The Best Hotel Pools in Houston | Eater Houston

"This Galleria-area hotel pool and its wide deck area are the perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. The drink menu keeps it simple, with wines, classic bloody marys, buckets of High Noon seltzers, and beer, which pair well with delicious bar food like burgers and wings, and lighter options like its tropical fruit plate and caesar salads." - Brittany Britto Garley

"First opened as the Remington Hotel in the Post Oak business park in 1982, this 12-floor Galleria-area property became the St. Regis in 2000. And it’s everything you’d expect from the St. Regis—“a place where exception is the rule”—with a side of Southern hospitality. The reception desk and concierge are available any time of day or night, as is the hotel’s longstanding signature butler service. From the lush landscaping in the circular driveway to plush leather furniture, spectacular chandeliers, and gleaming marble floors throughout the hotel, it feels rich and regal. Guest rooms are equally fit for royalty with floor‐to‐ceiling windows, LG flat‐screen HD televisions, DVD players, audio sound and entertainment systems—and generous, Texas-size real estate. Everything is bigger at the St. Regis, which is known for having some of the largest hotel rooms (at least 500 square feet) in the city."

The St. Regis Houston

"What's the big picture?Located in between the prestigious River Oaks neighborhood and The Galleria, this luxurious hotel looks a bit like a glamorous high-rise condominium. Survey the crowd—what's it like?Fashionable but friendly. Give us the details on the rooms. We stayed in a junior suite, which had a separate sleeping area and floor-to-ceiling windows with views of the pool and River Oaks. The king-size bed had a pillow top, and the bathroom was outfitted in granite and marble—another reminder that no, this isn't your typical Houston hotel. The comfy, ergonomically designed leather desk chair was perfect for catching up on work. Any other details we should know? With room rates like these, you'd think—or hope—that wifi would be free. It's not; rather, it costs $14.95 for basic service and $17.95 for "enhanced" service. Staff: If you could award one a trophy, who gets it, and why?The butler—a signature St. Regis offering. What other features are worth a mention?Afternoon Tea is a storied tradition at The St. Regis, no matter the location. There are a few options; the Distinctive Tea Service ($69), for instance, includes a selection of teas; amuse-bouches like aged gruyere, roasted peppers, and pecans; scones; and Veuve Clicquot. Who should be booking a stay here? Those with an affinity for fine hospitality will appreciate the St. Regis' dedication to meeting your every need with glamorous grace. While this isn't necessarily the most hip hotel, its old-school charm really fills our (tea) cup." - Diana Oates

Came with my wife and daughter for a couple nights. Service was excellent, as several of the other reviews mentioned. Requested a few basic things during the stay - blanket, water, microwave - and everything was brought up promptly, by friendly staff. My daughter loved swimming at the pools both days. Room was spacious, and had a few nice touches - variety of dimmable light fixtures, large desk, comfortable chairs. Really enjoyed our stay.

This did not feel like a "high end" hotel at all. They up charged for everything. You are forced to pay $65-$75 per day for parking. Parking is cheaper with the garage across the street. The hotel was dirty, the air intake filter looks like it wasn't changed in years, there was dust coming out of the air vents, the toilet paper is one play and very thin (just buy some soft toilet paper from costco...). The valet guy was hovering while we unloaded. They don't accept virtual credit cards or apple pay. I checked in on my phone before we got there and my wife had to wait in the lobby because she couldn't get the key cards even though we checked in already on the app and she had the confirmation email. Then they wouldn't let us take our luggage to our room so we felt obligated to tip the bellman. The breakfast was good but $26 for eggs and sausage is a little pricey. The pillows were so flat that I had to use 3 of them. The gym was freezing cold while it was a nice 70 degrees. Some of the rooms our wedding party stayed in didn't have hot water for the shower.

I'm so indebted to this hotel!!|We had a wonderful stay and enjoyed the location very much. ||I left my jewelry box in the safety deposit by accident. When I realized and called, The gentleman who answered was so helpful, told me they had been waiting for my call and sent it back to me as soon I described the details to him. Not a thing missing!!

I’ve stayed at so many Marriott’s and have been a lifeline Titanium for about 8 years. This stay was by far one of the best ever in every aspect. Staff was wonderful, and the level of attention to every detail is probably the best any guest could experience. Just doesn’t get any better than the St. Regis, Houston.

Absolute best,I loved every thing about my stay. It was excellent, great staff at the hotel and very professional.the front desk and valet were great and very responsive. The hotel ambiance is calm and relaxing. Everything was top notch. Thank you.

Google
Not a 5 star St. Regis, which I was very surprised. To start, the guy at the front kind of got shitty about the promotional rate which was kind of dumb. The place is run down, the rooms have old dirty carpeting. They tried for classy but it looks like a haunted funeral home. There's a large language barrier that also causes issues. The staff really isn't that great for a St. Regis property. This place is not worth the money. The hot water for the shower stays cold for a while, then warms up- those are old too. It's just not worth it for a run down place, with shiny customer service, language barriers, and it's ugly as hell. I found gum and the wrappers with dirty towels in my room once I checked in- was supposed to have 1 king bed but got 2 doubles/queens. There was gum and wrappers in the clothing areas upon my entry to the room. In addition, someone's stockings on the floor near the bed. The place is just dirty and needs a total remodel, it's very very overpriced for how filthy it is....... management is lacking and doesn't respond to emails. Calling the corporate offices and the local department of health to open an investigation that is much needed and overdue.

