We attended a class where (award winning) Andy Husbands taught us tips, tricks and recipes to up our BBQ game. His teaching style was informative for any level and with humor. He welcomed questions and wants everyone to succeed. He even provided his personal email for follow up questions. We were lucky to have his friend from Jamaica visiting. He taught us about the history and techniques of Jerk BBQ. All the food was incredible!! If you ever get a chance to attend one of Andy’s very popular BBQ events, don’t hesitate. They book quickly and for good reason. Thx to Andy and his team for an amazing afternoon around the smoker.

May 11, 2024 My wife gifted me an excellent in person Smoke house work shop that left me very impressed & intrigued. The location, presentation and especially the historical fun facts that Adam the instructor brought to light was very well put together. I left with alot more knowledge and craving for more. Keeping an eye out for more upcoming classes. Ideal visual aides for people like me to get a sense of how things are done. Brisket and Whiskey was excellent.

The Smoke Shop BBQ was a surprisingly great experience. Their location looked great, it was clean and well maintained. Then there was the food, it was delicious. The pulled pork and chicken were great, it had a good amount of sauce and was not dry at all. The wings were also very good, you should definitely try these if you have not. This place is definitely worth your time to stop by and enjoy a nice meal.

I stumbled upon this spot today and I'm happy i did! Fast, friendly service. The turkey BLT and Wedge Salad were very filling and flavorful. They served Mexican Coke by the bottle. Loved the walk up to the restaurant as it's very beautiful, especially close to dark, the inside is cozy too. When I'm back in the area to explore more, I'll be back.

Delicious, but very expensive for small amount of food, this sandwich, after tax before tip, was just under $19. Came with 1 side-pickles. Bun was non toasted. Ordered Togo, on a Monday for lunch with an empty restaurant.

Google
Delicious! Juicy tender meat! Texas style brisket and sides were amazing. I would come here again. 100% Recommended. FYI there is 3% kitchen appreciation fee added to the bill -included in the fine print and as shown in the menu with the smallest fonts. Free parking up to 3hours at the Mass General Brigham public parking. Seats needs to be more comfortable.

This spot was really nice. We ate outside in the afternoon and a Beautiful afternoon it was!! The food was good. Had the Fish no Bread. Cooked well. Enjoyed the bake beans and Collard Greens. The ribs good. The chicken Salad great!

The food is great, it’s my fav in the Boston area. That said, this location needs a boost in hospitality skills. Let me step through the negatives: -Arrived at restaurant off peak (around 3:30pm). Waited several minutes for hostess to even acknowledge our existence while being in the way of hardworking waiters buzzing past us in the doorway -Once noticed, hostess notifies us that indoor seatings are reservations only, and sees if we would like to sit outside. That was fine since we were planning to enjoy the nice day outside, but there were many tables available inside, confusing us (and the guests ahead of us) -Hostess seated us, but we asked to sit in a table next to the one she brought us to (for more shade). Hostess drops the menu on the first table, says “go for it”, but then leaves without actually guiding us to the other table. We grabbed the menus ourselves and practiced independence seating. -The waiter we had was great, but the person who brought us our wings left us hanging for a while without napkins or cutlery. Wings are saucy, so I did not want to risk having sticky fingers with nothing to clean them with. Overall, it was really a bummer to have such a bad first impression for our meal. I know it is not an easy job, but bad service is way too common in the Boston area today, it really sours the idea of dining out.

Yelp
Pablo was amazing made sure we had everything and when he went on break he showed us our new server and she was nice also. Music was nice the outside seating was beautiful very very spacious inside and outside ... NOW THE FOOD WAS A 10/10 Mac and cheese don't recommend. CORN BREAD was amazing All the food with two drinks the bill was $120.00 If you like BBQ & Smoked food this is the place to go.

