The Stilwell

We didn't realize this restaurant was in a hotel, but it had a nice open/modern feel - you'd never know you were eating at a hotel restaurant! We had great breakfast service. The Buffet looked nice, but we opted for items on the menu. My husband got the KC Benedict, which had burnt ends and a touch of bbq sauce added. I got the English Muffin with Ham and Egg. The egg was fried medium, with a slight drizzle when you cut the egg. The aioli sauce was a great complement to the sandwich. Served with skillet potatoes. I would definitely visit again when in town! We were quickly seated on a Sunday morning, a party of 2. I saw other parties of 6 to 8 (you may want to call ahead just in case it is busy)

Stopped in after an event at the convention center. We were seated right away in a nice quiet corner. The service was prompt, but not rushed. The cocktail menu featured local labels and the recommendations were appreciated. Bread service was a warm house made boulet topped with black sesame seeds and served with compote butter. Cracking the crust was reminiscent of Remy explaining the essence of great bread to Emile in Ratatoullie. The Stillwell and Caesar Salads were great. I am a sucker for watermelon radishes, and there they were. Both were well dressed and the correct portions. We had the strip steak and the Pork Schnitzel. The steak was properly seasoned and grilled, the au poivre sauce was great, but the whipped potatoes were the standout. Schnitzel is one of those dishes that are either executed amazingly well or ate a disaster. This Schnitzel was phenomenal! Ideal thickness, perfect crunch, just enough sauce and salt...the whole package. The Spatzle and cabbage we excellent compliments. We took the fried chicken togo (for another diner at home) and it was also excellent...with standout Mac and cheese as a side. This was such a nice surprise, especially for an unplanned dining experience after a busy day. The lobby bar seemed like a place to be for a night out and the staff was very accommodating. We will be back for sure and highly recommend stopping in whether you are staying at the hotel or not.

Enjoyed our dinner here. I grabbed a steak which was cooked perfectly and served with potatoes and carrots. My wife had the seabass with black rice which was also great. To start, we each had a specialty cocktail and crab cakes. All in all, great experience.

Incredible food and a great view! The BBQ plate was much bigger than we anticipated and so delicious! The salmon was cooked perfectly! We also got a salad and the mushroom appetizer which was also delicious. I always have to try dessert and this was a chocolate cake with passion fruit gel layer and cheesecake. So good!!

Got two Kansas City Strips, ordered medium well. They came out suuuper medium but I also appreciate the haste on getting it to our table. For the price, it was actually a great sized dish. And for being a hotel restaurant—and not totally awesome ratings—the dish was surprisingly delicious! The meat was tender and tasted good, and the potatoes were to die for. Totally recommend.

Phenomenal experience overall. Service was very friendly and accommodating. Most of the entree menu can be modified to be GF, and the server ensured that it was. My BBQ platter (with cornbread and Mac and cheese) was really good, but the chicken was a bit dry. My wife loved her wedge salad and shrimp & grits. A great meal during our stay at the hotel.

My server, MaKenna, kept me supplied with fresh coffee, orange juice, and phenomenal service! I was seated quickly. My table was clean with a great view. The seating was firm and comfortable. The buffet is always a great choice. The food was warm and hygienic in lidded stainless steel warming pans. Each dish was clearly labeled. The bacon perfectly crisped, the potatoes seasoned to perfection, scrambled eggs light & fluffy. Honeydew melon, strawberries, and cubes of pineapple naturally sweet. Well worth the cost!

Upscale restaurant attached to the very nice Loews Hotel. I came to The Stillwell for a birthday dinner with friends and I was thoroughly impressed with my meal and experience. The space has very tall ceilings with floor to ceiling windows to look out at downtown KC. Our server was very professional and knowledgeable about the menu. Very upscale feel to the place with a slight exposed view of the kitchen. I ordered the KC Strip steak, the doness was really nice however the cut had some gristle, probably unlucky. I also had some charcuterie board fixings as well as a bite of the pork chop both were really good the pork chop was seasoned really well and cooked to my liking. I was impressed with this spot and would love to come back and try some other dishes!