Google
The room was alright but kind of dated, with a dingy carpet. The lobby has this HORRID smell, like an oil drum of floral perfume that accidentally spilled somewhere. It didnt feel worth the price we paid. The staff was very good, though. They're trying their best with what they have. However, DO NOT eat at the restaurant. That place is WACK. It was the worst meal I've had out in a long time. They pre-make all the food and then warm it up when you order, making it all rubbery and dry at best. This is a super common practice in restaurants, but the art is covering that up. They have not mastered this art. Some of our food was STILL FROZEN. Literally frozen. We had to tell our server, and they were very apologetic and got us a replacement, but its still completely unacceptable. It should have been a warning sign to us that the place was empty on a Saturday at dinner time. There was only 1 other table taken. They hooked us up with a free dessert, which was nice of them, but I would have preferred a better meal. The vegetables were insanely salty, the steak had ZERO crust, the chicken was really dry, the mashed potatoes are dry and pasty, and the mac and cheese was flavorless and covered in rubbery, old reheated fried onion pieces. If they have so few customers, and the few they do serve are given a lame meal like this, they should probably close the restaurant. I would have saved about $120 and had a better meal at a freaking Cracker Barrel.

Google
The St. Regis Houston isn’t the newest or flashiest hotel in town. With its oak-paneled walls, equestrian artwork, and generous use of saddle leather, it feels old-school in a very Texas sort of way. If your priority is sleek, cutting-edge design and the latest in-room technology, this may not be the place for you.||||Where the hotel truly excels, however, is in its service. At many luxury properties, a handful of standout staff members elevate the experience. But at the St. Regis Houston, every employee embodies hospitality at its finest—whether it’s the bell staff, front desk associates, butlers, or restaurant servers, each interaction feels effortless yet thoughtful, never scripted or stuffy.||||As with many St. Regis properties in North America, the brand’s signature butler service is reserved for suite guests. However, unlike some sister hotels that shrunk the offering in the wake of Covid, these butlers provide the full range of services, from delivering complimentary coffee and tea on a silver tray to assisting with packing and unpacking, clothes pressing (two garments per day, gratis), and arranging transportation.||||Guests can also take advantage of the house car, which operates on a first-come, first-served basis in the late morning, afternoon, and evening. It offers complimentary round-trip service within a two-mile radius, covering destinations like The Galleria as well as numerous upscale restaurants, banks, and essential stops.||||Dining at the hotel is another strong point. Breakfast is available until 11 a.m. and arrived promptly via in-room dining, with both quality and presentation at the highest standard. 24-hour room service is available, and the hotel’s Remington lounge offers a dinner menu that, while not avant-garde, delivers solid and reasonably priced dishes for a luxury property. Don’t be fooled by the term “lounge”—the space is expansive and feels more like an elegant bistro than a typical hotel bar. Dessert, in particular, stands out as a real highlight and should not be missed.||||Before my stay, I read reviews mentioning wear and tear in the rooms. While I can’t speak for standard accommodations, my Astor Suite was well maintained, possibly reflecting the tendency for hotels to prioritize suite upkeep. While the rooms lean traditional in design, they've been gussied up with Illy espresso machines and late-model flat-screen TVs. Suites also have Bose surround-sound systems and jetted tubs, though I'm told the jacuzzi feature is currently down for maintenance.||||For those so inclined, a rooftop pool beckons, complete with a rock fountain and cabanas (on account of the light use, service is by QR code). There's also an adjacent spa, which operates by appointment only, and a small but well-maintained fitness center. Marble showers and lockers are available to poolgoers or those who would like to freshen up before their room is available.||||My only real notes are of the nit-picky variety: the phone in my suite's bedroom had scratchy reception and should probably be replaced. Turndown service wasn't as elaborate as is usual for hotels in this class. The hotel serves Prosecco at its daily sabrage rather than proper champagne. None of these seriously detracted from my stay.||||This isn't the most grandiose or bespoke luxury hotel I've encountered in my travels, but from the moment I arrived, I felt at ease, and that feeling remained until the moment I departed. That is the hallmark of a truly great hotel.||||The St. Regis Houston earns my highest recommendation.

Yelp
A bit dated when it comes to styles and finishes however one of the best services from a staff that I've ever received at a hotel. Loved this experience and very comfy bedding. Also room service was delicious and very timely.

Yelp
This rating is for afternoon tea at the St Regis. I recently attended a birthday celebration with 15 ladies for tea at the St Regis. It was delightful! The service, attention to detail, and ambiance (a live harpist was playing!) was really great, but most of all the food and company was fantastic! We enjoyed so many yummy little sandwiches and treats, along with a delicious cherry blossom tea and champagne service (to wish the birthday girl a happy birthday!). They accommodated the vegetarians in our group and even had a special package for my niece that included a small teddy bear gift. So many of us were unable to finish eating all our treats, so the staff very kindly brought little boxes and bags for us to take things home, and then added fresh macaroons for each guest as a parting gift. Truly a 5-star experience.

Janice A.

