"Just 20 minutes up PCH from SLO is Morro Bay, a little beach town famous for a giant rock that juts out of the ocean. It’s also a great place to watch the sunset. And, while the town is lined with plenty of ocean-facing bars, our favorite is The Libertine Pub. The second location of the popular SLO brewery (which specializes in sours), Libertine Pub has a divey feel, a solid bar food menu if you get hungry, live music, and floor-to-ceiling windows facing the water. This is also an ideal pre-drinks spot before heading up to dinner at Cass House." - brant cox

The Siren is a fantastic place! We went on Taco Tuesday, and the tacos were good—fresh and flavorful. The music was great, and the atmosphere was fun and inviting. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the drinks were excellent. Plus, you can play pool, which adds to the laid-back vibe. Overall, it’s a perfect spot to relax, enjoy good food and drinks, and have a fun time. Highly recommend!

The place was cool, but the service was so so. The food, im being kind giving it a 3. The clam chowder was runny and the smash burger was lacking something. The music was good and the people were cool.

We've had some fun nights here over the years. ! It's great that they change up the food and cocktail menu regularly, so there's always a new drinks/bites to try, I've never had a bad cocktail here. There is a nice patio in the back with fireplace and games available. It has a stage for bands and concerts with great sound. We love coming for the live music and end up meeting new friends! On some nights they can get really busy but the service is great and everyone is really friendly. The owners have really put love and effort into this place over the years to transform it into the entertaining venue it is today ❤️ Parking on the street USB chargers under bar. There's a cover charge at the door some nights.

Got into town at 9pm and everything was closed except fast food and The Siren. We walked over and ordered a couple of the specials (steak and pastrami sandwiches). The food was excellent and the service top notch.

Went to MB in April....I know... a horrible time to go, usually I go in September. It was cold and I was looking for a stiff drink. I popped in here. Had 2 vodka tonics and had to get back to my room. The bartender brought me the bill....$8.50 I was like huh, must be a mistake. The bartender told me, it happy hour. I still think she had my ticket wrong. But I tell ya, that place was reallt cool. I'll be over there again on my next trip.

Google
As the comments say, this place is probably where to go first. My bartender tender was very attentive and hard at work. He made really nice old fashions too. There's a nice outdoor patio where you can chill by the fireside. I did not see their live music as it's only on select days but it would have been cool!

Google
Great place! The staff was so cool and nice. The food was amazing!! Love that they support live music.

Whenever I visit friends in Morro Bay, I always request that we spend as much time as we can at the Siren, especially when they have a live band performing. The atmosphere, the people, and the staff create an enchanting and inclusive ambiance. I've never left disappointed after an evening there. The Halloween costume party is nothing short of epic, selling out every year. It's an absolute blast. Undoubtedly the top spot in Morro Bay to relax with friends, indulge in fantastic drinks, observe the crowd, groove to live music, and dance to your heart's content!

Yelp
YooHoo, Back in for another Monday night game and dinner. Very quiet and that was just perfect for me tonight. I ordered the crispy chicken sando, hot sauce on the side. Perfect...thank you Fast out of the kitchen, Hot fries, yes. the sandwich had a nice 6z or more breaded patty, cooked just right. A bit of a messy meal but it was worth it. Tonight they did me just fine, now if my team could win... foodguy-martin

Yelp
What a cool spot for drinks and dinner. Great vibes as soon as we walked in and were greeted right away. The bar area was large and even though it was busy the volume was still acceptable. A couple ball games were on and easy to see. There is a patio with a fireplace, tables and dog friendly. Ok, the drinks were made right and tasty. The food was delicious, I had a cup of clam chowder and was seasoned correctly. My wife had the huge Nachos which was very good and did I say huge! I had the Chicken and Waffles. The chicken was crispy and the waffles were made fresh. Oh I forgot there was crispy bacon on the chicken also. We will be back!!!!!

Yelp
Bar tender Hayden is an absolute jerk. Should not be in food or drink service. He was very rude to not only us but an elderly couple next to us. I was shocked at the way he was talking to people.

Kahiwalani M.

Yelp
Omg best bar ever Vincent and Hayden are the shit! Monday nights are lit as fuck. Love this bar. Also best old fashions ever. If you don't come here you're lame.

