The Stanford Park Hotel

I just wrapped up a 17-night stay at the Stanford Park Hotel, which has truly become my home away from home over the last three years. I used to stay at the Four Seasons Palo Alto, but found it a bit too corporate, or the Mandarin Oriental in SF, but the traffic eventually became a dealbreaker. It’s the total package: the location is unbeatable, the rooms are classically decorated, and the property itself feels like a sanctuary with its lush gardens and "hideaway" pool. That atmosphere is only made better by the people—Crystal in management, Ahmed, CC and others at the front desk, and the lively restaurant, housekeeping and bell service e teams. They don't just provide a service; they make you feel truly welcome. What more could you ask for?

The heating worked perfectly, and the room was spacious and comfortable. I loved the bathroom—with two sinks—and really appreciated having both a couch and a desk to work and dine in the room. The hotel restaurant was great as well. The complimentary treats in the lobby were an especially nice touch. Overall, a very pleasant stay. I’d definitely come back. One thing I would have loved is a more casual, affordable dining option in addition to the fine-dining restaurant.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Favorite Hotel in Palo Alto!||||My husband and I come to Palo Alto several times a year, and Stanford Park Hotel is hands down our favorite place to stay. It strikes that rare balance of comfort, service, and atmosphere that makes each visit feel like a small getaway.||||From the moment you walk in, the reception area—with its cozy fireplace—sets the tone. It’s warm, inviting, and always makes us feel welcome. The reception staff are consistently friendly and helpful.||||The guest rooms are large, comfortable, and well-appointed. The bathrooms are particularly impressive: two sinks in separate areas (perfect for two people getting ready in the morning), plus great showers and plenty of counter space. Everything is always exceptionally clean.||||We also love the thoughtful complimentary touches: great coffee in the morning, bottled water (in cans), and the complimentary bikes for exploring Stanford or Palo Alto. The courtyard is beautiful and such a treat when the California weather cooperates. Free and plentiful parking is another perk that makes logistics effortless.||||The on-site Menlo Tavern is wonderful—whether for breakfast or for meals with family and friends. Good food, attentive service, and a relaxed atmosphere.||||All in all, Stanford Park Hotel delivers time after time. It’s become our go-to hotel in the area and we always look forward to returning.

Our Event Team has had the pleasure of hosting our high-level executive attendees at the Stanford Park Hotel on several occasions, and each experience has been excellent. The property has an elegant, warm feel, with exceptional customer service, great food and restaurant ambience, lovely and comfortable interior decor, beautiful grounds, and well-appointed, comfortable rooms. Our guest and I always enjoy our stay. The hotel's meeting space, though I have not had the opportunity to use it, is very nice and can accommodate groups of different sizes for any occasion, showcasing the hotel's versatility. I am excited for my next visit in Spring 2026 and the opportunity to work with Lauren Embry, Senior Events Services Manager, and all the kind and helpful hotel staff. If you like 5-Star properties and amazing service, I highly recommend the Stanford Park Hotel for pleasure, business, and events.

My partner and I stayed at the SPH for the first time last weekend (Nov. 22, 2025). We were immensely impressed with the spacious lobby, Stanford-supportive atmosphere, and comfortable room. We must single out for mention the front-desk staff member Ahmet, who displayed true hospitality throughout our stay. Plus, he was admirably effective in helping us secure future bookings. Great place, great people, and hey--we went back the very next weekend!

Our team recently had a wonderful experience with Maria and her team. We held a nonprofit event, and they were responsive and helpful every step of the way. They were flexible with us as we confirmed meals and guest count and were able to work within our budget as a small organization.||||I highly recommend the Stanford Park Hotel for its classy atmosphere and excellent customer service. We have another event there booked in March 2026, and we cannot wait to work with Maria and her team again.