Yelp
Location- This is in the heart of the Assembly Row shopping area. It's opposite of Caffe Nero and a short walk from the parking garages and the T. Interior: Typical BBQ joint look with wooden tables and no frill decorations. Background story : Went here on a rainy Saturday (3/23/24), didn't need a reservation although I made one just in case. Immediately seated once the whole party of four arrived. The server took our orders promptly and very patient with our questions. It was the one of the last days of the restaurant week menu which was an amazing deal for either the lunch or dinner option. Food: I got the lunch restaurant week deal- The starter was the fried buffalo ribs (3per serving). It was really good! Think ribs dipped in Buffalo chicken hot sauce with a slight blue cheese drizzle. The sandwich was the burnt ends. Much sweeter than I anticipated and a good amount of meat. This comes with a side- I foolishly fooled the servers suggestion and got the zucchini salad. It needed a lot of salt so I had to add that to gel the flavors shine through. My friends got the Mac and cheese bites which were okay. I'm a Mac and cheese snob so I didn't have high hopes but it was okay. I'm sure the average person would say it was good. They got the pulled pork, pulled chicken and chicken sandwich with was reported to be tasty and the portions were a good size. All meals come with a piece of watermelon which I'm not sure is part of a digestive purpose or just their signature thing. Service: The staff is very friendly and the perfect mix of attentive-not too annoying with checking in/ didn't totally forget about you. This includes the manager of the restaurant! Overall: If I lived in Boston patronize semi regularly. The prices are reasonable and the service is good. Also I should note we were there from 1-4pm and no one even hovered over us or rushed us to leave. I love that as a NYC lady since this is unheard of and the average place in NYC would've escorted us out the door 92 minutes into the meal.

Yelp
My recent visit to the smoke shop was unfortunately not as exciting as I had hoped. The atmosphere felt a bit dull and the food was, to put it simply, just okay. The meats lacked juiciness and flavor, leaving much to be desired in terms of taste. It felt like they had been sitting out for a while, which affected their freshness and overall appeal. Even the sides didn't do much to liven up the meal, and the sauces were a bit lackluster. Overall, I was hoping for a more flavorful and enjoyable barbecue experience. While it wasn't terrible, it also wasn't anything special. If you're looking for a barbecue spot with a bit more excitement and flavor, you might want to try elsewhere.

Yelp
You can never go wrong eating here. I've come to find out that they are all over the place now, so there is bound to be one near where you live. It is a must try. I always get the Pit Boss cause I can never decide on one thing to eat. Pit Boss gives you 3 meat choices and 3 sides for a decent price. Put Crew gives you 2m, 2s. Their cornbread can cause addiction, so eat with caution. My ABSOLUTE fav thing to eat is the burnt ends, but you really can't go wrong with anything you order. Well, I can't speak for Mac and cheese and the sweet mashed potatoes tatse and has the consistency or baby food. It's the one things I'm not a fan of. I've been to several locations, and they are all a great atmosphere. The ambiance is chill. It's cozy eating there. Which is also a problem cause it's hard to leave there after you eat. They need to have a separate area for napping before you drive home. If by any chance anyone that can make decisions is reading this...PLEASE BRING BACK THE COLLARD GREENS!!!!

Michael R.

Yelp
I was in the area and smelled the BBQ and knew I had to stop by. I've been on a Burnt Ends craving lately and saw that they have em, so of course I had to order them. For my 2 sides I chose the Brussels Sprouts and Mac & Cheese. While I liked everything just fine, the Burnt Ends are a little bit spicier than I would usually like. Would definitely go back to try other items, so obviously I liked it enough. lol

Yelp
I love this place! It's located in the busy assembly row shopping plaza, so there's free three hour parking in the garage. The dining area is very large, so there's a good chance that you get seated right away. The staff is very kind and is willing to go through the menu with you to make sure you have the right selections. We opted for the barbecue chicken, Texas style, brisket, mac & cheese, honey, cornbread. All of this was for around $45 after tip and tax. The portions were large. And the meat itself was on par with the better barbecue restaurants in Boston. The sauces were also very delicious as they offer three different styles of BBQ sauce. My favorite was the honey butter cornbread. Make sure to check them out!

