How the Tiny Maryland Town of Easton Grew Into a Culinary Hotbed | Eater DC

"Inside the Stewart, I would pair rare Champagnes and scotches with elevated small plates like caviar blini and sticky toffee pudding prepared by chef de cuisine David Kneller, an Eastern Shore native." - John Besche

This is my 4th year at The Stewart. It's amazing to see how the property has matured in its management and residents. When I first moved in, things felt a little chaotic... but the management and staff now work like a well-oiled machine, and that makes all the difference. What mostly keeps us here is the value for price and the location. There are other apartments popping up all over Roosevelt, but they're just not worth the price. I can confidently say we get more value than what we pay here. The units are beautiful, views are inspiring, and the amenities are great. If I ever need anything fixed by maintenance, my work order is promptly taken care of by Seth or Ty on short notice. I've never had a request sit for days on end, wondering if it's even been seen. And the community events like yoga, happy hours, DJ's by the rooftop pool etc. truly bring a sense of community. Shoutout to the property manager Jenn for keeping the resident experience at the forefront. And I always have a friendly crew to have a chat with at the front office - Kalie, Anaiyah, and Alexis make sure I never leave the building without a smile. If you're looking for the epitome of downtown arts district life, The Stewart is the place to be. Enjoy some photos from our unit on the 17th floor.

YES! I'm approved and my lease begins in January... and I am ecstatic. As a doordash deliverer I've been inside about every apartment complex in downtown Phoenix and nothing had impressed me as the Stewart. Then I toured it as a prospective tenants and my appreciation tripled. I'm in love!

As a guy who has toured SEVERAL apartments, I can honestly say The Stewart left a strong impression. Alexis, who showed me around made the hassle of finding a new place, effortless and enjoyable. The time I entered the office, Alexis was professional and friendly. She asked great questions to figure out exactly what i was looking for to match my lifestyle. The building itself is impressive... modern finishes, a solid fitness center, and rooftop views to just kickback to relax. The Stewart is tough to beat with great amenities and an office team that treats you more than a number. Ask for Alexis, if you tour! There was no pressure, just a smooth and informative tour that made me feel confident about it!

I toured The Stewart and was very impressed! The building is beautiful, the amenities are Ahhhmazing (that podcast room might just inspire me to become the next big podcast in PHX), and the downtown location is perfect! I was in awe of the views from the rooftop pool. Jennifer was so helpful, answered all my questions, and had great energy. I felt welcomed right away! I could definitely see myself making The Stewart home next year.

Google
My most favorite thing about this place is the rooftop pool - STUNNING view. The Stewart Events are well planned and executed. I love the ease of having easy access to downtown Phoenix. The apartments themselves are spacious with high ceilings and updated amenities. The leasing staff: Jen, Kalie, Ty, + Chennai are so great to work with, I frequently stop down just to say hi and visit. Maintenance is completed same day or next, I have never had an issue or delay. I have invited multiple friends to live here, who have ended up also signing leases. As far as the cost- best bang for your buck in downtown hands down. I will be staying here indefinitely.

when Jamie The Building Manager took command, this place became one of the hottest places to live. I'm here to tell you that this building is different and a marvel that was only made possible by Jamie. Her hands on approach, wrangle 'em by the horns attitude, is what makes this building run the way it does. when you speak to Jamie, you can tell she's doing her job very well & at the same time, cares. it doesn't come off as uncaring or unprofessional. she's the most understanding Building Manager i've ever encountered! when on duty, the staff is very professional and cordial. always saying hi or asking if i need anything. when off duty, the staff is very pleasant as well! This building has character. it's fun. its exciting. it's like a box of chocolates, you never know what the next day is going to be like. the rooftop pool view is probably the best view in the city as the building is perfectly located to give you the best vantage point of all of downtown this place has exciting events a few times a month that are all inclusive. the staff are always there to make the event fun. the Stewart is conveniently located close to Roosevelt Row & First Friday Art Festival which draws in thousands of people. Makes for a fun evening for a date or family. if you've read this far, congratulations! you probably want to live here! i will end in this tho, if you have kids or are significantly older, this might not be the place for you. i refer you to the smaller apartments in the area located on the edge of downtown, away from the noise. Other than that, this place is pretty awesome, i would/will definitely be renewing my lease come next year. i encourage everyone to come tour the building with Jamie, I promise you'll like what you see!