We organized an event for ~80 out-of-town guests at The Stanford Park Hotel a few weeks ago. We hosted a spectacular meal on Friday night in their beautiful Woodside room, and we hosted a delicious brunch in the cozy Stanford room where we took advantage of the adjoining outdoor patio on that beautiful morning. The food (both taste and presentation) and the service at both events were outstanding. I’ve hosted many events through the years — and this hotel is by far the easiest to work regarding event planning and reserving hotel rooms for guests. The staff is very responsive and eager to help. They make things easy and they don’t nickel and dime you on every request. The team went above and beyond throughout the entire planning process and also during the weekend of the events. They made us feel like royalty and we couldn’t be more pleased with our choice of this venue. We highly recommend it to anyone planning a social or business event in the Bay Area! Oh- and it’s not just the event team that hit it out of the park — the servers and bartenders at their restaurants have so much personality and make the entire experience special for everyone. Our guests enjoyed the hotel so much that most of them never ventured out to other restaurants but instead took advantage of the outdoor dining option, the bar dining option, and the indoor restaurant. Each space is beautiful, comfortable, and unique and provides a wonderful experience. We are locals and dine at these places more often than anywhere else in the Bay Area. Their menu offers something for everyone (and also changes periodically so it’s nice to try new offerings in addition to our old favorites). If you are looking for a dining experience — or a hotel for a staycation or vacation — look no further! The rooms are comfortable, luxurious, and they are far from the boring chain-hotel experience.

Very glad I made the choice to stay at the Stanford Park Hotel as it is the highest caliber of comfort. I have to give a shout out to Ahmet at the front desk because he made sure my stay was top quality, he is the role model of hospitality. Made sure to answer all of my sightseeing questions around the Stanford area and gave me a wide range of recommendations that made my stay better. Very kind and friendly he made sure my needs were met. Rooms and service is high in quality and location wise it’s great as it sits in the middle of San Francisco and San Jose. Highly recommend if you are planning a business trip or traveling around.

Attention to detail stands out among many positives at this hotel. From the beautiful holiday decorated lobby to the simple, understated room this hotel checks off all the boxes. The bathroom is uncluttered and sparkling clean. Bed is comfortable and even though our room faced the El Camino (a very busy street) the double windows kept outside noise to a minimum. Staff at the top of their game in every department. I should note that the previous night I stayed in a "5 star" hotel in San Francisco which, by comparison, wasn't even close to the Stanford Park.

Very pleased with the experience at Stanford Park Hotel. Stayed 8 days in January. Room was comfortable for 3 people. Two double beds, separate bathroom and additional sink was nice so the shower/toilet could be used and have the extra sink separate. Mini fridge was helpful, table and chairs and comfy chair in room. The bed mattress and blankets were stiff and uncomfortable. Complimentary cookies at the front desk daily. On-site dining, outdoor, Fire pit, pool. Easy parking. Accessible to all the great downtown Menlo Park locations. The prices are higher than I expected.

We stayed at the Stanford Park Hotel for a family celebration in Palo Alto. What an absolutely charming place. It was right by campus and was really easy to navigate from. The restaurant on site was excellent and there were even business access places that made those unexpected work moments not only possible but easy! Great staff. Really, can't say enough positive things about it.

This hotel May seem nice on the inside and on the outside but when it comes to rudeness they are very rude to people they are rude to their employees I have been a guest there and I've stayed there I've heard them yell at gas upper management I've heard them disrespect their employees upper management and it is sad for a lovely Hotel to put on a fake persona please be very careful the food is overpriced at the Menlo tavern it's very nice very intimate been to better places in the area

Loved the quiet dining room! Just wish the 2 comfortable chairs both faced the fireplace.

The good - nice boutique hotel, large rooms, good service, large bathroom with glass door walk-in shower, double sinks, robes, bedroom slippers, live music in courtyard in evenings, freshly baked cookies at front desk each evening, nice courtyard/in-ground spa, nice bar, interesting art depicting notable Stanford alumni, easy walking distance to quaint area of Palo Alto with lots of restaurants/bars/coffee shop. The bad - not enough lighting in bedroom, no hand held shower, small pool, room safe is upright which reduce space vs not upright. The ugly - busy railroad track right behind hotel with trains running all day long.

Have used their services for a few things, Had my baby shower here... nice experience working with Audrey. However, it's super expensive and they charge for eveeeeery dang thing. Lovely space, ample parking, fancy, looks good to the eye, delicious food but way expensive. Not sure Id plan a party there again. Lunch: lunch portions are good, food is delicious, staff is nice and depending on what you get the prices are not tooooo bad. Birthday meal: fyi if you don't order dessert and pay an arm/leg for it, they won't sing for you. Even if you made reservations specifying it's your moms birthday. They do have a beautiful location, flowers everywhere, beautiful bathrooms, plenty of parking... would definitely recommend you try them out for lunch. The pulled chicken with Brie is my favorite, with the truffle fries which you have to pay extra for.

