Google
Everything was perfect! Truly felt like I was back in Thailand. Service was great & food was authentic. Highly recommend!

Google
Easily some of the best thai food ive ever had! Im from the Boston area so next time im in LA i have to come back here. The mango sticky rice was the best ive ever had and the seafood fried rice was amazing. My friends and I cant stop thinking about this restaurant! Also pretty affordable in my opinion. Will be back again

Google
I had an amazing meal at Silver Lake House. Great patio, intimate seating, and a full menu with lots of vegan options.

Google
It’s proper the sweetest pa thai i’ve ever had, and it’s weird. I asked for medium spicy but i can’t taste the spice at all so i asked for hot sauce twice and it never came. i think ill never come back again.

Gazi Gökdemir

Google
I tried the larb duck. It had a lot of dry parts. When I asked the employee, she said this was the normal service. I think it was reheated a few times or burned in the oven. If this is the normal service, it is definitely not my style. Those who will order should take this into consideration. Creepe cakes are different and original. I can give 3.5-4 stars for this dessert.

Google
The atmosphere was perfect and cozy, got seated fairly quickly even tho they were busy. The food came out pretty quick once we ordered. I had the pad Thai and we ordered a chicken fried rice and both were really good! Everything that i saw come out to other tables looked delicious. Definitely coming back.

Google
Silver Lake House is a wonderful neighborhood gem with incredible Thai food. Authentic, tasty, generously-sized portions, and with a full vegetarian menu, this establishment offers something for everyone and has never disappointed me! The Larb Duck is one of my favorites, as is their Pad Thai Boran. On weekdays, they also have fantastic lunch specials that are truly unbeatable. I've brought so many friends here over the years, and we all keep coming back! They can get pretty busy during prime time, so expect a short wait during dinner at times, but the food is without a doubt 100% worth it.

Some of the best yellow curry I’ve ever had! Friendly staff and a garden atmosphere that makes you feel like you’re in Thailand.

Yelp
My favorite Thai food in all of Los Angeles. Everything runs about 15 bucks - and everything I've tried has been delicious. My partner's go to is the kao soi, and mine is the coconut soup. Truly I have such trust in the cooks here, I'd try anything just because I've never been disappointed. Also if you have the option to eat there do, the outdoor is so pretty and picturesque like a little snippet a garden tucked away from the city.

Yelp
Food 3/5: I think this place was very average. I am unsure why everyone loved so much. Potato wonton was refreshing because it was a new dish I've tried, but other curry was very similar to other restaurants. The meat was a bit chewy, the curry was a bit sweet. Service 1/5: the cat came out of nowhere, the staff was catching it. Scared me so much I lost my appetite. The server did not refill water once, had to wait long to get our orders in and check. Ambiance 2/5: good for hang outs, but nothing special. Not recommend.

Yelp
This place has been on my list for a while and wow does it live up to the expectations. The restaurant is so cute at night, but parking on the weekend is tough. We ordered the Chicken Satay, the Chef Kra Pow, the Duck Curry, and the Mango Sticky Rice. The chicken satay was large and juicy where other places chicken satay is very thin and overcooked. The Kra Pow was so flavorful and the Duck was cooked to perfection! The pineapple in the Duck curry provided a really nice sweet punch. The mango sticky rice was delicious! The rice was nice and hot when it came out and the mango was so fresh. I can't wait to come back and try the rest of the menu.

Yelp
Amazing and incredible, wish I had come sooner. Very busy on a Saturday night but we're able to get a table right away. I had the wonton soup, which was great and the pad Thai which was so good and a very large portion. They also had Chang beer, which I love. Such a great spot!

Yelp
Came here for dinner with a party of three and walked out feeling full. I ordered Pad Thai with chicken and the food came out quicker than expected. The food was flavorful and evenly mixed, but the taste was more on the milder side. I was surprised to see some tofu in this dish since most places would have only one protein but this can either be beneficial or detrimental since tofu can absorb all the sauce. As for the chicken, it was a bit dry and overcooked. Portion size was quite large. Overall, I thought this place was a decent place. It wasn't the best Pad Thai I've ever had, but it will definitely make you full. Servers were nice and attentive. Street parking was a pain in the butt since some of the signs have requirements, so do read carefully. Other than that, I would come back and try the other foods on the menu.

