Idle hands, New Tropical Bar, Is Now Open In The Montrose | Eater Houston

"Celebrating its grand opening on November 11, the new 4,000-square-foot Spot EaDo is a spinoff of Third Ward staple The Spot Lounge and Bar and sits at 2003 Emancipation Avenue, roughly two miles north of the original Spot. The new location features an outdoor patio and a packed event calendar with DJ nights, theme nights, and frequent happy hour events." - Adele Chapin

Since the Old Spot closed the newer Eado is PACKED. Eado used to be a slightly older, more mature crowd but has since been taken over by YN's. It was packed, shoulder to shoulder, no room to dance or even stand. The line to the bar was 3 rows of people deep and took 15+minutes. The bar was severely understaffed and slow. I went on a saturday night and only stayed long enough to have a single drink because it was uncomfortably crowded. The group of people that met me there gave up on waiting for the bar and walked out immediately.

We still talking about the food days later.. so damn good.

Drinks were overpriced and watered down. Bar staff isn't hospitable at all! I was very disappointed considering how much my friend and I spent at the bar excluding the hookah! However, the DJ was great!

Nice spot. First visit. We were there on a Saturday 4-6. Not too crowded at that time. Nice vibe. It was picking up when we were leaving. Hookah $40. Staff that we encountered were all pleasant and helpful.

Love this place never had a problem wish it was more seating and don't want to wait so long for drinks but overall I do love the place. Blessings to you all.

I just hosted my wife’s surprise birthday party in the VIP of this place, and it was perfect! Show up to book in person. All of the details will be laid out during the booking and an invoice recapping the details will be sent to you. My point of contact was Alex. Her attentiveness and communication was extremely professional. She made sure all of my needs were met for the party to go off without a hitch. The DJ was awesome, the bottle service was on point, hookahs were available, and the atmosphere was perfect even including an outside patio and food truck. She also made sure that lighting and entrance music for the birthday surprise was tailored to our party. We really felt catered to in an upscale way, and this review doesn’t do the experience justice. If you want to have a fantastic and memorable time, this place is a hidden gem. 5 star experience!!!

Yelp
It's okay. Cool lil spot. Regulars feel for sure, but not bad and there are other spots near by.

Yelp
I believe a small inviting bar should have a warm atmosphere. The bartender had a dry demeanor and the lemon drop was certainly not a lemon drop. I will not be returning.

Yelp
A whole vibe. Truly enjoyed coming here on a Friday night. We truly enjoyed ourselves. From 10pm past the place was pack, hookah was lit and wouldn't want it any other way! When in Houston on a Friday night this will be my place of choice!!

Yelp
The potential is there. The one thing holding this place back are the DJs. They can't read the room. The crowd is usually 35+, but yet they continue to play music that isn't in that demographic. If the DJs actually played music from the era that the majority of the customers came up on, this place would dominate the scene for that age bracket. I didn't grow up on NBA Youngboy, Big Walk Dog etc. Stop playing that kinda stuff when you see a room full of adults in their early to mid 40s! GET SOME BETTER DJ's PLEASE. Trust me, y'all are losing a lot of customers over this.

Yelp
My favorite place to go get a drink at in Houston! Very spacious for big parties, great drinks, and the best djs in town

Yelp
Heavy pours and good vibes. Hookah availability and they now have covered outdoor seating. No food menu but there's almost always a food truck on the property.

Yelp
We love it here! Definitely recommend to anyone visiting Houston. The vibe, music, and crowd. It's not too young & not too old. It's for the sexy & sophisticated. No need to dress up but keep it cute! Yes, they have hookahs and bomb food when the truck is outside.
