Staff is friendly and helpful, food is incredible, and the Bloody Mary is perfection. Love the patio seating and walk up window. We'll definitely be coming back here! Update: Just as good on our second visit, AND we found out just how good their Mimosa is. Very! 😍

Google
Solid place for brunch, and good bloodies! Had the avocado toast with bacon, nomnoms. A bit loud at peak brunch time, and would prefer a plate that was heavy enough to cut my bread on (the cutting boards look cool, but I was constantly paranoid of it slipping and knocking all my drinks off the table), but these are minor things. If you came here a year ago and had a lack luster experience, I recommend giving it another try! Servers had the right amount of friendliness and sarcasm.

Google
Fantastic place. This location barely has parking, but there's plenty on the street. They have cute small tables, strong tasty drinks, and the food is simply delicious.

Google
Amazing food, got the avocado toast and a bloody Mary. The vibe is very chill, they have a lounge and music but we went for breakfast. The service was great. It's cozy, but I love that. Lots of outdoor seating though. Parking is a bit tricky, but nectar of the times we were able to parallel across the street.

Stopped by brunch on a busy Sunday morning but we were seated in a very short time. We ordered the cappucino and the avalon (hot cocktail) and we were disappointed with both these drinks. The coffee did not taste good at all neither did the avalon. It had a powdery substance that just ruined everything for me. We then ordered the avocado toast, berry bliss, the mean green (minus bacon), fancy grilled cheese and hobo joes breakfast skillet. We liked the berry bliss and mean green but the rest of the dishes were okay or below mediocre. The fried egg was over fried, rubbery and literally looked like a microwaveable egg. The toast was not even grilled. Servers were nice but the food was mediocre to say the least and it is higher on the price for the quality too. Honestly I am not sure what the hype about this place is but I was very disappointed with our visit this AM.

Google
We were pleasantly surprised by the hip, unique vibe. The food was so flavorful and FRESH! I had avocado toast *see picture. My friend had opened faced BLT!! Unassuming, delicious find!

Google
Visiting here from Ft Worth, Texas to find comfort in food and relief in the weather! I found both here @ The Spot. Sitting outside on the patio was a nice option...and change, for me anyway. Loved the vibe of this place, and enjoyed the energy of our server even more! He really seeemed to sincerely enjoy serving my son and I his scrumptious creations. We enquired about the back room inside with the very cool decor...and guitars! Come to find out, blues are played here every Thursday, and open mike every Saturday displaying some local talent. Back to the food...wow, again, he sincerely enjoyed serving us. We had "the mean green" and the special of the day...French toast with fruit. The color and flavors of both dishes were wonderful! Looking forward to our next meal, and those blues on Thursday...

Google
Such a great crew here who are warm and friendly. Absolutely delicious food. Had a cool convo with the owner while waiting for my takeout. If I lived closer, this would be a regular place for me! The lox of love is my favorite!

Yelp
The waffles were really good! The London Fog I had was also very tasty and well made. I'd definitely come back. They seemed to be recovering from a huge party when we arrived so some things took longer than I suspect they normally would but they were very communicative and apologetic and tried to check in with us and keep us happy while waiting. The patio is very dog friendly and had tons of pups! We were able to put both our pups under the picnic table to hang out. It was a very neighborly environment and all the staff and some of the patrons seemed to get along really well. It was a chill spot for brunch on a weekend!

Yelp
This is a quaint little place in West Seattle. The server who helped is super friendly. She was attentive and very helpful. This is a small business and if you are in a hurry it does take a while. Although once you get your drinks and food they are delicious. The chai was fantastic, waffles were yummy and loved the cool environment. They serve lunch and dinner and have an espresso bar and alcohol. Options look yummy too. Enjoy.

Yelp
We wanted to come here based on good reviews, but we left the place feeling pretty average with slight disappointment. We arrived around 8:05am when google reported that they open at 8. Someone inside said they were running behind because "someone needed to open the restaurant". In this time period, about 4-5 other parties came by and ended up dining at the restaurant next door. We waited it out since we specifically came for waffles and eventually got in closer to 8:30am. The berry bliss waffle was really good! We also ordered the hobo skillet. I felt like the hobo skillet was really small given the price. My family ordered a plain waffle and by itself, it kinda looked like you could make it at home. The ambiance is very local and has a dive vibe to it, which we liked. The service was a little slow since only one person was managing the host and serving. We didn't really get checked up on and it took a while for our check to come. Being from Seattle, there are better places with a bang for your buck.

