This area has a lot of stores/restaurants and is set up to reflect a "hometown" atmosphere with sidewalk and patio areas, quaint storefronts and street parking. Well, they kind of did that... It's always crowded! The streets are super narrow and those stores that have parking lots are small, making navigating around the streets difficult. (There is usually a line to get into Trader Joe's parking lot, causing gridlock on the street with no way to scoot past waiting cars).
There is a nice park at one end of the center where you can run your dog or quietly sit and have a coffee etc. There are the usual higher end, unique restaurants/shops that cater to that Carlsbad upper crust.
I feel the planners had a great vision when it comes to this center, I just don't think that planned for the amount of people it would attract.