Consistently a solid experience: relaxing vibe, excellent food and drinks, great outdoor space with fire pits and live music, welcoming and professional staff (Ahmet helped out a lot recently at the front desk). I come here frequently for work and it's always grounding. Occasionally I bring my family too and they're super accommodating with young kids. This remains my go-to.

Lovely boutique feel, they give you a glass of wine at check-in; always great room service food, love it here.

Gorgeous, well-appointed boutique hotel. Stayed here during my daughter's equestrian competition at nearby Woodside Park. Room was beautiful. Love the decor...including random sitting areas on the landings/hallways throughout, with books, and comfy seating. Warm cookies served in the lobby in the evening is a nice touch. We enjoyed a meal in the atrium one night--everything was fabulous--especially the salmon. I highly recommend this venue is you are visiting the area!

I love performing there for dinner on Wednesday nights and Sunday brunches. The food and drinks are amazing. The staff is constantly working hard to please everyone. Love this place!

I have stayed at the Stanford Park hotel multiple times now. Every time I am there, I get excellent service and everyone is extremely friendly. My most recent stay, I left an item behind in the room. Christine went above and beyond and made sure my package was shipped out quickly. She was extremely easy to work with and super friendly. She was great at communicating along the way as well. Coordinating events with this hotel, specifically Maria is always a breeze. Maria makes the clients feel welcome and supported throughout the experience.

The property itself is beautiful. The rooms, the decor, and the overall vibe is a lovely place to come relax. Most of the staff were lovely and approachable. A good order was incorrectly put in and was taken care of and the staff was understanding. One of the front desk staff was rude turning our check-in progress. She appeared to be a manager or high up positioned as she was asked to come out and support (line got long) and was observably annoyed by this. The other front desk staff were otherwise lovely and so helpful. The fitness center could use some love. Has some odd smells, the treadmills and bikes need some work (made odd sounds, gears weren't working). Pool does also not offer service which stinks. You can order take out food and bring it to the pool but it would much more convenient and probably profitable to have service there (we decided to just sneak in alcohol). Bar is also a great place to hang out late night. Service was not great (low staffed) which was out of their control but it took a while to get drinks/water. Lovely property with lovely service - for the most part. Other properties have better amenities around in my opinion.

The rooms here are enormous. It's a much larger hotel than I expected from the front. My room, on the third floor, had this fantastic cathedral ceiling that really made it feel super spacious. Downside is that I could definitely hear the train from my room. On weekends, the last train is at 1am and the earliest train is at 5am. Luckily, I had earplugs.

Like a lot of people, my traveling took a back seat during the pandemic. Because of that, my points have been used on staycations and I thought I'd use one night here. It's a lovely hotel and the furnishings are very handsome (idk, I literally said that out loud when I saw one of the lounge areas trying to find our room). The courtyard is also a very cool and relaxing area to hang around and chit chat while you nibble on some snacks or while you drink your free coffee, tea and pastries. The bed was a bit stiff BUT the bathroom was my bathroom goals. ROAM toiletries smell amazing! Front desk staff is ok, the person checking me in wasn't very friendly and she didn't bother to introduce herself or I didn't bother to get her name, I really just wanted to get to my room. I noticed how friendly and warm her coworker was. She took the time to say hello and chat with a few guests, she even complimented my hair. All my interactions with said person checking me in weren't warm at all and she didn't even bother to tell me about the free cookies in the evening or snacks and water in the room. I was a bit peeved when I found out AFTER purchasing snacks in the lobby. Also, when I asked for hotel slipper (I forgot mine, usually I'm not this unprepared!) she had to mention "well, I only have one pair" - ok, it's just for me, I asked for one. Is it because I booked third party? If so, I mean, money is money... Anyway, I'm leaving this at 4 stars because the hotel itself is wonderful. It was a nice home away from home. Clean, quiet and relaxing plus it's within walking distance from the shopping center and downtown Palo Alto.