I lived here over 2 years ago, they are now trying to charge me $180 for “fees” They never sent an itemized receipt of what they took out of my security deposit. My security deposit was not returned to me until a year and a half later. They took almost $400 of it and never told me what I owed for. I tried to call and figure out why I was being charged 2 years later, they quickly dismissed me off the phone and I was told I’d be sent a list and never was. The whole time I lived there the building was fine, garage door broke about once a week but it’s crazy when the property manager smokes weed in her unit but then threatens a notice when I smoke on my balcony... Legally you have to be returned your security deposit in 2-3 weeks (depending on state and mine took a year and half… I provided a forwarding address.

Google
What a great place to call home!!! The building is so pretty and we love our view! We spend lots of time in the amazing roof top pool and enjoy the fitness center a few times a week!!!! Staff is friendly and maintenance takes care of any problems quickly!!!! I hope to be here for a long time!!!!

Yelp
Currently living here and CANNOT WAIT to leave. Been here for about a year now and have seen all the worst parts of the management team, overcharging with no clear transparency until you go over their head then they suddenly remember to reply to your emails. Parking garage and elevators broke every other week, nickel and diming their residents even after paying insane rent prices. Unprofessional leasing agents making tiktoks about people complaining... homeless people outside harassing some of the people that live here on occasion, thank god for the 2-3 events they throw a year to make it seem worth it paired with the great location, but after about 3 months I realized we made a mistake coming here,. Only good things I honestly have to say about this apt is the repair team and service workers here are amazing. Very timely and should all be given raises. Do yourself a favor and FIND SOMEWHERE ALSE to live, Greystar properties are always horribly ran on purpose, they're great at branding to get you in then they price gouge everyone. Greystar is actively getting sued all the time. Arizona's attorney general personally is trying to help people get their money back from this company. Take a look at all the recent 5 star reviews, let's be realistic do those even look real? They're clearly people who work here trying to drown out the negative reviews.

Yelp
I like this location as it's in the center and close to everything including on the light rail train. The first thing that I noticed was parking... it's like a traffic jamhonestly. Whomever designed this really didn't put much thought into it. Close calls in and out... Finding a spot was really hard a the residents were parked in the leasing office spaces so I literally had to "parking lot pimp" my way into a spot. Sheesh what a headache! The good news is, if you reside here, they have paid parking spots in a separate secure lot. If anyone parked in your space management would have them towed is what leasing explained to me. I believe parking resident parking was $125 per spot but can't honestly remember. Call first to confirm. I had an appointment that staff didn't see me listed but agreed to cater to me anyway since Iwas there already but once I was inside, she was able to find my appointment. I noticed that, the building itself had the feel of, inside of a mall which in my mind a good vibe. They do have elevators which arev petty busy. I was greeted by both in office staff members who were really nice. Karmel was the leasing professional who worked conducted my showing. Karmel was awesome as she showed me 2 units. One studio which I immediately loved and a 1 bedroom which was nice, both with awesome views!!! The 1 bedroom was spacious with high ceilings. The only draw back for me with this building was no tubs in the bathroom/ only having walk in showers as well as parking. The amenities were very nice especially the roof top pool area. The studio was spacious. The studio she showed me was perfect as it was a corner unit which, was my preference. They have commercial space in the same building that people rent out for yoga classes etc which was nice as I'm a ‍ yoga fan. Not associated with the apartment complex but connected. They are also in the midst of making changes to add a podcast room for its residents to use for their own podcasts(rented space). Cool for those who enjoy having podcasts Cons: No tubs and major traffic/parking nightmare and literally on the light rail so one might hear the noise from it, however I'm not % sure. This part of downtown didn't have as much homelessness and I didn't see any transient around nor in the building. The area is still growing and they are building restaurants and more small business's in this area. I loved the roof top pool and amenities as I'd probably spend tons of time up there if I were to live here. Ironically no one was up there. Overall I'd tell you to view for yourself as the staff were very accommodating. Thank you Karmel Right now it's#3 on my list to live but not having a tub is really holding me back on this property honestly.