Then there was Tyler Tyler's the best waiter. He was friendly and attentive yet not overbearing. He made suggestions and gave recommendations but allowed me to choose! I got a burn in sandwich that had a little bit of coleslaw maybe a little barbecue sauce and some fries. I ate all of the fries and 3/4 of the burnt and not because there was anything the matter with that I just couldn't eat anymore. It was delicious. . I also got a plain tea, unsweetened. I drank it. It was good! The ambiance is so smooth, light, open with beautiful views. I will go back!

Five star food, five star service, five star atmosphere!! The plates were beautiful, and very good quality, fresh ingredients and robust flavors. The gnocchi was so good I forgot to take a picture of it, best I've had in the city!! The server we had was fantastic! She understood the vibe of the girls night we were having and played along! Beautiful views of the city!! If it wasn't so windy we would have gone out on the upper patio, great way to watch the sunset! Kitchen was open and loved the quiet hustle they put into all their stations to create such wonderful food The drink list is vast and has tons of options for anyone's preferences. Will be coming back again, and again.

Decent restaurant in lobby of the loews hotel. Upscale vibe. Service was pretty good during lunch. Burnt end sandwich was okay. Meat was somewhat tough and chewy but flavor was okay. Goat cheese appetizer was very good but bread could have been a little crispier. Overall a pretty good meal.

Great spot to meet some friends for a view and a bottle of wine! The service & appetizers at Stilwell really stood out to me. The bread, butter, cheese, charcuterie, salad ... Great for table sharing! Went with the pork and beans entree and I wasn't overly in love with it. But the wine was chilled and the company couldn't have been better!

We had a pretty good dinner here before a show at the Kauffman Center. The best thing about the restaurant is the impressive view of downtown. I would definitely pick a seat looking at the city if I were going to eat here again. The restaurant itself is a pretty spot in such a new hotel. The tables are nice and the seats are comfortable. We got started with a charcuterie board and found it to be pretty tasty. There was a nice assortment of meats, cheeses, fruits, and some bread among other things. For a main I tried the Caesar salad and wasn't super impressed. The chicken was cooked good but I didn't love the salad itself. I would prefer the salad to be cut up and with dressing evenly spread on it. Instead, they serve it with long slices of lettuce with a single line of dressing and cheese. Not a super great salad but maybe I just ordered wrong.

We were waiting for our reservation at 1587 Prime and decided to swing by for a cocktail. It was a gorgeous bar, great dirty martini, and the bartenders were decently kind. We tried a few drinks and every one was better than the last. As for service - it was good, but the bar was very busy and it was late. We will definitely go back.

The very modern interior space is very open with a lot of windows with nice views. Service was very good and food was serviced quickly and piping hot. As for the food, the warm bread with garlic butter was good but maybe a little dense. The BBQ platter was all well seasoned and flavorful but the ribs were a little on the tough/chewy side. The burnt ends and BBQ chicken were both very good though. The fried chicken was seasoned well and was overall good but not great. Both main courses had Mac and cheese which was very good.

The Stilwell Restaurant is located in the lobby level of the Loews Hotel. Breakfast is served here at the hotel. The menu has good variety, and a buffet omlette bar are also good options. The coffee is premium, and the staff is attentive during the meal. I highly recommend the Kansas City Benedict with tri-tip instead of using Canadian Bacon.

We came here for New Year's Eve dinner without knowing anything about this place, including the reviews. We had just got back from Mexico City and had enjoyed some top notch restaurants there, including one that my globe-trotting cousin had put in a reservation for us the week before, which was outstanding to the extent I didn't think we could find something comparable here. Alas, we did unbeknownst to us. We were kindly greeted at the door and showed to our seating area. The waitress was bubbly and suggested the special that night, which I am glad we did. It was scallops, a horseradish encrusted fillet, and seared vegetables that were pretty amazing. In all, I'd felt that we had the caliber food we would have found in Polanco zone in Mexico City, and the dinner was such a pleasant way to end the year well. Additionally, it was neat watching the kitchen skirt around and keep busy, rather entertaining. We enjoyed a desert too that was Chai Cheesecake. I'd never heard of a cheesecake combination such as this, but it was good too.

