awesome food, service, and atmosphere! Place looks small from the front but extends way back. There is plenty of parking around the side and too the back as well. Fun place for kids to play, nice benches inside, outside, and even back by the water. A good tip is to use the qr code from the signs to order. There was a line of about 10-15 people to order at the bar. I did a mobile order and they come and find you with your food. Didn't have to wait in line once! Also, the brisket was good and the sweet potato casserole was outstanding! Great experience and definitely want to come back!

Google
First of all, everyone was friendly and real and the aliced brisket is like butter! (as were the mac&cheese and sweet potato sides). The campground is adjacent to some major road construction, so there was plenty of dust and noise by our slip duting working hours however that’s because we wanted a pull-through site. Full hookups at a grass site that was level and right next to a wifi repeater so we had some serious bandwidth. Overall, a wonderfully funky eclectic campground next to some if the best BarBQ I’ve ever had! We’ll be back!

Google
The chicken was good, the brisket was fine and the pulled pork was tasty. Not so much a fan of the ribs which seemed a little dry tonight. You have to walk up to the counter and Order and they bring it out to a picnic table. While everyone was friendly and it is in a very unique atmosphere it wasn't like the service was great. It was a good experience and the prices were reasonable. I'm sure there's a lot of fun and enjoyment going on at this place. It's a very unique atmosphere and you almost need a map to find the restrooms. There's always a place that everybody needs to visit at least one time just to say you've been there. The Shed would be the place to visit. It's definitely unique and worth a visit. Judge for yourself by my pictures lol.

Google
Got to eat at the Shed today after a round of golf. As a BBQ foodie I have wanted to eat here since hearing about this place years ago. Bottom line it did not disappoint. Ribs and Brisket were very tasty but completely slathered in the house sauce. It would have been nice to try the meats without sauce and then try the sauce options. I would make this recommendation because everything came pre-sauced which I did not know. It was also a little difficult to find the ordering point but maybe that was done on purpose because they have plenty of swag. Their Mac and Cheese was a white cheese base and the beans were both sweet and smoky with some nice slow cooked onion taste. The portions were plentiful as well I got the jumbo because the price difference was minimal. I enjoyed my visit and it was worth the drive today. You could smell this place as you walk in, a definite great sign of of a solid BBQ place!!

Sabrina V.

Yelp
My brother recommended this place and it's probably been about 5-8 years since he last came here so obviously must be memorable and now I see why. The best BBQ on the Gulf Coast! I enjoyed the pulled pork sandwich & fried pickles. Drinks were great too. The cashiers were friendly and the food came out quick. You order at the counter then find a seat. There is a lot of tables so it's a great opti There is A LOT going on inside and outside but in a good way. If you go, explore the grounds a little bit. If it's cold, I recommend bringing a jacket. Though I could imagine the place is even better in the summer time! They have live music on weekends which is awesome and a great place to experience with friends.

Paul I.

Yelp
This is a BBQ joint that has style and pizazz. It also has eclectic charm and mirror balls and chandeliers. It also has some of the best BBQ I have had in years. The brisket I had was sliced but you didn't need a knife to cut it. So delicious I recommend this place to anyone who loves BBQ. Oh, and beans aren't bad either.

Kristin C.

Yelp
This place was crazy! LOL!!!! So much to look at. Food was great. We had the pulled pork fried okra and sweet potato side. We would definitely return when there was a band. Looks like an awesome place to enjoy some bbq and music.

Richard J.

Yelp
March 9, 2024 The food was sooooooo good! I was pleasantly surprised by how tasty the food is and the great customer service. Never judge a book by its cover. The uniques setting is very entertaining. Thank You The Shed. We will definitely return.

Maggie M.

Yelp
Stopped in while on a road trip. Food was good. Service was fast and the location has plenty of parking and a unique look. Definitely a fun place to stop. All it is kids friendly.

Tiffany T.

Yelp
Stopped in to stretch our legs on a road trip. Enjoyed pork rinds and a frosty beverage.

Carlo D.

