The Sicilian Butcher - Review - Wedgewood-Houston - Nashville - The Infatuation

"At The Sicilian Butcher, you build your own pasta, meatballs, and bruschetta boards. For the indecisive, there are also set pasta dishes and pizzas, such as the Sicilian sausage pie and 10-layer lasagna. Dessert comes courtesy of The Sicilian Baker, with a build-your-own-cannoli bar and a five-foot dessert board." - Jackie Gutierrez-Jones

Everything was absolutely fabulous! The Meatball Ferris Wheel was our favorite (so creative and delicious) followed closely by the five-foot dessert board, which was out of this world. Huge shoutout to Shannon G, who was an amazing server and took such great care of us from start to finish. Beautiful presentation, fun atmosphere, and fantastic service. We’ll definitely be back!

Google
Really enjoyed this restaurant! We ordered the Italian saganaki appetizer and it was excellent! Tangy melty cheese and grilled ciabatta. I would order it again. I ordered the bruschetta as my meal, picking four types, and my husband ordered the lasagna. He said it was the best lasagna he ever ate. While dense, the pasta itself was handmade and light and there were 10 layers. He highly recommends. I definitely recommend the bruschetta. Being able to pick several and try different ones was fun and they were tasty. These are large portions. We also ordered some cannoli to go which were excellent once we took them home. The setting and ambiance was nice, clean, crisp, but comfortable. The wait staff was great. If I could find anything to critique it would be for the hosts and hostesses to not seat three couples directly next to each other when the restaurant is empty. We arrived earlier than the dinner rush so there were only a few people in the restaurant. We were sat 2 ft away from a couple and then another couple came and was sat down 2 ft away from us but the entire restaurant was empty. It was hard to keep conversation when there are two other conversations happening within 2 ft on either side of you. If the restaurant had been busy, I could understand, and would not have minded, but it wasn't. It would have been nice to have a little bit of privacy especially since there were so many open tables. But other than that, I commend the restaurant. The food was great, they had a band and the music was wonderful. We will definitely be back.

Was so excited to eat here. So disappointed to say we won’t be back. My husband had pizza in vodka sauce. The meatball had no sauce and the pasta was so dry it was barely edible. I ordered the stuffed pasta that looked nothing like what the pictures did online. The food was dry and bland. For what we paid, I would never risk going there again.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Perfection from Start to Finish! The Sicilian Butcher in Nashville completely exceeded every expectation! From the first bite to the last, everything was phenomenal. We started with the focaccia and whipped ricotta — so fresh, warm, and full of flavor it could have been a meal on its own. The pastas were absolute showstoppers: the gnocchi in vodka sauce was pillowy, rich, and perfectly balanced, while the spaghetti pomodoro tasted like it came straight from an Italian kitchen — light, bright, and beautifully simple. And then the desserts… wow. The sfogliatella was crisp, buttery, and delicate, and the chocolate hazelnut mousse and espresso tart were pure art on a plate. Easily one of the best dessert trios I’ve had anywhere. Every detail — the plating, the service, the music, the vibe — made the whole night feel special. Nashville has a lot of great restaurants, but this one stands out. The Sicilian Butcher doesn’t just serve food; it creates an experience you’ll crave again and again.

Sicilian Butcher - you outdid yourself. So excited to try this place. Out server, Ashleigh, was amazing! Made the dining experience better and gave great recommendations! We started with the bruschetta board for our appetizer and highly enjoyed it. The caprese was my favorite. For dinner I had the chicken parm meatballs w pasta, which did not disappoint. Definitely make your way here, you will not be disappointed!

Came in for a working lunch and sat at the bar. They have happy hour all day at the bar, and have a great selection of small bites. I got the “Eggplant & ‘Nduja Croquettes” from the happy hour menu, absolutely delicious! There is also the normal menu available. Billy was the bartender, and was an absolute gem. I hope to see more of him. I work in the neighborhood and plan on having several more working lunches/happy hours here!

Google
The restaurant was lively and our server was attentive and helpful. However, the price of the food was inflated and the quality lacking. My pasta and meatballs weren’t hot (just warm) and there was barely any sauce as you can see in the photo. I was underwhelmed.

