still point Is the place to go if you want to relax, enjoy feeling pampered! I went and had a full body massage. What took me so long to discover this place! The staff is friendly, experienced, and the atmosphere provides Tranquility. Can’t wait until my next spa treatment! Sharon.

This is the perfect spa in so many ways. Peaceful, and quiet, extremely well-run and welcoming. I have been seeing Emily for massages for almost a year now. I’m very athletic and a gardener and she is Intuitive and ready to do the sometimes big work I need ! She’s one of the best masseuses I have ever seen.

This was my first visit to the spa. Upon entering, the soothing aroma and calm atmosphere were immediately inviting. However, the receptionist with blonde braids was not very friendly; her welcome felt rather perfunctory, especially for a first-time visitor. Despite this, the spa offers slippers, cubbies for your belongings, and a pleasant waiting area with water, tea, nuts, and biscuits. Conrad, my therapist, provided excellent service—he was attentive, listened well, and was a pleasure to interact with. The experience was great, with reasonable prices and a selection of oils, stones, jewelry, and body products available for purchase. Overall, it was a wonderful day for relaxation and a great massage.

Google
I am a new customer and the place is so cozy and inviting! I am relaxed the moment I step in. The waiting area is very inviting with beverages, slippers and reading material. I had one of the best massages from Ceara! Her energy was so positive and soothing and I left rejuvenated and with my knots worked out! I love having a great, local place where I can have a perfect self care day!

My husband gifted me a birthday massage at Still Point this past Saturday and the night before my massage my husband had to go the ER for an unexpected health emergency...he was kept at the hospital well into Saturday. I was home with our three kids and no car. I knew I would not be able to make it to the massage so I called right when Still Point opened to cancel the massage. I explained my situation and the super extenuating circumstances and they ultimately still charged me for the full price of the massage. I do understand that this is their policy but I've been going to still point for special occasion massages and facials for ~8 years and I could not believe that they wouldn't make at least a partial exception for a case like mine. I will not be going back because I don't want to support a business that doesn't have mercy on a client in a situation like this.

36 weeks pregnant and went in for a prenatal massage. Highly recommended to all mama-to-be! Beautiful establishment and staff was very welcoming. Prenatal certified therapist Ursula was fabulous and I had the most amazing 60-minute massage. We used a body pillow to get me comfortable and settled in a side lying position while she did her magic. She used the right amount of pressure and I felt so relaxed afterwards. It was a nice splurge and self-care before Baby Girl arrives!

Google
Naja is the BEST. I see her for Asian bodywork. I came in with knots up and down my shoulder blades and immobilizing pain in my shoulder and I walked out with SO much relief. Dry needling, cupping, Gua sha… it’s all so good and so helpful. Plus she has a delightful demeanor and is incredible compassionate. I’ll be back over and over!

Google
I appreciate the atmosphere they had created. The waiting area was both relaxing and cozy. The staff were welcoming and everyone had great customer service. There were snacks and tea available while you wait, you get to change into slippers which they provided, and the facilities were very clean. The one thing I wish they had was a couples massage.

Yelp
I've been to Still Point dozens of times. I've always had a great experience. I highly recommend Andrea's massages!

Yelp
I used to love this place and recommended it to anyone seeking true relaxation and an elevated treatment experience. Unfortunately, the quality of service has declined, and it now feels as though anyone regardless of training or skill level is allowed to provide massages. Today, I arrived 10 minutes early for my appointment but wasn't seen until 15 minutes after my scheduled time. I ended up leaving the treatment room just 12 minutes into the session. The service was completely unskilled: rushed, inconsistent, lacking rhythm, and missing the foundational techniques that define a competent, professional massage therapist. A skilled therapist uses intentional pressure, consistent/proper flow, and an understanding of muscle anatomy to create a therapeutic and cohesive experience none of which were present. Realizing the session was doing more harm than good, I made the decision to end it and leave. The front desk staff clearly knew something had gone wrong, as my early departure was obviously due to dissatisfaction. Yet I was still charged $139. Not only is that unreasonable, but deeply unprofessional. When I called for clarification, I was met with a scripted cancellation-policy explanation given by the same employee who witnessed me ending the service early and leaving the studio upset. Only after pressing for details was I told I'd need to speak with a manager. The entire interaction was dismissive, confusing, and frankly, insulting. This visit brought frustration instead of the relaxation this business is supposed to offer. And for anyone who believes the service I received, particularly from Pam, is acceptable, I can assure you they have not experienced a true massage from a trained, skilled professional.

Yelp
As a DC native, The Still Point adds value to the Takoma community. It's the perfect place to escape from the hustle of "what do you do?"

Yelp
I had my first ever acupuncture appointment here with Andrea. She is fantastic - warm, caring, and great at explaining the benefits of acupuncture and everything she did along the way. The place itself is very cute (looks like a house from the outside), clean, and it has an adorable gift shop in the check-in area. Highly recommended!