Yelp
We had such a lovely time at tea, just five friends, wonderful food, delicious tea, great service and beautiful music from the harpist!

Yelp
This review is specifically for the St Regis signature tea service - our family came on Mother's Day and had a great experience! They had a harpist playing in the background and the hotel itself had a very upscale ambiance. The finger sandwiches and pastries were all very good, and they even brought out some small sandwiches and OJ for our toddler. The tea was very good as well! 10/10 would come back again in the future

Yelp
First time staying at a St. Regis. the staff at the front desk is wonderful. The gym is really small. We had breakfast at Remington since we got a Marriott credit for breakfast and the food wasn't so great. The bar is nice to have drinks, though. There are just too many good restaurants nearby and in the Galleria area to eat at the restaurant at the hotel. They do have complimentary coffee and tea in the morning, which was a nice touch. There is also a complimentary car service that will take you within 2 miles of the hotel. We took that to the water wall by Galleria. The room itself was nice. I loved that they had a safe, coffee machine, robe, slippers, umbrella, comfortable bed, and the room we had had a nice view of the city skyline. The hotel was pretty quiet but you can hear the door slam a lot when people leave their rooms. It was nice to have stayed here but will probably check out the JW Marriott that is nearby next time. We stayed at JW Marriott in downtown Houston and the was a great hotel.

Yelp
We stayed here while in town for our friend's wedding and it was a good hotel overall. The service was excellent and our room was clean, but the bed was very hard and was not comfortable at all. Breakfast at the hotel was just okay (we would have expected better), but our friend's wedding reception was also at the hotel and the food was very good (steak, pasta, green beans, chicken cutlets, etc...), so it was a bit of a mixed bag from the kitchens at the hotel. It's not as nice as other St. Regis hotels, but it was a good place to stay for the wedding. 3.5/5 overall.

Yelp
I've been going to this hotel for many years now and the service and atmosphere is always A1! From the valet to the housekeeping everyone is always overly friendly and nice. Rooms are very spacious. Breakfast staff are the best! Only bad review I will stay is they need to upgrade and replace the pillows. I did have a hard time sleeping because the pillows were not comfortable so I was unable to get that hood St Regis hotel rest on my trip and my didn't either. But outside of that the hotel is great!

Rare R.

Yelp
In town for a girlfriend trip. We stayed for two days for the Dita Von Teese show. Check in was a breeze, we arrived late at night. The valet took a moment to come greet us. Due to the fact that I was an Amex platinum rewards member I expected a room upgrade but it wasn't possible due to the double bed we needed. I appreciated the desk attendant reminding me of all my benefits. Our room was very dark with not much natural lighting. I noticed a stain on my bedsheet right away but didn't think to make a fuss. This was my first experience at a St. Regis. The hotel itself is well maintained yet gives a very mature vibe. A place for the 55+ crowd. Room service was great. The tea room is available during the day, you can have a drink delivered right to you there.

Victoria P.

Yelp
Hotel: It's not what I would expect for a five star hotel. It's near the Galleria but that's it. The surrounding area are old buildings. Spa: I live in Houston and chose the Spa at St. Regis because there is nowhere to get a good massage in Houston! I chose the Shoulder & Scalp Rejuvenation massage and it was great! They have a sauna, which is great, but given the cost of everything at the spa, there should be a steam room, too. I was told my bottled water would be waiting after my massage and it was not. I was so thirsty I ended up going to their restaurant and drinking two large glasses of water. When I was checking out, I was kind of hurried out of there. Restaurant: There is only ONE restaurant in the hotel, The Remington. Eggs benedict was average. I got a cappuccino and it tasted below average; it was $8. The servers were nice.

Yelp
The service and food were excellent! Too pricey, though, for some sandwiches and a few sweets??

Tiffany H.

Yelp
I had a lovely time at St. Regis' afternoon tea for my birthday and would return again for another special occasion, but probably not anytime soon. All the food and desserts were fresh, and it didn't feel as if the sandwiches were stale or sitting in the fridge for the entire day. Besides that, the sandwiches were decent. They opened the tray for the blueberry scones in the back of the room and I saw the steam rise - definitely a wow moment for me! Clotted cream was good but the jam was slightly disappointing. For the price, I would have hoped for homemade jam, not the mini jars that you often find at hotels. The service was wonderful and attentive, always offering more tea and making sure we had a positive experience. I loved the harpist playing on the side which totally leveled up the vibes. They also sent us off with each a small box of macarons as gifts. We did find the room to be warm for our 3-5pm reservation probably due to the large windows and the 100+ degree weather. They only offered two teas (cherry blossom green tea and their house blend black tea), which was a surprise to me. The cherry blossom green tea was very delicate yet fragrant! Their black tea was good, but nothing special. Keep in mind there is a dress code - smart casual. People will come in their headband hats, like they're going to a royal wedding. But then I saw someone with shorts and sneakers the next table over so maybe they're not too strict. Valet parking is complimentary if you have a high tea reservation.

Yelp
Blown away. Berated at 9am to move the car that the valet parked. Dramatic argument and the manager Jamie doubled down. Your valet parked the car. We left early and decided to extend our stay with Post Oak. 5 star hotel that really is probably a 4 star with 1 star customer service. Save your energy and go to Post Oak. Sincerely, after traveling for decades, this was by far the worse experience I've ever had.
google avatar

Lisa B.