Yelp
The Silver Lake House is an OKAY place to get Thai food... not super authentic Thai food, but not super Americanized either. It's somewhere in the middle, hence the 3 stars for "will most likely return" but doesn't blow my mind in terms of food. Some of their items are better than others! Favorite item: - Tom Yum noodle soup - really tasty and has a good amount of spice Just OK items: - Mee Krob - this is a popular dish in Thailand that takes crispy fried rice noodles and tosses them with a sweet-sour sauce. The fried rice noodles were really fluffy and crispy, but the sauce was just a bit too sweet for my preference. - Duck noodle soup - the noodles were overcooked and the soup was a little too sweet AMBIANCE This is probably the winning factor for the restaurant. Their outdoor patio area is absolutely gorgeous, filled with beautiful lighting and plants all over. Ambiance is a 10/10 if you get outdoor seating! All in all, I would dine at Silver Lake House if I was in the area or out of convenience. It's not my favorite Thai food spot but it's not a bad choice!

Yelp
I came to eat here on Valentine's Day! Of course it was busy but they had a good system where you sign your name and leave your number. I ordered fried calamari and Pad Thai (I loved that my pad Thai had peanut crumbs to mix into the noodles). The main dish does take a while to get to your table so order an appetizer! The food is very well cooked and so savory! Our waitress ,Cher , was so sweet and made sure we were taken care of. This restaurant is very homey and comforting!

Yelp

Yelp
Every time I'm in LA this is a must stop for me! Everything about this restaurant is amazing - food is delicious, service is great, and it's super affordable. My favorite dishes so far have been the eggplant, potato wontons, and drunken noodles but everything I've tried has been so good!! The portions are huge so I love eating family style with a few friends so we can try a bunch of dishes. There are so many menu items and I am planning on trying all of them. Definitely one of my favorite thai restaurants of all time!
google avatar

Marissa G.

Yelp
It was too sweet and not spicy enough for me. I also got sick; I'm unsure if it was the food, but I am most likely not coming back. There are so many other better ones to try. It's overrated. The service was great.
google avatar

Kelvin W.

Yelp
Located in Silverlake - I'm not sure if there's parking but there is plenty of free street parking around the restaurant. There's an inside and an outside section at the restaurant. Service was really good, and the food was really great as well. We ordered a tom yum soup, chicken wings, and a pad Thai. The hot sauce on the side also really provided a lot of additional flavor. Would highly recommend.

Yelp
Went to lunch with my coworkers and it was so good!! Excellent food, great service, super cute patio. I had a Thai iced coffee and kao soi and both were amazing! I can't wait to bring my partner here to try, 10/10!

Yelp
Some of the best Thai food I've had. The crab fried rice was perfectly cooked, crab and egg equally combined and not overcooked. We got all of this and split it between 2 people and we had some leftovers. They have a nice outdoor patio and it's pretty small inside but chill vibe. The food was quick but it seems to get busy around lunchtime.
google avatar

Nate N.

Yelp
We visited this place on February 16th for a belated Valentine's Day lunch. Everything was good, food, service, drinks but I ended up in the ER an hour later because I was allergic to something, my face blew up and I had large welts all over me. I've had Thai food all over Silverlake/Thai Town area and nothing like this has ever happened to me. So if you're a person that's allergic to a lot of things maybe you should not visit this place.

Yelp
This place had pretty good, authentic Thai food. Walking-in, I loved the outdoor seating area with all the plants and garden decor. It felt very homey and like we were dining at someone's garden. However, the downside with having so many plants outside meant there might be bugs and there were many bugs everywhere. I would suggest maybe having some sort of repellent present. The menu was pretty extensive, lots of options. Flagging down the waiter was also a bit hard. To be honest I thought the food would be gentrified based on the location, but the flavors came through in the dishes we had. I liked the pad thai the best, I liked how it came with additional spices on the side. I also liked the crispy pork in the dish. The curry we got was also pretty good too, but some of the beef chunks seemed chalky. I wish the curry came with more rice though to soak up the curry sauce. We just ended up sipping on the curry sauce. Overall this a good spot if you're in the Silver Lame area. It's a great place for sharing food and the outdoor seating area is a nice vibe. It's also relatively on the cheaper side.