Google
My husband and I made reservations for our anniversary dinner. Our babysitter winded up falling through so our tiny third wheel joined us. The staff made our personal occasion special and everyone was so professional and polite. We highly recommend trying the meatball Ferris wheel as an appetizer. I feel like that gave us a sense of what pasta we wanted! We both loved the parmigiana cream and meatball. The cannolis were also delicious. I wish I could remember our server's name, but she just moved here recently from Florida. She was so sweet and made sure we were taken care of all throughout dinner! Thanks for the great experience ❤️

Yelp
Can NOT say enough about this place. 1st off the managers David and Micheal are amazing. They helped solve a problem we encountered for our daughters birthday and 11 guests for dinner. They went above and beyond to be sure we had a great experience. All of the staff were attentive and friendly. The food was amazing!! Everything tasted fresh and was served hot and all 11 meals came out together! Talia our waitress was knowledgeable friendly and checked in on us often. We will definitely be back and continue to try different options! Thank you Sicilian Butcher Nashville!!! The picks are of a few things we tried to many to show all.

Yelp
I was so excited when I heard Sicilian Butcher was coming to Nashville, and it did not disappoint! The food was fantastic and you could tell everything was made with fresh ingredients (especially the homemade pasta). The Statue of David cocktail tasted great (not too sweet) and came in a fun cup. The service was wonderful and everyone who worked there was very friendly. When we asked about the wine selection, the bartender pointed out some unique bottles they had and recommended a Chardonnay that my friend, who typically hates Chardonnay, loved. We will definitely be back (especially because they have all day happy hour at the bar/high tops and a dessert board we have to try)!

Yelp
I was very satisfied after leaving The Sicilian Butcher. I started with a "don't call me Shirley" it was very refreshing and not overly sweet. Sadly they didn't have the mocktails that included a scoop of sorbet available at the moment but I'd be really interested in trying one of those soon. I was initially going to go for the build your own pasta but our waiter, Sam, described the strozzapreti shrimp alla vodka so well I had to try it! We were warned that the spice level was about a 4 so I was expecting the heat. Overall it was a solid dish. Portion size 10/10. Nice flavor and the noodles/ shrimp were cooked perfectly. I do wish it had more sauce. As I continued to eat the noodles quickly soaked up what sauce was there leaving it a bit dry in spots. I also thought that the smoothie being cut up in pieces was kind of odd. I wasn't mad at it but I've never seen it before either. We arrived around 5:45/6 there were a few customers but the space filled up quickly with the dinner crowd. They do accept reservations and validated parking so that would probably be your best bet if you're planning a visit. The staff were welcoming and our waiter Sam made the experience even better. He was very kind and knew the menu inside and out!

Yelp
We were excited to try this new restaurant and love Italian food. We ordered the Italian Saganaki for an appetizer and it came out with only one piece of bread for the four of us. While we waited ten minutes for more bread the cheese was cold. The server did bring us a fresh saganaki. Each couple ordered a salad to share and we ordered four entrees. The salads and entrees came out at the same time. The table was not big enough to hold all those plates at once so this really should never happen unless requested. The salads were overpriced for the amount. I will say the wedge salad was tasty, however the portion size was not worth the $15.00 price. I ordered the pasta with vodka sauce and Tony's steak meatballs. The meatballs were very bland and the pasta was just ok. The portion size of the pasta was fine but it was mediocre at best. The server didn't notice that we were served our salads and main dishes at the same time or she didn't want to draw attention to it. Either way, she was absent for most of the meal while we watched other tables being offered grated cheese for their dishes and checked in regularly. We won't try eating here again because for the price we don't want to risk having an experience the same as the one we had tonight. The restaurant is nice inside and has a nice outdoor seating area as well.

