We just spent a weekend here and left extremely disappointed — especially given the cost. Between the hotel stay (~$1500 for two nights) and what we spent on-site at the restaurant, pool, and bar (another $1000), this “weekend getaway” totaled about $2500. For that amount, we expected so much more from the hotel experience.
The Good:
-Rooms were clean, albeit small for 4 girls to share
-Great location — walkable and close to the beach
-Restaurant and bar staff were fantastic — friendly, attentive, and welcoming
The Bad:
-The hotel staff were not. We were rarely greeted in the lobby and constantly asked if we were even guests, despite always being together as a group of four. It felt unwelcoming and dismissive the entire time.
-Our hotel room door was a major annoyance- we had to slam and jiggle it multiple times just to get it to latch and lock — unacceptable for this price point.
-The pool was a huge letdown. It closes at 5pm, so you barely get to enjoy it, and even as paying hotel guests, we weren’t guaranteed spots (daybeds). For $2500 spent on property, we should have had priority access.
-On our first night, we received a noise complaint at 11pm for simply laughing while putting on PJs and picking a movie — nothing wild or disruptive. Yet later that same night we were woken multiple times by what sounded like furniture moving and things dropping above us at 1:30am and 3am. No complaints seemed to be issued for that, likely because the receptionist leaves at midnight. It felt personal. The next morning, we were woken by people shouting in the hallway. Clearly the walls are thin and noise travels. Instead of singling out guests, why not send an all-building communication asking everyone to keep it down? Again, for the price, you’d expect better sound insulation and more fair treatment.
-On top of everything, there were no gestures of appreciation for the amount of money we spent. No room credit, no complimentary drink at the bar, nothing. At this level, you expect at least something that acknowledges your loyalty as a guest.
Bottom line: The restaurant and bar staff understand hospitality, but the hotel staff do not. Between the unfriendly treatment, poor soundproofing, early pool closures, and lack of value for the money, this was simply not worth it. There are plenty of other hotels in the area at a similar price point that offer bigger rooms, better beach access, and staff who actually make you feel welcome. Save your money and stay elsewhere.
