Southwest-inspired dishes, plus cocktails & brews in a large, laid-back environment.
"The Square Pub closes on Saturday, March 7, after nearly a decade on Decatur Square, Decaturish first reported Monday. Owner Bob Rhein posted the closure news to the Square Pub’s Facebook page Wednesday morning, officially confirming the restaurant and bar closes after service this Saturday night. 'We would like to come together one last time in celebration of all that we’ve found, gained, and accomplished together. Please join us Saturday night for one last round,' the Facebook post states. 'We’re excited to spend one last day with all of you and we ask that we all take the time to really enjoy it!' No explanation was given in the post as to why the Square Pub is closing, and it’s unclear if ongoing parking woes and rising rents in City of Decatur were factors in Rhein’s decision to close the pub. The Square Pub is billed as a 'laid back' neighborhood spot for live music, craft beer, cocktails, and Southwestern-inspired food, like chicharrones nachos topped with barbecue pork and hatch green chile enchiladas. Eater Atlanta reached out for further details on the reason for the Square Pub’s closure." - Beth McKibben