Yelp
Really solid new Italian spot in WeHo! A true Sicilian take with a little extra spice with chili flakes and garlic coming through strong! We found easy street parking within walking distance and later learned from our phenomenal server, Sam, that the restaurant validates two hours of garage parking. Sam was friendly, knowledgeable, and helped us navigate the menu with confidence. We both landed on the Strozzapreti Shrimp Alla Vodka, and it did not disappoint. The sauce was rich and flavorful (I just wished for a touch more of it), and the house-made pasta was fresh with great texture. The shrimp was chopped rather than whole - unexpected, but it worked! We also tried their NA mocktails (Don't Call Me Shirley and the Pimm's Cup) and both beautifully balanced and crafted with high-quality ingredients. The ambience ties it all together: a sleek black, white, and red modern aesthetic, with a cozy outdoor patio decked out in string lights and heaters - it is perfect for a date night or relaxed dinner with friends. fyi - the cell service wasn't great for us, but they do have complimentary wifi for guests!

Yelp
Well, we wanted to go someplace new and this place had. MEATBALL FERRIS WHEEL! Count me in! Ambiance was not what I was expecting - brighter lit, more casual. Good for girls night or first date, maybe not the Italian romance vibe. Drinks were tasty, but I am here for the meatballs! Friend and I shared this as well as the flaming cheese and nonna bread. OMG!! That bread was to die for!!! We only tried 2 of the meatballs, we were so full (lunch today!). Got dessert to go. They have a bike your own cannoli! Nope, that is not gelato, people! We will be back for the pasta! Once I have room in the stomach again!

Yelp
Me and my friend came here on opening week and they had a little nice set up. Photo booth and music. It was fun. We sat outside on the patio. The staff was friendly. We ordered the calamari, ferris wheel meatballs bc I mean why not! When do you get to experience a ferris wheel meatballs right??!! And then we ordered an expresso martini with tequila and the strawberry foam. Omg!! This cocktail was the best!! It was sooo good! And they have happy hour all day! We was not disappointed with ending our nite here!

Yelp
Had a really great experience at the Sicilian butcher. Service was great and the inside is setup for either a date night or a night out with friends. Wedgewood Houston is gaining traction fast with some fantastic restaurant additions. We ordered a butcher pizza, meatball ferris wheel, and the gnocchi mac and cheese. The pizza was delicious and big enough to split if you get a side to split as well. The gnocchi.... I could easily order 2 of this ultra cheesy goodness as my entree and be very happy. The meatball ferris wheel was a fun idea and was good, but I'm not sure I'd order it again with so many other options on the menu. We are excited to come back with friends in the near future and try more!

Yelp
Fantastic food here and great vibes! I liked the ricotta dip, but it was a bit spicy and our waiter was slow with the water refills. The Caesar was pretty good, but a tiny bit too acidic for me. I LOVED the gnocchi Mac n cheese! So so good. I also tried my friend's vodka sauce pasta and that was perfect. I got a few bites of the white sauce pizza as well and I thought it was incredible. The service was pretty mid and slow, and then the waiter asked us to leave him a positive Google review... which was awkward. Also it took 45 minutes for the make your own cannolis which was really crazy! We had to make them at the table, how did they take so long?!

Yelp
I kept seeing video reviews about this place so I had to try it and it was great! The garlic bread was delicious and now I need to go back to try the pizza. The pasta was also delicious as well as our drinks. The manager was also accommodating and gave us free dessert since their POS had an issue. We got the chocolate mouse cake which is a must try however the tiramisu that I was excited to try was not good. It tasted like it had been sitting for a while but other than that everything else was a must get! The decor was also thoughtful, it has a fancy diner vibe. There is also a parking garage connected if you need somewhere to park.

Yelp
Enjoyed a Sunday evening dinner here with a friend, and I plan to come back! The menu has many choices, including customizable pasta where you pick the sauce, type of noodle, and whether you want any protein. For the $4 meatball upcharge, I was expecting to just get 1 meatball, but it included 3. The restaurant wasn't slow but wasn't crowded, with lots of indoor and outdoor seating. The Sicilian Baker is also inside, offering gelato (I recommend the pistachio), pastries, and other desserts. Excited to try more dishes and drinks from this restaurant!