Yelp
This place started out amazing in 2019 but quickly turned into a dumpster fire once they had the initial people moved in. The standards dropped and they turned two floors into AIR BNB. Are those people passing the background check that I had to pay for? SWAT was in the building twice while I lived there to takedown human trafficking rings. It looks nice on the outside but is owned by a group that doesn't give the management group the tools necessary to run a respectable business.

Yelp
GHETTO atmosphere/BEAUTIFUL apartment. I'll start with the good stuff: The Stewart has breathtaking views and beautiful units. Amazing pool, lounge, and work spaces. HOWEVER: they literally let ANYONE live at the stewart. HIgh rise luxury apartments used to have an air of luxury and exclusivity, but 80% of the Stewart's residents are people from poverty struck backgrounds who have no manners. Resident lounge and hallways often smell like blunt smoke, these residents will have huge parties and give out the code to strangers, couples fighting and screaming at each other in the elevator, public intoxication. This place cost me an arm and a leg and I was SHOCKED at how I felt like I was in the projects. So if you don't mind noisy, no-manner fellow residents, you'll enjoy the lovely views and amenities! I think I'm gonna move somewhere a bit nicer though

Yelp
This building has the best view in downtown phoenix. We toured all the high-rises in downtown and we couldn't find a better view. We recommend the Jackson floor plan, which is a corner unit facing north and west. You'll have a view of the camelback mountain and you'll feast your eyes on Arizona sunsets every day of the week. The rooftop pool in this building is beautiful.

Yelp
I would NEVER recommend renting here. 1. They charge $150 to park in a parking garage that is not safe at all. The garage does not work, they are doing nothing to fix it, they claim they have "security" but if that's the case how is my car getting broken into on the 5th floor? And there are no cameras on top of that. You couldn't pay me to park here. 2. Every night there is banging on my door. There is not even a deadbolt on the doors to lock them, just an electronic lock that anyone can get into with a code. Do not feel safe at all. 3. They told me they have EV charges but not a single one of them work. 4. Charge me for renters insurance even though I already had it. 5. Took 3 days to come fix my fridge which resulted in $200 worth of groceries going to waste. 6. Very sketchy people in this complex. Lots of strippers/drug dealers. This area in a whole is so bad... As a single woman, you cannot walk anywhere without being catcalled and followed around. But living here makes it so much worse because I don't even feel safe in my own home.

Yelp
5 stars to The Stewart and team so far! Downtown is a great place to be with something going on everyday. The Stewart is an awesome hub to explore downtown, whether that's at Roosevelt Row, a live music venue, parks, a sporting event, theater or museum; The Stewart is at the center of it all. The building and amenities are very modern and clean. And who couldn't love the rooftop pool with its views. A big thank you to Armando, Karmel, and The Stewart team. They were a huge help during the whole move in process, including touring the property, helping throughout the application, and all the logistics on move-in day. Thank you again!!!

