Absolutely fantastic dinner, not cheap but easy to see why this restaurant has a Michelin star. Bread with butters and foot long grissini were superb (omg, the roast chicken butter is to die for!) And things only got better. We enjoyed the house star dish of black pudding and foie gras, and a superb scallop starter with mango and lightly curried coronation sauce. Mains were excellent grouse and Venison with so much accomplishment demonstrated in these dishes as in other courses. We ended with the "black forest" dessert (excellent) and very tasty three ice creams, served in mini cones mounted in a ceramic stand. Everything was outstanding. 12.5% service charge brought total bill to £294, which included G & T, English sparkling rose, glass of Sauternes, glass of Alvarinho, half bottle of Crozes Hermitage (£37) and small glass of Banyuls. Memorable experience, thoroughly enjoyable.