Yelp
The smoke shop was a cool little place, nicely decorated and pretty busy on the weekends. We got the famous hot wings, brisket, ribs, and burnt ends. For sides we got collared greens, mac and cheese, and cucumber salad. I heard good things about the wings but I thought they were just average. I really liked the ribs, they came right off the bone. The brisket was good too, not too dry. The burnt ends were too sweet, I didn't really like those. The mac and cheese side was good, and the cucumber salad was a good palate cleanser. I don't know how smoke shop compares to actual southern bbq (never been down south) but I thought it was overall just okay. Service was good, our server was super nice and the food came pretty quick. It was also on the expensive side.

Yelp
Pretty awful service yesterday. Waitress forgot my drink, didn't check in on us to order entrees, we didn't get silverware and had to grab some from another table, no check in to see if we needed anything after the food was dropped. We watched her attend to every other table but us. Even dropped their BBQ sauce buckets at every other table. Would not return

Adam B.

Yelp
First things first, the burnt ends are legitimately awesome. I've waited a loooong time to try some burnt ends so when I saw them on the menu here, I had to get them. And they did not disappoint. So flavorful, tender. They almost feel like they will melt in your mouth but have just enough solidity to them that chewing them is perfectly satisfying. My mouth is watering just thinking about them for the review. I need burnt ends NOW. It was worth the wait and will be searching out more burnt ends going forward. I ordered the platter of three meats and three sides. I got two orders of brisket and one of burnt ends as the meats. For the sides, crinkle cut fries, cornbread, and the coleslaw. All the sides were good. Cornbread maintained it's integrity quite well (I recently had cornbread that just fell apart the moment you cut into it) so that was nice to see. Fries loaded with old bay seasoning for a little kick, and satisfying slaw. An unexpected treat was the toast included, used it to make mini Brisket sandwiches. The brisket was great. Not the best I ever had but just some nice good Texas style brisket. Would reccomend. But the burnt ends, I cannot rave enough about them. My buddy said he was not hungry when I brought the food, but after one bite I almost had to fight him off to protect my burnt ends. Suffice to say, we will be going back. Also shout-out to the crew manning the restaurant and keeping it open during the snowstorm. Felt like a nice friendly place for a relaxing beer.

Yelp
Best thing on their menu is the honeybutter cornbread! That's not to say the other stuff isn't good... it's just not as good as the cornbread! My favorite meat is the pulled pork. Pulled chicken is alright. Brisket is good. I've had mixed results with the burnt ends (not the highest quality meat). Ribs were good. They have a few BBQ sauce options on the table, so you can try several, or stick with a favorite. I've often opted for the sandwich, which is a smaller portion, but nearly half the price (if you have a moderate appetite). Their prices are pretty reasonable, considering the popular area. Service has always been good, I've had the same waiter at least 3 times. Very casual space, inside and out.

Yelp
Amazing food and awesome bourbon selection. Everything was delicious, party of 4 everyone got something different. Brisket, burnt ends, pulled chicken all delicious. Very sensitive to food allergies which we had, dairy and nuts so they have a menu highlighting the choices. Even the salad , no meat or dairy was yummy!! If you like barbecue and bourbon this is the place for you!

Meg C.

Yelp
You can smell the pork wafting through the air at least 1 block away from this BBQ joint. I enjoyed a pulled pork sandwich and the wings were really tasty. My partner said the brisket was alright, just a bit dry. The cucumber salad had the right amount of acid and zip to balance the fatty meat, and the bacon collards were smokey and sweet. It was lunch time on a weekday so it was kind of dead, space was clean and service was good. Sated our need for BBQ after a tough workout.

Kristin C.

Yelp
The atmosphere was great! Service was exceptional! The food was good. It is somewhat pricey. My friend got the pulled chicken which was very tasty but the side of Texas toast was a disappointment. My chicken basket also came with Mac and cheese and cornbread which was very tasty! Appetizer was French fries; my friend for cheese on the side and she said it was very runny, which it was but it was still pretty good. I would recommend this establishment - they say the wings and brisket are popular items!!! Likely will try that next time!