Yelp
I really don't like leaving negative reviews but honestly I think its best that more people knew about what to expect here at The Stewart. So this complex has absolutely amazing views and is in a decent location. But there are other things to be wary of. For example, theres a possibility your car may still be towed from its spot, even though you're paying $125 a month for parking here. My car was tagged with a really adhesive tow-sticker that was difficult to remove while parked in a spot that I paid for and when I reached out to the property manager, Jaimie, I was told "it's not my responsibility, get a razorblade and scrape it off if you want it gone". This makes absolutely no sense because how would I be at fault when I'm parked in a spot that I paid for, and wrongfully tagged? Secondly, why would you speak to a resident so condescendingly, after they are inquiring about something that they are not responsible for? Also, expect to be without hot water for extended periods of time. I went several weeks, a little over a month, without any type of hot water. After complaining to the office several times, I was told to just let the water run for 20-25 mins until it gets hot. I had to ask several times for the extra water usage to be reimbursed to me, as Jaimie promised. Also, the previous reviews talking about her false promises and nasty attitude? Believe them. Next, expect for the garage door to be broken at least a few times a month. At this point, its a running joke. I feel like management will only start taking that broken garage door seriously when someone's life is at risk and they couldn't make it out the garage in time. And when its broken, it will be left open for several nights. During that time, I've heard of neighbor's cars getting broken into. So yeah, beware of that. Beware of hidden fees! I was expecting a full return of my deposit since I left the apartment in excellent condition but an almost $200 cleaning fee was subtracted from my deposit. After inquiring, I was told that this is a mandatory fee taken from everyone's deposit. This is nowhere to be found in the lease. Also, nobody ever informed me of this, and they basically just took $200 from me and refuse to give it back when I never signed or agreed to that. I also want to mention that the apartment was left professionally clean. At nights, there are a lot of drug users walking around the building so try to be safe if you decide to live here regardless of everything I mentioned. I wouldn't be surprised if some of the reviews left here are actually fake, because I went through them and so many of them are straight up lies. There are a bunch of other decent apartments in this area with wonderful views and amenities, that probably don't come with a crappy community manager!

Yelp
I actually love living here and my experience has been rather great. In my opinion the worst part about living here are the other tenants and the parking situation and that is the only reason I am not giving it 5 start but the good still outweighs the bad! PROS: Roof top pool and jacuzzi: Apparently both have had issues but that was before my time here and they are AMAZING. Swim up movie night is a blast! Safe: Code entry to get into the building, elevator, and apartments. They also have a directory system that calls your phone so you can buzz someone in from your phone. Quiet: For being in downtown and having a bunch of 20 somethings in the building, the sound barrier is AMAZING. I never hear my neighbors. The maintenance team has come a long way and they have a solid group now. As long as you put in a maintenance ticket, you will be taken care of quickly. EVERY appliance is a smart appliance. The thermostat, fridge, oven, dishwasher, washer, dryer all can be controlled from your phone. CONS: Parking: Parking is SO expensive. $150 for one spot and you can't double park if you have a motor cycle even if it is secured in the bed of your truck. I know some people park 1 block over and have no issue. Hard to do this with a motorcycle. Guest parking: There are very limited guest parking spots and these spots ARE always taken by people that go to snooze restaurant or somewhere in the downtown vicinity even though they are not a guest. Sometimes cars get towed but it is rare. It would be nice to see it consistently monitored (even in the PM) so actual residents can utilize these spots. Maybe introduce some kind of reservation system. SUGGESTIONS: Fine the residents that leave large boxes in the trash rooms. 90% of the time the box has their address on it. Have clean stations near the elevators for dogs that have an accident. Fine the residents that don't pick up after their dog. Monitor guest parking and create a system so it can be properly utilized.

Mike W.

Yelp
I lived here for just under 2 months, in that short time the pool has been closed 4 times for varies bs reasons during the hottest months. The HVAC system has went twice, no cold air. The electrical went out for almost 4 days no elevators were working and no hot water! The front door was broke for 2 days for any and everyone to access the building. They had a massive flood in this building when it first opened and I think they have been dealing with issues ever since. Some tenants don't put their dogs on leases, so at any point you get doing zoomies in the hallway, or going potty. There are much better options around for the price you pay here! I will update this as the months pass! It may look great on the outside, but living here is another story. Most residents are super nice and the location is perfect! That's the one star.