Yelp
I've had this place in my bookmarks forever since I saw it on DDD with Guy Fiery. It just so happens that I'm in Biloxi for business and had to finally come here. I got the 2 meat combo that comes with 2 sides; went with the brisket and their home made sausage, collard greens and Mac n cheese. Brisket was tender and well seasoned, the sausage has good flavor but could be salty for some, so you'll need to eat it with neutral starch. The Mac and cheese is not your typical yellow cheddar flavoured type, but a white creamier upscale version, very good. The ambiance of the place is very "free", friendly staff and service. They have a bunch of souvenirs and packaged items they make for tourists to take on the road. Worth a stop for some good legendary barbecue!

Amy C.

Yelp
Sorry but this was some of the worst barbecue I've had. Dry meat smothered in over sweet sauce. Sides were good but definitely did not make up for the terrible meat.

Helen C.

Yelp
Had the two item combo plate the brisket and turkey both were flavorful moist and delicious. Fun little town all of its own. You'll know it when you get there. Definitely would come again.

Keith W.

Yelp
You will never eat in a restaurant as interesting as this one. Gravel floors , wooden picnic tables , literally located in a shed. The epitome of eclectic! I had beef brisket sandwich with baked beans and sweet potato casserole. My wife had pulled pork plate with collard greens. Food was excellent. A must stop of you are anywhere close to Biloxi.

Michael B.

Yelp
Another great visit! It's not fancy and it's not fine dining but it is excellent food. You sit on wooden picnic tables and eat out of a to go box but the food is amazing! Brisket and pulled pork were great! The sides were also excellent! The service was great and the food comes out quickly. There's a convenient gas station across the street, so it's a good place to stop on a road trip. Come on by and enjoy some great BBQ. They had a guy singing and asking trivia questions for prizes but if that's not your thing, there was lots of seating in the adjoining room. Also have a gift shop with shirts, coffee mugs, bbq sauce and other things! Stop and enjoy!!!

Marie S.

Yelp
Best Bbq- we Always stop here on our drive to New Orleans The place doesn't look like much looks like it's name - the shed You can tell they added on a few times or I should say a lot of times but don't be fooled the food is Amazing! We ordered the pulled pork it was moist and had the right amount of sauce, no wonder they win so many awards. The okra was crispy and flavorful but the mac and cheese was really runny- it covered my hush puppies. They also have beer and wine. You should also check the live music hours. There is also a sand pit for the kids to play in.

Josh B.

Yelp
Love the atmosphere of this place. Was passing through my first time in Mississippi and this place gave that experience from food to environment. Love the shed look, lights, outdoor vibe. Potato salad was best I ever had. Greens had the bacon juiciness. Ribs and sausage were on point! The only thing was the brisket was a little tough.

Shayla J.

Yelp
Definitely an experience. It's a shed!! A large shed nevertheless. Everything is very authentic and eclectic. They serve alcohol and bbq and sometimes have live music. We missed it! The bbq was just okay but the aesthetics of the place were great! And the people were helpful!

Melissa E.

Yelp
Unveiled this bbq bliss in Ocean Springs, MS. 100% hands down the best brisket I've ever had. It was juicy, tender, smokey, and filled with so much flavor I literally almost cried when I ate my first bite ... tears of joy of course. Even better? This hidden gem has a vibrant atmosphere that transports you into bbq nirvana. With walls filled with quirky memorabilia, the contagious energy makes for a memorable experience. I already can't wait to go back. Usually, I take pictures of my food. But, for the first time ever the food was so good I forgot to take a picture. By the time I remembered, the food had already been devoured by me and my family!

Keith G.

Yelp
Awesome food, and atmosphere! Yourself a favor and experience the South in the way that it was meant to be with barbecue on your shirt music in your ears and a smile on your face!

Olivia L.

Yelp
This restaurant has been around for as long as I can remember! They have the best french fries and baked beans! And they have one of the best bbq ribs i've ever had! I love that they have outside sitting so you can bring your dogs and there's a lot of space for your kids to play!

David Y.

Yelp
Purchased a rack of ribs ($39.00) and 1/2 pound sausage. Ribs were dry and tasteless Sausage was really good. I think they are too much in the mass production mode and have lost "The Shed" quality and taste that made them a great BBQ destination. I have spent my last dollar there

Holly M.

Yelp
Stopped on a road trip. Delicious food and a great place for the kids!! I hope I can find the White Chocolate Moo Hoo (milk stout) again!!! We got the brisket, mac and cheese, and fried pickles. I would love to go meet the happy hour crew that frequents the place ;)

Whitney J.

