The Steak Shop by Fairway Packing

This was my first time purchasing from Fairway Packing since they left the Eastern Market and not impressed. I called to reserve some A5 Waygu filet and was told it was out of stock but they had some coming in the next day or two. I prepaid to reserve and was told they would call me to confirm when it was in stock. Never received a phone call. So I called 3 days later, and after some confusion finding my order I was told it was ready for pickup. So, order is in but no phone call? The next day my wife went to pick up the steaks and the guy that waited on her told her "somebody all ready picked up the order". She said this was not possible. The guy she spoke to wasn't very professional and the issue was resolved only after the manager had to intervene. Not sure I'll be going back in the future due to the poor customer service and not to mention by the time I cooked the steaks on Christmas eve (7days after I ordered) they smelled pretty gamey even though I was told they would stay fresh for 14 days.

This is a very nice meat shop! The service is just okay. The selection is pretty amazing. I love the pork rub I purchased here. They seem to run deals like a Sweetest Day special of steak and lobster. But it's not posted and you have to ask them about it. If you set up an account, you get 10% off.

What a great store. So many delicious things to choose from here. Absolutely love the steak selection. Worth every penny. I barbecued some of their prime steaks over the weekend. My guests were absolutely beside themselves as the steaks were tender and so delicious. So happy we have the store in Grosse Pointe.

I got an email that the order will be estimated to be "ready today" but did not get the email saying the order was ready till the next day at 4pm. I could not get order at 4 pm. I had to wait another day. Other than that confusion, everything is very good. I am shell shocked by the prices, but a steak from this place grilled at home beats anything I have gotten from a high end steak house. The hanger steak is the best steak I have had.

I purchased two A5 waygu steaks for 10% off during black Friday. I picked them up before Christmas to share as an appetizer with family, amazing quality! I think my brother cried. Thank you for the very special treat!

Great steaks! American Wagu is the perfect amount of marbling. They also sell great knives and other accessories.

Folded and got the 8oz Japanese A5 Wagyu and I can easily call it the best steak I have ever purchased. Knowledgeable gentleman working and very clean! I’ll be back!

I ordered online for in-store pickup, and it's such a seamless process. And their meat is SO GOOD. Fabulous steaks. Definitely stop in here.

Very cool steak shop that sells steak (of course) but also hamburgers, sausages/hot dogs, bread/buns/rolls, knifes, spatulas, beer/Italian soda, condiments, wine, cheese, chocolates and other equipment you may need to cook or grill steak/burgers with. Service also great and the interior ambiance is cool to check out.

Amazing high quality steaks - especially the Prime variety, but their Choice steaks are also wonderful. Excellent staff who are helpful without hovering. In warmer weather they grill samples out front which are always delish! They also feature a fair number of packaged meats & treats - franks, dips, etc.

I love this place! If you're looking for great meats and a great team to help you, this is the place! We purchased some steaks for a holiday party and they were a huge hit! Everything was so fresh and better than any other place we've ordered from. We also have had a chance to do their wine and steak pairing for a date night. We highly recommend! Quality meat, but ouch the prices increased about 30% in the last couple of months making it unaffordable. I can go to a steakhouse and get a whole meal for the same price with no dishes to clean up!

I ordered a beef tenderloin, online, two weeks ago. for a family party on 12/21.in the notes I specified that I wanted the meat trimmed and tied. the pick up was supposed to be 12/20. when I arrived for the pick up, the meat hadn't arrived. so I decided to wait until this morning, but I made sure with the staff at the store I needed it trimmed and tied. like you can get at almost any butcher shop, even in a grocery store. I was assured it would be. this morning when I arrived I was informed that the meat was trimmed, but not tied. I would have to do it. I just think that is not acceptable. I was not even offered a discount for my trouble, let alone an apology. these people don't care about their customers, and I will never do business with them again.