Yelp
The search stopped here! Jamie is the best Building Manager in town! She is hands-on 24/7. She cares and has changed life here at the Stewart. She has pulled together a great staff, especially Emily. Because of Jamie, all residents have become like a great big family. There are so many opportunities to enjoy this wonderful building with all who live here. Whether we are at a social event like the recent Super Bowl Party, holiday parties, birthday parties in the clubroom with a great entertainment kitchen or just hanging out watching something on the big screen T.V. and playing pool, or relaxing and lounging on the rooftop with incredible city views, swimming in the pool or enjoying a relaxing evening in the spa after a long day at work, chatting at the coffee bar in the morning or any time of the day, or a cool evening grilling in the courtyard or by the pool, and greetings from neighbors as we reminisce great times and all that Jamie and her staff have done to make this building a wonderful place to live. Our luxury apartment is so beautiful and nice, with amazing views from our balcony. The city can be noisy late into the evening so closing the windows provides for a good sleep. So nice to have the 24-fitness center that fits my early morning schedule as well. It is a safe place to live with a great security team, the perfect location for walking to classes at ASU, local coffee shops, quaint restaurants and bars, Light Rail station, and a bus stop across the street for local shopping. Fetch for delivery service. Parking is available in the garage. There is a couple of guest parking but would be nice to have more available for guests of the tenants considering it is a large building. It is frustrating looking for local guest parking. I am not a fan of first Fridays. It is packed and very crowded. I walked it once and that was enough for me. It was so much nicer to go up to the rooftop instead, hang out and talk to our neighbors and make new friends with new neighbors. It would be nice to sit in the residents' lounge after dinner, have a cup of coffee and watch the nightlife from the window but this is closed by 6. Maybe Jamie can arrange this too!! Steward neighbors range from adults, to young professionals, and college students. Thank you, Jamie, for everything you do. You always go above and beyond to make our home a wonderful place to live and enjoy life! THANK YOU JAMIE!!!

Yelp
I love this place. I toured here once before, before touring again and signing the lease and I gotta say it has some really nice views! great great great location! parking is easy to find just gotta open your eyes...my apartment is amazing! the whole (new) leasing team is awesome. Since living here I've had the opportunity to meet some of my neighbors and make friends and hang out at the pool and hot tub. my apartment is amazing... clean when I walked in. obviously people lived here before me but it was still really clean when I moved. I still cleaned because obviously who doesn't do that... nobody cleans like yourself, right? the team helped me out so much and made me feel very welcomed! ive read some of the comments as I'm sure you all are doing now... and I was concerned but my experience has not been that, it's been great! Everyone experience seems to be different. They have cool updated amnesties like a podcasting room and lounge spaces. the parking is nice and easy for me. I had compact spot to start but I went down and got it changed and that was that. I've never been towed myself but I did tow someone from my spot ( a little annoying ) but everything is codes which is nice but I've seen some of the residents let other people ( unknown if they're other residents or random people being let in) into the apartment bldg itself and the parking garages and elevators... but me being me. I've made it habit to never go out a door or open the door where people are waiting to get in after me... but that's just me, because if you need to wait outside the door or garage door for someone else to come in/out instead of using your code or garage door open to let yourself, then you clearly don't live here. the only thing I've experienced is residents/deliveries/other people waiting in "do not park /no loading" spots and just waiting To deliver something or just waiting to get in. Parking is a bit high yes but I mean we do live in downtown. I can leave my car in my parking spot and don't have to worry about finding parking when we go out downtown since everything is pretty much walking distance. If you made it this far you then it's safe to say you might be interested in the stewart! overall I really enjoy it!

Yelp
Currently living at the Stewart and have witnessed the building's management team and sales team decline. I generally don't write reviews but people need to be aware of what they are jumping into. To start, there have been multiple power outages with no communication to the residents. Also, we have multiple AC outages, including AC outages lasting overnight which is not safe for those with medical conditions. Multiple emails were sent from the sales team saying it's fixed but the power shuts off again. No compromise with the residence from building management regarding the issues that continued to go on.

Eva F.

Yelp
Please, for the love of all that is good and holy, do NOT move here. I have witnessed multiple cases of animal abuse, from people leaving their dogs on balconies for days on end in the summer (not to mention suffocating and hitting their dog--which I have video evidence of but would prefer not to subject anyone to the horror), to people just letting their aggressive dog roam loose in the hallways. After informing management multiple times about these issues, the balcony dog remained outside for weeks (despite claims that animal control was contacted multiple times), and the hallway dog continues to be abandoned there frequently (and it has been going on for over a year). Not only is there animal abuse, I've witnessed domestic violence as well. You will constantly encounter the police in the complex, and if you're lucky like me, you'll hear them banging on your neighbor's door at 3:00am. There is constantly dog shit, trash, and spills in the hallways, and the sidewalks / areas around the property where you should be able to walk your dog are absolutely disgusting and unsafe. Homeless people will get into the building through the garage (which is often broken) and wander the hallways. If you'd like even more evidence of how vile and terrible this complex is, I urge you to join the resident Facebook group (The Stewart Message Board) and scroll for a minute. The apartment itself is beautiful, so it's a shame how disrespectful the residents are and how negligent management seems to be. I understand that ownership and management has changed in the time I've been here, but not a single thing has changed and the same issues continue to pile up. I do not feel safe living here and am counting down the hours until I finally get to move out.