Yelp
We visited on Sun and the restaurant was packed so we decided to order takeout instead. We tried drunken dumplings, tom yum soup,l and massaman curry(all spicy). The food was flavorful and delivered the right level of spicyness. The tom yum soup was the highlightl, I personally liked the massaman curry though my wife found it just okay. The drunken dumplings were avg but we were glad we tried them for variety Next time we'll skip the dumplings and stick to soup, noodles and rice since those dishes seem to be their strong suit.

Yelp
Easily one of the best Thai restaurants I've eaten at. Their coconut soup was especially fantastic! Their pad Thai wasn't my personal favorite but the ambiance in the outdoor patio and exceptional service made up for it. I really appreciate the vegetarian options. Will come again the next time I'm in town.

Yelp
Parking: street parking, on the side of the restaurant be careful bc permits required. On the other side it's free game. Party of 4 came right when they opened on a Friday morning. Of course got sat right away, seating inside or outside on their patio or outside on the sidewalk. Inside had AC and the decor was super cute and homey. Bathroom: super dark bathroom but decent. Food: we had the lunch special (great prices), Thai iced tea and Thai ice coffee, amazing flavor 10/10 I got the chili basil stirfry with pork medium spice (it was very spicy in a good way), great portion size plus a soup and a veggie roll! Amazing and everything tasted so good 9/10 Crab ragoons: so good! Light not too much filling and crunch 10/10 Golden shrimp: this was the best thing I had, it was crispy and just amazing flavor with delicious dipping sauce 15/10. Yellow curry was also amazing! Service was great as well.

Yelp
So good! Got thai tea, thai coffee w boba, crispy wontons, chicken pad see ew, summer rolls, and it was all delicious!

Yelp
The Silver Lake House is a fantastic Thai spot that's been around for a while. I pass by it often, and after hearing recommendations, I finally tried it--and it was delightfully amazing. I ordered the drunken noodles with chicken, mild spice. It wasn't spicy at all, just a small kick, and the flavors were fantastic. The portion was huge, very filling, and worth every bite. The staff was great, and even though there was a slight wait at 7:30 on a Wednesday, it was only about 10 minutes for a table for two. Definitely a spot I'd visit again!
google avatar

Yelp
Host of the restaurant was incredibly rude to me but when the rest of my party arrived (all blonde) she suddenly became nice. Felt pretty discriminatory, as I am not white. Food was okay- I got the Tom yum noodle soup but someone in my party found a hair. I won't be back. Hope the host gets some anti discrimination training

Yelp
Love this place! Best ambiance indoor and out and great food make this place a favorite of mine.

Yelp
One word: Flavorful! Everything we ordered was full of complex flavors and textures...sweet and sour, spicy and sweet, soft and crunchy...you NEED to try this place. I visited Saturday evening - it was packed but we didn't have to wait too long to be seated. It was well worth it. The staff is AMAZING! Here is what I recommend (photos included): To start: 1. SOM TUM E-SAAN (Papaya Salad) as an appetizer. Delicious, fresh, and flavorful. 2. APPETIZER MEDLEY - a sampler that includes fried wontons, shrimp, eggs rolls and more. A great way to try a few items. 3. SINGHA BEER - a delicious beer from Thailand. Main orders: 1. LARB DUCK. This is a delicious duck salad with a complex set of flavors and textures. We LOVED IT. 2. PAD THAI. This was perfect! I felt like I was tasting this dish in High Definition! lol. You can taste each individual flavor - from the tamarind, sugar, chili...and notice how they all work together to make this dish sweet, spicy, tangy and salty. Trust me - you have to try this place. You won't regret it.

Yelp
My partner and I went on a Sunday night at 7pm and waited around 20minutes. We got seated outside, so I don't really know what the inside ambience is like but I didn't mind being outside. It was nice. We ordered the crispy cheese wontons, the pad thai, and the pineapple curry. The crispy cheese wontons were good. Perhaps not the best ASMR crunch i've ever experienced but definitely good. The sauce was definitely reminiscent of a sweet and sour sauce from McDonald's, which isn't bad. I would've preferred a little more sour and some spice though. The pad thai was 2 stars but we could've definitely done 3-maybe 4. This pad thai was good and average. Nothing to write home about but a good portion for 2 people. It was also a little drier than some other pad thais I've had. I do wish it had a little more sauce? Or something. The pineapple curry was delicious. Not as many notes though! At the end of the day, I'd definitely come back, I think, but I'm still searching for my #1 Thai spot in this part of LA.

