Another burger heaven hiddern gem. The burger selection is great and I tried the Dressed burger. Perfect burger and perfectl bun. Simply perfection and great customer service. They added a tray of fries as my first visit. If staying any hotel close the airport it is so worth the drive. It really is standing room only with a nice little patio to enjoy your burger in the fresh air and sunshine 🌞

Google
I have ordered the breakfast burritos a few times which are stellar, however I was in late on a Friday and in need of dinner fare. I ordered the short ribs which came with brussels sprouts drizzled with a habanero cream sauce, roasted potatoes, white rice and salad with balsamic dressing. The meal was on par with any good restaurant in the South Bay. The serving size was big enough for me to have 2 meals which at $25 is a bargain for the quality. More of a take-out place although there is some seating outside. I will definitely be back again.

Google
Just plain old good delicious food. The fries were amazing, and I'm not that big into fries! I got a simple burger, delicious, and my fiance got the Cash burger, and it did not disappoint. I appreciated the brussel sprouts. Staff was friendly. Only down side is there's no bathroom 🙄

Google
Terrific burger and tasty fries! The burger was lovely, thick, delicious and had tasty sauce. Nice fresh french fries also with your choice of sauces.

Google
This is a take out place that has some seating outside and a bar inside. Maybe 4 seats inside. It’s located inside a liquor/convenient store. The burger was delicious. It was the dressed burger. The flavors went really well together and I’m not a huge blue cheese fan. It was a nice blend. I do however wish the fries came with the burger. Which is what I thought for 15$+. I also ordered the Brussels sprouts. They were nice and crispy and the sauce ontop was perfection. Definitely coming back. I took a pic of my Brussels sprouts but chowed down on the burger before remembering to take a photo. Xo

Google
The Standing Room Restaurant at 144 N Catalina Ave, Redondo Beach, CA 90277 I got on Google searching for that burger with that experience of a life time moment and I found it. Anybody willing to do a drive 🛻🚗🚙 to find a good hamburger joint that they can talk about for years to come for this is your location📍. This burger with the🍟 fries and the meat and the barbecue🍖 meat I think they call it the "Napoleon". The truffle parmesan🧀🍟 fries alone that was connected to it was a mouth-watering sensation. Only thing I wish I had was some good gloves to enjoy this meal lol 🤣. The second 🍔Burger was a classic and it had a fried onion ring that had bacon🥓 fried to it, both of these burgers were extraordinary and well worth the drive to taste this unbelievable experience.

Google
The burger I got was the Dressed burger. I am a fan of blue cheese and the sauces they layered the burger with. The meat was well cooked and the bun was amazing. I think for flavor, this place packs an awesome punch. I didn't give it 5 stars mainly for size of burger. For the price, with no fries, I was left still able to eat another full burger. Seating inside was very limited and can see how eating here during rush hour would be no fun si ce Its in a convenient store. It's definitely hot a cool vibe though. I am sure their other burgers are amazing, but for me it has to have the whole nine yard. Great job Standing Room for a great burger!

Google
Came here with the entire family and everyone agreed that we'll be back. I had the truffle fries and naked burger. While the fries were exactly how I like them (thinner and more crisp) they lacked the truffle essence, so I'll probably skip them next time. The burger was perfection. Cooked just right, enough of the extras to be noticed, but not so much that they dominated or turned the burger into a fall apart mess, and a bun that was sturdy enough to hold everything together yet still so soft it was easy to consume. The entire family also loved the brussel sprouts and the grilled cheese was a winner also.

Yelp
Hope you brought you passports because you're about to go flavor town The quality of their beef patties rivals the finest Japanese Kobe beef. None of that bullsh*t waygu that everyone else claims their beef is. This is the most tender, juicy, and flavorful beef with such depth of flavor my mouth is watering just thinking about it. I ordered the Dressed Burger that came with a pungent delicious blue cheese, crisp bacon, Smokey Gouda, caramalized onions, and a perfectly cooked runny egg. Each flavor complimented each other for a flavor explosion with every bite. My taste buds were overwhelmed umami goodness for a memorable experience I will treasure for the rest of my life.