To say I was underwhelmed is probably the best summation. My sister was so excited to come here and I will say the space is beautiful and the vibes of the lobby and lobby bar are great. We sat in the restaurant. Service was extremely slow. We easily had 1.5 hours in our timeline for dinner and we were cutting it so close! My cocktail was unique and delicious - some pistachio thing. For $18 it should be unique and delicious. Next we ordered the fried mushrooms. They are oyster mushrooms and pretty dry and flavorless. Then I ordered the tomato basil soup. It was SPICY???!!?? Since when is tomato basil soup ever spicy?? And the menu did not reflect that it was spicy, which since that would be a twist on the classic you would think they would put in the description. I had to send it back. The waitress did say someone else mentioned it was rather spicy but they were able to eat it. She agreed to bring me a half a wedge salad with chicken. And it was good but it was just a wedge salad so nothing special. I may come back and sit in the bar. I think they have a more casual menu and like I said the vibes out there seemed great. I do not think I would come back to the restaurant. There are just too many really great places in KC to come back for 3 stars.

Never got to eat here we drove there because we looked at the reviews and it said it was good but when we got there, they had about 10 tables open, but the receptionist girl said there was a two hour wait I looked inside again and I said why all the tables empty she did not have an answer for me so since we have to head to the airport in a few hours, we don't have time to wait two or three hours for a table especially when half the restaurants empty. So I can't recommend going there because the same thing and waste your time driving to this restaurant so unless you're staying in that hotel and it's not an inconvenience I wouldn't bother going.

What a great restaurant and a great location! We went to The Stilwell for my birthday dinner (HBD to me!). The service was excellent as was the view! We had a cornerish table overlooking the city, which was lovely. Family style appetizers is always a favorite of mine. We tried the goat cheese (delicious), the house made bread (honestly so simple but highly recommend), and the charcuterie. We got a variety of entrees including the kc strip, shrimp & grits, and the gnocchi. Lovely spot! Will plan to visit again.

The views in this restaurant are immaculate and the food is above average too, come for the views and stay for food! If you think of hotel restaurants usually subpar service and alright food comes to mind, The Stilwell turns that on its head. They take pride in both. The oysters were from Delaware and were ginormous as well as, fresh and briny. The salmon was cooked medium, like I asked. It wasn't dry and the accompaniments didn't feel like an afterthought. The orzo pilaf was tender and flavorful. But, one of the absolute standouts of this meal was dessert and I'm not a sweets person. If you order the cobbler it will arrive at your table piping hot in a mini cast iron skillet and the crumble on top adds a nice texture to the supple berries and the cold and creamy vanilla ice cream. Even if you aren't a guest at Loews Hotel the Stilwell is still a must stop in downtown Kansas City, located very close to the Kauffman Performing Arts center with incredible night views of the KC skyline.

I was an attendee to a birthday bash held on the rooftop part of Bar Stillwell and bar area. The servers were all attentive. I ordered a mojito, strawberry, but I had to have it remade. Overall it's a nice lobby bar and very elegant experience

My husband and I had reservations here on Saturday night for our anniversary. The restaurant is very beautiful, but parts of our dinner were just so-so. We had the fresh pumpernickel bread, it was delicious. We had the Classic Caesar and the Wedge salads. They were very good. However, the BBQ platter that my husband ordered was just so-so. I ordered the gnocchi and I was very confused because although they tasted ok, it most certainly didn't look like gnocchi. They looked like green, thick pretzel bites. Our waitress was very nice, but forgot our chacuterie order, and didn't check on us very much. All in all, I think we expected more from the prices and locale. We were a bit disappointed.

Grabbed restaurant week dinner at the Stillwell. It was just ok, overall. It was BUSY in the lobby bar and it took a very long time for our drinks to arrive. My dirty martini was as delish once it arrived. We ordered from the restaurant week menu. The first course was good. The garlic cheese curds were awesome, and the beet terrine was good. The second course was overcooked. The short rib was dry, the spaghetti squash lacking in flavor. The fish was also dry, but the sauce was very good. Desserts were fine. My mom and stepdad got the wine pairing and they had to ask for the wines to go with their desserts - otherwise, they would not have arrived. For the price of restaurant week, I didn't feel the food was worth it.

I was not expecting much since this place is in a hotel, but it was a pleasant surprise how great this was. The burnt ends sandwich is just amazing, very flavorful and very filling. Service is also fantastic, everyone was courteous and prompt.