Yelp
I went on a rainy night, seating was limited due to the rain, so the wait was a little longer. There is no parking lot or valet, just street parking. And if you are a party if 6 or more they will automatically charge you 18% for tip. My party and I were not aware of this, I'm not sure if it's on the menu or if they have signs around but we didn't find out until it was time to pay. The menu is also online through a QR code. I went for my birthday dinner with family and it's definitely not a birthday dinner spot if you're looking to be sung to. They do not have candles for things like this. The ambiance is chill and low key. It's not an Instagram photo op type of place, it's cute, simple, and settle. With that being said the food is what I came for. I came for the first time in September and I remember the food being very yummy and that's why I picked this spot for my birthday dinner. Specifically I remember the heavenly chicken being my favorite and needing to have it again. I don't live too close by so it's not as accessible to be and that's why I hadn't been back since September. Now the food. My must haves are the sticky rice, the spare ribs, the heavenly chicken, the spring rolls, and the Thai tea. Everything else was also yummy but those specific dishes stood out to me the most. The spring rolls were nice and crunchy without having that fried oil taste that most spring rolls have. The crepe cake was light and fluffy with a nice sweet settle flavor. The Thai tea was the perfect amount of sweet and tasty. The mango sticky rice was so warm and the mango was perfectly ripe. The spare ribs are amazing. The food was reasonably priced with fair portions!

Yelp
First time! Food: -Pad Thai: classic, delicious, noodles were well cooked, very flavorful and QUITE big! -Yellow Curry: SO solid, deliciousss. The only thing was that the chicken pieces were... HUMUNGOUS. Though this might be more of my own preference thing, heh, but was sharing both dishes with a friend so it was a bit tough to try to just pull out easy chicken pieces. The taste though with the rice? SOLID. Service: -checked in on us a few times and were very friendly, prompt, and professional! Glad!! Ambiance: -it's silverlake so it's not a HUGE space. We sat inside so it was a little cooler but we got there before it got super busy and seemed very doable. As it gets busier, the inside gets quite loud so just be mindful of that. The outdoor area is cute and I imagine would be nice if it was cooler out! Overall: -would definitely come back to silver lake house. a faithful and delicious thai food staple!

Yelp
Great food and service! Came here with 10 other friends for a birthday lunch. Everything was delicious. Nice ambiance. Our group ordered from the $12.95-13.95 lunch specials and extra dishes of veggies, pad see ew, spring rolls, sticky rice with mango dessert and several Thai ice teas. Be sure to get the spring rolls! We sat inside by the window and even w a little AC, it was still warm. Next time, we'll try the patio.
google avatar

Yelp
I was looking for Thai options in Silverlake and there really wasn't much options in this area, so we decided to give it a try. As we walked up to the restaurant, we noticed that it was pretty packed. This can only mean one thing... The food was probably real good. the assumption was correct! We ordered the combination fried rice, noodles and cream cheese ragoons. It was one of the best new Thai spots I've tried in a while. The chili sauce was also amazing. On top of the food being delicious, the ambiance outside was really cute. All of the decorations and lights made it a place for a nice dinner date. Parking was a little challenging for me, as I had to park several blocks away but I'd still come back. I highly recommend it!
google avatar

Hani A.

Yelp
We came here for a dinner on a weekend and the restaurant was packed. We wrote our name on a waiting list right at the entrance and it took us little less than an hr to get seated. We specifically wanted to sit inside because it was warmer. The restaurant inside was cute and their service overall was good. We started with their Green papaya salad and it was very delicious, We also ordered their pad Thai and drunken noodles. They were both average but the drunken noodles was slightly better. Overall my experience was ok, might come here again on a weekday and try their curries.
google avatar

Jessica H.

Yelp
Enjoy coming here for lunch or take-out. The portions are good and priced well. It can get busy so you might have a short wait!
google avatar

Abel O.

