Hidden gem in Lawton - great cocktail bar in a cool setting. Super friendly service from the staff. You expect this kind of bar in the streets of New York or Chicago, definitely not in Lawton. A must visit when in the area. Note: this is a cash only place!!!

Very nice upscale saloon in a place it wouldn't be expected. Good selection of scotch, Islas, not just the standard Highland top shelf. Bourbons include Woodford Reserve, Old Forester, Makers and Knob Creek as well as a super interesting offering from Rouge. I'm not really into white liquor, but my lady friends say they have several interesting gins and that the mixed drinks are super good. Staff is super friendly and if you find yourself in Lawton it would be a shame to miss it.

Nice place opend 4 days ago. WORTH checking it out for sure opening hours are on pic and sunday open till 6pm.

The bar is very judgmental. Don’t dare disagree here with any type of service or you will be banned or booted out. You don’t even have to say a word you will be disrespected and still be considered the disrespectful one even if you said less than three words of disagreement I would be careful at this bar, especially if your Military they have no respect for the military, they could care less they have a very customer is always wrong attitude. Bartending and bars are all about Customer Service. Customer is not always right but the customer sure isn’t always wrong. Be careful you have been warned their mindset is they can allways fill a seat and get more people to drink

So this place is literally across from the hotel. Definitely a place that beats a few other bars in town. Had live music! Historical vibe, water/beer pong, corn hole. Great service. Only change I recommend is they invest into better corn hole boards. Other than that this place is great. All walks of life are welcome here. Only down fall is there’s only one bathroom. Don’t forget to tip your bartender. Also it is cash only.

This is a great little bar and the service was terrific. This is actually one of the cooler watering holes I've been to in a while. It's local down home Lawton with a touch of Jimmy Buffett. The old newspaper nostalgia and decor are a nice touch. I had a good shot of Johnny Walker Gold on a cube of ice. Smoking is allowed so non-smokers beware.

Nice decor one very rude bar tender. We hadn't left yet and she is angry that we hadn't left her tip. The fact is we haven't given to her a tip yet. Very rude and demanding. She felt so entitled for a tip even though we had to go to get our own drinks while she was our waitress. The place has potential. The owner needs to hire professional and mature bar tenders instead of pretty faces with entitled attitudes. She got a tip after her tantrum.

Tiny bar off the main road that's really easy to find, has great drinks available and the bartenders were extremely friendly and attentive. Be sure to walk with cash, as it's the only payment accepted here. There is an ATM outside on the side of the building. Would return if I ever find myself in Lawton again.

First of all, I am not from Lawton. I lived here from '98 to '05 and come back from time to time to see relatives and old friends. I was here recently and low and behold, I found this gem. The Side Bar is a true diamond in the rough of what is Lawton, Oklahoma. The owner(s) is definitely not a local and why he would live here is beyond me. BUT the ambiance, decor, and cosmopolitan look is very well done and stands up with any great bar in Deep Ellum or Lower Greenville. It's only when the clientele open their mouths do you realize, "yup, I'm still in Lawton, Oklahoma." The bartenders are not just cute but actually were attentive (more so than many places in Dallas) and, considering it is Lawton, Oklahoma, know what a Manhattan is as well as an Old Fashioned. Unfortunately they served without rye but I don't hold it against them (looking at you management/owner) because I was immediately told about it. I'm looking forward to asking for a sazerac or a cosmopolitan on my next visit so hopefully they have the goods. The only issue I had with the staff (IF he is on the payroll) was some idiot who treated the music as his own personal playlist; diverse clientele be damned. Even the bartenders were annoyed at him but he straightened up once the owner was on site. Also, there is a lot of smoke/vaping but I give that a pass since, well, it is Lawton, Oklahoma. PROS: Atmosphere; diverse crowd; attentive bartenders who knew how to make a drink without googling it; owner seems cool CONS: CASH ONLY (but there is an ATM just outside); may be out of liquor for classic cocktails; smoking/vaping; idiot wannabe DJ In closing: I would have given a 5 star if the liquor was stocked (in spite of the idiot dj). BUT I will be back again and have already recommended to the locals I know there

Best bar I've been to in awhile. Very friendly good staff and patrons. Cash only but very good prices. So glad I found it and sad I didn't find it earlier.

The Side Bar is a wonderful cocktail bar. Beautiful Bar Tenders and great drinks. Pub style. Comfortable out door seating. Located right across the street from the Hilton on 2nd St Open 3pm - 2am. Mom - Sat. Sunday 3-7

Super awesome staff, all really welcoming and friendly. A diverse crowd of locals and out of towners. Cash only, but they make mean drinks! Well worth a visit.