Yelp
Let's start off by mentioning that this is not just a restaurant. The shed is a whole ass vibe. It's a place to go eat, hang out, have parties, and do much more! It's a place to go with friends or family. There are so many different brews to choose from, so you can always find something you like. The food is pretty amazing! I always have to order several plates with different sides because I NEED a bite of EVERYTHING! They even boil crawfish sometimes! This place is like a backyard party, and what's crazy is that the staff are people you'd want to invite to your backyard. The Shed reminds me of the book "The Lion, the witch, and the Wardrobe" because it's like walking into a different world. A MUST VISIT.

Mary H.

Yelp
Best BBQ around hands down. And- the most delicious potato salad ever!! We always stop here on way back to Mobile from NOLA.

Tina P.

Yelp
We were in Ocean Springs last week and decided to go to The Shed. I had seen it on the Food Network and we both like BBQ so we went to see if it was really good BBQ. FIRST let me say it really was a strange looking place had I not heard and seen it on TV I doubt we would have stopped. Second since was in February and a Monday afternoon the place was not busy we were able to get our food quickly. You enter into the Shed and whine around different items for sale. You place your order and pay then you find a picnic table to sit at and they will bring you the food. It's brought out in a to go box. My husband ordered the pulled pork plate and I ordered the chicken plate. Our sides were potato salad and coleslaw, baked beans. We both ordered drinks (nonalcoholic). The total for the 2 plates was about 40.00. There was plenty of food we even took some home with us. Now they do put BBQ sauce on the food which is very good. We enjoyed everything we had. I prefer potato salad with a more mustard base but this was fine. We walked around the place which very interesting. The bathrooms are very far away you have to walk a maze to get to them. All and all it was a nice experience. I could see where it could get really wild in the summer months. There is a play area for kids and adults. It's a hodgepodge of junk which is exactly what is expected at a place called the Shed.

Alexandria M.

Yelp
I stumbled upon this establishment while scrolling the web as a passenger looking for a good lunch driving from Gulf Shores back to New Orleans! What a treat we stumbled upon. Right off the freeway and into an eclectic park of memories and mementos all put together to create The Shed. It ambience really lived up to the name!! I appreciated the clean restrooms and the and notice the path upstairs which made this accessible to all with nice paths for a walker/wheelchair/stroller if you needed. This joint had so much to offer and I think a lot of it was closed due it being a random Tuesday in March. I could tell this place has to get hoppin' in the Summer especially with live music and crawfish boil. I think there were parts I didn't even get to exploring! We were lucky that the main gift shop and restaurant was open. I ordered a drink and walked around the grounds and to the dock. Everywhere I looked there was something new to look at. When it was time to order lunch (after I wandered) I was worried it would take long since there were about 20 people in line (we were driving to catch a flight) and the server assured me to order as it would not take more than 10 minutes. Food was out and to our table with in 5 minutes! We ordered the regular combo plate with brisket and pulled pork and added a side sausage sandwich. This was way too much food. The portions are enormous, we were sharing this for two people and still couldn't finish, didn't even touch the toast! Sausage Sandwich- sausage was tasty with a mild kick and complemented well with the bbq sauce. Could have skipped the bun and just ordered a side of sausage. It might have been better dressed up with some coleslaw or something else, needed some pizazz. Mac&Cheese - tasted like when you leave you Kraft Mac & Cheese out of the stove for 30 minutes and it looses the charm. Big pass for me, tasted like it was reheated from the weekend. Fried Okra - Good, I liked how the size of the golden green veggies, especially for dipping. The red ranch was a little runny and not a ton of flavor. Brisket - very generous portion and flavor was awesome. This was the showstopper of the meal. It was juicy and well worth the stop. Pulled Pork - pretty good, not super memorable or something to run back for. I added a bunch of the spicy BBQ sauce to this which was yummy! Cucumber Chiller - it was sweet but so refreshing on a warm day. Cucumber with a hint of orange and citrus. Hit the spot! I would come back again and really intrigued at all they have to offer when during their main season. Good food but the ambiance really sealed the deal and made this a charming memory.