Yelp
I loveeee the food here. It's so good. I love the ambiance as well, it's nothing pretentious but the lighting is good, and feels intimate. Service is great, and they're pretty fast for how busy they are. I def recommend.

Yelp
I have been coming here for 2 years now and I have brought so many people to come eat here with me. At this point I have had all their noodle dishes, appetizers, and curries. And this is has been my go to Thai restaurant in LA. I ate here on February 2nd 2025 for dinner and ordered the yellow curry with chicken, pad see ew with chicken, and a side of jasmine rice. Later that night I woke up around 1am with stomach cramps and severe pain, and ended up vomiting about 10 times between 1am-4am. Went to bed with chills, a massive headache, and my GI system being wiped clean. Today I have been dealing with chills, body aches, and low grade fever. I was reading other people who have experienced being sick from eating here. And a common denominator I am seeing is jasmine rice, pad see ew, and chicken. I unfortunately will not be eating here anymore, I have never been so sick from eating at a restaurant. I can count on my hand how many times I have throw up in my life. Last time was back in 2020. I hate to leave a negative review, but please be aware.

Coyotl S.

Yelp
Been taking out or having their awesome lunch specials for 15 years (then they were called Leela Thai) and having lived 17 years in Southeast Asia i can tell you this is the real deal. Lovely people work there too by the way.

Yelp
Looking for a good Thai restaurant in LA? This is the place to go!!!! You will not regret it, here's why.... Food- Delicious, fresh and authentic. Everything we ordered was supper delish, full of flavor. Service-really fast, friendly and attentive staff. The son of the owner is really, really nice and helpful. Ambiance- nice ambiance with a nice size patio/garden area.

Yelp
Came here on a Sunday around 1 pm. There's no private parking lot and being as it's silver lake, parking can be a challenge. Fortunately we were able to find a spot a block away on the street. We were greeted and allowed to choose our seats immediately. I specifically wanted to sit on the back patio because of the plants and decorations. We decided to get the Tom yum and Tom kha beer because we were curious, $9 each. We also got the appetizer medley, the larb duck, khao soi with pork, and massaman curry with beef. We got the entrees at a medium spice level. The total ended up being less than $100 without tip. The beers were larger than we expected. They were some tall boys. The Tom kha had a nicer flavor because of the coconut, but these were definitely not our favorite beers. Still cool to try and brewed in Riverside! The appetizer medley slapped. This was my 3rd favorite item of the night. Everything was piping hot and crispy, they went well with the not overly sweet Thai chili dipping sauce. The larb duck came out with the medley. This was my favorite!! The duck was soooo flavorful and tender. The fatty meat went so well with the fresh veggies, especially the Thai basil, fresh cut onion, and raw cabbage. A blast of tangy and savory flavor. The khao soi was my 2nd favorite. I loooooove khao soi so much because it's the perfect curry soup. The portion was very large. It had so much meat and noodles. Super creamy and very flavorful. The massaman curry was good, I just think I'm not a huge fan of this particular curry. Nothing wrong with it and still had a lot of good flavor! All of the entrees weren't that spicy for us at this restaurant. There definitely was some spice, but I think the next time we come we could try the next spicy level! I'm mad we didn't get to try any of the sweet items bc we were so stuffed. We planned to take leftovers home (which we did) but we had no room for mango sticky rice or the crepe cake! Service was so friendly and quick. I can't wait to come back and try more items, especially the dessert!

Yelp
The green curry was like a tasty, spicy hug--if hugs made you sweat. Creamy coconut and a fiery kick hit just right, while the brown rice played it cool, keeping things balanced. A delicious adventure, but have your water ready!
google avatar

Mariam N.

Yelp
Absolutely, our favorite Thai restaurant... every dish was amazing ! We had an amazing experience and we keep in coming back ! So flavorful and incredible satisfying!
google avatar

Rascal X.

Yelp
Very disappointed! Been going here for years. Today, my favorite green curry had a blue color tinge to it, like they added blue food coloring, there were no red peppers or eggplant and the chicken was dry and sliced very thin. Also, the large container has shrunk in size and not in price. The Pad See Ew egg noodles were mushy, overcooked and the beef was dry, sliced super thin. It seems they are using less quality meat and poultry sliced from a slab, like processed meat. Not appealing at all. Time to move on.