Sal P.

Yelp
I'm a prospective future resident, so long as there are worthwhile amenities. I've met the leasing office and managerial staff Karmel, Chinny, and Kalie, who are attentive, welcoming, and efficient. Thanks to their hospitality I was able to effectively provide safe service. cheers!

Yelp
I have been living in this building since August 2023. I moved into this building following cancellation of my lease in another building at the last second due to their construction not being done on time, and The Stewart had an opening in the short time frame I had to find something, so I went with it. At first, I was empathetic to the noises and the less-than-luxurious lifestyle that came with living here - it is, after all, a downtown building. However, the fact that the management does very little to take care of people smoking, people littering, dogs barking, etc is just ridiculous. While most of the blame for this lies with the tenants, it is what you can expect while living here. Dogs howl at all hours of the night, the hallways reek of weed, and as other reviews have mentioned, the trash situation is out of control. The parking garage floors are often covered in trash - I have no idea if people are littering or if the trash bins are overflowing, but either way, you will feel like you are living in a homeless area. The parking garage (that you will pay $125 a month for) is poorly designed, so you will play chicken everyday with those who see the landings between floors as their own personal parking spots to unload their groceries and also those who fly around the corners and do not slow down to see if anyone is coming from the other direction. You will pay an astronomical amount of fees, from amenity fees for Fetch (which is a BS service that you cannot opt out of) and Smart Home Services (also not something you can opt out of) and then common areas fees that are more expensive than your own apartments utilities costs. The common area fees, on average, will run you about $80 a month. They don't tell you that when you sign a lease. The hot tub didn't work the first 3 times I used it (I have not used it since then so can't speak to wether or not it was ever fixed) and the building has a poorly designed water system which has been an issue for me since moving in. I have multiple work orders put in for not having hot water - the water was luke warm to where it would not even steam up the mirror in the bathroom. Communication with the office is sub par - they will send one email blast out if something is wrong but then not follow up when an item is fixed, nor will they keep you updated. This was first-hand experienced when we went almost 2 weeks without hot water. The water was barely warm, and the office simply blamed it "on the City" and gave zero follow-up communication. If I could break my lease today without having to pay an unreasonable amount of fees, I would. If you want to live in a downtown building and don't care about wasting money, this is the place for you. The location is great and you have alot of options for food, drink, entertainment, etc. But 5 towers have gone up around us, including one that now completely blocks the west-facing view from the building. Were those units' rent decreased accordingly? Of course not. Congrats - you pay $3000 for a view of someone else's living room instead of the gorgeous sunset. The rent prices are criminal, and I cannot wait to get out of here. I was hoping it would get better here, but each time I try to be ok with having several months left of this lease, something happens that makes me think spending $6000 to break it and move out will be worth it.

Yelp
I went in for a tour and before even completing the tour I already knew that this was a place I'd love to live in! The vibes in that office was unmatched. I was able to get a same day tour which I appreciated. The two bedrooms are priced way better than any other property I've seen. The rooftop pool is beautiful, I love the access to DTPHX area. Thanks Kalie for all the help!

