Melrose Pizza Obsession Rises to Unsustainable Levels With New Opening - Eater LA

"The Melrose location of the Sit Down follows in the footsteps of the Los Feliz original on Hollywood near Sunset. The first iteration is a cozy, unassuming neighborhood cafe doing Italian basics like salads, meatballs, and loads of pasta and pizza, just a block or so from places like Kismet and Go Get Em Tiger. With luck, ownership plans to keep the same feeling in place while doing dinner and brunch." - Farley Elliott

My bf and I had a wonderful meal here tonight. Marisa was our waitress and she was wonderful - polite, approachable, and knowledgeable of the menu. She did everything she could to make our meal amazing. The food was outstanding in quality - all homemade and so well balanced in flavour. Nothing too rich or too salty. From the complimentary bread to my Papardelle Ragu, to his Gnocchi alla Norcina, to the Tiramisu. All amazing. It's also BYOB which is great for the wallet. Something rare in LA! Unfortunately there are currently no pizzas on offer here while they sort out some sort of city licensing / standards red tape for their imported Italian pizza oven, but the rest of the menu should be more than adequate based on tonight's experience! I highly recommend going here!

Visited it for a late dinner with my friend. I was surprised how empty they were, but I think it’s because it’s a new location and they don’t have their liquor license yet. Plus the entrance is on the side street, so if someone wonders on Melrose street, they may not notice this place. The food was delicious. We had “build your own pizza” and Salmon entree. The waitress was wonderful. She respected our privacy, yet was there in time to serve us and answer any questions. They have more things on the menu that I would love yet to try! I really enjoyed this place and have nothing to say bad about them. + Good food + Good ambiance + Good service + Good location

This is probably the closest to an Italian pizza I've found in AMERICA. it was freshly made and to my liking. I ordered the Quattro Formaggi pizza made only in Italy 😍😍

Nice people. We were the only customers they had on a Friday afternoon but we thought we'd give it a try. Pros: free fresh Sangria and champagne, good pizza. My husband said his meatballs were enjoyable but in the small side. My calamari was disappointing....it was overcooked. Overall it was ok...not bad but not top notch. We ate outside and fought with flies the entire time which made us hurry up and ask for boxes to take food home. Sooooo they may want to see how they can improve that. True, flies are everywhere but an abundance of them does not make for a pleasurable experience. The place has potential though.

Went for a quick bite for lunch that turned into an hour and a half ordeal and they were not even close to being busy. Three other tables of four or less customers plus my two top and the waitress only came to our table twice. My girlfriend's food was out 30mins before mine because apparently they "burnt" mine but I was never informed of this until it came out exactly 55 minutes after I ordered it. The waitress never came to explain why it was taking so long and never came back to our table to check on us or our drinks. Horrible slow service, but the food was decent, nothing to rave about but edible.

This place is fantastic. Extremely nice service. Ryan was amazing. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. My girlfriend and I split a salad and a pasta and left full. They also have BYOB with no corkage fee while they wait for their liquor license!!! So that’s a win.

We were looking to have an italian dinner and we search on yelp and google maps for recommendations. This place was our first option and they close at 12. It was 10:20pm when we arrive there, the restaurant was empty of clients, and they told us they were closing and we can order just to take away. We went home to eat and was the worst carbonara I’ve ever had: too salty, too much pepper and the pasta was thick and boring.

Really nice people working here but in a time oriented world, way too long of a wait for food. In fact I think they gave my party’s food to someone else as I’ve been told my order was getting made, then remade three times in 1 hour.