The hotel is very high end. $$$$ So the things you expect to look pristine, do (ie the entrance hallways etc.). The hotel doesn't seem to live up to the Stanford standard or high end standards. General. The property is well maintained and seemingly close to things but you will need transportation. There is a cozy ambience and a mild mannered (passive) staff culture. They seem to give you what you came for and not much more. IE, no offers to help with concierge type services. I would have appreciated a little more customer service. I tend to be low maintenance. There's free coffee but it's not great and they don't have fat free or dairy free milk. Check-in. Very easy. My room was ready early when I arrive. Front desk was polite and professional but didn't greet me until I said something. Despite my room being ready, checkin took a little longer than preferred. Valet didn't offer to help me with my bags. This passive customer service was a theme for my few days' stay. Common areas. For the most part beautiful! The decor is modern but still feels very 'old money'. The outdoor lounge is scattered with cushioned lounge sofas and fire pits for cool nights. They host events that end at 10pm. Once it closes they send you to the bar but last call was at 10 pm also. The carpets in the hallways could use a good cleaning and the brass and lights in the elevators were dusty. Gym. The gym is filled with options: treadmills and free weights. They provide towels, earphones and water. There are also TVs to distract you from running. I chose to run to a park/trail that's about 1/4 mile outside the property. Much better option. Pool. One of the best features of the weather cooperates. Large pool area with jacuzzis and pool house for lounging with watch the tv or in my case working. Very relaxing and secluded from non pool goers. Very clean and well kept. Room: This was the most disappointing part of my experience. Hence the mediocre review. The hotel did not inform me on their website or when I arrived that there is a train that blows its horn as the passes the hotel (all night long)! Often times, the train passed more than once an hour. My colleague's bed actually shook! Horrible night's sleep! When this was addressed to the manager (you should let people know), he told my colleague that he's used to it and shrugged his shoulders. Huh? Yeah! No empathy for the guest but he said it with a smile. In my room, some surfaces were dusty. The bathroom shower was not cleaned properly. My shower water didn't drain well. The bathroom trash has a paper in it and there was a toothpick behind it. There were fingerprints on the windows. The exhaust fan did not work. I mentioned this to the cleaning staff and no one ever came to check it. For the price you would expect that they inspect the rooms before a guest checks in. The ice machine is impossible to find. So you have to ask. They know that it's difficult to find but again they don't offer more than what is necessary so you have to ask if you need ice. Checking out. Checkout was quicker than check in. On the way to the lobby, the cleaning lady, seeing me coming down the hallway with two suitcases, walks into a guest room, leaving a large laundry bin and her cleaning cart blocking the hallway. As I tried to pass the room she was in, I tried to signal her through the propped door to move the cart. She was on the phone and ignored me. She looked at me as I moved the items myself, never coming out of the room to help, offer an apology or anything else. She simply continued her conversation as if I was not there. Huh? Yeah! When I left through the hotel exit, I struggled to get my bags through the door (not automatic doors). The valet stood at his station and watched me as the doors banged against my bags. No offer to help me find a ride to the airport. Conclusion. Not the level of service that I expected. I'd like to give it another try but there are too many other options in the area that don't have trains running passed all night. Stanford's standards are higher than this.

Hotel was nice, but service could really use some work. I booked a room for 5 days knowing I was going to check in early on the 2nd (hence booking the room for the night before enabling me to check in the morning of the second day). I called the hotel to let them know this was my plan and they assured me that was fine. When I got to the hotel, there was no record of my call and therefore they charged me a no show fee. They had also canceled my entire reservation assuming I wasn't showing up at all (I guess courtesy calls to see if you are still staying with them don't exist?). Also, the woman at the front desk who was "helping" me made me feel like it was my fault and that I was inconveniencing her. Luckily they were able to reinstate my room for the remaining days I would be there, but none of this should have happened given the fact that I called ahead of time and communicated my plans. I have also tried calling a few times thereafter to ask for a receipt and it has been very difficult getting a hold of someone. I have had to call multiple times to get an answer and then the connection was awful. So all in all, hotel was nice, but service not so much.

Comfortable and clean hotel with a great location! We've stayed here over 10 times when visiting campus for Alumni events and football games. The rooms here are always clean. We haven't been here for a couple years and noticed how the room we were in had an updated bathroom. New vanities and shower! Nice and modern without getting away from the rest of the hotel's theme. Beds are perfect and pillows are not flimsy. Courtyard area is landscaped nicely and the pool looked inviting despite the cooler weather. Overall, I really like the decorations and style here. We checked in at about 10:30 pm and the front desk had saved us several chocolate chip cookies, just like we had asked! The cookies are AMAZING. Employees were all very nice and made our stay fun. Looking forward to coming back!

