The Spire Hotel (Queenstown, South Island) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Though you’d never know it from the mass media, there’s a lot more to New Zealand than luxury lodges, adventure sports and Lord of the Rings tours. Queenstown, for example, may be known for its alpine setting, a mecca for skiers and snowboarders, but it’s a cosmopolitan city as well, as amply demonstrated by the urbane Spire hotel." - Tablet Hotels

The Spire Hotel Queenstown | Best places to stay in New Zealand

"Right in the heart of Queenstown, this luxury boutique hotel is an oasis of indulgence in this outdoorsy, adrenaline-pumped adventure capital, for those seeking some element of seclusion. The hotel offers just 10 guest rooms – each with its own gas fireplace. There’s an in-house Mediterranean/Turkish restaurant, and guests have access to the local gym 4-minutes’ walk away. Service is personal and impeccable, including an in-house concierge. For many years now, one of the most desirable addresses in Queenstown – especially if money is no object. " - Mark Chipperfield

We stayed here for 6 nights and it was sensational. The team were kind and professional and helped to make our stay so much fun. Set right in the middle of town within minutes of the lake, the hotel was super handy and close to restaurants, pubs and shopping. The room was luxurious with a bottle of nz Pinot waiting for us on arrival.

Amazed by the excellent service from all the staff, especially Lucas for the best cocktails, Charlotte for the amazing welcome, and Eyrie for the kind smile and perfect coffees every morning. My birthday celebration at The Spire was unforgettable—I totally recommend it and will definitely be back.

After many visits to Queenstown for skiing we took a last minute 7 night stay @ The Spire and WOW was it worth it!! 2 Adults plus 1 Child on a rollaway in a suite. The staff are so passionate and caring yet quiet and invisible most times making it feel like home. Daily breakfast was a highlight and the free mini bar included and topped up daily (pay for alcohol). The housekeeping is world class - felt like the room was turned over every time we left both morning and night. Deluxe towels and sheets and big screen TV & fireplace all made for a super relaxing holiday. I’ve read many reviews noting noise issues but we only ever heard some very early morning noise once and it stopped as soon as it started. Would stay again for staff, location, warmth and luxury vibes xo

My wife and I recently travelled to Queenstown for 5 nights, and we were lucky enough to stay at The Spire Hotel. What a fabulous place to stay. The room had everything from an electric fireplace to a massive king bed and a stylish bathroom, but the difference between this Hotel and the rest, is the staff. From Thibaut and Maddie in the bar/restaurant to all of the front desk staff, they were all so welcoming and friendly, and genuinely took an interest in our daily plans and activities, and provided tips and insights to this great part of the world. When I next return to Queenstown, I will definitely be staying at The Spire Hotel again.

With an unexpected delay in Queenstown due to cancelled flights- this was the perfect overnight stay that had everything I needed and more. Friendly professional and welcoming staff. Callum (I think that was his name) was great and very informative of the hotel and area. Breakfast was especially yummy!

In theory this should have been a wonderful stay but in reality it certainly wasn’t. What you’d think would have been a fabulous location (because it was close to the beach/lake, botanical gardens, gondola, eateries, bars, shops etc, etc - sounds great right?!) actually turned out to be a bad choice of location. The Spire is located in a quaint little lane way that you’d expect would be quiet BUT, be warned…..The Club (adult entertainment and strip club is located opposite the front door of the hotel) so you get nothing but noise from party goers and thumping music until at least 2:30/3:00 am. The staff were nice, the rooms were good and the turn down service was very good but if you can’t get any sleep then what’s the point of saying you’re ‘on holidays’??? In another location this boutique hotel could have been fantastic but they charge an arm and a leg considering the noise (apparently The Club isn’t open on Monday nights so maybe stay at The Spire then). It’s an ideal place for young people to stay if they want a holiday that involves night clubbing and partying but it certainly wasn’t suitable for us (in our 60’s). No parking is available either so on top of what we already had to pay, we also had a $40 per day parking/valet charge. Sorry The Spire, but did what you charge, we expected to be able to sleep but found all 3 nights pretty bad with Wednesday night being atrocious - would hate to be there on the weekend when things really ramped up.

Maybe the nicest hotel I've ever stayed in. Our suite was very large and extremely comfortable with fireplace, walk-in closets, and huge opulently appointed bath. The view was very fine, breakfast was superb, the location was excellent. Most of all, the staff were unfailingly attentive, responsive, and helpful, going well out of their way to make our visit to Queenstown as delightful as possible. Strongly recommended, without hesitation.

We had a fabulous 3 night stay at The Spire. Every luxury had been taken to ensure our stay was comfortable. The Spire includes a variety of extras to make your stay more luxurious - free mini bar, pre drinks and snacks daily, the use of Queenstown gym, a fantastic daily breakfast, turn down service, daily housekeeping - the list goes on. The staff went above and beyond to ensure every single need of ours was met. They were extremely friendly, making you feel like a friend. The room was extremely spacious, private and had a balcony that overlooked a local park. We will stay here again and highly recommend this hotel.