Yelp
Sat outside-assembly row is such a cool area. Our server was amazing and took the time to explain the food and the sauces. The food tasted great and the order came out just as requested!

Yelp
Overall a good place to go to satisfy your bbq craving. Flavors are on point, service is attentive and kind, and the place is well decorated and very clean. We ordered the Nashville Chicken Sliders to start and the Pit Crew for our main. The Pit crew is a combo dish that allowed us to sample three meats (we added an extra meat) and three sides. These are our ratings from highest to lowest: Nashville Chicken Sliders: 5/5 THESE SLIDERS WERE SO GOOD. If you aren't sure what to get for appetizers, get these. The order only comes with two sliders, but they're to die for. The buns are slathered with butter and the crispy yet juicy chicken is topped with a delicious coleslaw and pickle to cut through the grease. I honestly would've been happier to have these as my entree. Pickles and Sweet Potato Mash: 5/5 These were two of the three sides we chose for our combo. The pickles are the perfect balance of sour, sweet, and salty. It does a great job of resetting your palette after a meaty bite of bbq. The sweet potato mash was unexpectedly amazing. It's super smooth and buttery, which paired wonderfully with everything else on the plate (and was super good on its own). Cole Slaw: 4/5 The cole slaw as a side was really good but was incomparable to the coleslaw in the sliders. It was missing the sauce that made it so good with the chicken and bread. Texas Brisket: 4/5 Not as smoky as the other meats, but was overall yummy. Flavors did not stand out as much as the other meats, but it gets a 4/5 because it was well cooked and pretty tender. Pulled Pork: 3.5/5 Not bad. The meat was slightly dry, but the sauce helped cover it up. Burnt Ends: 3.5/5 Super saucy and tasty, but the meat tenderness was either a hit or miss. Out of our four pieces, we only had one that was soft. The rest were pretty dry. Ribs: 3/5 Ribs were tasty but super dry. Not much else to be said.

Yelp
Was shopping with friends and decided to have lunch. Service was goid and food was great

Yelp
I swear my BBQ reviews aren't biased. This just did not hit right for me. The restaurant is quite spacious and it wasn't packed when I came to eat, but I was seated all the way in a secluded corner of the restaurant. That's pretty odd honestly, but I won't think much else about it. I always saw BBQ as a casual thing to me so getting table service is a bit odd to me. Service was okay besides the seating situation. What really disappointed me was the food. Meats were relatively dry and more tough to chew than it should have been. I don't get coleslaw often, but I did this time and it still hurt my soul. The sogginess made it sad . I honestly thought the watermelon was a unique touch which made it fun, but really only complimented an already sinking ship.

Ellen S.

Yelp
Meals here are always delicious. Wish they had collard greens as a side. The AR location is great since I work and live in that are.

Yelp
I tried this place pre-pandemic and was unimpressed. Craving bbq tonight, I saw it was on GrubHub for delivery and decided to give it another try. My first thought was wow this expensive. I got the Pit Boss so I could try 3 meats and 3 sides. The portions are big, and it's more than just one meal. So after seeing that, I was more than OK with the price. The food itself? Excellent. Maybe the best mashed potatoes I've ever had. The meat? Perfect. I got the burnt ends, ribs, and pulled pork. Very flavorful and tender. I would order from here again. Highly recommend.

Stephon M.

Yelp
Whoever was making cocktails made great old fashions! Strong but still flavorful. Wings were solid as well as the brisket Vibe at the bar was chill and the waitress was funny and laid back. So we had great service and a good experience.

Steve K.