They offer special rates for Stanford/LPCH families. We stayed here for 2 nights at an excellent discounted rate, and the staff was very accommodating. They gave us shuttle rides (in an escalade) to and from the hospital. We stayed here the night of my daughter's liver transplant, and celebrated in their restaurant that night. I hadn't slept well in months, and not at all the previous week. I think I got my best night's sleep ever here. The hotel is beautiful. They provide free snacks & voss water. They have room service from the restaurant (which serves delicious food, by the way). The courtyard is nice at night. They're busiest on Wednesdays. My only complaint is that they misquoted their rates a couple times.

Cozy, homey, charming hotel with a ton of personality, embracing its Stanford alum portrait paintings, coupled with farmhouse/mid-century modern touches throughout the hotel. It feels more like staying at a high end inn or manor and not a hotel. It's a hop and skip away from "downtown" Palo Alto. The room was spacious with a nice marble shower, a sizable bathroom, and a separate sink outside. They also had a little snack basket with two bottles of water, pita chips, Oreos, and a granola bar, all of which was complementary. A really nice touch. We had a couple of glitches but each time the hotel was responsive. First, we couldn't get room keys at first because the entire room system was down. This only delayed us by five minutes but they offered us complimentary wine anyway. Then, when we pointed out that they hadn't shared shuttle info for the wedding we were attending (we had told them upon check in that we were with that specific wedding) they more than made it up to us by giving us a gift certificate for breakfast the next morning and we had a truly lovely breakfast the next day. I only wish we could have stayed here another night when we weren't with the wedding so we could really experience the place and take advantage of its pool (though it was a tad chilly) and other perks.

One of best hotel ever I've stayed. I love small boutique hotel. The location is great, right in front of Stanford shopping center, walkable to University Avenue and Stanford University. But my main excitement is not for the location, their customer service is great. room is great, and fitness center is more than perfect! If I need to travel that area, definitely will return back to the Stanford Park Hotel. Won't regret especially if you plan to use the fitness center.

We stayed here In September a Thursday thur Saturday. My husband had surgery at Stanford Hospital and my daughter and I stayed at this beautiful Hotel since we live an hour and a half away....This is a very clean hotel with all the amenities you'll need! The Tavern is another 5 stars!! Amazing food and customer service!!! The bar has a friendly bartender that went beyond to make you happy!! They had a live band on Thursday and Friday evening. You could enjoy dinner on the gorgeous patio or inside the bar area. We ordered room service for breakfast and it was the best I've had in a long time!! Our room was cleaned and refreshed with clean towels! If you're looking for a wonderful place to stay I highly recommend this place!!!!

This is a lovely hotel in every way. We were greeted upon arrival to a gorgeous lobby and welcomed with warm chocolate chip cookies for guests and excellent customer service. The rooms were spacious, beautiful, and full of amenities, and the location was very convenient. I would have given our experience five stars anyway but I was blown away when the staff went above and beyond after we checked out to retrieve an item we had left in the room. This will be my go-to hotel whenever I'm in the area. HIGHLY recommend!

Really lovely place and staff. Iconic location steeped in history. Beautiful food and cocktails. Pool is warmer than rosewood although the jacuzzi was under construction. Yes they have a bit of a limited staff now but they're doing their very best and the staff is truly caring. Highly recommend. Just don't necessarily expect to be waited on hand and foot.

I love this hotel. When I checked in, a very polite front desk clerk upgraded my room to one that had a view of the courtyard. We took the elevator to the second floor, although there is a beautiful staircase that leads up to it as well. The interior actually reminded me of scenes from the movie Titanic. So elegant and tastefully designed. A 4 star restaurant and coffee bar awaits you in the lobby. The room was very nice. Comfortable double queen sized beds. Large bathtub and beautiful well lit vanities. Lots if drawers, coffee maker, iron and ironing board, complimentary snacks and a beautiful view of the courtyard. I could go on and on. I'll stop here and end this review by saying love, love, love this hotel. I highly recommend it and will stay here when I'm back in town.