Just a great salad: lovely veggies, delicious dressing. I eat a lot of salads in a lot of places, and I really enjoyed this one. The negroni was the best I ever had, and I've had lots of them too. The service was friendly and pleasant. I was staying at the hotel, but I would go to the restaurant again, even if I was staying somewhere else.

THE STILLWELL IS AMAZING! Not only top notch food but their service is fantastic. During my stay at LOEWS we had dinner here and then went back the next morning for their gourmet breakfast buffet. I highly recommend them

This place is a great stop for a burger and beer. I always stop by the bar when I visit this hotel 2 or 3 times a year. The KC burger is high end. Nice prime cut, toasted bun? Great seasoning, melted cheese and onions. The fries are crunchy and seasoned. Nice selection of beer. I had room service including a couple beers ordered to my room. The view and ambience is pleasing. Stop by here and enjoy!

I went to the Stillwell Restaurant at the Loews hotel and it did not disappoint! Decor: the restaurant has a very swanky but relaxed feel. The bar is really well lit and the display of bottles at the bar is really cool. Food/drinks: I got the Duck Ragu and it was soo good! The duck was tender and it was layered under some pasta type thing. It was kinda like deconstructed ravioli..but waaay better! I had the Orchid drink and it had just the right amount of alcohol where you can taste it, but it's not overwhelming. The service was also good! The server was nice and super knowledgeable about the menu which really helped since it was our first time!

While staying at the Loews, I ate at the Stilwell four times, including once for dinner, once via room service, and twice for breakfast. For dinner, I ordered a three-meat "Stilwell BBQ Platter", which included Kansas City BBQ pulled ribs, smoked chicken thigh (very smoky tasting), and burnt ends. It also came with a biscuit and veggies, and I ordered a cold Boulevard wheat ale. The food was awesome! I saved half for lunch the next day (and was forewarned about the generous portion sizes by the waitress). The BBQ platter was only $30, which was a better value (and IMHO, tasted better) than the famous nearby BBQ restaurant located next to Union Station. I had the tropical carrot cheesecake, which was a little small and a little underwhelming (my only disappointment). The restaurant is open for a breakfast buffet daily for $22. This is a good value, as they have great tasking coffee, fresh-squeezed orange juice, other juices, eggs, biscuits, grits, and a few other things. They'll even make you a custom omelette! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

I'm very appreciative to The Stillwell Restaurant for how they accommodated my group on the weekend of my cousin's bachelorette party. Not only is the space incredibly beautiful, but their willingness to help when I was in a bind was amazing. In short, we had reservations at a different local spot in KC that my cousin had wanted to visit because of the view. That place made some promises that they couldn't keep, so I reached out to The Stillwell knowing that the view is lovely near the windows and it is ultimately a beautiful space and fit what we needed. Not only did The Stillwell honor the cost that we were trying to stay within, but they sat our group of 10-13 ladies at a long table near a window overlooking the highway and downtown. The drinks were great and, as suspected, the space was lovely. It was very crowded in the hotel itself, but with it being walking distance to PNL, we were able to round out our night exactly as we had hoped, despite having a wrench thrown in the plans. I look forward to coming back for a meal and will continue to speak highly of this establishment and their generosity!

WOW! This was our first stop of Restaurant Week 2024 and to be honest it set the bar way too high. I was so excited to try this menu and it definitely lived up to my expectations. We were terrified to try beef tartare but it was actually delicious! The scallops were perfectly cooked, so tender and flavorful. I wish the gnocchi had a bit more flavor. We added on the fermented potato bread because it was intriguing. I didn't get much of a fermented flavor, but oh my god the butter was incredible! I had to slather a half inch on my toast it was that good. Glad that's on the regular menu! Dessert was also super innovative - the beet cake was really delicious and I'm not really a beet lover! Service was great and on top of it. Overall this was a 10/10 experience and exactly the kind of fun dishes I love to try during Restaurant Week. Cant wait to see what they have for next year!