Yelp
tried the pit boss again, with a nice glass of eagle rare: - brisket: 2/5, somehow managed to be even drier than before. if you tried to serve this "texas-style brisket" in texas someone will probably start a fight with you. - pork belly burnt ends: 4.5/5, still very enjoyable. some pieces are dried/charred (i know this is burnt ends, but not in a good way) - pulled pork: 4/5. quite good by itself, especially with their bbq sauce, and very good in a sandwich (made a mini sandwich with the bread and pickles) - cornbread: 4/5. pretty good cornbread - nothing super noteworthy, but a nice side to bbq. a little on the sweet side (perfect if you like sweeter cornbread) - potato salad: 5/5. great potato salad, and an excellent complement to the meat. - mac and cheese: 5/5. still a tasty mac and cheese. friendly service, great whiskey collection, decent bbq, and great sides, just avoid the brisket (which is confusing to me to say for a bbq pit, as these are inverted of what I usually care about at one)

Connor B.

Yelp
food is great and have been a lot but today, I made eye contact with the hostess outside with my dog. Sat at an outside table and no one came out for over 20 min. stood up and left.

Nancy B.

Yelp
Six of of us were drawn here by the bbq aroma wafting through the Row and it was fate. Saturday night, with about an hours wait, we hit the bar. We studied the drink menu while tended to by a friendly and patient bartender. Faves were Smoke and Petals and the draft Downeast Blackberry Ciders, so good! As soon as our table was ready, our attentive server Andres quickly grabbed us orders of the famous wings and the hot wings, both amazing! Our dinners and sides were excellent and included just about every meat on the menu. No doubt, we'll be back!

Jonathan G.

Yelp
If you want burnt tasteless rubber passing off as meat this is the place for you. I mean if you burn Texas toast and are ok with serving that how can this place be expected to serve decent BBQ. Terrible food and even the sides weren't that good either, flavorless. Definitely won't be trying this place again. Straight garbage

Luis G.

Yelp
Best smoked BBQ wings in Boston, in my personal opinion. Me and my co-workers come here for drinks often, and Luisa the bartender is so lovely, she knows us all by name. It's hard to find good BBQ this far north, smoke shop does it right.

Kelly C.

Yelp
Thank you for a spectacular dinner Chef Andy! The place was packed with smiles and good food all around. Service was prompt (20 minutes) and waitstaff was super attentive. Two of us got the weekly special big beef rib (only available on Friday and Saturday) which comes with two sides and the pit boss which comes with your choice of three meats and three sides. Oh my god, if you've never had a smoked big beef rib, you're missing out! These are an EXPERIENCE! The meat is so tender that it literally just falls off the bone and the flavors and juices are just unbelievable. Loved the coleslaw, it was finely chopped up just the way I like it and nicely! Bacon collards were the best we've ever had! Made with just enough sweetness and tang to deliver a soul filling experience with every bite. The crinkle cut fries were perfectly crispy and delicious, tossed in an Old Bay like seasoning. For Pit Boss #1, we chose brisket, 1st place ribs (pork) and wings. The brisket was definitely the winner for the meats, it just melted in your mouth! The ribs were so tender and smokey, the meat slid right off the bone. The wings were pretty good and tasty, couldn't decide between the famous wings or the hot wings so we got both. Definitely LOVED the hot wings. The Texas toast was nicely buttered with garlic. What an amazing dinner, we all left with full bellies, and talk of coming back soon. Thank you again Chef Andy!

Kevin W.

Yelp
Was looking at the menu at home and just felt a craving for some bbq meat sandwich. Got a burnt ends sandwich with fries and Mac and cheese. Wasn't necessarily disappointed but wasn't very impressed. Just to be clear, the sandwich is just your choice of meat between a bun. Personally the meat was a bit too saucy and really drowned the taste of the meat. The mac and cheese was very mediocre Good idea with the spice and the breadcrumbs but the execution could be better. One frustrating part was that I sat around for 10 mins while all the waitresses were talking to themselves. I did walk in around 10 mins after opening so they weren't busy but that's just unacceptable. Overall, would be open to going back some time in the future but definitely not for at least a couple months.

Dan C.

Yelp
We did a takeout order for 6 of us and the food was amazing. We've got a few decent bbq options locally but I think this place is my new go-to whenever I'm in the need of a bbq "fix".