This place is very overpriced for what you get. Although, it was clean, the service was just ok. There were no luggage carts available, and no one took the initiative to find one for us - we were just told "sorry" We had to carry everything ourselves (which was a little difficult because we had hanging garments as well as bags and suitcases) This may have made more sense if the hotel was busy but it wasn't. The lobby was empty at 3:pm on a Friday...

Stayed here for 1 night for college tours. Very convenient location to Stanford (basically a couple blocks away from the Stanford Shopping Center). Very clean, spacious rooms, nice quite ambience. Enjoyed our stay here and will stay in the future.

Near train tracks but I could barely hear anything. Clean room. Nice place! Definitely recommend.

Very nice, but expensive, hotel in Menlo Park. Good location, very nice reception with an open fire spreading warmth and atmosphere. Highly qualified personnel at the reception who organized both the "house" car taking us to a meeting, and a limousine service (Sergey, great Russian driver) taking us to Sacramento. We had a very nice dinner - pasta and an excellent burger. Had a beer in the very cozy bar afterwards. In all, a very comfortable stay which is truly recommended!

My daughter and I stayed here in July along with some friends. Charana gave our party over the top hospitality and service. She went out of her way to make sure we were 100% satisfied. She is very personable, happy and willing to accommodate any need we had during our week stay. This property is so very lucky to have her as an employee. Thanks again Charana! We will back next summer.

I stayed here when I got to tag along to my husband's business trip last year. Full disclosure - I have no idea what the room costs. But for what I imagine is a splurge, it's a great experience! The ambience is very nice-- the surroundings are classical and traditional in a pretty stark contrast from the very modern surroundings in Silicon Valley. The room was large, very clean and very comfortable. The courtyard is a lovely place to relax and read (or socialize) and was my favorite place to spend the morning. Usually with a coffee and pastry from their complimentary coffee service, or a not-free-but-delicious cappuccino from the Menlo Tavern bar. Meals at the restaurant were great, too. Personnel are friendly and helpful. The pool is comfortable and quite pretty, if an oddly long walk from the lobby/elevators. They had a borrow-a-bicycle program I did not take advantage of, but the hotel is an easy walk to downtown Menlo Park and the ritzy Stanford mall, and a doable if more ambitious walk to the Stanford campus itself. It is unfortunately close to the train tracks, but I'm a light sleeper and it didn't bother me much at all. I'd be very happy to find myself here again.

Excellent experience at the SPH. Beautiful grounds, big comfortable rooms ( I got to try several of them as I purchased a 14 day package due to unexpected work that had to be done at my house. I liked all of the rooms especially the courtyard king fireplace). What made my stay especially great was the great service. Dan Who worked the front desk during most of my stay made sure I was well taken care off. I highly recommend this hotel if you are local or visiting the area. Some nice touches are s'mores by the fire pits in the courtyard, coffee service in the morning with pastries, wine service in the evening, hot cider during the day,great fitness room and bikes. The hotel is walking distance from the Stanford mall, downtown Palo Alto and allied arts.

This hotel is under construction so it's hard to know what it's like at full potential. The room was nice - comfy bed, lots of little touches that are wasted on me but give the illusion that the exorbitant price is worth it. There was a scale in the bathroom which I never appreciate. ;) My favorite parts of this hotel experience were the patio seating and the restaurant. The patio is a lovely little grotto type area behind the hotel. I had a glass of (pricey) wine there one evening. I had dinner at the Menlo Bar/Bistro and had a bowl of the best Mac n cheese ever.

The service staff here is amazing, very nice and super thoughtful. The hotel itself has a classic look, but everything is super clean. There are complimentary snacks and Voss water. Bathroom/Showers: 8.5/10, Very clean and contains all the basic necessities. Your typical shower, nothing super fancy. The complimentary soaps are by William Roam. Bedroom: 8/10, Not a modern looking hotel, but everything is nicely furnished and kept clean nevertheless. The bedsheets are not the most comfortable (I prefer thicker blankets) but still keep you warm. There's a television but it looks a bit dated.

rooms are lovely, food at restaurant pretty good. BUT the service is pretty poor: front desk acts like it's doing you a favor when you need things, and there is LOUD music every night until 9pm - WAY too loud to work or sleep anywhere in hotel, and zero apologies. Some of us are on East coast time and that is LATE - plus who ever heard of daily parties so loud you can't talk on the phone or hear TV in your own room - except in vacation destinations. Also, the whole property has smell of urine; some sort of drainage problem it seems. Regret booking a long stay here.