Yelp
Just off the Interstate-10 (which runs from Santa Monica, CA to Jacksonville, FL) in Mississippi by the MS-57 Freeway you'll find this oasis of BBQ, crawfish boils and a swampy Bayou with alligators and snapping turtles. You cannot miss this place, It's definitely eclectic with the various decorations and trinquets strewn about. We ordered the meals so that we could try various meats and sides. You can order by weight as well. We got the gone by 2pm very popular Brisket, the ribs with potato salad, hush puppies (oh so yummy), Coleslaw, baked beans, Mac n chz and collard greens. The food was good, ribs fell off the bone, baked beans were on point, Brisket was a little overcooked for me, Mac n chz was edible nothing to write home about. The band was on a break when we got inside, we heard them finishing their last ballad as we were walking up from the vehicle. Dedinitely going again!

Mike F.

Yelp
What's that slogan? Get fed at the shed? Yeah, that's what is gonna happen here- bbq is on point, sauce is boss and to round it out the venue is really eclectic with a full bar to serve your thirst and desires. Live music on a huge outdoor stage brings the experience full circle. Overall- outstanding experience to be had every time.

David V.

Yelp
Very cool and unique place. The Brisket is good and I like the vibe. I would come back here.

Rachelle C.

Yelp
Such a fun place!! Here as a Harvest Host and everyone was so friendly. Food was great and the vibe was just so fun and funky! Definitely will become a repeat stop on future I-10 treks!

Olive O.

Yelp
I called from the road with a half hour lead time. Our food took at least another ten minutes when we got there. I ordered a whole chicken which was so dry, you could not swallow it. 1 pound of brisket which was so fatty and spicy you could not decipher what it was, and a half of ribs which consisted of 4 or 5 tiny ribs also too spicy and dry to eat. We also ordered coke slaw which was definitely sour. All this food was very expensive. We had been here a year ago and raved about this place. What a shame. Went down the tubes

Cherie H.

Yelp
Oh my word! This baby is delicious. Ordered 5-6# ham from Goldbelly and am very pleased with the taste. Smoky, sweet, salty. Although the instructions don't call for broiling the top, I did in order to get that mahogany color and a bit of crisp on top. Have baby limas soaking to make beans later and egg, celery & onions chopped to make ham salad too. Biscuits baking too! We will definitely be "ham"mered! Lol! Now for the bad, I would have given this 5 stars but have to knock off a star because after slicing through it, I found that it is at least 50% bone. So the cost is extraordinarily high for the amount of meat you get, so it's kind of a rip off. But damn it's good!

Regina K.

Yelp
Was visiting in Biloxi someone suggested The Shed for great bbq.Had heard of the Shed from the Food Network show Dinner drive/inns and dives. Was not impressed the place in general . Gravel floors, picnic tables that was too low and dusty inside and out.The lady taking our order was rude and very impatient. She did not eat to hear this was our first time here We ordered the half ribs with 2 sides.Baby we was totally disappointed when arrived. Ribs not smoked nor bbq no seasoning no smoked taste.tasted like they had been cooked in a crock pot !!!!! Collars green tooo salty to eat best part of the meal was the Pepsi and hush puppies!!! We had better bbq from the food truck on Beach Blvd!!!! Would give negative if I could ! Most definitely will NOT recommend!!!

Gail J.

Yelp
Ordered takeout. The sliced brisket was outstanding! Full rack of ribs - delicious but the meat fell off the bone when slicing the ribs. I like to eat the meat off the bone. The ribs were over cooked for me. Chicken was cooked just right. Also had potato salad, coleslaw, and Mac & cheese. All were great. Would definitely eat here again. Service was quick and very friendly.

Jhen B.

Yelp
On our road-trip to Florida, coming from the west we were struggling to find a restaurant that was open for dinner on NYE. We stumbled across a sign ( the shed bbq ) on the way, little did we know...., we heard about this famous iconic bbq joint so thought we would stop In to see if they were open ahhhh yesss!!!! glad we stopped in !! Awesome service, super cool interesting atmosphere, food is excellent from briskets, chicken, ribs, hush puppies love the potato salad very satisfying, overall we throughly enjoyed ourselves, cant wait to come back !!!!

Ann S.

Yelp
dirty and over priced. I've had much better BBQ in many other places. Parking was bad. Will never return. I've given it 3 tries never to return.

Rich G.