Yelp
Not sure how I haven't written a review about the Siren yet as it's one of my ALL TIME favorite live music venues and all around spot! Live music, great food, wonderful service and awesome drinks makes this place truly a 5+ star spot! Also, the location in downtown Morro Bay is spectacular - just steps from the ocean and Morro Bay rock! Their staff here is always super nice - the bartenders and bouncers are so friendly and helpful! They have a large indoor space with a large bar, stage, pool table, shuffle board and lots of TVs. Their outdoor space is also awesome with TVs, games (like Connect 4 and Jenga), a good amount of seating, and a fire pit for those chilly nights on the coast. Have seen roughly a dozen different performers at the Siren and they have all been wonderful. Most recently, I saw Meg McRee with a friend and the Coffis Brothers and Alex Lucero with a group of friends - they were both great! They always have a wide variety of performers, so there's something for everyone. Let's talk about the food - everything here is amazing!! To name a few - the tacos are phenomenal, wings are soooo delicious, sweet potatoes are some of the best around, Cajun steak bites are so yummy, and the Bavarian cream filled churros are the perfect sweet dessert!! They always have drink specials and some of our favorites are the Orange Irish Mule and the Huckleberry lemonade (YUM)! Seriously love this place so much, I always take friends and family when they are visiting!! 5 stars, every time!!

Maria C.

Yelp
Food was great! The pretzels and the fried pickles were delicious. The vibe was pretty chill when there wasn't a band and the live music brings all sorts of fun. I'll definitely go back when I'm in Morro Bay again!

Eboni S.

Yelp
Omg!! This sandwich was huge! The t was steaming fresh crispy fresh juicy and perfectly battered and seasoned! 10/10

Yelp
Super pleasantly surprised by this bar. Wasn't sure what to expect, but the food was delicious, the drinks were great, and it was great for watching the football game. We came on a Monday, and they had Mac and cheese as a special, and we added in steak ... so delicious! Super creamy and rich. So many great cocktails to choose from and a good variety of draft beer as well. The Siren Sazerac and the Slippery Mermaid were two of our favorites - two very different drinks but both made well. They also have a bunch of specials cocktails that looked fun. Staff here are great. Prices are good. Plenty of TVs with great sound as well as a pool table. A good stop for a solo night out for the game or with a group of people.

Yelp
At a glance you might just think it's bar food but it's elevated beyond that. Best mini corn dogs I've ever had.. chicken cheesesteak egg roll things were killer fries are always nice and crispy. And you might see some good music on the random even if you didn't plan for it. But it's also a great venue. One of the better ones around honestly.

DeeDee L.

Yelp
Great business!!! Great music and drinks. Great fun times to be had Best music ever!!

Richard W.

Yelp
Rick n Roll with fun bands, the food Menu has a lot of delicious diversity. The bar and cocktail program is creative and posted on chalk boards! Always fun drinks! Service can be tough at the end of the bar for seated guests.

Yelp
This hole in the wall has a history in morro bay a mile long. According to The Siren, they consider themselves to be Morro Bay's hottest sports bar & grill and live music spot. Dancing, billiards & eats! This vibrant and historic venue is the perfect unpretentious hang out where you can hear a variety of local artists, as well as the nation's hottest touring bands. It is a hidden gem where you can catch a really great band who may have links to the central coast or they may just be passing through and want to perform at a small venue. They do have signature cocktail's , & local draft favorites. Not a family joint though, as you must be over 21 to enter. Note: I highly recommend that you eat somewhere else nearby, as food historically stinks... and I've tested this theory multiple times! Otherwise come to relax and 'come as you are' is an understatement at this everything goes bar and concert venue.

Yelp
Late night hunger brought us to the Siren. Great drinks.. Had a Scooby Snack shot which was bigger than expected. The pina coladas were delicious even though they weren't blended. The pub nachos and the steak bites had such a great flavor! Open til 1am. Live band was awesome and the outdoor patio was the perfect place to enjoy oversized games and to smoke.

Cat R.

Yelp
Bar food is amazing .you must try a lemon drop and ahi tuna nachos. Groovy vibe. Kind staff

Diana M.

Yelp
This place is great! Wonderful food and music but it takes a while to get a beer. The line, if you didn't have a seat at the bar, was long.

Sophie A.

Yelp
The only place in town for happy hour. Great beer and great happy hour prices for drinks and food. We got a BLT with an added fried egg that was eggcellent and hit the spot. They have live music most nights. We didn't stay long enough to experience that but the bartender was friends and recommended great drinks. Will definitely be back when we return to Morro Bay

Pam H.

Yelp
Fun night live bands and great bartenders. Food was good Had a special drink grape kamikaze

Tish H.

Yelp
Super experience seeing Led Zepigan, a Led Zeppelin Tribute Band at the Siren. Orderly entrance and lucky we got there early so we had a perfect table for the 4 of us to enjoy the show and a couple of beers. Sound was a good combination of succinct acoustics and pulsating base. Good crowd, house was full but it wasn't a sardine can either. Service at the bar was prompt and friendly. If you haven't tried the Mexican Larger- I recommend it. I prefer a lighter hops "take" and this one is a perfect combination of "light" in a dark beer. Bathrooms were clean and they have an outdoor smoking area. Parking is on the street so be prepared to walk if you arrive close to door opening. Really fun evening. Can't wait to see another band.

D Z.

