Asian Food Hall The Spot Is Opening This Weekend - Eater DC

"Asian-inspired food hall The Spot is ready to start serving Taiwanese bubble teas and poke to Rockville diners this weekend. The new spot (255 N Washington Street, Rockville, Md.) is projected to open at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 7 with five of its seven food stalls serving out of the gate. There’s Gong Cha (bubble tea); Poki DC (poke bowls); Cheers Cut (fried chicken and seafood); Mian (hand-pulled Mandarin noodles and freshly made dumplings); and Alpaca Dessert (a dessert bar with Thai ice creams and bubble waffles — a street food craze in Hong Kong). Two more stalls are coming soon: The Spot Bar, serving classic cocktails and Asian-infused drinks with live music, and The Spot Grill with Asian barbecue on skewers and other finger foods. The Spot will feature 150 seats inside with 50 seats in the outdoor bar area, staying open daily until midnight. To celebrate its first arrivals, the all-day eatery will run a 25-percent discount through Sunday, July 8. Karaoke experience the two times I went was horrible. Because the DJ or owners know the regulars, new Patrons don't get a chance to participate. So many songs in the cue that you never get a chance to participate. I've been to many Karaoke Bars and this is the worse that I've seen. How do you want people to patronize your location with new Patrons?

Went there for drinks with friends before Karaoke and I honestly had to be told we were going to be late bc the drinks were so good and the bartender Soraya was so nice! I got a Tokyo Tea and it was delicious and my friends drinks had fancy ice cubes that looked like a rose (they also really enjoyed the drinks they got). 10/10 very friendly, great drinks and atmosphere!

I like the drinks and atmosphere but they are rarely open at 5pm. I went on a Friday at 6pm and it was dark!

Great neighborhood bar! The bartenders make some strong drinks and the owner Mike really knows his whiskey. Everybody has always been very friendly and welcoming whenever I'm there. Plus, they're one of the few bars in the area that sells soju. If you're in the town center, you should def stop by and check it out

This place makes the best drinks. The Lychee martini is especially unreal. Plus the bartenders are tons of fun and go out of their way to make sure the customers have a great experience. This is one of my go too places for both happy hour and late night drinks. Bonus that the whiskey offerings are extensive!

Came by here just to have a quick drink after my shift and was pleasantly surprised to have enjoyed myself so much. The bartender who served made me a tasty Malibu Pineapple and I drank it so fast I needed water, which they had ready on hand for me. Check this place out I will definitely be back to check out the DJ on Friday.

I love the spot bar. It's been my favorite bar to go to. The lychee Martini is my favorite drink there. The Bartenders are so nice and sweet 🥺🖤 I've never had a better experience at any bar besides the spot I will be coming more and more there for the drinks and the amazing energy and vibes from the Bartenders 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🥂

Our go to bar with friendly bartenders and great selection/variety of cocktails and spirits (esp. whiskeys). Prices are very reasonable and the happy hour has the best deals around.

Cocktails are pretty good, bartender was friendly. One star off because the atmosphere/lighting was so dark? Granted it was a few days before Christmas but still was a Saturday!

Utterly fantastic customer service! The bartenders felt like long-lost friends! This was my first time trying alcohol, and I couldn't have chosen a better place than here! I ordered a Lychee Mojito, which had a lovely touch of sweetness. I didn't realize that alcohol was bitter, so, to someone who really abhors the taste of bitter, this still wasn't my cup of tea. Catherine, the female bartender, took our order. Brandon, the male bartender, definitely deserves a raise! When we asked for another cup to split the drink, he split the drink for us and added two more lychees! When he saw that I wasn't fond of the bitterness of it, he also tried making me several sweeter drinks to cut out the bitterness. I love how he went above and beyond his job duties to make his customers happy! And, I was beyond happy to see him so enthusiastically taking up a challenge!

Big turn around from before (I've lived here for 2 years). Service is great at the bar between my experiences of Soraya and Mars. Appreciate the care and effort put into the marketing and social events here now. Super nice to see all the dancing events when I'm walking by into my apartment & the invites to the events. I've even noticed more of my neighbors popping by and stopped in to say hello a few times.

Was hoping for a nice Friday evening happy hour experience... arrived... lovely ambience... bartender didn't seem too interested in service - was more about chatting with friends and texting... bartender gave us menus... we ordered... they didn't have most of the specials.... we shifted to other items... bartender gave us the bill - and it was much higher cost than what we ordered on menu... bartender explanation: "We are in the process of updating our menu and pricing. So I need to charge you for the new menu and new pricing even though I gave you the old menu and old pricing." Uhm - "no thank you." We were begrudgingly granted a refund for this difference.

Cool bar next to the Spot's food court. I got the lychee martini and was pleasantly surprised! It was a refreshing fruity drink that did it's job. Will come back for HH or after grubbing again.

The spot bar is by favorite my favorite spot to get a drink. I absolutely adore the lychee Martini and the yogurt soju with lychee. I try to come every weekend since the bar opens when I go to class and closes before I'm out I love the staff I made some really nice friends there and I always love to tip them well since they make my drinks perfectly and they are just so so sweet. I look forward to my next visit
