Dough Joy Plans a Doughnut Shop in Ballard | Eater Seattle

"A beloved Beacon Hill coffee shop, The Station pairs Fulcrum beans with breakfast items like biscuits smothered in chorizo gravy and has opened a second location in Columbia City; co-owner Luis Rodriguez complained about a slow permitting process but said, “It gives me a lot of pride and joy to be a Black and Brown business, hiring Black and Brown kids around our neighborhood and have our kids from these neighborhoods having a place where they can sit down.” He added, “They don’t have to buy anything, they can just come here and chill and relax and feel safe.”" - Harry Cheadle

Great, community-focused coffee shop! There’s plenty of seating and lots of natural light. An upside for me is that the seats are cushioned, so they are more comfortable to sit on. They also host community events like poetry slams and have a huge wall of flyers to find out about other events happening in the area. I tried the D’Angelo latte and it was perfectly balanced. It was a nice to sit and relax for a while.

I went for the first time with some friends during the Coffetón party, and we had such a great time! The atmosphere was super fun and welcoming. The coffee was delicious, and the empanadas were amazing. Recommended!

The Station over exceeded my expectations. I had decision fatigue so I let the bariste choose my drink, the choice was the D'Angelo. Soooo good! I had a working meet with a coworker, she got Drip Coffee. If you need a change of pace from working at home definitely check out The Station, you will not regret it. I promise you. When I come back, I definitely want to get food too!

This is a great place. The food is amazing, and it's owned by people of color. Really laid back and chill environment almost like your at home. I believe they have the best breakfast sandwich in the town, it's called the boss man, I highly recommend you trying it. My wife and I actually know the owners, and they are really great people. This is actually their second and newest location. They actually have another location, which is located in Beacon Hill. Amazing food, amazing environment, amazing people.

Swanky spot in Columbia City conviently located across from the light rail stop on MLK. Lots of room to sit and hang out, and the giant hand painted mural on the wall beckons you to have a seat and stay awhile. I loved the strawberry passionfruit gluten free pastry, and they had my favorite coconut syrup available for my latte! Few coffee shops offer it anymore. Took off a star because the music was getting to be a bit much, too crazy, too loud, other than that, awesome place!

The Station is one of my favorite coffee shops in the city! I love coming here to catch up with friends and work because of the great staff (shout out to Alisa, Jeremiah, Michael, Leona, and Luis!), coffee, sense of community, and music. It feels so homey, I’m here at least once a week. I also have severe food allergies and the station staff are so kind, attentive, and accommodating - I feel very safe here with my allergies. Thanks Station, love y’all! Get the d’angelo coffee, breakfast sandwich, and a country scone!

Updated 9/21/24 to include fall specialty drinks 🍁 — Such a great addition to our neighborhood! Great atmosphere, very laid back. Great selection of food and drinks. They also have speciality drinks (didn’t get a photo). Two gender neutral restrooms available. Free WiFi available. I got an iced Johnny’s mocha (raspberry and chocolate flavors) and my partner got a standard drip. We also split a cookie. We’ll be back!