Yelp
Overall I had a decent first visit to this location. The spa is easy to find using GPS. There are a few parking spaces in the back. The front desk service is nice. There's a small shopping area to purchase trinkets, jewelry, home and body care items. For snacks there are biscoff cookies and citrus water. The sitting area is cute. The lights are dim and there is a variety of seating options. The area is decorated like a comfortable home with two sitting areas. While waiting you can hear the footsteps on the wood floors and lots of movement above. I had concerns that I would hear outside noise and the wood floors creaking during my massage but I was pleasantly surprised at how sound proof the room was. My masseuse was ok - the energy was a bit off and the massage itself was ok. I came here to try a different location due to my usual massage therapist at a different spa is on maternity leave. I may come back to this spa but ask for a different masseuse.

Yelp
It's difficult for me to write this. I've been a loyal customer of StillPoint for over 10 years, regularly paying into their monthly subscription service (Promise Program). While my most recent massage was excellent, the room was uncomfortably cold. I brought this up with the massage therapist, the front desk staff, and eventually the Wellness Spa manager. After some miscommunication and missteps, I was finally able to speak with the Wellness Spa Director today. Unfortunately, the interaction was less than pleasant. Although she ultimately provided a free massage after some back-and-forth, her demeanor was disappointing. During our conversation, she mentioned how busy she was and then brought up an unrelated incident, claiming I had previously complained about a second bathroom being closed (which I don't even recall). She went so far as to remark, "Can't win with this guy," while talking to me--essentially complaining about me in my presence. Not only did this feel unprofessional, but it also mischaracterized my feedback. After more than 10 years as a loyal customer, it was disheartening to have my concerns dismissed in such a way and to be labeled as difficult or overly critical. While I can't speak to her intentions, the impact of her comments was clear: I felt unwelcome and unappreciated. As a result, I have chosen to cancel my subscription and will seek a spa where my feedback is valued and where I feel genuinely welcomed.

Yelp
First time here after thinking about trying for years. The space is beautiful but had some out of place touches (the plastic bags for the slippers and the slippers themselves, I felt strange wearing my regular clothes with rubbery slides; maybe changing into a robe would help? during my service my hands were also put into plastic bags for moisturizing I think and I found that unpleasant). The service itself (an hour facial) was mostly nice, but I won't be back. Maraki was good with her movements, but most of the time she didn't tell me what was going to happen next. In the middle I was sprayed with cold mist and physically jolted. Having a facial can be kind of vulnerable since your eyes are covered, so I think it's common courtesy to tell someone what you're about to do. The facial also oscillated between being warm and cold and by the end I was just cold and it didn't feel soothing to me. The steam machine was also quite noisy so the environment wasn't as relaxing as I would've liked. Between Still point, hey day, and silver mirror, I prefer my experience at Silver mirror (though I did have one bad experience of maybe ten visits).

Yelp
I love this place and have been going for YEARS. Dewaynia will always be my fav since the first house. Great massages from Conrad Mary and the massage therapist known as the intuitive one...

Yelp
my favorite spa in the DMV. Every practitioner is a pro, the space is lovely and quiet and the Promise Program makes self-care simple.

Yelp
The customer service and services are outstanding. I had a massage with Ursula and acupuncture with Dr. Dewaynia. I highly recommend them both. I'm becoming a member at the spa. I've lived in this area for over 18 years and just discovered it recently. Shame on me. It's a jewel.

Yelp
Another great massage at Still Point today. Lalani Stevens is a skilled professional, applying just the right pressure to ease my injured muscles. I didn't want to get up from the massage table! They have a great team of therapist there, a courteous staff and a lovely, calming atmosphere that relaxes you as soon as you enter.

Yelp
I tried a new service @ The Still Point (Myofascial Release Therapy) with Ursula Tillery After I felt tension & tightness in my body & muscles were relaxed. I felt great all over. Ursula is professional trained & can identify the points in my body that require attention. I've enjoyed & I am pleased with all the massage services she's render to me

Yelp
I went today for the first time! I received a gift certificate for my birthday and was able to finally put it to use on my off day. The services I got were the 60 min facial Jojolin & 30 min full body Massage with Ben. They both were amazing and professionals at what they do. My skin feels so smooth and refreshed. Ben definitely found all the tense areas on my body and got rid of them. Next time I will get a 60 min massage. I cant wait to return.

Helene K.

Yelp
Warm, welcoming, serene atmosphere. Excellent service! Had a wonderful massage with Farshid.

Kathy M.

Yelp
Melissa has been my monthly acupuncturist for years. She listens and applies a wide array of techniques and I leave feeling restored, grounded and relaxed.

Kat T.