The Stilwell is located inside of Loews Hotel, which is a beautiful Hotel. My friends and I had made Reservations here for Restaurant Week. We wanted to try something different. We were greeted at the Hostess Stand and were seated quickly. Our Server greeted us fairly quickly and took our drink orders. We had some questions regarding the menu which she was very knowledgeable about. I chose to order the potato bread for us which was really good. The 1st course was the Amuse Bouche which was unique! For my 2nd Course I ordered mole negro which was delicious but very spicy, I probably drank 5 glasses of water during that course. My friend ordered the same and she couldn't even finish it because it was too spicy for her. My 3rd course I went with the Diver Scallops which were good. For the last course-dessert I went with the White Chocolate Bread Pudding which was good but very rich, I could not finish it. The other two ordered the pastrami short ribs with cabbage and it was delicious as well. We all 3 enjoyed our meal. Our Server checked in on us a few times, I did have to ask another person for more water during the meal. There was a lot going on in the Hotel Lobby and bar area. The KC Chiefs played that night so the Bar/lounge area was packed, there must have been something else going on(kids sports)as there were people coming down the escalators to the lobby/lounge area. I'm not sure if our Server had tables out in the bar/lounge area or if she had to go out to the bar to get drinks for guests in the Restaurant. Over all we enjoyed trying out The Stilwell but may have chosen a different restaurant since as I said there was so much going on inside of Loews.

Restaurant and bar located on the bottom level of Lowe Hotel. We stopped here for drinks while in downtown area. Beautiful liquor bottle display above the bar. Lounge style seating around the bar area. Restaurant to the right. More seating around the lobby area even more private seating with fireplace. Service was great.

Attempted to eat here for a good breakfast based on the reviews. The place was empty and the servers were too busy in a huddle to wait on anyone. Nice hostess and first class decor. Unsure on the food since they're not serving 50 minutes after opening.

Dinner and a Show! If you are a fan of "The Bear" on streaming services, ask to be seated close to the line. It was awesome to watch and hear a high functioning, BUSY kitchen! And, the service and food! Oh, my! Yes, Chef!!

I love it! I had been dreaming about a staycation at the Loews for months! My hubby finally booked us a 1 night escape. We stayed in the hotel and thoroughly enjoyed this restaurant. It's gorgeous, clean, fancy but not threatening. I have to say my non cultured eye struggled to pronounce most of the menu but it didn't affect my wonderful experience. The staff was friendly and attentive. The food was nothing short of spectacular. I had the duck ragu. It was the first time I ever had duck and it was one if the best dishes I have ever tasted. The menu changes every 3 months. That is exciting but also a bit sad as I would want the same dish over and over. I also had the Senor pumpkin to drink. Delicious. Not too sweet but sweet enough to be super yummy. Strong but didn't taste strong and just the right amount of bubbles. I want another right now. I'll be begging my hubby for another night out before the menu changes. For dessert we ordered the pumpkin swirl cheesecake. It was cool. Very small, nice presentation though. Served with caramel, whipped cream and a couple small mocha crisps (coffee beans covered in chocolate). It was underwhelming though after being blown away by the drink and entree if I'm being honest.

Very solid restaurant option inside of the Loews Hotel. Visited the Lobby Bar area vs the sit down restaurant. The open space offers several different seating options and seat yourself. As a guest of the hotel, I dined on 2 occasions. Occasion 1, a mid-day snack and libation. Old Fashioned and a Flatbread, add Pepperoni. Sliced into 6 portions this is great for sharing with another person. Very tasty and cheesy, I found this very enjoyable. Occasion 2, a late dinner. I was pleased to see that I was able to dine after 9p, on accident, and their kitchen was still open. Ceasar salad, add chicken, and side of Fries, while Mom had Shrimp n Grits. Both dishes enjoyable, but the chicken was a tad overcooked. My Mom enjoyed the creaminess of the grits, but could have been warmer. Fries were very tasty. Service was good on both days, which made for a good experience.

First class experience for an anniversary at the Stilwell. The restaurant is upscale and trendy with large open dining rooms and a huge bar area with wall to wall TV's. We had a table next to a window looking East towards the T-Mobile center- cool view. Mikeala took good care of our table and helped with some nice suggestions. I ordered the pork chop which was excellent. The salad was tasty and we ordered the skillet cookie for dessert. Be sure to have your parking ticket validated for free parking in the garage.