Yelp
We went back for breakfast again today Got everything different except for my toddler's meal (plain Jane) & the avocado toast for us to share. Everything was even better than yesterday!! We ordered everything as is except I added jalapeños to my classic waffle. Soooooo good. Also--it was in the 50s, and I was very against sitting outside, but we sat by the fire and it felt great. They were super busy but killed it!
google avatar

Yelp
Waffle was good but cold (berry bliss). Tons of toppings and definitely a waffle you eat when you want something sweet. The bruiser wasn't bad, hot waffle, bacon was deep fried. Owner is super friendly and personable.

Yelp
The Spot just off of the West Seattle bridge on Avalon, is just that, a tiny spot if a place with indoor bar stool seated tables on the inside & picnic table with a large center heating lamp. We walked in close to 1 PM on a Sunday with 5 hungry teenage girls after an early morning group photo shoot so we were all pretty hungry. The nice waitress greeted us & was hoping our party of 7 would sit outside at the picnic tables but we were too cold & asked if we could just split up into a 5 top of girls & the 2 of us moms. It was much more cozy inside & the 2 of us moms also got to sit right next to the fireplace, i think it was a gas fireplace so it was very comfortable, not too hot. For such a tiny place , I'd say it's less than 1000 square feet with the bar/kitchen & seating area, they have a pretty good assorted menu. Lots of good brunch items using waffles in sweet & savory ways. My daughter got a Berry Bliss waffle topped with Nuetella, fresh strawberries, blueberries, whipped cream & a chocolate drizzle. I ordered Lox of Love which was a sandwich served on toasted Sourdough which is my favorite...I'm glad it was not served on a bagel! All the accompaniments of lox, even down to the capers...it was piled pretty high inside too. I actually split my dish with the other mom, she got the Skinny Savage which is a deconstructed omelet with sautéed spinach, mushrooms, a sausage patty, 2 eggs served your choice, some sliced tomatoes & grilled jalapeños, served with your choice of toast. Not a very exciting dish but I do appreciate they had a lighter dish & something as close to gluten free on their menu as possible. Overall a cozy, cute place great for those living in the neighborhood.

Yelp
Phil's exceptional service elevated our dining experience to new heights. His attentiveness, and genuine warmth made our meal at The Spot unforgettable. Thank you for your dedication to excellence. Thank you Phil

Yelp
This spot looks and sounds really cool but we were not able to try it out as we came at 12:30 for brunch and they were not open and no one was around. We ended up eating at Lunas next door.
google avatar

Alexandra S.

Yelp
This place has cool vibes. Unfortunately, the menus and table that we sat at were super dirty. There were ants crawling all over the table and the menu that was handed to me had gunk all over it. The flatbread was pretty decent though so I will give them that.

Yelp
This is an odd restaurant. We stopped for breakfast on a cold January morning after a walk at Alki. The hostess was very friendly and both she and the cook were bundled up in jackets and scarves. The door to the place doesn't close properly and there is a 1/2" gap around the door letting whatever heat is in there out. It was COLD inside. The food was fine- we both had waffles that were put on cold plates so they had no warmth by the time they got to the table. I had the Berry Bliss which tasted fine- just cold. My wife ordered a waffle that had cheese, egg, jalapeño and avocado. It arrived without the avocado. We asked about it and the hostess said yes it was supposed to have it- it never arrived. The waffles were thin - like they were made on an iron that you would use at home-not big, thick ones like you would expect at a restaurant. Also when the jalapeños were being cooked, they opened the door AND the big "garage" door to vent the restaurant. (Never experienced that before!) the tables are too skinny to put the plates on them across from each other- they have to be offset. The staff were pleasant but I think that they really need to re-think how to run a restaurant. We won't be back.

Yelp
Overall the food was great fast and friendly service mad our breakfast yesterday great. Definitely will be returning with more people.