Connie C.

Yelp
If you are craving some Smoked BBQ food, this is your go-to! Everything was finger-licking good. Conveniently around all the shops at assembly square close to the assembly train station! We got the Pit Boss - choice of 3 meats and 3 sides. Ribs / Brisket / Pulled Pork was the best combo. Everything was so tender and flavorful. It will definitely fill you up. Sides - must get cornbread, crinkle fries, cornbread Mac and cheese! They also have solid kids menu for $7. Meat and Side portions are pretty much the same size! Amazing deal for kids under 12.

Jim L.

Yelp
I cannot recommend the service or food at this establishment. I play intramurals with a group just outside and this location was ideal as a meeting point before our game. I arrived a half hour early to grab a table, I was placed on the waitlist (which I understand). The ETA was stated at 7:42p with most of my group arriving at 7:30p The front staff seemed completely disoriented when I came back to check-in and started giving me a hard time when I asked for the status. It's a Thursday evening and I'm just looking to grab some drinks and food with friends - I'm not holding you at gun point... I sat at the bar to grab a drink and some of my friends rolled in - I told the staff where I was sitting if they could let my group know when the table was available. We sat for a while and were never notified, there was a booth open the entire time we were seated at the bar. Now, to top this off, the service was awful. The food we ordered came late and were completely wrong. Never coming back ever.

Siramay N.

Yelp
There is a 28 dollar option where you can choose a couple things if you can decide. ALWAYS GET THE CORN BREAD. It is so moist and delicious. The big tray filled my mom and me, AND we took some home. We didn't wanna sit outside because there were some bees but that's not the restaurants fault. If you don't want to wait to pay you can pay via the QR code. I loved ALL of the sauces. And the spicy sauce was not too spicy so I'd recommend you try them all! It is very reasonably priced and you can see some of the food being prepared.

Carol S.

Yelp
Normally I wouldn't give negative reviews but this is the second time I've been at this location. Normally we go to the Boston location on Congress St and the food is great. But as I said this is second time at Assembly Row location. First time there food was ok. This time it was Christmas Eve early around 1pm and weren't to many people at that time. Our server was excellent but totally disappointed in the food. Burnt ends were horrible very over cooked, ribs had hardly any flavor and looked like a small glob of thick white grease under them. Another member had some type of sandwich that she said the bottom of the bread was all greasy also we ordered I'm not sure if it was Pit Boss or Pit Crew but they also said there was hardly any flavor and seemed over cooked. I will continue to go to your Boston location but Assembly Row is out. Sorry

Kylea G.

Yelp
They recently changed owners or manager or something & the whole vibe here changed. This used to be my favorite place to chill, talk to the bartender, casual but quick & super enjoyable. Now it's uppity & rushed. The bartenders don't know anything about bourbon let a lone care to explain flavor to you. Takes forever to get check etc. just not the same homey feel it used to be... I've given it a few chances since the change but still same poor disappointing experience. Luckily the food is absolutely delicious so I can't say anything bad about that in no way!!

Alyse F.

Yelp
This was an incredible dining experience for my 7 year old son who has multiple food allergies (and not your typical ones)! The chef/owner emailed back and forth with me to share options and ask questions. He even booked the reservation for us wanting to take care of us himself. Unfortunately, he was unable to be there at the day and time we were planning, but the manager was ready and waiting for us. The owner even baked safe rolls and prepared a safe dessert for my son, which he dropped off at the restaurant that morning. Above and beyond and everything was delicious! I have never been completely at ease while dining out with my son and this was the first time. Highly recommend and we will be back soon!

Heidi R.

Yelp
I went there yesterday for the first and last time. The cornbread was great! The pulled bbq chicken didn't taste like bbq chicken. The beans were gross. The mashed potatoes had a horrible taste (they put pork fat and vidalia onions in). I left my entire meal there. The waitress only came to give water and to take dishes off table. We had to ask for the check. We spent $175 for 5 and nobody liked the food!