Yelp
If your travels find you on I 10 in eastern Mississippi on highway 57 north of I10 (maybe a 1/2 mile on your left) you should stop and have some BBQ at the Shed. (You should also visit some of the other restaurants in Ocean Springs MS - neat downtown area). We stopped by for lunch. Enter and place & pay for your order at the window. They get your name and bring the food to you. Loved my bbq ribs and my wife's brisket was great. We ordered the plate which comes with two sides. We had potato salad, greens, fries - all yummy. (They ran out of coleslaw today - really love their coleslaw- next time). This place has so many "yard art" things that just needs to be photographed and shared with others. Over the years hurricanes have 'rearranged things' - you'll notice the restrooms are located up on stilts so if it floods they will not be destroyed - what can I say - it's The Shed.

Vi G.

Yelp
Awesome place atmosphere it's unique food is outstanding very friendly staff! If your a man checkout the stall in the men's room kinda cool.

Marcus P.

Yelp
Hands down the best bbq I've had. The food was great the atmosphere and ambiance was amazing and service was quick. Can't wait to go back.

Melva R.

Yelp
Very unique place, worth to visit to eat brisket or pulled pork which is what I got. Very meaty sandwiches!

Janie G.

Yelp
It was a fun place to visit. I was looking for a pet friendly place and enjoy good food and live music. We drove 2 hours with our dog to try The Shed! I was so excited to visit. The food was amazing! I wish I would've known that live music is only inside where dogs are not allowed. I was bummed. Also be prepared to stand in line for everything.

Mermer N.

Yelp
Ambiance was great for a country, bar and BBQ spot! Pricing was comparable; got a pulled pork plate $16 and 3 soft drinks was about $9- all about the same as a regular restaurant. so I'm not sure where the negative review from 3 months ago has been eating lately but I thought for the amount of (best bbq I've ever had) food it was just right. Service was great, very personable and friendly. loved it and wish we could've stayed longer!

Jonathan G.

Yelp
This place has some of the best BBQ I have ever had in my life! I have traveled around this country and have had BBQ from many places, and the style that they have here at the Shed is perfect. I can see how they are an award-winning restaurant. You can really taste the care that they take in making their food. There was not a dish that I had from them that I did not like. I tried every meat dish they had on my first visit. The smoked chicken wings were sweet and smokey. I personally like my chicken wings spicey, but this was a new take for me, and it was great. The brisket was melted in my mouth! The chew was mouth-watering and easy to bite. The flavor is right on point, not too heavy with smoke, and the flavor of the meat highlights itself without sauce. The baby-back ribs fall off the bone. The sauce covered every inch of this dish and sticks to your bones! Man, this was good. If you love ribs and brisket, you will not be disappointed. Then there is the pulled pork. Just like everything else, the pulled pork was tender and easy to bite through. I destroyed it without sauce because the smoke flavor tasted so good. I forgot to make a sandwich out of it. As for the sides, I have never been a sides guy other than coleslaw, but I had to try them all. The pasta salad is like no other, sweet and creamy but not too sweet. The Potatoe salad was perfect, and I hate potato salad. The potato salad was more like a mashed potatoes with chunks of potatoes in it. It's hard to explain, but all I know is that I would eat that every day. The coleslaw was just perfect, slightly sweet, and not too tangy. The beans were nothing to write home about, but it's also hard to mess up beans. The atmosphere is very homie and southern. There is live Blue's playing in the background. People can sit inside or outside by the river. This place has so much stuff to look at you might want to bring a neck brace to make sure you don't hurt yourself. If you are near Biloxi, Mississippi, you better look up The Shed and stop by, or else you will miss something special.

Rosemary S.

Yelp
Perfect little spot right off I-10! We were hungry for some delicious bbq and we found it. It's a unique place with an outside feel and live music. The cashiers and servers were great. Apparently it's a popular place because we had to wait in line but the food came out immediately. My favorite sides were the baked beans and the sweet potato casserole. I will definitely come through again when I'm in the area!

Kasey C.

Yelp
Food was delicious Ribs were falling off the bone and sauce is fantastic Mac n cheese my favorite side dish

Dawn s.