Yelp
I got an essential facial with Ayanna. One of the most relaxing facials! She did a very thorough job. The spa overall is quaint and busy, but overall relaxing. They have a good selections of products. I highly recommend booking Ayanna for a facial.

Yelp
I love the Still Point Spa! Ursula is by far the best intuitive therapist I have ever experienced. I see her for Reiki and massage sessions. It is everything I need my life! She takes excellent care of herself and it shows in the care she gave me. Ursula is always happy, patient, and kind. She also attentively listens to my needs and concerns. I love the fact that she is knowledgeable about anatomy and alternative healing. Can't wait till my next session! Thank you Still Point!

Ema C.

Yelp
I had a wonderful facial with brow cleanup. Ayanna worked on removing my blackheads. It was my first facial as I am only 16, and she made me feel so comfortable. My skin is glowing and I feel so pretty. I will definitely be returning! A great gem in Takoma Park!

Courtney Q.

Yelp
Just got out of my first 60 minute professional massage with Andrea! Best birthday gift I've given myself today. Go to Andrea--she will take care of you. P.S. I had some trouble with parking in the neighborhood, but after driving a couple of blocks I found a space.

Yelp
I can't believe after all these years of living down the street I've never been here before. It may have been my first time but definitely not my last. The facial with Jojolin was AMAZING. She's very skilled and they use good products here. Usually I'm very sensitive to facials but no problems at all. The environment was nice and tranquil also. I look forward to going back monthly.

Yelp

Yelp
I'm sorry that it took me this long to write a raving review about The Still Point, but I'm glad I am doing it now. I have been coming to this gem in my neighborhood for about ten years now. The fact that it's on a quiet street in a standalone house is why I prefer going here instead of a spa in the city or in a fancy hotel. The smell outside of the house is beautiful. There is a lovely scent in the air as you park and walk up; it smells clean and refreshing. I've tried almost every masseuse as they rotate in and out - some were wonderful but they left the Still Point - some are new employees - but I've found three that I absolutely love and they make me feel so good afterwards that I am ready to take on the world! Olivia is a master at her craft. Someone asked me one time why I love her so much and I had to think for a second. My answer was, "she is so incredibly confident with her movements." I also just vibe with her style of massage and she is wonderful and kind. Benjamin - I have only had 1 massage by him so far, but I haven't stopped thinking about it - it was one of the best massages I have ever gotten in my life. He has a firm pressure which I love, and he doesn't talk your ear off which I have had others do before, and I really appreciate that he just lets me be quiet and relax. Shelby - I saw him last night for the first time and even though we were both in masks, I could feel his great energy and friendliness. His pressure is perfectly firm too. His style is sort of choreographed like a dance, and I really appreciate the stretching he incorporated into the massage. The Still Point is hands-down THE BEST spa to relax at right outside of the city. I try to come twice a month. Sign up for their Promise Program which offers a discount on services and products!

Yelp
This place never disappoints. The staff is amazing and I always leave in a wonderful state of bliss. I can't recommend it highly enough.

Yelp
I've tried probably 4-5 spas in DC for massages, but I'd never considered going to Takoma Park until I decided I needed a last-minute, next day massage, and Still Point was the only opening I could find. When I tell you it was fate that I came across Still Point... it was 100% the best massage I've ever had. Mary was my therapist and she had impeccable attention to detail, and I could tell how much she cares about her work and clients. With a lot of massages, I can tell that my therapist is just going through the motions and doing the same thing over and over, but I've never had someone like Mary who paid individual attention to me and my needs. This is now going to be my go-to spot and I'll be a regular client. Not to mention, it's affordable. Can't be thankful enough that I stumbled upon Still Point!

Jessica B.

Yelp
Had a wonderful facial. Vanessa was awesome! She was very knowledgeable, and provided recommendations on tweaking my skincare routine. Relaxing experience, and my skin is now glowing.

Maria P.

Yelp
I have had several services at Still Point over the past several years. I have always been happy with the results. Every staff member has been outstanding. This morning I had my first facial with JoJo. It was really incredible. My skin was glowing. I know that I have to keep this up so I joined the "Club" again. Looking forward to the long term benefits. I also have to add that the woman helping me at the front desk( sorry, I forgot her name) , was incredibly helpful and friendly. She is an excellent representative for the Spa.

Tyrone S.

Yelp
Ciara was everything I could have asked for. I had a gift card for my bday and added an additional 30 minutes.. GREAT CHOICE, Tyrone

Cassandra H.

Yelp
This was my first time at Stillpoint, I've had many facials from Aveda and have something to compare this one to. My esthetician was very nice but in a hurry - I was her last client of the day and everything felt rushed. Several times creams were in my nose and mouth and she worked very quickly and haphazardly applying the various creams. Her warning was that I was about to be misted was too short and I opened my eyes which meant I got mist in them. This isn't her fault but the room was also incredibly warm. I won't be going back.
google avatar

Mojave D.

