The Stakeout is a beautiful place at an elevation that allows you to see sweeping views of the mountains all around Taos. We went on a Sunday evening and ate dinner. The food was great. Voodoo chicken with the corn side dish was an amazing combo! A great bottle of wine. And live music started up around 7:30. Great atmosphere. Recommend. But note that service is relaxed and somewhat slow. And they did run out of some menu items later in the evening.

We attended a wedding here a few weeks ago. It could not have been a more memorable or more perfect event. The setting, the building, the food, the cocktails, and, most importantly, the staff are all top-notch. It was an exquisite evening thanks to so much attention to detail behind the scenes. Absolutely lovely. Thank you so much for making this incredible event a beautiful reality!!

Brunch is incredible, dinner is a vibe, the salads are fresh and delicious! Some of the best food I’ve had in northern New Mexico. The vegetarian dishes are phenomenal and the space is stunning. Very celiac friendly! Great attention is made for dietary restrictions. I will be back often.

We took our entire company here for drinks and dinner. Everything was perfect — the cocktails were top notch, the food was amazing, the views were spectacular, and best of all — the staff was amazing and knowledgeable. They were suggesting lesser known drinks based on our preferences and had good suggestions for the wine. The was the highlight of our team retreat!

The Stakeout is THE WEDDING VENUE of Northern New Mexico. Its offering of adobe arches, outdoor patios, chimeneas and some of the best drink chemists in the southwest, all the while surrounded by sage and piñons gives it so much spirit. My wife and I were not only able to live out a dream of having our wedding in Northern NM at the Stakeout but we also got to share the Mountain Views with our friends from around the world. It almost goes without saying They, along with us, are forever going to have a special spot in our heart for the Stakeout. As a native New Mexican, have your Wedding, Event, an off the beaten path moment at the Stakeout and have your soul touched by a just as enchanting staff… you won’t regret it.

Slow service, had to finally ask after 15 minutes. Dog hair in glass of water. Cocktail was made wrong (even after I asked, clear Bijou? Not without forgetting the sweet vermouth), dog sprayed on column right next to table while we were sitting there, too many wondering dogs. Beautiful view, however.

I’ve been coming to the stakeout for years now and each time the experience is more and more impressive. Their latest marvel is a Sunday brunch service that merits a white knuckled, hour long journey through blizzard conditions—it was well worth it to say the least. Best damn steak and eggs of my life. Bread pudding French toast will curl your toes. Atmosphere is unbeatable… classic cozy music, a cute dog now and then, what else could you possibly ask for? Cute bartenders? Check. Long, social, Last Supper-type tables? Check. A Manhattan or New Orleans level cocktail program at rural high desert prices? Check. Nothing but accolades for this Juniperan gem.

While the food was decent, the service we received left us disappointed. Upon finding a table and ordering food, we were approached by two of the waitstaff who mentioned that some "other" patrons had paid for our drinks. Upon paying for our bill, they then informed us that these two drinks weren't free. The experience left a really poor taste in our mouths and the woman who informed us of our "free drinks" conveniently made herself scarce until we were safely gone. Still shaking my head at such odd behavior.