Yelp
Love love love this hotel! We came for teddy bear tea and everything was wonderful. From the valet, to the greeters, to the servers, to the staff at the event. We were blown away. We will be back every year for this new tradition. Delicious food and over and beyond service!

Josh D.

Yelp
This is a St. Regis in name only. This is really a dying old hotel. The location is the former Ritz Carlton. Now, it is uncrowded and has a "give up" vibe. No butler service unless in a suite. Hey St. Regis, isn't the butler service your thing? Guess not here. Also, everything is old, worn, and run down. The hotel needs a major overhaul. We paid $500 per night. Won't stay here ever again. RIP St. Regis Houston.

Seda A.

Yelp
I got robbed from my hotel room in St Regis Houston. DO NOT STAY HERE. We had 3 rooms for 1 night. 2 of the rooms have missing items. This is not a coincidence. I had my rolex watch and my jewelry bag go missing from my backpack and my friend has his Hermes belt gone missing from his room. This all happened when we left the room to go to dinner. Hotel isn't sharing the camera footage or who badged in to our rooms. This is the most frustrating and invasive accident. VERY INSECURE AND DISTURBING PLACE. This hotel cannot be a St Regis or be a part of Marriot Bonvoy. Horrible horrible horrible.
google avatar

Allie R.

Yelp
Hotel is very run down and old. Needs a major renovation. Not up to the level with other St. Regis properties. They are charging too much for what you get.
google avatar

Yelp
Review is for the afternoon tea only. Lovely! From the ease of valet which is validated to being promptly seated the service and food were great. Lovely teas, we had the Jasmine Tea & the House Blend which is comprised of many black teas. We enjoyed the tea sandwiches the chicken salad being my favorite. The scones were delicious! A lovely harpist also serenaded us! Perfect touch with a pair of macarons to go. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
So is this how the upper 10% of the Americans travel? No way my income level allows me to spend $300-400/night for a hotel...but since I was here for business I stayed for 2 nights for free! And WOW! This place is really nice! PROS: -Luxury, luxury, and more luxury! -Spacious, clean, and and classy room and bathroom -Big TV, Coffee Machine, -Nice pool and gym that are both open late! Perfect for post conference networking & BSing. -Very friendly staff...its like they're from Downton Abbey. -Complimentary shuttle service within roughly 5 miles. CONS: -Expensive! You get what you pay for though! -No in room refridgerator, just a pricey mini bar. -Not in walking distance of anything.
google avatar

Yelp
This review is for their afternoon tea. The reservations get booked up quickly, so make sure you reserve several weeks in advance if you have more nuanced time preferences. I came with 2 girlfriends, and we were seated on a couch in the corner. Valet parking is validated at the end of the tea experience. We were given options for a cherry green tea and their signature St Regis blend, and my friends opted to try both. However, as I am caffeine sensitive, I went with the green and then an herbal blend that was tart, floral, and refreshing. The amuse bouche is a piece of cucumber / tomato, and it is small and light. The fingers sandwiches were 4/5 - tasty but not unique in terms of presentation. I liked the scone but would have appreciated if the jam / jelly had been house made instead of in those glass containers. The desserts were good - my fave was the fruit tart, and they send you off with 2 large macarons, nicely packaged. Service was friendly and there was a harpist who provided lovely relaxing music. The ambiance is upscale, yet homey.

Yelp
it's a no for me. definitely not what i would call "5 stars" and definitely not up to par with the St Regis name. By far the worst of all St Regis properties I've seen yet. management is rude and doesn't respect basic privacy boundaries. room was disappointing. it was decent but not 5 stars, was comparable to an airport hotel. has a pool but no jacuzzi. gym is super deceiving. very tiny. looks nice in pictures but it is very minimal. like 3 treadmills, 1 bike, 1 weight bench, & 1 weight machine, & 1 leg machine. smaller than a nyc studio apt lol would never return or waste my money here again!! horrible value for the $$

Yelp
This review is only for afternoon tea. You have to call and make a reservation with a credit card. Valet parking with tips. We were told the experience is 2 hours from 3 to 5 pm. We didn't like the setting as the "table" is quite low and the sofa/chair were uncomfortable as they were sunken in. Hubby is 6 ft 4 inches and the seat was just too low. Harpist, Stacy, played a few classical pieces like Bach, Gershwin, etc. Good service from Carmen. Didn't care too much about the finger food like the sandwiches. I was really looking forward to scone with clotted cream but didn't like that. Kinda disappointed that jams were store bought instead of homemade. Desserts (keylime cake, a chocolate and fruit tart) were ok. Had flowery Earl Grey (very aromatic) and Darjeeling Oolong. We faced the exterior where there was a maintenance worker doing his thing. Not really the scene one expected to see when trying to relax and enjoy a cup of tea. Got a small box of French macaroons to go. It was an ok experience and nothing compared to what we had in the UK. Also, it won't take 2 hours as most parties finished around an hour or so.
google avatar

Tyler E.

Yelp
We had a great time at this St. Regis property. The staff and valet we're top-notch. I do believe they are ready for a remodel. Parts of the hotel looked dated, especially the pool area. Overall, it was very clean and we will return for another stay!