Yelp
Such a fun night! Great, hard-working bartenders, special thanks to "Montana"... ... ...

Brandon Z.

Yelp
Cool environment love the shows but the bartenders have trouble taking orders at times . Especially when busy . Maybe have line up designated areas so customers don't get skipped over multiple times .

Linda K.

Yelp
The siren gets a 5-star from me today, 3 years later, just because of the fire pit outside area. Just stay open back there till 10pm at least, I so enjoy it. Next complements to the awesome female bartenders. I have seen some great bands here and unlike SLO brew rock (standing only) I can at least sit down after dancing. I spend my anniversary and new years here 30/31st and other special occasions. Staying at the beach bungalows. (Very special place) the siren is big enough to have a crowd, unlike many other much smaller venues(no room to move or seating) Thxs Siren for being a destination to party in comfort and with a good variety of talent.

Priscilla S.

Yelp
Best kitchen in Morro Bay, we regularly go for the signature burger or the burrito with asada. Free music shows and well as great cover bands and big stars. The bartenders and staff are super sweet! If you're in town or a regular definitely stop by. Great for Sunday football too!

Mary M.

Yelp
We wanted to do a little bar hopping during our camping trip. We stopped here for a drink, and the atmosphere was just our style. We wanted to try another bar across the street, and the vibe wasn't there for us, so we went back to the Siren. Montana and Vinny were bartenders, and they were the absolute best. We decided to trust Montana with making a choice of drink for us, and he did not disappoint. We will definitely be back.

Michelle C.

Yelp
You guys really need to get it together. Stopped in this weekend to see a band at 2 pm. Ended up staying after the band was done and spent at least another $100 on drinks. At some point a new band was starting and needed to do a sound check. They shepherded us all outside for 45 minutes, we couldn't order drinks, and then they let everyone in with tickets to the next show and forced everyone else to leave and pay the cover if they wanted to stay. When I said something one of the staff popped off and started an argument with me. Really professional! Why hold us hostage for 45 minutes only to make us leave? Just make us leave in the first place. Don't waste my time.

Leslie M.

Yelp
We just walked out. Sat at a table and the staff saw us, one guy literally walked over to the table next to us (that had been empty) wiped it down and went behind the bar. Place is a joke. Go eat elsewhere and then go across the street to Legends for cocktails.

Raquel M.

Yelp
I am visiting from out of town and wanted to grab a drink. I was super disappointed when I sat at the bar and was completely ignored. The Siren was not busy with only myself and maybe 4 other people. The male bartender with the braids should work on his costumer service. No welcome in or I will be right with you. I ended up walking out and going to the bar Legends across the street. Despite Legends being busy I was greeted immediately and served shortly after.

Tamara H.

Yelp
I would not buy tickets to any shows because you have to stand and drink. Not enough tables or chairs. Uncomfortable.....sat down then they told us we had to stand because tables were reserved.

Shelby H.

Yelp
Love coming here for Sunday NFL brunch. Drinks are delicious and at a great price, the food is really good, & staff is super friendly.

Mary Z.

Yelp
First time in this gorgeous place and we were quite impressed! I had the bacon and Gouda grilled cheese with fig jam. It was the creamiest, most flavorful, to-die-for grilled cheese I've ever had .... and I've had many! My wife had the southwest chicken wrap and was pleased with it. We both ordered dessert. I had the churros which were amazing! I couldn't finish them off, so I took them with me back to the room and ate them the next morning for breakfast. Again, they were amazing!! My wife had the cheesecake. She said something that I've never heard her say in the 13 years we've been married, "This was the best cheesecake I've ever had." She's a cheesecake fiend so that means something. The service was wonderful! And the ambience was so beautiful and inviting. This is a place I would like to return to.

Mark H.

Yelp
We think this is the best bar in Morro Bay. The bands are usually very good and they have a great selection of beer and spirits. I was pleasantly surprised to see Lagavulin 16 on the shelf. It's loud inside with the music but there's an outdoor seating patio that's quieter. Bravo!

Deborah N.

Yelp
Great Brussels, fast and friendly service with a smile. Offering great food, music in a safe environment. Easy access and off street parking

Angel D.

Yelp
Servers could use some help. Maybe designated order stations especially in busier occasions so no one gets looked over.. the nachos are good tho lol

Tom W.

Yelp
I don't drink, but I love this place. Went there last night to watch my nephew, and I left wanting to go back. The vibe and employees were great. Very cool space. The food looked damn good! Cool layout for a live music venue. Looked like a real cool Morro Bay locals hangout. I will definitely go back to eat and watch some great live music!

Laura H.

Yelp
Great music entertainment offered for free and very friendly crowds. Had fun dancing and would like to return

Jeremy T.

Yelp
Nice spot in Morro bay. We stopped for a beer and a snack. I'll be coming back for sure! Good vibes.