Yelp
Pork belly plate was tasty. Give it a try. Grab a drink in the liquor store and savor their food.

Matthew K.

Yelp
This is a little hole in the wall spot located in the back of a liquor store. And it is totally worth it! They have various combinations of burgers with the bulgogi, short rib and all kinds of other goodness and fixins. I got the Napoleon. Be warned this is a total knife and fork job. The name must be a joke because if Napoleon had ordered this, his eyes would clearly be bigger than his stomach. It has the regular cheeseburger patty with short rib, fried egg, caramelized onions, and truffle fries. There's some other stuff on it too that I can't remember but dang this thing was it!

Jenny R.

Yelp
Everything was good, luckily I went during a random lunch day-zero wait ! Description was accurate, in the liquor store. I had a barstool seat, given no one was there. Hot and fresh !

Bianka C.

Yelp
I have been coming to the standing room since I was in high school but hadn't had it in a few years so came in and ordered 2 Napoleon burgers and a bull burger, still really good just a bit drier than I remember. The Parmesan fries that come with the napoleon burger are still really good! They have some tables outside but we decided to take out since we live right up the street. I would come back I would just probably ask for extra sauce on my burgers. But will be back!

Yelp
On a spontaneous Saturday afternoon, my friend and I decided to give this place a try, and we lucked out - typically, it's bustling. Soon after we ordered, our Cash burgers arrived. The Korean aioli with peppers and BBQ sauce gave the Cash burger a delightful twist, and the toasted buns were perfection, creating an ideal barrier to keep all the flavorful juices intact. The fries were delicious, keeping it simple yet satisfying for us. Keep in mind that parking might be a challenge during busy times, but there are a few spots near the store and street parking available. For those who enjoy outdoor seating, there are a few options, creating a neighborly atmosphere.

Lilly S.

Yelp
The first time I ate here a few years ago, it was delicious! I think the guys that started the place were cooking at that time. Came back recently and ordered the same Napoleon Burger but it wasn't that good. In the car coming home, it gave off an unpleasant aroma.... Burger had an entire order of fries inside which was way, way too much . I don't trust the place now to ever return.

Rob M.

Yelp
Cash burger is my favorite! All the flavors you want in a burger. Throw in a side of parm truffle fries and you've found your heavenly meal for the day. :-)

Nailah P.

Yelp
I just came to this place today and WOWWWWW! Amazing service and delicious food! The short rib and the salmon are so good and fresh! The brussel sprouts and the sauce on top of them were heavenly!!!! I will be back for sure! This place is a 10/10! I can't wait to show my family this place!

Sam V.

Yelp
Kind of an odd setup in the back of a liquor store and there's a bit of a wait for food to be made but good things come to those who wait and their meals have never disappointed. That salmon lunch plate was ! And their fried Brussel sprouts are some of the best I've had.Worth a stop in if you're in the area and have a hankering for quality food.

Ed S.

Yelp
Waiting time too long. Doesn't look exactly sanitary. In side of funky liquor store.

Jaz R.

Yelp
Would come back to try a different burger but i LOVED mine! My man got one with 10 ingredients in it - was too much and unenjoyable. We may come back but def worth a try, solid burgers and sweet potato fries.

Rich W.

Yelp
I used to come to this place all the time in high school and continued going throughout college. I absolutely love this place. It is on Catalina Blvd right by the beach so if you'd like, you can enjoy the ocean while eating and they have outdoor seating aswell. The food is phenomenal and the staff is very nice and personable. Thank you to Lonzo for being so understanding of my time and accommodating my specific order. He was incredibly sweet, and I can tell works hard.

Tony K.