Yelp
Had a lovey high tea experience at the St. Regis. This hotel has a very classy and intimate ambience to it. We booked a Remington high tea for a Sunday. There's two available time of 11am or 3pm. When you arrived, there's complimentary valet parking with your high tea. Just let the valet know later. Feel free to dress classy or sophisticated. It's a great way to have some down time. Exceptional service by the ladies at high tea. We were served two kinds of tea. My favorite out of the two was the jasmine tea. Goes great with some cream and if you want a bit of sweetness then you can add a sugar cube. We were served mini sandwiches, small desserts, and scones. The scones were my favorite with the honey spread and fluffy buttery cream. We also got a taste of their dessert glass with mouse-like texture with fruits. Later on, we received to-go macaroons. There is a harpist playing cover of songs in the back. It was the perfect touch to the high tea. Definitely an experience to put on your list.

Yelp
Quick recap: - Food: Average - Portion size: Good - Service: Nice - Environment: Old fashioned - $: Expensive - Perks: Spa services More details: The hotel is nice, although it gives a kind of old fashioned vibe - not on the modern side let's say. Love the little dark chocolate gifts. The staff is really nice Overall? High quality, nice staff, the room service desserts are not good though

Yelp
Adore coming to the St Regis with my girlfriends! It's been a Christmas tradition for us but I enjoy coming several times a year. The St Regis blend is my favorite tea and I have purchased several tins because I enjoy it that much. Treat a loved one to a lovely afternoon of high tea!

Yelp
Went to a wedding and the food was pretty good. Good Vibes but I know people say this is the one of the most luxurious and bougie or whatever place to have a wedding but I personally liked Hotel Zaza slightly more. It is a beautiful place but I think people overhype and I overestimate it before I experienced it. Beautiful Chandelier. Lobster Bisque was the best. Follow me on Instagram @willeatfood

Yelp
We had private tea in the conservatory. Great service and finger foods. There's a variety of teas to choose from--all are good.

Yelp
Lovely hotel. The staff was really nice and I loveddd my room. Upon arrival I had a nice little drink at the bar downstairs, I also ordered a shrimp quesadilla which was just ok but I ate the whole thing lol

Yelp
This review is for the afternoon tea. Going to other locations in Houston for afternoon tea make me appreciate the St. Regis afternoon tea even more. I've been here for tea at least five times and have always had great service. The sweet and savory bites are fresh and delicious. The harpist plays beautiful music. All the other parties seem like they're having a good time. It's just a great way to spend the afternoon. The St. Regis tea blend is delicious.

Yelp
We had high expectations of our afternoon tea at the St Regis and found it to be grossly lacking. Afternoon tea is a much loved tradition for our family and we've done several of these at the Victoria Fairmont, San Francisco Palace Hotel, SF Mandarin Oriental, etc. in comparison the St. Regis was a distant last. While the tea itself is excellent - Bedford, Sri Lanka and House Blend, the food leaves much to be desired. The smoked salmon sandwich was combined with some egg salad-ish paste - the combo of two strong flavors with rye was unpleasant. The cucumber sandwich looked beautiful but was flat - some salt and pepper would have been nice. The other sandwiches were good. The scone was simply atrocious. It was a spongy, biscuit like concoction that missed the essence of a scone. Worse still it came with a wierd whipped cream (not clotted cream) and small jars of Bonne Mamma jam which felt tacky for such an expensive tea. To top it all there was no lemon curd! To add insult to injury my scone had a plastic fiber in it. At that point I simply lost my appetite. They brought out a tiered caddy with our pastries but had left the top of a champagne wire on one of the lowest plates. Other than that the service was attentive and on point. The St Regis tea is very expensive but seems like a lazy effort with sub par food that cannot hold its own to other leading establishments that pride themselves on attention to detail and delivering quality.

Yelp
Very overpriced. Valet staff were awesome! Maid staff attempted to open doors twice with do not disturb sign on door. Rushing to clean room actually chased us out of hotel before check out time. Bar is beautiful, wine list sucks. $500 per night is a waste of money.

Yelp
Really lovely hotel. The rooms were comfortable and updated, the service was great. The location was pretty central to everything we needed. We opted to eat outside the hotel, but the restaurants looked good. It's not a super walkable area, but there were shuttles to local areas.

Yelp
A very exquisite luxury hotel indeed. A nice restaurant inside as well as a restaurant around the corner that specializes in seafood. There is also a nice bar inside hotel with small entrees to enjoy as well. I enjoyed my stay from beginning to end. The staff was very pleasant, engaging and professional. Tony always greeted us while valeting my jeep. Lilliana at the front desk was superb in her customer service. She apologized for not having our room ready yet but upgraded us to a nice sweet showing value and loyalty to me as a Titanium member. She also held ou bags until the room was ready. Even when I visited the hotel lobby at 1am, I was greeted with a smile by Jade at the Front desk. She was genuinely kind and made me feel at home. The loss prevention employee greeted me as well as he did rounds. I was welcomed by the St. Regis butler, Sheila, who brought us hot tea with lemon, honey and a biscotti to start my morning. Her genuine smile and service was exquisite. At brunch the next day, our server, Ron, was detailed in explaining the menu. He was very efficient in serving us and making sure we enjoyed our meal. Our housekeeper, Azmarelda, was so friendly and polite when she inquire about cleaning our room. Her smile made me and my fiance smile. I cannot complain about anything to be honest. I will definitely come back to stay there again when in Houston. A very special thanks to everyone I encountered while staying there. I hope Management thanks them as well due to the engaging customer service given to me. This is why there are only 12 St. Regis in the world and they are part of the Marriott luxury hotels family. I highly recommend you stay there when opportunity allows. Being a member of the National Press Club of Washington DC and Founder of Get Up Radio Media Broadcasting, I am very selective of where I stay and expect only the finest in customer service and genuine engagement. ENJOY!!!