Came here friday night with a reservation. The restaurant is beautiful and the tables/ chairs were all impressive. We ordered the smoked peach caprese as well as the whipped goat cheese. Both were good but honestly not too special. We ordered the bbq plate, fried chicken, pan crusted halibut, and striploin. The bbq plate came with a bunch of food, way more than we expected. The fried chicken was moist and came with a sweet smoked apple sauce, hot sauce, Mac n cheese and a biscuit. The Mac n cheese portion is pretty big so definitely had plenty to share with my kid. The biscuit was perfect with their herb butter. I was extremely full after by chicken but I could not put down the biscuit. Oddly addictive. The fish was perfectly cooked and was a huge hit for my son and mom. It wasn't too salty and allowed you to appreciate the actual flavor of the fish so we appreciated that but I can see people saying it is not flavorful enough. The Striploin was a hard pass. We were expecting a nice grilled steak but we were not used to the sous vide texture. It's just way more chewy and my husband could not enjoy it however our server did warn us about the steak yet we still ordered it. Out server, Jeremy, quickly helped us and he replaced my husband's meal with the pork Chop which was super moist, soft, and perfect. My husband could not have praised it more. Overall, the food was good but not too special, but the prices were extremely reasonable. We also ordered a few cocktails and they were all really good. The service however was a perfect 10. Jeremy did an outstanding job and we were all extremely impressed with how he tried to make our dinner perfect. The manager made sure as well. We don't remember the last time service was this good. So thanks to Jeremy, we have nothing but great memories of this restaurant, and we will definitely be back.

Everything about this restaurant was absolutely amazing. So glad I finally got the chance to experience and enjoy the restaurant. The quality of the appetizers and food was a 10/10. Appetizers: For appetizers, my friends and I ordered the oysters (not pictured) and a raspberry or strawberry goat cheese spread that came with whole grain bread (not pictured). I forgot to take pictures of the appetizers, but just know that I was not disappointed. I'm normally not a goat cheese type of person, but their goat cheese spread was so good. The goat cheese was creamy, easily spreadable on the bread and was paired so well with the raspberry or strawberry jam. The oysters we ordered had 3 variety of sauces to choose from. It came with a horseradish creamy sauce, cucumber tabasco green sauce and a house made hot sauce. Their house made hot sauce was phenomenal. Entree: I ordered the pan crusted corvina dish which was one of their popular dishes from restaurant week. The pan crusted corvina fish tasted amazing and it left your mouth watering and wanting more of each bite. They decided to include that dish on their main menu and I'm so glad they did. I'm also so glad that the waitress recommended that dish as well. The fish was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. My dish also came with seasoned quinoa, acorn squash and a pork fat sauce/spread. Setting: I absolutely loved the setting and vibe of the restaurant. The ambient lighting gave me cozy warm vibes and where our table was at we were able to see bits of downtown. Our waitress was also so sweet and so helpful. She gave us suggestions on food and drinks and made my group of friends and I feel welcomed. My friends and I had such a wonderful experience. I also love the opened concept of the kitchen! The layout of the restaurant was so nice. Bar: The opened bar was definitely aesthetically pleasing to the eye. It's located outside of the restaurant and that is the first thing you see before you enter the restaurant. I loved the concept and details of the lighting and vibe. It was definitely busy though! At the bar they also offer appetizers for you to order as well. The other cool thing about this place is that there are a couple of rooms with sofas where you can bring your drinks and lounge with your friends. They also offered tables and booths outside of the bar but I believe those are first come first serve. Location/parking: They offer valet parking and a parking garage. Love parking garages because they make life so much easier. The parking garage is next to the hotel then afterwards you'll take the elevator to get into the restaurant. I highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be coming back!