Brittney C.

Yelp
Delicious food and nice ambience. They need to fix the dr pepper machine tho haha. Dr Pepper was messed up both days I was there, very delicious food. I specifically like their chicken wings, brisket and baked beans. Very nice and I would absolutely come again.

Carra F.

Yelp
This location is very nice outside with the patio seating as well as inside. Went here for dinner and got lucky finding a spot to park right away. It was a nice day outside but a little windy so be careful with the menus flying away. I ordered the brisket sandwich with the beans and my SO got the pulled pork sandwich with cornbread. They both came with watermelon. It was all really good and both their sweet and their spicy bbq sauces were great. The only thing I wish this place had was corn on the cob side and better desserts. This place is really great and I definitely recommend for anyone wanting good BBQ.

Yelp
Holy Smokes!! Been hitting up Andy Husbands's Smoke Shop for a few years and figured it was finally time to show some love. These particular pictures were from my recent takeout experience. Idk where to even start. I know BBQ is usually about the meat and the sides are often an afterthought but that sure ain't the case at The Smoke Shop. Their two potato salad has got a nice crunch to it and is a far cry from boring potato salad. It's my fav side. A close second is their zucchini salad. It's crisp and adds a nice citrus bite. While not pictured, there beans are bomb. I love that they aren't very thick, but still bring plenty flavor. The cornbread is something special. It's deliciously dense and topped with a sweet honey butter. The meats are obviously where it's at. I don't normally like chicken wings, but these aren't your normal wing. They pack a ton of that Smokey flavor and are topped with an agave something that adds a delicate sweetness. The ribs are ridiculous. Tons of meat, Tons of flavor, tons of moisture. Idk what else to say. The brisket is one of the best I've ever had, not even kidding. Yeah, it's not as good after the 15 minute ride home but when you get it fresh it really is incredible. The crust and smoke ring is gorgeous. We've tried all of the other meats they offer, and they do not disappoint. If you get a chance, swing by on Friday or Saturday and try the Big Beef rib. It's a little pricy at 41 a plate but it's off the hook ridiculously good. Last but certainly not least, their BBQ sauces are mouthwatering. They've got the hot, the sweet and the tangy which all bring something different to your meal. My only complaint is that you don't get enough BBQ with your take out order. Thankfully, they sell bottles of their sauces which frequently make appearances in my kitchen. When it's all said and done, you're going to be hard pressed to find a better BBQ joint in New England. No joke. Some Places have really good meat, and blasé sides, but not The Smoke Shop. They do it all so damn well.

Yelp
I saw on Smoke Shop's social media page that it was serving BBQ brunch so I had to stop by! Brunch is served on Saturdays and Sundays from 11am to 3pm. My waiter and the waiter-in-training were incredibly friendly. I opted to sit outside even though it was a bit chilly, and they had no issue with it. I ordered the Fried Chicken Benny, Pit Boss Breakfast Tray, and Cold Irish Coffee. I have to say... I forgot how filling Smoke Shop is! The eggs benedict was amazing, but when you add fried chicken *and* gravy, it's a whole new level of "I'm feeling so, so full right now!" The Cold Irish Coffee was also superb. You can really taste the alcohol in cocktails at Smoke Shop compared to other restaurants. It's worth mentioning that there's also a Mimosa Bucket that serves four... I'll have to come back for that!

Yelp
Had a great experience here last month when I took my nephew to eat there before he graduated from law school. He had a smoked pork sandwich, I had a platter and we both had the awesome gooey butter cake for dessert. The smoked turkey was a stand out, and the sides (corn bread and greens) were also great. The waitress and host both greeted him with congratulations a few times, which was a nice ... the service was terrific.