Yelp
2nd time coming here. First time was super crowded and had a lot of people to dig through just to order, but came on a Sunday morning when they just opened was the best time for us. My wife got the shortie Sammie, while I got a cash burger with sweet potato fries. I also ordered the k dilla. The burger was delicious and tender. I devoured it in 4 bites. My wife loved the shortie Sammie, stating the meat was tender and soft with the veggies included in the sandwich. The sweet potato fries had the best crunchy texture and what's more it was LIGHT! The best was the k dilla. I was told it was just a quesadilla, but it had slow cooked carnitas with caramelized onions and fresh avocados. Bomb! Definitely must come back to try the rest. I do recommend to eat here, but try to come by not during prime time as they don't make it til you order it and with all the people ahead of you ordering don't be surprised that food may take some time.

Charles T.

Yelp
Amazing Not your typical burger joint and that's not their shtick Always worth the splurge

Jake F.

Yelp
Best burgers in the South Bay hands down. Nearby competition doesn't compete. Cash burger and parm fries are my go to and can't stop recommending this unique place. Stop going elsewhere people

Gia C.

Yelp
Amazing burger! Small place inside Catalina Liquor. Outside seating available. Quick and efficient service. Anytime someone from out of town visits I take them to get a yummy burger and fries here! Can't go wrong with a classic burger-- juicy and cooked to perfection every time-- and truffle parm fries! Not pictured here is the danger burger, another favorite!

Noah A.

Yelp
Looks like I haven't posted a review for the standing room. We have gotten sandwiches here three times and honestly it's three times because it's really good. Can I remember what I got no. I have to look at the menu but I know it had beef and I know one kid got a burger or maybe both kids got a burger but everything we've had here is really good, and quite honestly I do like that they're inside a liquor store so I can walk around and get a candy bar and my boys can pick sodas that you can't normally get at a fast food restaurant.

Paulette D.

Yelp
I'm extremely disappointed with this place after my third visit. 1) they raised their prices, which i understand because inflation is high but 2) the quantity AND quality went down since my last visit And 3) there's 3 young guys working and yet it took 20 minutes+ to make our food with no one ahead of us in line. The short rib plate is NOT worth the $25 and i had so many issues with the food. 1) There was barely any potatoes and salad. 2) The potatoes were undercooked And 3) the meat was overcooked and was VERY DRY For $25 and a 20 minute wait for not quality food...i will not be coming here anymore

Mark J.

Yelp
Ok, if you are in Callabasis, Fresno, New York City or anywhere...you need to come out to Redondo Beach and have a Standing Room Cheeseburger! By far, waaaay far supersedes any burger on the planet! There is none that can even come close! The bread, the crispy edged patty and oh the extras! Truly there is no other like it! Best burger in the world!

Tawny V.

Yelp
It was a beautiful gloomy day in southern California and I thought it would be nice to cruise the beach and take a food tour which started at The Standing Room in Redondo Beach. Many of my friends recommended this place! Boy, were they right! Ordered the Cash burger - Bacon, shishito peppers, American cheddar, crispy peppered onion, Korean aioli, hoisin bbq! Totally a hidden gem! Outdoor seating, dog friendly. There is a spot in Redondo that I usually go out of my way to visit but I think this place will be added to my list! Can't wait to come back and try another burger with fries!

Glory A.

Yelp
Place is inside the liquor store. Outdoor seating and a few tall chairs next to the register. This place doesn't look much but do not let that fool you! Omg this place surprised me. The food is super delish. Like they stated FINE FOOD for take out, is exactly what they are. Try their CASH and CLASSIC burgers!! CASH BURGER is like western bbq flavors!! Sooooo bomb! Definitely will be coming back when around.

Hiral S.

Yelp
Great hole-in-the-wall spot - wish they had more vegetarian/vegan options but the service and food were both amazing!

Jill -.

Yelp
Yummy sandwich/lunch options that are unusual yet delicious pairings. Read the website first to be prepared - it's a weird order set-up - through a window - or in the liquor store - don't be deterred. BUT - this is not a standard restaurant where you're served - it is literally Standing Room only - outside. Hey, it's the beach...-ish. Order ahead a take away - you won't regret it!