Yelp
Oh. Yes. I hate that it is so far from where I am but I make the 45min drive to go from time to time. Anthony is particularly great!! Their tea is always room temperature though and that sucks. But other than that, yes!

Helen S.

Yelp
Awesome service. Great attention paid to my injured shoulder by Andy. Thanks so much for the professional and caring service.

Yelp
Over the pass 3, plus years Still Point in Takoma Park, MD has been my go to local Spa. Forever thing from acupuncture to facial to massages and of course with ever relationship in life there have been some ups and downs. However, we have managed to overcome the downs with more ups... which is why I would like to first recognize the Wellness Director, Alisa and Manager Monique for listening to my concerns, implementing change and creating an open line of communication for feedback. Needless to say, they were patience with my process and did not push me to make a decision regarding my membership, after expressing my concerns. They gave me the respected space and time I need to make a decision. Which is one of the contributing factors to why I opted to maintain my membership to-date. Moreover, I would be remised if I didn't mention the MASTER ESTHETICIAN, Jojo who played a major role in my decision to continue to be apart of the Still Point family. She is the reason, I had to take the time to write this review. To say the least, Jojo is a master at her craft, extremely professional and provides exceptional facials on all levels. From our first encounter, I could tell I was not just another client... she assessed my skin, provided recommendations and made sure she communicated through the process. I have been getting facials for over 28, plus years and I can say, "the industry does not make them like they use too!" However, Jojo is the real deal. So if you are ever in the area and wanted to experience highly specialized and expert services from a exceptional ESTHETICIAN... Please book with Jojo at the Still Point. She will have your skin glowing and healing in no time. If you want to hear a list of a few other Still Point greats... check out my next review. This one was completed with the intention of recognizing the person who impacted my decision to continue my membership at the Still Point... Jojo!

Yelp
Had a wonderful, relaxing massage with Ceara - perfect pressure, special attention to problem areas. I will be back!

A. G.

Yelp
I had a wonderful experience at this spa. I got a massage with Andrea and she was wonderful. I like that it was a full hour. The massage tables are heated. The atmosphere was very relaxing and the establishment was very clean. I would definitely go back again.

Julie M.

Yelp
The Still Point is a gem. I have had several massages with Farshid and he is a miracle worker. It's almost like a combination massage/physical therapy because he fixes everything. I cannot thank him enough. I feel like a new woman!

Jennifer G.

Yelp
I had a wonderful experience. The atmosphere is very relaxing and their massage therapist are amazing.

Kasia B.

Yelp
Really nice neighborhood spa with a relaxing ambiance. Visited today for massages to celebrate our anniversary. My husband's masseuse, Andrea, was fantastic, and he could not have been more happy. Mine was mediocre. The massage felt rushed and just mechanical. She yelled at me at one point to "let go and relax!" as i must have dozed off and kept my leg stiff. Needless to say I was no longer relaxed and stayed anxious through the rest of the experience. I love massages but this one was a miss. Given my husband's experience I will give this spa another try, but certainly with another masseuse that is not so rude.

Donitra R.

Yelp
There's so much to say about this wonderful establishment. It's beautiful and welcoming as you walk in. You can smell the aromatherapy as you enter. It's cozy and beautiful inside with plush furniture, fire place, and plenty of snacks. The customer service at check in and check out was professional and kind. Best of all my esthetician Deja was amazing. I've definitely found my spa home and a great healer to support me in my self-care journey. So, don't hesitate to visit.

Lauren C.

Yelp
I LOVE the Stillpoint. You walk in and all your troubles slowly float away. Facials are amazing--I usually see Jojo and she is simply the best. I've also tried cupping which was a very cool experience. Highly recommend!

Yelp
best massage I have ever had. I came in hard ridden and put away wet and left feeling like a million bucks
google avatar

Autumn H.

Yelp
Amazing massage! Ben did a great job. I love having this affordable luxury in the neighborhood

Noah C.

Yelp
Best spa in the DC area. My wife and I go frequently and just pick any staff member via online scheduling and haven't had a bad experience yet.

Maritza S.

Yelp
The Still Point is my go to spa for facials. I love their welcoming, homey feel and their staff has always been great. As a woman of color, I have also remained loyal to Still Point because they massage therapists and estheticians of color (which in my past experiences with spas is uncommon). My latest facial with Morgan was fantastic!!!!! She was gentle and treated my problem areas with great knowledge and advice. My skin within a day looked so much better. Please go see her! And visit the Still Point!

Tricia A.

Yelp
Very nice! My first time at The Still Point. Had a 60 min massage by Mary. It was so relaxing and refreshing. The staff was so friendly and inviting. I signed up for there Promise Program and plan on going back for a facial! Location is excellent and parking is easy.