Yelp
Food was great! Really fresh, yummy breakfast sandwiches! FYI ** They are NOT open at 8! We ordered through yelp and then they weren't open. Yelp ended up canceling and we had to re order through the restaurant. Worth the wait though

Yelp
This is a little hole in the wall, but absolutely so fun and surprising chef made delicious food! It is a pretty small place but it has several little tables and a DJ right in front with dancing and fun! The drinks are outstanding, and the menu is very different! Loved the food and ambience. It is a must go to if you're in the area. The service was very good as well. I just wish that it was a little bigger or the tables were a little bigger. They are very small but it's worth it.
google avatar

Yelp
Great French toast. Simply delightful when paired with fruity mimosa. Great vibe. Great service. Will return!
google avatar

Emily L.

Yelp
The food service and place was great. Just a small joint that has a good cook, they use real sourdough which is a difference compared to other places. Mimosa was pretty large. Love jt

Yelp
The Spot is a cute little place. The sign still says "The Shack", so don't get confused by that. It is located across the parking lot from Luna Park Cafe. There are a few spots in the lot or you can usually find nearby street parking. My husband and I came here on a Sunday for brunch. I ordered the Banana Split: waffle with fresh bananas, whipped cream, candied walnuts, and chocolate drizzle. I'm not sure what kind of waffle this was. It was really thin with small squares. I thought my food was ok but a little expensive. The lady who took our order was nice and she brought our food to our table. The food came out fairly quickly. You can eat at one of the small tables on their outdoor patio, but they do not allow indoor dining again yet.

Yelp
This is not my first time here. This place it's even better. The food and the people are great. We ordered three different plates, The Hobo, Mean Green and the White Trash Assassin, we weren't disappointed. This was my son's first time here and after his first bite of the assassin his comment was "no wonder you wanted me to come here and try this place" Come here and take a bite out of your assassin. Come for the coffee as well, I really liked it Don't get me wrong, the food is sinful, but the place, the miss match of tables, the alfresco element of the establishment makes this place a destination, it's located at the western end of the West Seattle Bridge, so it's perfect for your beginning or end of your daily journey. Now, something that doesn't happen very often, but it's a very small but so important detail, when the owner engages with you at a personal level, when after providing with a great set of flavors on your plates, he finds the moment to thank you because you brought your family with you. Eating becomes a social event, a community moment. I have been hesitant to call this place your quintessential Seattle hole in the wall, but today I am happy to say that it is!!! That is service with no equal.

Johnny M.

Yelp
Best breakfast in town. I went there with the rest of my family, and each one of them was simply speechless. Throughout all of my years, I've never had a waffle so thin, so butter, so delicious that I ordered 4 more on the spot.
google avatar

Denise S.

Yelp
I was sad to drive by The Spot yesterday and see the line down the street- my secret little breakfast/cocktail place is not a secret any more! ;) On that note I should mention that they are in compliance with the most recent COVID protocols in place and enforce mask wearing and social distancing. There is signage posted consistently around the patio and inside as well! The food and cocktails here are great- from the bloodies to the mims, I haven't had anything that I didn't like. Staff is super friendly, outdoor seating is rocking especially with their rad new fire pit, and the waffles are divine. Last time I was there I had the ham and cream cheese croissant good lord I was not expecting it to be that good I almost had to get a second one! Next up need to try some of the darker cocktails and more lunch/dinner style food since I am usually only there in the mornings. Highly recommend the spicy bloody mary! All the stars, love this place.
google avatar

Barbara S.

Yelp
Met my daughter here for brunch on a weekday morning. It was raining and a little chilly and we were the only people there. It was perfect! Seating is outdoors. Tarps are above the seating for rain protection. The Spot has a full service bar, and we started with their Bloody Mary's. Absolutely delicious! All orders are taken at the counter and the menu is taped to it. All COVID protocols are in place here. Masks are required as a customer and are worn by staff along with gloves. They are all friendly and really busy with their take-out service. There are lots of options on the menu, which is surprising because this place is really small. I ordered the waffle with maple butter and bacon. It was really good. My daughter ordered the chili cheese waffle and said it was amazing! As a finisher, we ordered their special mimosas and they were large and good! We will definitely eat here again. Our only caveat is that the parking lot is small and shared with Luna Cafe, so very few stalls available.

Stuart D.

Yelp
i consider myself a burger aficionad. and hy smokes this was absolutely an amazing smash burger! super friendly and attentive staff. very chill venue. will be back for sure. and they do live music? what? 6/5

Yelp
Cool little restaurant and bar. Neat atmosphere, they were very welcoming of my GF, her daughter, & I. Food was very delicious. Service was polite and reasonable time.
google avatar

Claudia E.