Yelp
Stayed for the weekend. Room was never made up, even after calling the Front Desk. Excuses were many check outs, hotel was full. Hotel car driver came in late , so ride scheduled never happened. Not staying there again.

Yelp
Went for high tea. The experience overall was fairly positive, but with some major issues in my opinion. First of all, my party booked over a month in advance, but the arrangements they made for us was a bit sloppy. They tried to split up the party between a table and a lounge area. We we're the first party there, so we were baffled. Then they proceeded to allow smaller parties to be seated in areas that could easily have fit us and could have fit comfortably at the table they tried to put us on. When I confronted the manager about this poor lack of planning, she was like hey, I don't control this, I just serve. In the end they shoved a different shaped table between 2 other tables, which made it impossible for us to speak to the other end without yelling. To me, if a party is paying 60+ per person and books over a month in advance...plan better. It was sloppy and felt like they overbooked and crammed us in the back. Now, once we settled in, I was more willing to give them a chance. While the workers did nothing to help our previous situation, their regular service was attentive and polite. The room and atmosphere was very lovely and there was no sense of rush. They offered a recommendation of Darjeeling and St. Regis blend. It was assumed that each person got to choose 2 teas, but it was per party, so unfortunately, I did not get to try my choices. They had a amuse of a cracker seated on butter with cheese and cream cheese and half a raspberry. It was ok. Then they brought out a selection of finger sandwiches. It... wasn't the best quality to be honest. I was most disappointed with the chicken salad, which tasted like a puree if non flavor. It kind of upset me to see how they substituted for dietary restrictions. One person asked for no beef or chicken, so they basically just gave her 3 salmon ones, which she did not eat. They brought out the desserts and placed them down before the scones for some reason, telling us it was so we could view it...? Scones we're pretty delicious, with honey and strawberry jam. the two whipped things? I thought was whipped cream... it was tasteless whipped butter? I personally only liked the chocolate dessert if the trio. My friend raved about the fruit tart, but I wasn't a fan. The caramel topped one, didn't taste bad, but didn't seem a good fit with the filling. The tea service part made it enjoyable. I drank soooo much tea. I preferred the Darjeeling and found the St. Regis blend a bit too fruity, but the servers came often to check on the tea needs. I did not like that they did an auto service charge, but since I planned to give them 20% anyways, it was not a big deal for me. Overall, it was a fun experience, but I felt like it was not worth the money. I feel the hotel cheaped out on some things and that no one really says anything because high tea is supposed to be fancy and focused on what looks nice rather than taste?

Yelp
There are truly no words that can explain the way I feel about The St. Regis in Houston. What makes a hotel is not only the actual hotel itself, it's the people. The amazing, wonderful kind people that go above and beyond to make your stay perfect. It's people like Samantha Cosani in particular. My husband and I have been staying at the St. Regis in Houston for 12 years now. It's our spot. We have celebrated our anniversary, birthdays, just a random date night and most importantly the night before his brain tumor surgery. This is our home in Houston. We are treated with such respect and love and it does not go unnoticed. The fresh flowers in the entry, the stunning arrangements in the check in.... All of the small details that are put into everything you do makes you who you are. We had the pleasure of staying in the State Suite. And wow! What a state it was. It was perfection. All thanks to Samantha for making it happen for my birthday. We (my husband and I, my mom and my girls) were treated like royalty. THANK YOU! Thank you for who y'all are. Thank you for what you do. Thank you from the ends of the Earth for being just kind, amazing humans who care for others. Remarkable job to everyone who makes everything run so smoothly daily. It takes a team.

Yelp
This was my second time having afternoon tea at the St. Regis. Be sure to make reservations well in advance. They happily accommodated my gluten-free request and provided delicious sandwiches and mini desserts that were completely tasty yet GF. The tea selections were lovely and enjoyed the champagne with our service. Speaking of service, it was prompt and attentive. Atmosphere is beautiful with plenty of fresh flowers and live harp music. As you would expect with the St. Regis reputation, this tea service is pretty pricey.

Yelp
Came to the St. Regis for their Friday high tea service. This was my first time partaking in high tea, and honestly I didn't even know such a thing existed until a coworker suggested we bring customers. The whole experience was fantastic: the tea was hot and tasty, the champagne was cold and bubbly, the finger sandwiches flavorful and a great snack. My favorite dish was the warm scone- holy moley was it good with the cream and jam! They had a harpist playing, which added to the ambiance nicely. The atmosphere is calm, relaxed, and there's no pressure to move quickly or clear out for the next group- reservations are required, so make them as far in advance as you can. Valet parking is complimentary if you're attending high tea, but you should still tip the valet. I had a fantastic time, and everything went off flawlessly. I can't wait to return for another afternoon of tea and champagne soon!