German S.

Yelp
I can keep this short and simple . This is easily a top 3 burger place for me. Narrowed down to socal the burgers here can hold their own against any other burger place.

Melisa C.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite burger places in the South Bay that is hidden inside a liquor store. This may not be the best burger place in LA but if you're in the South Bay and are craving a burger, this is one of the places to check out. Some of their menu items are Korean-influenced (short rib, bulgogi, kimchee) but I think anyone coming here can find something they'll like. I've tried the shortie sammie and the chance, hapa, naked and classic burgers and have enjoyed each one. Their classic burger which I had most recently is a no frills, standard burger that comes with lettuce, tomato, onion, cheese and thousand island dressing. It is super flavorful and the meat is both tender and juicy. Their burgers can be a bit messy to eat but aren't most burgers? The fries here are also great, truffle or regular. I love their crispiness, the amount you get and that they don't feel overseasoned. A few tips to know: Orders can take 20-30m depending on how busy they are. If I have limited time, I like to call ahead to save time. Also, there is limited parking and seating. Their lot doesn't have many spots but there is usually street parking available. If you are willing to walk a bit, there are some public benches available closer to the pier. Overall if you are in the area, stop by if you are looking for a good burger. The workers here are super nice and you won't be disappointed.

Kimberly W.

Yelp
Great little spot hidden in a liquor store in Redondo Beach. Everything was hot, fresh and really delicious, hardest part was picking a burger!

Brittany H.

Yelp
One of the best burgers I've had in a long time. I really love the attention to detail per burger, they're unique and have flavors I've never seen be put onto a burger. I had the bull and it was really tasty. The bulgogi, peppers, and onions were topped on the center of the burger, but I just wish they were more scattered all over the top to where I got some in every bite. I did feel a little skimped for the amount that there was in my burger. It also had very little kimchi as well, I wouldn't have known it had kimchi if I didn't read the description again after. But the flavors were so savory, and the the Korean aioli made it flavorful and juicy. The classic was also savory and juicy, I prefer it over any classic burger that I've tried. The brioche buns also deserve recognition, they were delicious. The kids chicken tenders were seasoned very well and you could see the spices in the breading. I loved their sweet potato fries they were nice and crispy and so were the fries. I will be coming back to try something different and explore their fun and creative menu!

Yelp
We'd heard about the standing room for years and finally decided to visit it in its original spot. On a cold, dark rainy night, we pulled up to the counter and ordered burgers- to go. Food was ready pretty quick, and carefully packaged. Service was indifferent and food tasted ...just okay. Thought it was pricey for what we got. Maybe our mistake was going on a rainy night. Food might've tasted better if we'd walked up from the beach on a hot, sunny day and ate it in the parking lot. Maybe if we'd bought a beer from inside to go with it. Too bad we didn't. So all I can honestly tell you is that it's overpriced and meh if you order it on a rainy night to go.

Timothy B.

Yelp
This afternoon, my wife and I took my brother, who had a 7-hour layover at LAX, to The Standing Room. My wife and I had been here many times and it was my favorite burger place. I wanted to brag about how good it was to my brother. I ordered three Dressed Burgers, which come with Bacon, Spring Mix, Caramelized Onion, Bleu, Smoked Gouda, Fried Egg, Korean Aioli, Tomato Jam, Brussel sprouts, which come with habanero cream, and truffle Parmesan fries. The food was incredibly disappointing. All of the burgers were cooked far past well done. Dry, hard and difficult to chew. The Gouda cheese was a shaving and wasn't melted on the burger. The egg was also overcooked and the yoke was hard. Both the Korean Aioli and tomato jam were absent. An overcooked McDonalds cheese burger would have been better because the cheese would have been melted and it would have had ketchup, pickle, mustard and onion. The Brussels sprouts were cooked properly, but there was no habanero cream. Or cream of any kind. Fortunately, the truffle parm fries were great as usual. The meal cost $65 w/o tip. I was embarrassed to have brought my brother there.