You will enjoy ur stay here. It is a nice hotel with most of what u r looking for. Business, they have many places to meet small and large groups. 2 or 3 people. No problem. Many desks set up through out hotel and many charger set ups. Pleasure. Right down the street is Stanford Shopping Center with loads of great stores. Really a friendly atmosphere with, did I say loads of stores. The hotel is very locally situated as u r close to so much. Only bad thing I find unacceptable is ur morning coffee u prepare in ur room they only provide paper cups. Not important to u. Then it will b a 5 star to u. But I want my 1st cup of coffee for the day in a classic coffee cup/mug. Not paper and certainly not in a 5 star hotel. But great 4 star.

We love staying at this hotel when we are in town visiting family. Rooms are well appointed with comfortable beds and bedding, big windows, and a large desk perfect for remote work options. The bathrooms have been recently remodeled and have a well thought out layout with split vanities allowing two people to get ready at the same time. There is a small gym down the end of the hall that has all the equipment needed for a great workout. When the weather is warm there is no place better than the courtyard for dinner or cocktails with friends! This is our go-to hotel and perfect place to spend a week when we are in town.

I absolutely LOVED this hotel. I was here for a few day meeting and EVERYONE at the hotel I came in contact with was fabulous. The food, service, attention to detail, responsiveness....everything fantastic. Hats off to management, hiring and training teams. In world today w labor and supply shortages its especially impressive! I would highly recommend staying here.

When you're spending over a thousand bucks for a two-night hotel stay, you expect a high standard of excellence. The Stanford Park Hotel certainly didn't disappoint. Our room was spacious, quiet, and comfortable, with all the usual amenities found in a luxury hotel. Business travelers will appreciate the large, well-lit desk with conveniently placed electric and USB outlets. Easily accessible HDMI and VGA cables allow you to connect a laptop to the big screen TV. And you don't need an instruction manual to confidently set the analog alarm clock! None of this would matter without a well-trained staff. I'm pleased to say that everyone we interacted with seemed genuinely interested in our well being... even those who don't regularly come into contact with guests. We used the convenient free shuttle (a luxury Cadillac SUV) several times to travel back-and-forth to Stanford Hospital. Unfortunately, we couldn't take advantage of the outdoor courtyard due to the weather. The fresh-baked cookies at night were a nice touch. The only disappointing part of our stay was the restaurant, where the food and service definitely weren't of the same high calibre as the hotel itself. And maybe one of these days, hotels will end the nonsensical practice of adding a mandatory "resort fee" (or similarly-named surcharge) to the daily room rate. I recommend the Stanford Park Hotel... especially if you're traveling on business.

This Hotel is upscale and many people know this buy their staffing is poorly unprofessional in many ways!!! This hotel had offered me a position for front desk but I turned it down! My interest was house attendant for my own reasons. After speaking a second time to the GM (Abi) he said, clearly i should not to go to house attendant, I didn't belong there. I belong at the front desk! I have over 25 years in Hospitality and never has anyone treated me like there's only a "type" that should be house attendants. I have front desk, concierge and beverage experience for over 25 years. If anyone chooses to choose what role they want to work in, it shouldn't matter race, or if you only speak one language! (SPANISH) They're HR department a woman named Yesania hired me for front desk.. But my request, I wanted house attendant.. I was scheduled to go in and speak to someone in House Addendants department only to get there and the person for that department wasn't there. I sat in a room while this man Rocky told me to speak to Yesania again. I was told to sit again in another room, only to have Yesania tell me she couldn't talk to me and gave me her card. Not only did they waste my time, but they are so very unprofessional!! To judge someone by their character, race, language to where they think their better suited to work is WRONG!!! Do not work for this place, they judge & want to do whatever works for them. I was born in Palo Alto & I speak both fluent English & Spanish!! I can not believe how I was treated so rudely, unkindly and very unprofessional!! To add - they didn't offer me a position at all. A friend applied & gave her a offer after telling me they had filled all positions!! Lastly I spoke on what on how I felt, they ignored me!!! 03/15/2022 Staff is HORRIBLE!!