Yelp
The valet management seems brainless! I went with my wife to have a nice dinner at the Remington bar and the valet was so poorly managed!! It was a busy day and only ONE valet guy was running the whole show putting in work even though there were 3 others!! Shout out to Ryan for the above and beyond service and getting my car when I needed it. The others were poorly trained and the valet or hotel management needs to figure out why 3 out of 4 of his valets were clearly undertrained. Ask for valet Ryan because he'll make sure your car is safe! The food and drinks were amazing and the bar atmosphere was great! Overall it was a great experience.. Harry (bar) & Ryan (valet) are your go toos

Yelp
The hospitality is what stands out at the St Regis in Houston. The staff calls you by name and they remember your name throughout your stay which really impressed me. The whole setting off the hotel felt very old school New York, classy and elegant. The hotel had fresh flowers in every corner so it smelled like fresh lilies throughout the lobby! I found the bathrobes to be the comfiest ones I've ever felt, all I wanted to do was curl up and sleep in it. The king bed was like a cloud, just wanted to sleep all day in it. There is only valet parking which is 34$ per day. The pool is heated and the gym is pretty small but you could get a solid workout in if you wanted to. No mirrors to check your form while working out though. Had a wonderful stay here and will be back soon.

Yelp
Reservations are required for high tea, which takes place Friday-Sunday 3 PM-5 PM. Traditional tea service costs $45/person, while the traditional and beyond tea service costs $55/person. The slight difference between the two is the traditional tea service include an English Trifle Coupe and endless choice of tea room bubbles. Our waiters, Jorge and Gregoria, were so attentive and paid such great attention to detail. I was blown away by the service. Jorge recommended two teas for us during the tea service. We started with the organic green tea and switched to the St. Regis blend once the currant scone was served. High Tea starts off with an amuse-bouche. The signature tea sandwiches include: Cucumber-Watercress with Boursin Cheese Aged Gruyere, Roasted Peppers & Pecans Smoked Salmon with Caper Egg Salad Bresaola Beef & Provolone Chicken Salad with Dried Cranberries There was a difference in opinions when it came to the favorite signature tea sandwich. Cheryl's favorite was the chicken salad, mine was the aged gruyere with roasted pepper and pecans, while the rest of the girls liked the cucumber-watercress sandwich. My favorite item during high tea was the currant scone with Devonshire cream, served warm after the sandwiches were finished. We had the options of adding either strawberry preserves, raspberry preserves, or honey. The hands down favorite was the honey with Devonshire cream. The warm scone just absorbed the honey and cream, so you got some with every bite. The trio of pastries followed the scone. The selection of pastries were fruit tart, lemon meringue tart, and a chocolate cake. The fruit tart was my favorite. By the time we got to the pastries, we were all pretty full. We were each sent home with a gift box of assorted macarons, which I really appreciated. Overall, it was an excellent experience and Cheryl states this has been her favorite high tea experience to date. I would highly recommend this for a group of girlfriends, but be sure to make a reservation in advance. Valet parking is also validated during High Tea, but be sure to tip your valet guys.

Yelp
I've stayed at the St Regis in Houston before and it's always been a pretty positive experience. Based on my experience and expectations, a St Regis should rate 5 stars. However, there were a few notable service blunders with this property. First, the length of time to check-in was a bit on the long side...And what was particularly annoying was that someone asking a question jumped in line and was helped by the service manager before the next person to check-in. Regardless, I was pleased to be upgraded on arrival to one of the St Regis's Butler floors which provides for pressing services, show shine and coffee/tea service. However, what was disappointing is that the butler never came by to introduce themselves or schedule any of the services...So I couldn't tell if I was on a butler floor or not. On the positive side, the room was very comfortable and spacious (except for the tiny closet)...And the bed was amazingly comfy. Amenities in the room were St Regis standard and include illy coffee, fresh fruit and water. I had dinner in the bar and breakfast in the restaurant and both were quite good. Breakfast in particular was exceptionally good..As was the service. Overall, a good stay...Not a great stay...And the St Regis Houston does have a few things to work on especially as it relates to check-in and their absentee butler service.

Yelp
Nice upscale hotel just inside the Loop near the Junior League. Helps that this is also a Starwood Hotel (SPG points...). We went for High Tea, which was well priced and tasty. Their special blend tea is worth returning for by itself. We followed that with a couple's massage that was good too. Give both a try. The pool deck was quiet and peaceful. Didn't see a room on this visit. Maybe next time for a stay-cation.