Yelp
I have gone to the shed a half a dozen times and plan to go back. The food is delicious!!! The music and the drinks are great. And there are tons of things to look at. The atmosphere is fun and friendly and definitely casual. I tend to bring a friend that has not experienced the shed with me when ever I go. If you have a friend coming from out of town I highly suggest you bring them here.

Van B.

Yelp
Amazing place! Vibe, portions, food quality. A place to keep your kids distracted so you can have a real convo with the adults!

Brittany M.

Yelp
I was passing through and decided to stop because I was starving. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich plate with sweet potato casserole and potato salad. Every single thing about my food was wonderful. I was a little worried, and thought my sandwich was a little dry but once I added Mayo it was good. Kinda wanted a pickle though. I have two complaints. The womens room was out of toilet paper, in multiple stalls. It could've been cleaner. The hand soap smells very pleasant. And the first part of the dining area, after you order and go by the drink stations... it smelled god awful! Like an old junky stagnant house that has old dog shit left inside. I went straight outside. If you're gonna have clutter/junk as your theme, you shouldn't have the smell that's normally associated with that environment. Then there were multiple dogs around the place, one of which was let run free. The last thing I wanted to see after smelling that odor was a dog while I was eating. I saw some reviews of lack of cleanliness before I ate, and I have to agree. Really cool idea for the theme and some of it is cool but all in all, it's kinda nasty looking tbh.. too much. Just order TO-GO because the food really was I would definitely give them another chance though. Maybe it was just stinky this day but if I went back and smelled the same thing that would be the end for me. Also, no paper towels at the sink when I went to leave

Benjamin C.

Yelp
Great food and great atmosphere. The brisket was pretty good, but I was more impressed with the baked beans and the sweet potato casserole. The beans were very savory. It also helped that they were quite hot, temperature wise. A lot of baked beans sides are served too close to room temperature, which detracts from the quality. The sweet potato casserole might be the best that I've ever had. So buttery and sugary while not overdoing it. The high temp of this side also aided it in my opinion. The picture I took (after a bite) doesn't do it justice. Definitely get the sweet potato casserole/pudding. It pushed this review to a 5 stars.

Yelp
Really enjoyed eating here when I was in town on Monday 5/31 (Memorial Day). Showed up in the early afternoon and they had already run out of brisket and ribs. Fortunately, everything else seemed delicious! I myself enjoyed a combo plate of chicken, sausage, baked beans, and fries, plus an order of fried pickles. It was all SOOOOO yummy! I'm no bbq connoisseur and never lived in the south, but my in-laws are Louisiana born-and-bred and they at least said it was the best bbq they've ever had. Personally I found the chicken to be really tender and tasty, and I loved the sausage the most - it had great flavor and a great snap to it and is served already sliced. Both the chicken and sausage were doused in their fantastic sauce. The fries were tasty, and the baked beans had great flavor though were a bit on the watery side for me. The fried pickles were very thinly sliced and perfectly fried. I loved how huge the space is - there were so many picnic tables and spaces to spread out. They also have unique kitchen restrooms, a little play area for kids, and a little dock/boardwalk on a bayou. Very dog friendly too, since it's mostly outside, and they had some little dog bowls you could borrow and fill with water for your pup. My family had other plans but otherwise I could have seen us staying there for hours drinking and eating. Really great, chill place, and the other customers were also great and chill. :) Highly recommend!

Yelp
Stop in on our way back home to Louisiana from Florida and at first glance it's a shed for a restaurant. If you're looking for an actual restaurant this is bot the place for you. The shed gives the feel of backyard bbq with family. The servers and order takers were really nice, but the food was ok. I had the smoked bbq wings and they were so tender that they were falling off of the bone and I tried the sausage and ribs. The sides were ok my favorite was the greens. It was kind of late in the day so they didn't have any more brisket, Turkey, or cracklins which I wish I could have gotten to try all three of those but I settled for what they had left. One thing I'm not to fond of is the bbq sauce coming on the meats already. I guess I'm just used to the sauce always being on the side for any bbq spot that I've gone to, thankfully the sauce was ok. A while back I purchased some of their bottled sauce from rouses and I like that much better. I say try it out, maybe I would have liked it better if I got a chance to try the brisket, Turkey, or cracklins

Yelp
Other than the explosive diahrrea, the food was good. The ambiance is super shabby chic, gravel and no A/C.
