Adorable place with amazing staff, cozy indoor seating and a spacious outside garden. The menu is small but everything is top quality. Amazing seafood and traditional dishes with a twist. Pricey, but worth it!!!

Best kale ever! All the food was amazing but several days later we are still comparing every other place to the Standard. Worth a visit for the food here alone.

We were lucky to visit on the sunny day and enjoyed outside atmosphere a lot. The staff is very friendly and go above beyond to make sure everyone is having great time and that you will want to come back, which we did. Food was delicious and portions were generous however my fish was served in the cold plate which made my dish cold very quickly. My husband enjoyed mussels he ordered and commented as best he ever had. Kids menu wasn’t impressive and pizza we ordered for our toddler didn’t have any taste however we got better luck with Mac and cheese on the second time. Cod mackerel is served on its own so you need to order sides separately. Desserts top mark, especially waffle with strawberries (I would change cream to ice cream though). I also ordered spicy Bloody Mary which wasn’t nice to drink, it was too bitter. We were visiting with our two kids and the great addition to this pub is that there is amazing playground (Gerrand school) 2 minutes walk from the place, not far from car park. If you want to tire out your kids before the meal, I would suggest to go there first. Overall we loved our both visits there and had amazing time, would definitely recommend and we will come back next summer!

Every member of staff was so attentive and super friendly. The food was amazing, the best I have had in a very long time. They really know their ingredients, each complimented one another brilliantly and the roast potatoes (sorry took photo after I started tucking in, I need to know how to make them) To top it all off, the price was very reasonable. The only downside is that we live so far away we can't visit every week. But next time we visit we'll be booking in (more than once)

Visited twice in February 24, the food was outstanding, a real wholesome experience. Seafood option was hake, which was on the bone and with mussels, simply delicious. However the dish that really blew us away was the lamb special, which was slow roasted shoulder with veg, served up in the cooking pot with lashings of rich gravy/sauce, it was rich in flavour and super tender. Great to also find beers from Verdant on cask and keg.

Beautiful pub with beautiful food. We had a main each and dessert and it was all delicious. The pasta was delicious and I would have it again in a heart beat. The staff were also very nice. I would definitely come back. There is a lovely beer garden which is nice to sit at and relax. It is dog friendly.

Fantastic food, nice decor and friendly staff. We had a reservation but waited 50 minutes for food to arrive. Not a huge menu but all top quality options. Parking challenging at busy times so we walked along the coastal path past the hidden hut.

My husband and I have a variety of intolerances 🙄 and the staff were so helpful at explaining what they could adapt for us. Our sandwiches were probably the best either one of us have eaten. The vibe and atmosphere was great and tiny details thought of - when I booked I said we needed a high chair and we we got to our table, the highchair was waiting for us. We can't wait to come back!