Yelp
I've been living at the Stewart for a year now and absolutely love it.. where do I begin to talk about how much I love living here? Apartment units- Amazing sound barrier I never hear my neighbors. Views on views ! I face East and get a beautiful city sunrise every morning. Maintenance is on it if you put in a work order they will come and do the job. My floor was affected by some water coming in the hallway via someone hitting a sprinkler in the garage, thankfully my unit had no water damage but it was a little humid. The Stewart was very much on it the same day and installed a couple of anti-water damage fans and everything has been good as new. It was nice to have them take care of that so quickly given it wasn't really a big deal. If you're thinking about living here I suggest getting a unit on the 3-8 floors because you're only have a few neighbors Management- I love Jamie! I've been very lucky with property managers in general but she takes the cake. she's very knowledgeable about what goes on in the building at all times and I really hope that she's in it for the long run because I really appreciate how she manages the building. Whenever big news needs to be sent out she's on it with the emails. BUT My only issue is that sometimes when I call the leasing office no one answers the phone. Community- I love my neighbors! this building consist of a lot of young professionals of various backgrounds. It's diverse, fun and I love the community events that are put together. swim up movie night and Fourth of July rooftop pool party this year was LIT. I feel like the rent I pay every month is such a good value for what I get: A lovely apartment unit, amenities, events, location it really is a win-win. I was bored when I got home from work yesterday so I thought, "let's go up to the Jacuzzi and see if I can make new friends" and I always do lol It's very much a party vibe but the building is safe, not noisy or trashed whatsoever Location- Being in the middle of Roosevelt Row and it doesn't get any better! super walkable, easy access to the train, Bars and restaurants galore within walking distance. I will admit being so close to the train, hearing the loud bells took a minute to get used to. But it's honestly not so bad now. Safety: As a young woman I feel safe living here. I see security roam at night in the building and parking garage. I love the new SmartRent access, at first I wasn't sure how to feel about it but now love it because I don't have to carry a fob around. I also love the fetch delivery service because I never get a slip saying "sorry we missed you" receiving packages in this building is so streamlined and knock on wood I've never had anything get lost My cons: 1)parking is VERY expensive $ 150 for one spot. 2) I wish this apartment didn't allow dogs, once in a while you will see dog pee. I know management can't control every single person and that's more on negligent/rude owners but still. 3)Leasing office needs to answer their phones

Yelp
The jacuzzi has been closed for almost 6 months now, management does a horrible job of responding and keeps pushing back the time on when it will be repaired every time. "Next week" or "we're working on it". They send out so many emails and don't respond to any???

Yelp
The Stewart has transformed since the new property manager Jamie and her team have been in charge. The amenities are all in working order and the pool on the 18th floor is in great shape, as well as the hot tub, which was shut down under the earlier property manager. The property team is worth their weight in gold for their quick responses and ongoing updates around the property. Now the property is about to start a remodel project and the hallways are getting brand new carpet and the walls will be painted similar accent colors to the new carpet. The property is dedicated to being an active part of the artistic community surrounding the building. This is an incredible property. The views of the city are fantastic all over the property. It's great to see the tenants take pride in their homes. Thank you for making this a great place to live!!

Yelp
This place is the best value. Walking distance to downtown. Does not have the traffic and noise of the apartments near the stadium. The staff is awesome. Jamie throws great apartment parties. Kaylee, Armando, and Karmel are the best! Amazing views and pool top party.

Yelp
Hands down one of the best places to live downtown. Kalie, Karmel, Armando, and Jaime are very attentive and extremely welcoming.

Yelp
Very unorganized and rude office workers. I had a tour scheduled and stood outside pushing the buzzer to get let in for about 25 minutes. Finally a resident walking by let me in. I find my way to the office and no one is there. After waiting by the office for 15-20 minutes I see two ladies walking in from outside from a smoke break. They come up and rudely ask me "if I need something". The girl who gave me the tour was rude and barely spoke to me. The whole place also stunk like weed. There's no guest parking so you'll also have to have any visitors find parking on the street and pay for it.

Yelp
I lived at the Stewart and management was horrible. They walked out in 2021 and all the staff quit. I gave a 2-month notice because there had been human trafficking/prostitution, drug dealing and my car was getting broken into and felt unsafe. I paid what I owed, turned in my keys to a clean place where I cleaned the carpets. A year later I receive a debt for $8,000 and had received weird emails about be moving out a year later. When I approached billing they said new management had taken over and probably made a mistake. So here I am and I've called a hundred times a day trying to get through to the office for two weeks now, and not one answer and you can't leave a voicemail. Now, I have to report to the consumer financial bureau and hire an attorney. By the looks of new management, I can assure you if they don't answer the phone after a hundred times for two weeks, they won't attend to you as a resident. I highly urge you to steer away from this place as their practices are more than shady.