Eric F.

Yelp
My wife and I tried the Napoleon and a fried chicken plate and collectively, they were okay. The former's beef patty was somewhat dry and the hoisin BBQ surprisingly salty. The fried chicken was in fact two breaded and fried chicken breasts rather than actual chicken pieces...thick batter and borderline dry. Out of everything, the brussels sprouts as part of the plate turned out to be the tastiest item. Far from the best in their respective categories and we probably won't be ordering again.

Kathrine W.

Yelp
The definition of hidden gem - I am not usually one to go for fries/burgers in a liquor store, but I am glad I tried the Standing Room! Located at the back of Catalina Liquor, this place has a surprisingly extensive menu. I had the Garlic Truffle Fries. The serving was very generous for the price, but I didn't get any truffle. The fries were crispy and the cheese was just slightly melted - my fav! The service was fast and friendly. I would like to try more of the menu. There is seating outside the liquor store in the parking lot, or take your food and go to the nearby beach & enjoy the view!

Leisa T.

Yelp
I was told it would take 40 mins for a to go order which was cool I got there at like 30 mins. It was sitting off to the side, Stone cold. I got a burger that wasn't even 4oz of beef it was a mini bun. With a half a slice of avocado. My husband got the chicken Sammie the chicken was cold and he got double meat. Ummm again didn't even add up to 4 oz. I wish It wasn't so late and we were starving. I should have taken pictures. My bad. They should be ashamed calling them burgers they are hardly bigger than a slides.

Gloria U.

Yelp
Fire fire fire! But totally unexpected! I didn't realize it was a order only joint inside of a convenience store! The prices are decently high but the food is great! We got both the sweet potatoes fries and the truffle fries and both were 10/10! I can't remember the name of the burgers we got but they were spicy and delicious (we asked for what's most popular). We also got the salmon sandwich and that was amazing! Highly recommend but do note there is no true seating so plan to take out! Interesting setup.

Jay B.

Yelp
I heard about this spot in TV...put it on my list for when I get to LA...it really is inside of a Liquor Store...I enjoyed the Cash Burger...the Aoili gives it a different taste...I dig the different...the fries kinda missed the spot...I prefer my fries a little softer...I would encourage others to try it out and run through the Burger menu...I will definitely be back!!!

Gregory B.

Yelp
The best burger in the South Bay hands down and they've kept their quality high through the years.

JR L.

Yelp
So first, I came here after driving to the Torrance location, only to find that it was permanently closed as of yesterday. I then ordered from the Redondo location online, hoping to cut back on the wait time. Nope. It was still a full 40 minutes from the time I placed the order, until I received my food. Everyone who ordered after me, at the counter, received their food before me, which was frustrating. The staff was apologetic, which did make me feel better. But overall the service and experience felt very disorganized Now on to the food itself...we got the dressed burger, the napoleon, and sweet potato fries. The flavors of the toppings were interesting, and definitely had potential. The problem was--the burger patty on both the dressed and the napoleon were extremely overcooked and very dry. The egg on the dressed burger was not runny, and the yolk was dry (almost like a hard boiled egg). The sweet potato fries were tasty, but the serving was small, and they were bone cold. For $50, I was pretty disappointed. I won't be returning.

Suzanne F.

Yelp
it's always a treat on the way home from Redondo Beach Pier. No matter what is ordered it's always delicious. It was the cash burger with truffle parmesan fries!

Rowena C.

Yelp
Wow!! Best burger I've had in years! I ordered the classic Burger with an onion ring on the side and it was perfectly cooked, delicious with so much flavor. I love their onion rings and next time I'll order at least two, one for the burger and one to eat on the side. The batter on the onion ring is awesome, it's hard to find onion rings that are NOT breaded these days. I also opted to order the edamame instead of the fries and they did not disappoint, they were nice and firm, The sauce on it is delicious, has good balance between Sweet and savory with a slight kick. I also really appreciate that they Followed directions and cut my burger in half as requested. The order was perfect and warm when it arrived, good job guys!!