Yelp
This place is AMAZING! I'm Sicilian and I moved to East Tennessee about 6 months ago. There has been literally no good Italian Food places anywhere near Knoxville other than Johnson City. I was coming to Nashville to pick my daughter up at the airport and found this place was having their grand opening. As you walk up they had a photo opportunuty and live music. The employees were all very friendly. When you walk in there is the dessert bar with authentic Italian desserts and a cannoli bar Yep, yuoui read that right, a cannoli bar. Instead of Gelato, its different flavors of cannoli cream. We got oreo, nutella and banana. I HAD to get 3 sfogliatellle. Each cannoli was $7. I ordered the rosemary pomegranate soda, it was pretty much ice and like 2oz liquid, I didn't care for it. We got the chicken parm which my bf loved it, I asked if he was in heaven or something. I had the pesto gnocchi with eggplant meatballs, We also got happy hour meatballs and nduja. Everything was delicious!!!!!! This is the only one in TN, there is one in Phoenix and a couple in TX. The owner came around greeting every person in the place also. Definitely recommended if you are in the Nashville area!

Yelp
I moved here from Arizona and deeply missed Sicilian Butcher, so I was elated to hear they opened one 15 minutes from my house! The vanilla lobster tail will change your life I swear to god. The day after my ex husband and I decided to separate and divorce I took my depressed, drunken ass to Sicilian butcher and had a whole lobster tail to myself and it convinced me that I would make it through. They're very powerful. The rest of the food is good too I'm just specifically writing this review for the lobster tails. It's like if a croissant and a cannoli fell in love and had a baby that was kissed by god.

Yelp
I saw several less-than-stellar reviews about this place and our experience was anything but! We started out with a cocktail and a mocktail, the statue of David (?) and the pomegranate rosemary soda and they were phenomenal. We had to do the meatball Ferris wheel (obvi) and every pairing was delicious and perfectly cooked. Even the Caesar salad we split was so fresh and crispy and the dressing was so bright and tangy. I got the pizza alla vodka and added sausage and my husband got the lobster fazzoletti and they were both delicious. I appreciated the speed of service as it was attentive but leisurely enough to never feel rushed. Our server was knowledgeable and friendly and we had a great experience overall. The inside is so cute, modern and cozy and we can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Always excited to see more Italian food in Nashville. I will be honest and say it wasn't our favorite. Firstly, it's really bright in the restaurant. It was a shock walking in at night from outside to the brightly lit dining room. Some of my party got pasta and others got pizza. The pizza was not great. I enjoyed my Parmesan cream pasta and the vodka pasta was good too. Overall just not my personal favorite.

Jay S.

Yelp
The staff was lovely and super sweet with it being a holiday, I placed the order online and got the Bianca Pizza and the tiramisu. I've had the tiramisu before and it was lovely but this time it wasn't consistent. I truly wish I could get a refund for the tiramisu, for $13 you'd expect better quality but unfortunately that wasn't the case this time, I couldn't take more than two bites without throwing the whole thing away, truly unfortunate since it cost $13

John G.

Yelp
As a Sicilian from New York I was disappointed with the food. My spaghetti was overcooked and a little gummy the sauce was ok and the variety of meatballs was good. The waiter was friendly but service was substandard and slow not everyone had a water glass or antipasti plate to start. Had to ask the waiter for them. The antipasti variety was good, $18 a person, but there was a lot left over that I asked to have pack up to go. This was not done. We ordered coffee that was weak and lukewarm when delivered. The cannolis were ok but not worth $9 each. The layout of the restaurant was good and the decor fostered expectations of a pleasant Italian meal. I know they haven't been open very long and I hope they improve with time

Yelp
Food was amazing. They have just opened last week. But service was great and very attentive. The wine list was interesting and I had two different red wines. The food came out timely and the meatballs were very good.

Yelp
Excited for this new restaurant to thrive in the WeHo area. Very good and tasty food. Fun options for a dinner party- meatball Ferris wheel, long charcuterie board! Entrees are excellent, a variety of sauces to choose from, great options. And don't forget dessert- complete with cannolis and cookies bakery!!! Service continually is better but on this latest visit Ashleigh was superb! She handled my party of 6 expertly!

