The Snug

The Snug bar is a brilliant Irish pub located in Wantagh just across from the train station! The bar is decorated really nicely and it is very clean! There is a long bar with stools, loads of seating around the bar and great back patio that is outside to relax in if you are looking to be in the open air! The satff are really friendly and attentive. We had a great time chatting to Kim since it was 16:30 in the day when we were there and there was only a few people in the bar at that time. I have to give a shout out to Kim as she was really great! For drinks, there was a fantastic selection of Whiskey and there is a nice selection of beers to choose from as well. We decided to have a couple of pints of Guinness that were really cold and they hit the spot on a hot day! There are a few tv's dotted around the bar but I highly recommend coming here for the company rather than watching something on tv! One major point to note for any Irish person who may enter The Snug, is that they offer a cheese Toastie made with "Brennan's Bread"! As any Irish person living abroad will know its hard to come by good Irish bread! If you are in the Wantagh area I recommend that you stop by for a couple of cold pints of Guinness in The Snug near the Wantagh train station!

Being new to the neighborhood it is very important to explore and visit all of the bars and restaurants. I came to find this bar is also new to the neighborhood. I was impressed by the atmosphere and decor. It was in fact very cozy but also with the feel of a typical bar. Service was good, friendly & respectful. Bar was clean, drinks were good. Cant wait to return and try some food items!

This new place is so cute and cozy. They have a good selection of mixed drinks and a good selection of craft beers. The outdoor patio in the back is a nice addition. My husband and I went late on a Thursday night, it was quiet however we were not disappointed. We cannot wait to come back. It is a nice addition to the area.

Great little bar hidden in the shadow of mulcahy's. It is a great little tavern on wantagh avenue manned to by solo bartender Sean who did an amazing job making my feel welcome .

This latest Irish bar in Wantagh lives up to it's name. A quaint little place just off the train station that makes you feel snug. The drinks are great with both indoor and outdoor seating arrangements, but most importantly is the staff. Joe is the best bartender in town hands down, you can't find a nicer or more friendly guy, on top of serving you a delicious drink. The place has a few TVs for any major games being played and some small food options in case you want something to snack on. Will gladly come back here for drinks any time. Warning though, dedicated parking leaves something to be desired, your best bet is to park in the train station parking lot behind the building or across the street and walk a little.

I come here frequently and Shawn is the reason I come back. He’s very polite & respectful and always have a great conversation with him every time I show up. If you’re looking for a place to vibe out with a chill bartender, Shawn is the guy to go to.

Great tasting pub food! Corned beef spring rolls and boneless wings are really good. Happy Hour prices make you feel like it's 2019, and Lisa is a great bartender!

What an adorable little place for a cocktail! Cute and cozy vibes. Friendly bartender. Interesting and moderately priced drinks. We stopped in for some pre dinner cocktails and were really impressed with this place. Will definitely be back!

I was planning on going out in Wantagh for my cousin's 21st birthday and when we drove by we saw this new bar. We got into town first before everyone else so we decided to grab a drink there, well we ended up staying the whole night. Super clean Irish bar, lots of space inside for groups. They even have a back patio. Good beer selection, they also had high noons in the fridge! I stuck with Guinness all night which were poured perfect and had a few rounds of very good green tea shots for the birthday girl. Music was great, mostly alternative from 2010s when I was there. Staff was also welcoming and friendly. Hope to come back to get some late night eats soon. Best of luck!

Absolutely love this place. Aidan is the best and he is there Saturday nights. He makes a phenomenal pretzel and also has great customer skills. 5 stars. Service was great, shots were great! Also this is a VERY clean bar. Highly recommend stopping by here. I will be back !

We were there today after a memorial service for a childhood friend & I have to say the staff was fabulous bartenders wonderful great service awesome food We will be back for sure

Love the atmosphere, bartenders, drinks and food. The place is really clean and well kept. The pretzel is a fave and so is the Shay drink.

The best new bar around right now on all of Long Island! It brings a classic sense of Irish tradition and a lot of fun to your local neighborhood. From the beautiful indoor old school decor and style that makes you feel cozy and warm, to the back patio that's makes you feel right at home The Snug is here to stay especially when it comes to there delicious wings, appetizers, delicious drinks and Slammin Sammie's! It was a Wednesday night and a couple of us girls went out last minute. The place was quiet. A few different spaces to sit besides the bar. Drinks were good, strong. We ordered different apps (large pretzel - delicious, corned beef egg rolls and the sampler) they were all well made. It's has a small outdoor seating too with a couple of TVs. Definitely be back.

Do Not Support!!! In town for a wedding and our first stop was this establishment while waiting for our hotel room to be ready. It's decorated beautifully and looked like a great place to have a drink...we quickly realized that this was not what we had in mind. There was a women sitting at the high top table next to us and, within a few minutes, was accompanied by a friend with a toddler. Being that we are visiting from Florida this didn't alarm our party, what did.....was the fact that the mother proceeded to have her toddler sit on the bench at the "high" top table and began knocking back drinks like it was happy hour on Sunday. At one point, I told my boyfriend that I was going to say something to the bartender as the toddler was leaning over while walking her hands along the edge of the table and at that exact moment, the toddler fell head first on to the metal footrest. I will admit that I jumped up and said "What the "f*ck" is wrong with you?" When the mom nor her friend quickly jumped up to pick up the child, as my boyfriend was blocking my access to jump up and grab her myself. Instead, they proceeded to cuss me out for " being mother of the year" because they acted as if nothing was wrong with the child. The mother proceeded to walk outside and her friend walked over to the bar, said something to the bartender, who proceeded to hand her 2 more drinks. She walks over to the door and loudly tells the Mom that "It's okay, the bartender is on our side and says we should go sit out back on the patio". The mother proceeds to come back to grab her drink while the toddler is holding the back of her head in pain and starts spewing insults asking why we picked "their" bar as we proceeded to tell them we were on vacation and didn't realize that we were going to have to babysit because she cared more about her drink then her child. I was tempted to call the police, but considering this establishment's staff allows stuff like this to go on, I doubt they will be in business for long. I pray for that baby's future because she clearly didn't care that the toddler may have a concussion and kept drinking. I would suggest the owners check out the surveillance video from Friday and make sure they have enough insurance to cover children getting injured on their premises due to the negligence of their staff.