Yelp
What a special spot! Great food and service! The patio is very cute too! We had the Chocoholic, The Bruiser and the Fancy Grilled cheese. Everyone was super happy. Delicious! Highly recommend this place!
google avatar

Meagan A.

Yelp
I'm confused why this place is so highly reviewed. The service was almost non-existent. The server barely spoke to us. I was bummed to hear another server tell her table about the special that wasn't on the regular menu. We did not get that same service. The place is grimy which we didn't really see until we went to pay inside (we sat outside). Our water glasses were dirty (there was stuff floating in one of the cups). My coffee mug also had dried stains on the outside too. My to-go box also had an ant crawling around in it? I can usually do divey places, but this was pretty gross. Also, the food was just alright. Not worth it overall. I don't think I'll be back and I don't think I'd feel right recommending it to any of my friends.
google avatar

Rachel R.

Yelp
Such a hidden little gem! Amazing service, food was incredible and I love finding little places that feel like home. Sean was so kind and welcoming!!

Hamed A.

Yelp
What a unique and quirky little spot. Swung by to grab some breakfast to go and got the pleasure of meeting Phil, the owner. It's wonderful to see how very passionate he is about his business, reputation, and the aesthetics of his spot.
google avatar

Caitlin H.

Yelp
I've never had waffles like the ones in the Bruiser. They were crispy, crunchy, golden, and delicious. They went great with the salty flavors of the bacon and Canadian bacon. I don't think the cheddar cheese added anything. I'll probably skip it if I get the sandwich again.
google avatar

Kim S.

Yelp
Stumbled into this place based on good reviews, and looking for some "to-go" food for an ailing relative. Rainy, weekday, noon..While we waited for those orders, we decided to have a snack, so ordered a bfast Sammy and blat. For 6$, the Sammy is the best deal going. But a hungry person might need more than one!! The blat was the best version I have ever tried. Fresh, hot, perfecto. Will come back to try the WAFFLES!!!!! Great job!

Ashley T.

Yelp
Came from California and decided to stop here. Absolutely amazing!!! Its a nice cozy place with a great ambiance. Food was delicious, I got the classic waffle has sausage and cheddar cheese while my friend got hobo joes breakfast skillet. Phillip, the owner, waited on us, he was so nice and right on it with everything we needed. Definitely a must visit place!
google avatar

Ben S.

Yelp
Their hours are a bit sporadic but when they're open (and serving good) they are consistently good.
google avatar

Ramil I.

Yelp
Great "SPOT" came here for breakfast with no expectations and had nothing but great things! Had more than 1 Phil's Bloody Mary off the hook! You like bloody Mary, you'll love Phil's! Had lobster Benedict and lots of lobster, super tasty! The French toast with fresh strawberries and blueberries washeavenly good! Even the coffee was something to write home about. The music was eclectic and brought me back in the days, high school and college, great memories! Perfect amount of delicious food and tasty drinks. Definitely will be back, and I suggest you check out Phil and his Spot,
google avatar

Riddhi M.

Yelp
What a disappointment this place was! The food: bad, coffee: bad. The only upside was the service which was prompt and helpful. I got the fancy grilled cheese and it was not good, you'd expect the bread to be well toasted at least in a grilled cheese. The fried egg on the avocado toast (again not toasted) my friend ordered was like plastic, with the yolk so hard it was difficult to cut through.
google avatar

Grace H.

Yelp
So good. Love the dive bar/ hole in the wall feel. I got the Mean Green and it was perfect. The waffles are fantastic and the sabbatical mimosa was greatness. Highly recommend
google avatar

Kate C.

Yelp
Mimosas and service were fantastic! Prices were high for what you get, but understandable after Covid. Sidenote: I did find it weird that they won't do scrambled eggs. I ordered the eggs, bacon and toast and was told they don't make scrambled eggs...
google avatar

Sant A.

Yelp
good drinks and good ambiance, food was great. and the nicest service possible. Would recommend

Yelp
Oh my, so glad to have found this little gem in west Seattle. Portions are huge. Waffles are delicious with pretty presentation. Staff are friendly and Diane is quaint.

Elizabeth B.

