Stephan Pyles Shutters His Texas-Themed Uptown Restaurant | Eater Dallas

"After recently losing its culinary director and chef Graham Dodds, the hotel has launched a property-wide happy hour that applies to four of its six food-and-beverage outlets — Fine China, Scout, Bourbon & Banter, and Waterproof — with Monday–Friday 4–6 p.m. service offering half-off all food and drinks." - Amy McCarthy

I’ve had a fantastic experience at the Statler Apartments, and a big part of that is thanks to the amazing team here, especially Nathaneil, Rachel, and Linda. From day one, Nathaneil has gone above and beyond to ensure everything runs smoothly. He’s professional, friendly, and always quick to address any concerns. Rachel is incredibly welcoming and knowledgeable, she made the entire leasing process seamless and stress-free. And Linda brings such a warm, positive energy to the community; she’s always a pleasure to interact with. The team here truly cares about the residents and it shows in everything they do. The building itself is beautiful and well-maintained, but it’s the people who make it feel like home. Highly recommend the Statler Apartments!

UNACCEPTABLE EXPERIENCE WITH SECURITY DEPOSIT RETURN I'm extremely disappointed with the handling of our security deposit by this apartment complex. After completing our lease, it's been 8 months and we still haven't received our deposit back. Despite multiple attempts to reach out and we've been met with complete silence and a lack of responsiveness from the management. The lack of hospitality is appalling, and Rachel's unwelcoming attitude was just the beginning of our issues. She says we are not responsible for it. It's clear that they're taking advantage of tenants, possibly assuming that students like us won't take action. However, we're not going to let this slide. We're taking legal action to retrieve our $1800 deposit, and we've had to escalate the matter to the authorities. The experience has been frustrating and stressful, and I would not recommend this apartment complex to anyone. Until they improve their management and communication, I would advise others to steer clear. It’s not just for our flat. I heard from many of our friends with same issue which shows their negligence and WORST MANAGEMENT

I’ve been living here for over 6+ months and I can say I lived in many other apartment companies but Mrs. Linda and Mrs. Rachel are the specifically the reason I plan on staying here as long as permitted. They always work with me and are very lenient and personable representatives. Great people, great neighbors, great amenities where it always feels like a home. Best place hands down!!!

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. My sibling lives here and I came to visit from out of town for the first time and I was shocked! First of all, the lobby smells like a wet rag & human feces. The air conditioning in the lobbies does not work, which makes the smell even worse. I overheard the manager, Linda talking to other people (I’m assuming tenants) to ask them to leave positive reviews for a reduction in their rent. If all of that isn’t concerning to you, then the amount of vacancies should be an indication of how poorly managed this place is! Linda and Rachel, the property managers also do not respond to emails and it can take weeks for maintenance to come out to repair an issue. The place is literally a garbage dump and they don’t pick up or clean the common areas which is why everywhere smells awful. It’s very clear that living here is a health hazard. Stay away! Do not rent here unless you don’t mind living at a place that stinks and has roaches. Also, Linda and Rachel if you’re reading this review, my sibling will be filing a report to the county health inspector to inform them of these unacceptable living conditions

This place does have some downsides, like the elevator or AC occasionally breaking, but overall, it’s a decent apartment to live in. I have to mention how supportive and friendly the office staff are—especially Rachel. She’s not only warm, funny, friendly but also incredibly helpful with both my move-in and move-out. Thank you so much, Rachel!

The Statler is such a great place! The staff is so nice and treat you like family. They go above and beyond as much as they possibly can to make sure you and your loved ones are comfortable and make it feel like a actual home. I am glad I chose The Statler! Bonus is that it's in the middle of some amazing restaurants, entertainment, and shopping all within walking distance! Reading some of these reviews is really weird. How are you going to sit here and blame staff that go above and beyond for things that they have zero control over? Blaming office staff for your deposit? Right cause they control the money. Blaming office staff for the elevator repair taking forever? Where do you see "certified elevator repairman" anywhere in their office? and for the parking garage, that isn't owned by The Statler, do you want them to get hard hats and tools and go ask the construction people if they can help to make it speed up? By the way for those leaving reviews over security deposits welcome to ADULTING....security deposits are refunded if the apartment is left without any damages and you don't have a remaining rent balance! Why take it out on Linda and Rachel when they are just doing their job and don’t need to be talked about in a harmful, malicious way when they’re just doing their jobs!! Neither one are rude or disrespectful. Hell they go out of their way for everyone and try to work with every single resident. You probably didn’t get your security deposit back because you either didn’t pay the rent or you damaged the apartment which was taken out of your security deposit. Quit blaming the people trying to make your life seamless for things they have literally no control over.