Native A.

Yelp
This was honestly the best time I've had in awhile , good ass groves and nice ass bar and good vibes love the beers and kombucha , first time ever at a bar ,(I'm 22) thankful to get to experience this time with such great people

Bruce O.

Yelp
Lots of good drink selections - beer, wine, mixed drinks. Very friendly and accommodating bar tenders. Seemingly good selection of food. We all ordered tacos and 1 burrito. Tasty and filling. No complaints. Very cool venue with lots of high top tables and 12 big screens for sports. Indoor and outdoor seating. Outdoor has a wood fireplace and two big screens. They have a pool table next to the bar. Nice uplifting vibe. I would definitely come back!

Lindsey A.

Yelp
this place is great, awesome food and very nice staff. Im obsessed with the fig grilled cheese and feta Brussel sprouts!

Paola L.

Yelp
We stopped by this bar/grill this past weekend. Drinking spots are in short supply in Morro Bay but this one was so great we visited again in the evening that same day. Daytime: - we visited at about 1 and it was very quiet just us and maybe two other parties, the bartender was fantastic. Super attentive and made sure to check in on us even outside - Their patio area was AMAZING I enjoyed it so much, they have games and a 4 sides enclosed fireplace you can sit around. Perfect for the cooler weather. - the drinks were good, our bartender made the wrong one and let us drink it on the house. It ended up being my favorite! - we had just eaten but the chips and salsa we got were yummy Evening: -waaaay busier, we got here late around 10:30 and it was pretty full but we still got a table for four. -the line to get drinks took a while but the bartender was pretty impressive - I ordered the same drink I had during my visit earlier and it was substantially smaller, that was the only downside - we didn't stay long but it's a place not divey but still cool to hangout I'd visit again for sure!

Jonathan L F.

Yelp
Excellent venue. Nice atmosphere, great sound, great show, friendly staff, awesome night out! They seem to have a varied and interesting array of acts play there. I'll be checking out their concert calendar anytime I might be in the area. (We already ate and didn't try the food,) We were first-time visitors to Morro Bay and catching an unplanned show at The Siren (by 2 excellent acts we'd never heard of) was the cherry on top of a really fun visit!

Juan H.

Yelp
Great atmosphere with good bartenders. Montana and Vinny are some cool guys. Old fashion drink was awesome

Rich S.

Yelp
Cool venue with an eclectic mix of folks doing their thing and respecting each other. Came on a late-Saturday afternoon to hear Lady Goodman -- awesome show! And the bar staff pour a good drink: vodka martini was superb! Cheers! RS

Jeffrey S.

Yelp
Great place to see a band or hang out with friends and play pool. There are tons of different kinds of music venues that pass through Morro Bay. I recently went to a Drag show and had the time of my life. Recently remodeled and the new bar is beautiful. Great local hangout or fun place to stop while you're visiting Morro Bay. The Siren A+

Alisa T.

Yelp
Great service and atmosphere. The Pineapple Old Fashioned was fantastic! Freshly made with care. Looking forward to seeing live music here in the future.

Cristina B.

Yelp
I am so happy we came across The Siren, recommended by a hotel staffer. The brussel sprouts were addicting, the avocado tacos were surprisingly good, as I did not expect them to be fried and the drinks were on point! 10/10!

Wendy B.

Yelp
My friends and I are enjoying a "girl's weekend." Bought tickets to the wonderful band playing there tonight. The 2 main bartenders were complete a$$holes. Condescending, rude, etc. According to the manager, not too busy for good service. Apparently "they're nicer during the weekdays or earlier in the day." FYI - Bar back (Dakota) was very sweet and friendly.

Renee M.

Yelp
Our family loves this place ! It is a great place to hang out, get some food, get a beer or a drink with friends, play pool ,dance, and listen to music. Everyone has a good time and we always make new friends. I like how all the bartenders are outgoing and flirty but stay respectful. My husband and I started going here when we were newly weds and now our grown children live tp hang out making memories.

Gary L.

Yelp
Honestly, I don't know of a better concert venue on the Central Coast. If you're a spoiled upper middle class patron of the arts, maybe you'd like Vina Robles, or maybe The Fremont in SLO better, but if you don't mind standing for a few hours and crowding a stage where your favorite band is blasting through an electrifying set, this is your place. There was no dinner available the night we went, so we will certainly return to try the food, but the venue itself is beautiful, with lots of close circuit screens, and a fabulous bar with really great bartenders. It really takes me back to The cuckoos nest, and Linda's doll hut, only much nicer. Scattered tables are available in the back for those who can't stand for long, but you'd better get in line early to grab one of those. Great, loud, sound system, exciting, eclectic patrons. This place should be a must visit if you live anywhere within a hundred miles, and maybe if your favorite band is in town, even further than that!