Chris D.

Yelp
Skip, Debbie and Michelle are very friendly and always have something nice to say. They engage in conversations to get to know their customers.

Maruko X.

Yelp
Ambiance: outdoor dining only, limited private parking lot, shared the entrance with liquor store, where you go in the place the order and make the payment, the outside window is for pickup only Service: about twenty minute waiting time, friendly but forgetful, was told the ketchup sauce was included in the packet, but actually not, had to go back and grad it Food: simple menu items, the most popular burger is the Dressed NAPOLEON - **** Braised Short Rib, Bacon, Spring Mix, Caramelized Onion, American, Cheddar, Smoked Gouda, Truffle Parmesan Fries, Fried Egg, Korean Aioli, Tomato Jam, the most deluxe version with everything, fresh beef patty, rich in flavors, the bacon was burnt, other than that, all good, recommend Truffle Parmesan Fries - *** savory flavors of Truffles and Parmesan cheese Price: large portions and acceptable prices for the quality, about $20 per person

Shannon H.

Yelp
Our 3rd time here from out of state. We didn't take pictures this time because we were so hungry and just ravaged our delicious food. It's greasy, but delicious. It's overflowing, but you can do it. It's packed with flavors, but you'll be wishing you had more room in your stomach to keep going. The service is quick ordering then you listen for your number as they shout it out the building window. Ambiance is what you make of it... order inside the convenience store, then find a picnic table out by the road. The Standing Room is our go-to when in LA. Oh, there's a vintage clothing shop next door that we got to walk around while digesting all that yummy food.

Paul K.

Yelp
It's a kitchen inside a liquor store but the food is really, really good. Not exactly cheap but good portions.

Gabriel N.

Yelp
Decent. They give a lot of fries so the upgrade would be worth it. I would come back. In-n-out is still better though, burger-wise.

Gary H.

Yelp
Good burgers but if you want one, you have to be patient. They don't set any records for putting out the orders and I'm not sure if it is worth the wait. I enjoyed my burger for sure. I had the extra spicy Chance. The patty was well cooked and had good flavour. The topings were generous and lots of spice! Cheese oozing out as was the onions and other stuff A good patty to bun ratio so that was nice to see. I had the parm fries. Beware, if you order them, be sure you have some help as the order is huge. Very tasty but I think they needed a bit of salt to round out the flavour and cut through the cheese a bit. Good burger, good fries, sloooow preparation and a parking lot that is a nightmare. Grab a brewski next door at the liquour store and they have a couple of park benches outside if you want to much away as soon as you get your feast.

Michael T.

Yelp
Great Burger-Napoleon without the fries. Little Pricey but worth it. Lots of great places for burgers in area, but these guys have many unique ones to try. Highly recommend

Lida G.

Yelp
Hole in the wall. located at a convenient/ liquor store. I had the cash burger, which was delicious and little kick to it. Plus the Truffle Parmesan Fries. Yummy too and they weren't stingy with the fries. Will go back again

Josie Z.

Yelp
OVERHYPED. This place was underwhelming. Was disappointed considering the built-up expectation I had from these amazing yelp reviews. I finally got my long awaited burger and it unfortunately was over cooked and LACKED SEASONING. I had to add salt. There is no reason why these burgers you order in a liquor store should be so expensive. It cost me $17 for a burger that didn't even come with fries, a drink, or any kind of formal service or captivating ambiance.

Al ..

Yelp
Amazing burger and fries. Huge, tasty, and filling. I tried one for the first time after my son recommended it. Can't go wrong. I'm looking forward to trying one of the burgers with peppers.

Katrina S.

Yelp
Customer service is terrible. Garrett had a terrible attitude while answering the phone I'm hoping he was just baked as hell on the phone instead of being rude lol. When I arrived at the store the ginger guy and long hair blonde guy attitudes just weren't it either. I'm hoping his name is actually Garrett & not him lying about it lol Food is good though