I stayed at Statler for a year, and it was the worst experience I have ever had. The management is negligent, and complaints are often ignored. Pest Control: Our apartment was infested with cockroaches, and despite multiple complaints, nothing was done for months. I had to personally go to the leasing office before any action was taken, and even then, it took another two weeks because pest control only comes twice a month. Maintenance Issues: There were weeks when the AC or heater didn’t work, and reporting the issue was useless since nothing was addressed in a timely manner. Water Problems: We also faced recurring water issues, which made living there even more difficult. Unsafe Conditions: At one point, the cupboard above the washer and dryer collapsed, and even this serious issue was not handled immediately. Packages & Deliveries: The original package locker system was discontinued due to theft, replaced with a less reliable method requiring staff assistance. Staff were often unavailable, making it unclear when packages could actually be retrieved. It was always an issue to receive parcels or deliveries, adding constant frustration. Security Deposit & Management Behavior: We paid over $2,000 as a security deposit, and even after 8 months since moving out, we still haven’t received a penny back. On top of that, the manager, Linda, was consistently rude and arrogant, making interactions with management even more unpleasant. Overall: My experience at Statler was extremely disappointing. The lack of cleanliness, poor maintenance, delivery issues, unreturned deposits, and unprofessional management made living here very frustrating. I would strongly advise others to avoid this place.

Linda and Rachel are the absolute bomb. They give the best customer service out of anywhere I have ever lived. I would reccomend this place to anyone, very affordable, no issues with anything around the complex, and very luxury. Every time I have an issue they nip it in the bud. Whenever I need to get mail they have a deadline but are always flexible with me. This place is always pristine and the lobby and mezzanine club room is super sick, bonus points for the poker table. 10/10

Yelp
New staff!! Yay! I was afraid to make a review before out of the staff seeing it and coming for me. Previous management was TROUBLE to say the least But thats all in the past now! These apartments are absolutely beautiful! with the stunning views of course! There is a parking garage attached (7 floors). Its quiet, and for such a large building i barley see my neighbors, which I love. They just updated almost everything in the building this past year or two. My one year is almost here and I decided that I will remain here!

Yelp
I would NOT recommend moving here. Don't be fooled by the West Elm furniture and "perks" they sell you, the coffee and beer machine hardly works, if your mail gets stolen it's your fault (check your lease agreement), the elevators don't work most of the time and water shut offs are regular because it's an old building. The worst part here is the staff in the leasing office. They are the reason property managers get a bad name in the industry. They're happy to take your money but don't ask them to do anything for you in return. They huff and puff and give you side eye when you ask for your mail (the mailroom is locked to residents) and make you feel like you're an inconvenience. All they care about is getting you in the door. The only redeeming feature of living in this building are the maintenance guys, they're responsive and I appreciated their service. Think twice before you sign a lease and make sure you read every clause. It's airtight and they will trap you in. They once tried to renew my lease for 12 months without my consent and I had to pay double rent when I moved out even though I gave the agreed 60 days notice. They will get you at every turn. All I'm saying is, watch out and consider your options.

Yelp
A former CLE, who lives in the South. Come up to CLE several times a year, so have been thinking of finally renting an apt. Have always liked the location of the Statler. Far enough from a lot of the noise, but still walkable to the Sq., sporting venues, not to mention next door to Playhouse Sq. The 2 leasing agents Amanda & Ronny made our move in perfect. Some headaches in getting the freight elevator, but Amanda solved all the issues. Nice layout to our renovated 1 BR, bath. Nice neutral grey with stainless steel appliances, expresso cabinets , in suite washer/dryer & large shower, easy care luxury vinyl plank in living areas & carpet in BR. Even though not here very much, but love the roof top deck area. Community room was finishing up & next year outside courtyard will be completed. Have not used the attached garage yet, but may try it with a rental this Fall. Get by with using CLE's great public transit & ride share. Looking for a downtown CLE apt...check it out.

Yelp
Beautiful building, lavishly restored. But its best feature may be the quality of its leasing staff, who truly go the extra mile for residents. Case in point: This past Sunday, as the city was going on lockdown over the recent protests, I was packing our car for a trip out of town and mislaid an item of considerable value, leaving it on the Statler garage floor. Horrified to find it missing when we reached our destination, I called the leasing office. It was closed, and the after-hours security guard also didn't pick up, apparently unable to reach the building. So I left a message, and within hours got a call back from Shannon, the leasing manager, who had been able to dispatch someone to search the garage and had found my missing item. The next day I was surprised to get a call from Ronny in the leasing office -- surprised, not to receive his confirmation that my lost item was being held in the office for pickup, but to hear he was in the office at all, due to the extreme difficulty for (supposedly) nonessential workers such as he to have gotten access to any downtown office. The routes tried, time spent, and persistence involved in his determination to get to work for the residents depending on him absolutely stand out in contrast to the empty desks and unanswered calls that have confronted others in need of downtown services in this trying time. Five stars for the staff!