Yelp
Centralized location, friendly staff, luxurious amenities. The Stewart is a wonderful complex for any urbanite.

Yelp
Take your money somewhere else. Please do not move here. Save yourself the trouble, Words cannot begin to describe the absolute nightmare that living in this building has been for my husband and I and we've been here for 30 days. If you are thinking about moving here and have time to read my review please do yourself a favor and do not move here and read through my lengthy nightmare of a review. To the Stewart don't send me a reply pleading your case or apologizing because all you've done since I moved in here is lie and disrespect me and my husband to the highest degree Let me start by saying there is no concierge at any hour don't let them lie to you, there is no security that can be taken seriously, and no "patrol" through our parking even though the door never works anyways. The pool is a joke, the hot tub is a joke, the building is a joke. I signed my lease 2 months prior to moving into The Stewart and let me tell you, the hottub was broken then and it is still as I'm writing this review. Yet I am still charged an amenity fee monthly. After signing our lease the apartment lost my deposit and attempted to get me to repay the deposit before "finding it" weeks later. Once we paid for everything no one contacted us and I had to call the office where I learned they had forgot that we were moving in and scrambled to get everything together. I set an appointment to pick up my keys and start my move in and when I showed up the office was closed and the property manager was inside the office staring me in my face ignoring me as I called and knocked on the door. When Jamie the property manager finally opened the door for me, she told me her reports were late and I was just going to have to wait to get my keys. What a warm welcome! I was given no instructions on how to get into my apartment or anything past here's your keys get out of my face. When I walked into my apartment, maintenance was in my apartment painting my apartment. They told me my apartment had "slipped through the cracks" and they were putting a few "finishing touches" on my apartment. More like polishing a turd. Once the maintenance left, a cleaner entered my apartment and wiped down one counter and walked out of my apartment. At this point I started checking around my apartment to see what may have been left not done. To my surprise there was food in between my fridge and my pantry and I almost threw up. On top of that all of my baseboards were destroyed and a baseboard actually fell out of cabinet and there was nails hanging out face up. Nothing was done to flip my apartment. The garage door has been broken the entire time that I have lived here with "quick fixes." 3 cars have been broken into in the first week I moved in. Yet I still pay $150 a month for parking. Almost 20 days later (April 6th) Jamie called me and told me that someone would be in my apartment the next day to fix all of the problems. A week later no one had come to service my apartment and at this point I had lost all hope. April 13th at 8am with no written notice a maintenance guy had walked into my apartment without announcing himself while my husband and I were naked in bed. Waking up out of sleep to someone in your apartment is NOT how I want to be woken up. When I tried to address this issue, Jamie the property manager told me that it is "not her problem" and swears up and down we gave The Stewart the permission to enter my apartment whenever they see fit. I had locked myself out of my apartment after hours and called maintenance to let me back in. Maintenance refused to let me back in to my own apartment because they were too far away and said they couldn't because it's "against policy" while security downstairs told us they could for $50. Not to mention now we have an electrical issue that the property manager is explaining to residents as a ground fault. Our electricity goes out regularly because of this and it's a dangerous situation for all residents.

Yelp
Avoid this place at all costs. Overpriced, horrible management. I've had my car towed twice yet pay $75 a month for parking, which I still haven't gotten my parking fob and it's been what, four months? This place is a freaking joke. The only thing that was going for it was the nice coffee machine, but someone tried to steal it so they just shut the room down every night and afternoon. I mean, they could put a fob access on the door to the coffee room just like to the pool area, but that would just be too convenient right?

Yelp
I absolutely love this place! Very modern interior, staff was super friendly, and the rooftop lounge and pool are AWESOME! It also doesn't hurt that the restaurant on the bottom floor has amazing food. Great value find considering it's in the middle of downtown Phoenix, and reasonably priced against the market. The Stewart was one of my better decisions.