Yelp
Oh my goodness, where to even begin? Food was incredible, fulfilling, reasonably priced and the ambiance was nice. It's located in an area full of activities and things to do as singles, couples, family fun, and more. The only reason I did not give a 5/5 was the serve was extremely slow. Our waitress went missing in between requests for like 30 mins at a time! (No exaggeration)

Yelp
Wow! The food was so yummy! I got the option to choose two meats and two sides. My two sides were cornbread and fries, while my friends sides were coleslaw and potato salad. Everything had so much flavor and the portions were perfect for one person! The waitress was super nice and friendly. The restaurant was Clean. I can't find anything wrong with my experience today.

Yelp
Wow Amazing! I went here for a work lunch. It did not disappoint. I went with the Pit Boss.... 3 meats and 3 sides Brisket, pulled BBQ Chicken and Pork Belly Burnt ends. All delicious! The cucumber salad... yes!!! Mac & - cheesy Cornbread so good! But the little extra they put in the middle of the tray.... jalapeños, pickled onions... terrific! Great place to have lunch when you're walking around Assembly Row!

Yelp
This place is so bomb! The host was so sweet and friendly! We took our food to go but couldn't even help but eat it in the car and we finished it before even getting home.‍ I definitely wish we got a picture of it all, but it was too yummy. It's to die for! They have cute outdoor sitting and inside is so pretty with a nice bar. We will definitely be back ASAP

Yelp
Def good. Service a bit slow but it wasn't the servers fault. Leisurely dinner. We got here at 530 for our reservation and didn't get seated until about 6. A table was being horribly slow in leaving lol. Ribs were good. The baby back looked a little dry. A little too much bark like they had been a tad over cooked but the flavor profile was great. Brisket was super moist. Thick pieces. Loved the cold slaw and Brussels sprouts. The cucumber salad tasted good but like it was missing some tang. The beans were ok. Not a glsvorbik used to but I liked them. Drinks -ok. He had the gin based Bloody Mary ish thing. I had a bantam rojo cider. They should choose a different bantam Cider to serve. The sour cherry clashed with the meal The cider needs to be on the sweet side to complement the spices. Waitress Chloe was adorable. We'd go back for sure.

Yelp
Couldn't believe the amount of food served! It was phenomenal, and the service can't be better!

Yelp
I ordered the Baby Back Pork Ribs Full Slab. I was not expecting the ribs to be so tender. It was not Texas BBQ tender, but it was enough to get the meat completely off the bone with fingers or a bite. The Crinkle-Cut Fries were seasoned well and I thought those were decent. The Pimento Mac & Cheese tasted very good but the consistency of the macaroni was a bit tough for me.

Yelp
I visited the Assembly Row Smoke Shop location on New Years Day. I've been to the Kendall Square location before - the ambiance is a bit different between the two locations, but the food is standard. The restaurant wasn't too busy and we got our food pretty quickly. Loved how they let you pick from a number of sides and all the entrees came with a watermelon slice. All the meats were great! It's not quite Texas or Kansas City BBQ, but for Boston, this place does the trick. We especially loved the burnt ends!

Yelp
My friends and I went to the Assembly Row location of the Smoke Shop, and we truly had the most terrible experience. Not with the wait staff, they were amazing, but with the manager Karl. To provide some context, my friends and I had to wait almost an hour for our food. This was on father's day so I understand they were a little back up, but two tables that ordered way after my table got their food way before we did. It upset me because both of these tables were white people and us table had POCs. The waitress was completely nice to us and understood our frustration with how long my group was waiting for our food. She offered to grab a manager for us, and when Karl came over, I explained my issue with the long wait and the fact that two tables who came after us got their food before us. Karl, with complete lack of empathy, states that the food was only put in 40 mins ago. Completely ignoring my table's frustration with two tables getting their food before us and waiting for over an hour. He offered a free dessert, but at that point, I just wanted to pay for the drinks we had and go. Everyone at my table felt really uncomfortable with how he talked to us, and when we talked to a few of the wait staff, we were told that he is rude to all the customers and staff. The only reason I know the manager's name is Karl is because the wait staff gave it to me. In terms of the food, my pork burnt ends were extremely salty. I've been to this location multiple times and have never had an issue, but just how Karl the manager treated my table, I don't know if I would ever go back.