Great facility and very convenient if you are visiting in Menlo Park. The parking is simple and the grounds are private and comfortable. The rooms are spacious and beds luxurious. The bar is really expensive and the shots are metered out so if you want to taste the alcohol you better order a double and plan on spending 25 bucks. The coffee bar in the AM is on point and room service was fantastic. Punctual, warm and prepared to the specification. I think my room charge was $179 on the weekend. I highly recommend staying at this facility.

This hotel is my favorite when needing to stay near Stanford. I've stayed there many times over the years. It's expensive, so I don't recommend it for anyone on a budget. But if you're willing to pay for accommodations that are almost 5-star then I think you'll be satisfied. The good: - Car charging stations and plenty of free convenient parking. - Friendly helpful staff. - Free candy and a glass of wine in the lobby. - Free fresh-baked chocolate chip cookies in the lobby at 9PM. - Rooms are stocked daily with two water bottles and three snacks (usually chips, M&Ms, and a granola bar). - Their food is good. - No more room minibars, but fridges remain, which are good for keeping leftovers. - Live music every night in the courtyard. - Nice gym and pool. - Other amenities as listed at their web site. The bad (some old, some newly observed during my latest stay): - Like more and more airlines and hotels, they play the "fee" game, and charge a daily $20 "amenity fee" instead of listing a higher room rate. Plus, the fee is taxable, so you're actually paying $22.40 a day above your room rate. - Room service also hits you for a $3.50 "delivery charge" and 18% required "gratuity", so a $15 breakfast plate actually totals $22.91 after tax. - The lobby restrooms have been "under renovation" for at least a couple of years. - Free morning newspaper delivery to rooms has been discontinued. You can still pick up free papers, but for some reason they're on a table by the elevators in the north wing instead of in the lobby. - Bathrooms no longer include scales. The floor's tile grout is way overdue for a scrubbing. - The hotel is along the railroad on one side and El Camino along the other side, but rooms have dual windows separated by a gap of about 4", so traffic noise isn't a problem, but the gaps aren't cleaned of leaves and debris as frequently as they need to be. - Our wing's ice machine had obvious mold, and is probably way overdue for a thorough cleaning. - No microwaves. - The lobby candy bowl of taffy had too many pieces oozing out of their wrappers, turning multiple pieces into stuck-together wads. - The TVs don't include any on-screen guide of what's playing. Channels change slowly, so channel surfing takes forever. - The front doors are classy but heavy. Doormen are often on duty, but when they aren't and you have a lot of luggage the door handicap buttons are necessary for opening/closing. The indoor egress button was reliable, but the outdoor ingress button was flakey and sometimes failed. If they improve their checklists and catch the above, I would give them five stars.

Incredible hotel! From the moment you walk in, you can tell it's a special place. The ambiance is unlike any other hotel I've stayed at. The artwork and photography throughout add such charm and celebrates the history and achievements of so many Stanford greats, providing a strong connection to the area. The restaurant and bar (both indoors and outdoor) are spectacular! The entire staff are so friendly and make you feel like a part of their extended family from the moment you check-in. I felt so welcome and taken care of our entire stay. The hotel room was very spacious and I was blown away by the cleanliness! I highly recommend this hotel and will never stay anywhere else when I'm in the area!

I am giving this place another review! This place impress me every time I come here. It is nice to come here Friday/Saturday Night due to the big crowd!.

Stanford Park is more than a hotel. I have to say that because it's also a restaurant and a bar. The restaurant serves excellent food that is carefully prepared. The service is terrific. And the food selection is always pleasant. The bartender sometimes delivers the drinks around the bar area and after a few days he remembers your order. I have recommended this hotel to many corporate out of town guests and my firm has booked people to stay for extended periods of time. The rooms are great. Not huge but very nicely designed and comfortable. But as a local resident, I sometimes enjoy visiting the hotel as a workplace for meetings and just as a quiet place to get somethings done. The hotel offers entertainment (music) on occasion. The outdoor patio is delightful and the weather is generally mild enough to sit outside and enjoy a drink or a meal.

We love this hotel! When we head to the Peninsula to see old friends or attending games at Stanford, we always stay here and are never disappointed. Ask for Matt Miller, guest relations manager. He is the best and will not disappoint.