Yelp
it has been years since i've left reviews for restaurants in Nashville and i'm thrilled to leave one for this place. the second you walk in you are greeted by the staff, who are so friendly. the ambiance is incredible. plenty of seating inside and outside. our server Israel was amazing and so helpful when it came to choosing drinks and what to eat. He was also extremely fun and had us laughing whenever he came to check on us. the espresso martini is probably the best one i've had in Nashville! the food was delicious! I highly recommend getting the ferris wheel of meatballs! it will help you decide which sauce and meatball you want if you decide to build your own pasta bowl. the pasta is homemade. my friend had the parmigiana cream sauce with steak meatballs and that was also amazing. overall, this was a great experience. from the moment we got there until we left. it is also allergy friendly for those of you who have a tree nut allergy like me. i can't wait to come back and try more of the menu!

Yelp
Food was disappointing and service was just as bad. Hard to call it pizza when it was basically focaccia with cheese on it. Overpriced food. Waiter Matthew was not helpful and when bringing the check just dropped it off without a word. Not a return place, too many other better options around.

Nathan M.

Yelp
As a bartender, this was probably the best service I have ever had. Billy at the bar was the best. Other bartenders were great and expo was nice as well. Billy was extremely nice and remembered our names right away. The drinks were amazing and food was good. I never leave reviews but this was worth a 5 star. I recommend you come here for the amazing cocktails and food.

Yelp
We had company from out of town and were super excited to try this place because we love Italian food. Unfortunately, it did not meet our expectations. On a positive note, the decor and the vibe in the restaurant were super cute. The food and service however were quite disappointing. We ordered the flaming cheese appetizer with a table of four people and they only brought one slice of bread with it. By the time someone bought more bread, the cheese was no longer hot and had turned hard. They did replace it with a new one though and the second was better. We ordered salads and pasta dishes which all arrived at the same time. The Caesar salad was just ok. Too much romaine and not enough dressing. We had the meatball Ferris wheel and the server didn't know which meatball was which. And they all tasted pretty similar, but none were great. The pasta dishes had way more pasta than sauce. The pasta was very "dough-y" and not al dente. Overpriced for the food and the service. Will not be back.

April D.

Yelp
Waitress was nice and knew the menu. Drinks were good but took forever to arrive and they did not all come out together. Food took forever to come out. Pasta was cold and dry. Meatballs with NO flavor.. Steak cooked to the wrong temp. No f/u after food arrived. Patio is nice. Food bad and overpriced. Do yourself a favor and go down the road to Luogo. Real Italian, fresh, better prices.

Julie C.

Yelp
The pizza is really disappointing. Thick, hard, flavorless. I was really shocked when it came out. There are so many better places in town.

Kim S.

Yelp
The Tony meatballs were so dry and very little sauce with the pasta. I would not go back

Omari R.

Yelp
Almost comically bad. Ordered two Ribeyes med and med rare. Both came out well done..... Server even told us the one that was MORE well done was the med rare one. Meatball ferris wheel felt gimmicky given the meatballs were all below average. Lobster ravioli tasted like it had been sitting. Calamari and shrimp were good but that didn't earn any stars. Waiter did offer free dessert because of the steaks which was nice but also just average. Unfortunately save your money and choose one of the other great restaurants Nashville has.

Yelp
I took my wife here for her 27th birthday and we were quickly taken care of by our amazing server Will. We received our drinks in no time along with our appetizers. As soon as we finished eating our appetizers our entrees made it out so it was perfect timing. The meatball ferris wheel was great, the bruschetta was good as well, and our entrées did not disappoint. I got the 10 layer lasagna and she got the bucatini chef special we both liked ours a lot. Afterwards my wife was given a free tiramisu for her birthday which Will put a candle in and lit for her. They also gave her a birthday card which I thought was very sweet. We each got a cannoli from the cannoli bar and loved them. Our overall experience here was fantastic! Our server Will did a phenomenal job, the atmosphere was comfortable, we received our food extremely quick, and everything tasted great! I highly recommend this place and will be going back! 10/10

Ava T.

Yelp
We had the best service with Israel. He was awesome. however, our dirty martinis were way too dirty, and some of our food came out cold. Also, the outdoor lights were way too bright, I think dimming them would add so much to the ambiance I know you all are new. So just want to be helpful!