Yelp
AFTERNOON TEA SERVICE REVIEW I'm totally in agreement with Aimee L that tea service is awesome, and I really enjoyed the experience at the St. Regis. This is only the third time I've experienced a tea service, but this by far was the classiest of them all. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and a nice way of enjoying a drink and light bites with a friend. Chronologically, let's go through the process: 1. PARKING: Free valet. 2. ARRIVAL: I think they only take reservations. We were seated immediately on a cozy couch. There are also tables, but since we were a part of 2, this made sense for us. They looked like they could accommodate a larger part of 12. However, the whole parlor might only be able to fit in 20-30 people at most. (Call to confirm this with them.) 3. AMBIANCE: This was everything that you'd expect from a 4-5 star hotel. There was a live harpist who played all my show tune and classical favorites including some contemporary "classical" music from the 2005 Pride and Prejudice soundtrack. 4. SERVICE: I'll admit that I had a hard time understand the accents of the waitstaff, as did my friend. However, it was equivalent to white-glove service. It was fantastic! You get to choose from two teas; they have suggestions for you if you don't want to use your brain. ------TEA (their recommendations)------ :: White Tip Darjeeling :: "The champagne of teas" This one was very light and milde for a black tea. They didn't oversteep this and make it too acidic or bitter. It was pleasant and not overpowering. Then again, I don't think it particularly brought out the taste of the first course (finger sandwiches.) :: St. Regis Blend :: This was made specifically for the St. Regis. I had this with our scone and dessert courses. It was much fuller-bodied as my Yelp friend Lydia might say. It had notes of bergamot and florals. If you don't like Earl Greys but go for a classic English breakfast tea, stay away from this. NOTE: I'm a green tea girl. However, I was not displeased with this black teas they had on hand. ------FOOD------ SANDWICH COURSE :: Smoked salmon. Nice, light, not overpoweringly fishy or cream-cheesey. Interesting and good herb, though I can't place it. :: Red Bell Pepper and Gruyere. FREAKIN' AMAZING! "Pinkies up" amazing. Indubitably. Quite lovely. Quite! :: Olive prosciutto. Hmm. Definitely not my favorite. The prosciutto is the only flavor until you bite into the olive. I'm NOT a fan of olives, and this one killed the sandwich for me. :: Chicken salad sandwich. Surprisingly sweet, but not in a bad way. The sprouts were a nice touch. :: Cucumber. I'm sure most people would start with this one. I suggest ending with it as it's a palette cleanser! (Well, start with it if you have tastes in your mouth before getting your tea on.) It was sweet and refreshingly cool. SCONE COURSE :: Scone with clotted cream, which is like unsweetened whipped cream. It had lovely currants in it and could be enjoyed with a strawberry jam, raspberry jam, or honey. Good, but so filling that I didn't get to dessert at this seating. DESSERT COURSE (I won't review these because I didn't eat them fresh at the sitting.) :: Lemon tart with a browned meringue/whip on top :: Fruit tart :: Opera cake ------TAKEAWAY------ Yes, as Aimee L says, they will give you a to-go box of three small macarons. They will also let you take any food that you couldn't finish at the seating. 5. BATHROOMS: The women's restroom is just outside of the tea lounge and to the left. It is very dim with horrendous overhead lighting that makes you look like a corpse in the mirror and brings out the worst in your complexion issues. They do have a small seating parlor with sconce lighting in case you need to touch up your make-up. I love the napkins in here for drying your hands.

Yelp
Very disappointed in the service, room was never cleaned after calling in the morning before we left for the day. Then after we returned at 4 in the afternoon they show up. This is not a Motel 6, I expected so much more. Will not stay here again!

Yelp
My experiences with The St. Regis have been limited to their High Tea. But let me tell you, the High Tea is phenomenal! The tea room is beautiful and the food is amazing! You think you're not going to get full because the portions are small, but there are many of those small portions and you will leave stuffed. You get 5 delicious mini sandwiches, a scone, 3 mini desserts, and 2 kinds of tea (all you can drink). For just a little extra money, you also get a mini trifle and all the champagne you can drink. When you leave, they give you a little box of macarons to go! The service is impeccable - they are so kind, friendly, and attentive. You feel like a queen! It's not cheap and it's not something I would do regularly, but once or twice a year, High Tea at The St. Regis is so much fun!

Yelp
This review is solely for their afternoon tea!! One of my close friends is getting married soon and so me and another friend wanted to take her to tea, and I'm so glad we picked this place!! Amazing ambience - Check Tasty tea - Check Delicious desserts - Check Finger licking food - Check Superb service - Check Also they have a separate vegetarian menu for their sandwiches and they ask you about it when you make reservations. And yes, please make reservations as this place gets packed up pretty quickly. Looking for something different to do with your girlfriends next Saturday afternoon, head to St. Regis and enjoy their high tea service!!

Yelp
First time at this hotel and got to experience afternoon tea. The experience was great to start to finish. We had really nice wait staff and were treated very well. There were three courses and two different types of tea that we could choose from. The teas were really good and we were always taken care of by making sure we always had tea available. My favorite course was the scone it was really tasty. I also enjoyed dessert and surprisingly it was all very filling. They also give you macaroons before you leave to take home which was very nice to get. As for parking I think they only have valet which is validated if you come for the afternoon tea but you still have to make sure to tip the guys. Overall it was a fun first experience and I would recommend to try it out.

Yelp
Visited the St. Regis for a wedding last month. The staff was very hospitable and accommodating! The decor and ambience of the hotel couldn't have been more regal. The rooms were spacious, as was the ballroom. Valet Parking was easy, street parking is very limited here. The Hotel's event manager is very professional and great to work with! Overall, a pleasant experience! I want to plan a visit during their Afternoon/High Tea.