Yelp
I really wanted to like The Spot, but our experience was one of the worst we have had in Seattle. They advertise waffles all day, and we got there at 4:30 and they said they stop serving them at 2pm. So we selected a burger and a few other things instead, and they had no burger patties or Mac n cheese. We finally opted for the pretzels, flatbread pizza, juice and beer. The juice and beer were more than warm, the pizza was cold, watery, with barely melted cheese, and the "Bavarian pretzels" were greenish in tint, hard, and definitely bought in the freezer aisle of the grocery store. The whole experience was so bad it was laughable.
google avatar

Robert J.

Yelp
Rude ass staff. Closed an hour earlier than advertised and they were rude about noting that they closed an hour earlier than normal. I can't imagine what the food or service would've been like.
google avatar

Oksana P.

Yelp
Pretty amazing - service was great. Drinks where spot on & the food was outstanding! I would recommend if you're in the area. We happen to just pop in due to lack of places to eat In the area.

Vikram K.

Yelp
Amazing waffles! Loved their savory waffle with egg and jalapeños. Parking is very tricky, so if you can have someone dropoff and pickup (i know :)), thats the onlh guaranteed way.
google avatar

Melanie H.

Yelp
So I live close by and was excited to walk to The Spot! A waffle and coffee just sounded really great for breakfast this morning! Here's what we ordered: -Hot-to-Trot waffle -Yogurt & Granola -Iced caramel macchiato with hemp milk -iced mocha with hemp milk The Hot-to-Trot waffle was bomb. They melt cheese right in the middle of the waffle and top it off with what looks like some grilled or roasted jalapeños, bacon, and avocado. It comes with a side of syrup and honestly it tasted bomb with and without the syrup. The waffle itself is sweet, so with no syrup you have a more balanced savory and sweet combo. I sort of folded the waffle up and ate the whole thing like a giant waffle taco. The yogurt and granola is delicious in its simplicity. It's honey greek yogurt with granola and it was pretty refreshing. Then we got our drinks! Overall I loved them both because they were creamy and not overly sweet. The espresso isn't super strong, which I prefer, but I would definitely ask for an extra shot of coffee or two if you like it stronger. And best of all, it's affordable. Waffles range from $6.50-$11 depending on which one you order and the yogurt cup was only $3.75. It's also in a nice spot for a quick break during a walk or bike ride, and it's simple. I like that it's casual and can be taken to to or eaten really quick outside without the pressure of a full dine-in experience.

Olma N.

Yelp
We drove there for 40 minutes to try their waffles. Says they open until 9 today. But when we arrived at 5 there was a sign "see you tomorrow". Thank you it was very tasty

Melissa K.

Yelp
Their website says they close at 2. We came at 1:40 and they said they were closed. We went next door to Luna's and had a great breakfast.
google avatar

Samuel C.

Yelp
We ordered The Mean Green and The Bruiser, both were delicious! Mean green was my favorite. A homemade waffle topped with spinach, mushrooms, tomatoes, bacon, cheddar cheese (normally Barrata), and what ties this all together is the syrup they give you! Just put it on everything and enjoy!
google avatar

Yelp
JUST WOW. It's very true that little hole in the wall restaurants are the best places to go. This was our second time here. The food and atmosphere is great. First time, we got the plain Jane waffle, a simple breakfast sandwich on an English muffin and a savory jalapeño waffle...They were delicious. Second time, we got a lox of love on a croissant and the BLAT sandwich. Not a single thing was mediocre. Sam was the best waitress and waited on us both times and made us feel at home. Lastly, the caramel macchiato was better than Starbucks by far. Too bad we don't have one in Florida. 100/10 recommend this place. -Shane, Pam & Jamie.

Joey M.

Yelp
Excellent Smash burgers, sweet and savory waffles I love this place. Cocktails, live music , cozy seating.

Lena S.

Yelp
Absolutely flabbergasted at what was served and the prices attached to the meal. Grilled cheese was soggy, kid who lives for grilled cheese took 2 bites and couldn't go any further. 2 waffles with avacado - never seen a thinner waffle, flavorless & served cold with one slice of mushy avocado that was half black. Made me wonder if anyone was looking at the food while carrying it out. Coffee warm and bitter. 45$ for 2 people and then we we went elsewhere for brunch #2.
google avatar

Zachary J.

Yelp
They have a nice selection of beer and cocktails and a fun little outdoor seating area - good coffee as well. We weren't a huge fan of the waffles but we enjoyed the salmon locks platter with cheeses and olives. Good local spot that'll no doubt be more enjoyable when there is better weather and less COVID restrictions.