Hazel H.

Yelp
We waited an hour and a half but it was well worth the wait. What a great place to celebrate my 30th with family. The service was perfect from start to finish. The food came out faster than expected and they were able to fit our party of 10 comfortably. Everything on the menu is superb. Nothing will disappoint, but the curries here are confronting and perfectly spiced.

Yelp
Set in a lovely, backyard garden-esque atmosphere, The Silver Lake House serves homey and comforting dishes. I was wowed by the panang curry paired with sticky rice. A simple dish with chicken, green beans, and peppers, but seasoned to perfection. Although I love green thai tea and Thai iced coffee, I would personally pass on the drinks as they are too sweet. They get busy, but service is friendly and attentive. No parking lot - there's neighborhood street parking on a long road.
google avatar

Dan P.

Yelp
I like this place. The Tom Kha at this restaurant when dining in is perfect. The flavor is fantastic, but only when you eat it fresh at the restaurant. Unfortunately, the to-go or delivery experience is a letdown. The portions are surprisingly small for the price. I've ordered the 'large' Tom Kha to-go twice, and both times it barely amounted to one serving of watery soup with only four shrimp. The 'large' portion is supposed to serve two, but that hasn't been my experience. Additionally, they never include utensils, which is inconvenient. While I highly recommend dining in, I'd skip ordering this dish to-go.

Yelp
P.O.V. If you grew up eating Thai bbq or la Ochoa almost weekly as a child with your family and then you went vegan and couldn't really enjoy much at either of those places? And any other Thai spot that was able to accommodate vegans wouldn't be able to have vegan soup options because everything is premade, BUT then you found a gem in silver lake that gives off a tree house vibe (patio) that not only accommodates to vegans, but both you (vegan) and your non vegan friends and family can all enjoy all the superb Thai cuisine that this place offers (and yes includes vegan soup!) Yes, there's vegan Thai spots, but for those who are looking for a place that accommodates to both vegan and non vegan- have this be your Thai spot! *the only protein choice is tofu however that is no issue for me as it's DELICIOUS* For more recommendations follow my instagram: Soybienvegana

Yelp
My go-to Thai restaurant! Lots of self parking Always warm and friendly service Amazing food Highly recommend the papaya salad!

Yelp
Incredible food, lovely staff, and such a damn vibe inside. I've ordered a TON of different dishes from their menu and have devoured everything. The staff is always welcoming and friendly, and the design of the place feels so homey. Love this restaurant with all my heart.

Yelp
The Silver Lake House is a gem for Thai food lovers! Their Pad See Ew is perfectly balanced with tender noodles, fresh veggies, and a hint of sweetness that keeps you coming back for more. The green curry is rich, creamy, and packed with just the right amount of spice, making it a perfect comfort dish. We also tried the fried rice, which was light, flavorful, and not greasy at all--a perfect accompaniment to the rest of the meal. If you're in the area and craving quality Thai food, The Silver Lake House is definitely worth a visit!

Yelp
I forget where I saw The Silver Lake House on social media! The Thai here was just so welcoming! We had the devil wings, the seafood platter, which was sizzling and the vegetable dish if I can recall. The wings were a bit too spicy, but they were perfect, it's hard to find wings like this that have the chili garlic sauce. I also like that the sizzling seafood plate was exactly what I expected. Ambience was great they had seating indoors and out.

Yelp
I really enjoyed my time at The Silver Lake House restaurant, everything was enjoyable. The food is delicious and packed with flavor, especially the Tom Kha soup which was featured a super tasty broth! The restaurant itself has quite a cool setup featuring indoor and outdoor and it is nestled in a nice neighborhood. Service is on top of it, with an attentive and friendly staff. It does get pretty busy sometimes so expect a bit of a wait, but it is well worth it!

Yelp
The food smelled great. The ambiance was beautiful. I'll never know how the service was because me and my black husband did not get seated. Everyone around us did. Then someone came up and told us there was no tables available. We left. Sad world. 2025

Yelp
Horrible service, did not greet us with hello or even thank you. Very rude. Food was mediocre. No napkins, chopsticks, soy sauce or anything on a to go order. Doubt that I will be going back again.