I've heard nothing but raves about the Stilwell Restaurant in the new Lowes Hotel in downtown Kansas City. It finally opened in March of this year given the pandemic, but it packed a wow on our first visit. We were so pleased we're coming back next weekend for a second meal. It has been challenging to get a reservation for the weekend on Tock. So plan ahead. I called the restaurant on a Saturday afternoon and spoke with Mercedes, one of the hostesses. She took our contact info if a table opened up. We lucked out and got a table at 8pm. Lindsay, our server, was first class and we enjoyed her help so much that we've requested her for next weekend. The menu is designed for family style sharing. So order up. The Lowes has an amazing lobby and toward the north side is their spectacular bar overlooking downtown. Right next to it is The Stilwell. The restaurant is named after The Stilwell Oyster Car that transported Gulf oysters by rail back in the day to Kansas City. The dining room is spacious and beautiful. Chef Patrick LeBeau comes from Chicago where he was the chef at NoMI. He's done a masterful job of incorporating Kansas City flavors to the farm-to-table cuisine. For starters you must try the Prosciutto "Drop" Biscuits with the smoked blue cheese butter. Decadent. Next was the Beef Tartare with smoked onion aioli and served with house-made chips. After the biscuits, our favorites were the Shrimp & Grits, Pork Belly and the Smoked Beet Agnolotti. The grits had a delicious spicy pan sauce and the pork featured a Korean bbq sauce. We were told the Farrar Family Farms Fried Chicken was the signature to order. We found it to be somewhat dry and not up to our expectations. It's served with truffle mac & cheese. Because we had limited time at our table, we didn't get to try dessert, but that can wait for our next visit. It you want to wow someone, this is the new dining spot to visit.

Waiter very pleasant. Food was very slow to come to table. Disorganized. Food was acceptable but would not recommend overall. Nice location and works for the hotel. Breakfast was better, do that for your hotel meal if you're staying there.

What a view!! We went for our anniversary, it was perfect spot for the occasion. Food was great, we both finished our pork chop and halibut. Staff was wonderful and friendly. Inside was very modern and aesthetic. We didn't want to end the night so we continue our date at the bar that's connected to the hotel lobby.

Have you watched the hit TV show The Bear? In the show, they produce a masterpiece of a restaurant that strikes an uncanny resemblance to The Stillwell. Chef Ryan excels in professionalism, daring flavors, and an unintended dinner and show with the open-facing kitchen. The environment is so fun to be a part of. How can you beat eating a mind-melting meal around greatness? The bread and fish genuinely steal the show (the menu changes).

This restaurant has great food but it's getting two stars for a few reasons. 1. I Cant order a burger in the restaurant. They cook it in the restaurant and walk it through the restaurant and make you look at it in the restaurant but it's only available in the bar. 2. They don't have a spirits list at their bar. You have to look above the bar to see what they have. 3. No spirits list means no price list. I asked the price of two whisky's and there was confusion. I ended up with poor of whisky that was over $100. It wasn't even a 2oz pour. I fully believed the pour was $25. While the food and people and drinks are great - there is much, much opportunity for management to improve the experience.

I ordered the burnt ends sandwich and sent it back. It was horrible. Rubbery, no sauce and no real smoke to the ends. Returned and got the chicken sandwich. Over cooked with no sauce. Low expectations will serve you well here.

The Stilwell Restaurant is located inside the gorgeous Kansas City Loews Hotel and is not officially open for business. I believe it actually opens to the public in March 2021. They did, however, debut a "soft opening" for Kansas City Restaurant Week and we stopped in for dinner. Wow! Just Wow! This space is absolutely incredible! With wrap around glass windows, the space is urban, with amazing views of the downtown area. The location is incredible, just adjacent to Bartle Hall Convention Center and the Kauffman Center for Performing Arts. We enjoyed the BBQ Carrot Salad (beautifully roasted carrots with buttermilk dressing, smoked almonds, and ricotta salata) and the Potato Soup (more similar to a broccoli cheese) but still delicious. Next we each had the Parisienne Gnocchi which was a delicious vegetarian entree with butternut squash, kale, and pecorino. It was very hearty and tasty. For dessert, we ordered the S'mores Tart (a decadent chocolate tart with marshmallow ice cream). I truly cannot wait to return when the restaurant is officially open!

Great location with nice view of the downtown. Service was fast and neat. Food was all presentable and delicious. This restaurant is located inside of the Loews hotel, with modern furniture and decorations, when walking in, the bar area was really eye catching decorated with lots of wine with lighting on several levels. They require reservations for the tables on line and the bar area is for walk-in only. However, when my friends and I arrived, they did have table available, and the staff let us sit inside at the table. They were nice to remind us that every dish on the menu is shareable, and gave us advice about how much food we may consider to order. Today we had Stilwell salad, shrimp and grit, miso butter ramen, duck and chocolate cake. The shrimp and grit was best I've had so far, and the duck was great, too. Ramen was not the ramen I expected ( as an original Asian) it was more like the pasta sauce with handmade instant noodle. But the flavor was good for that ramen. Chocolate cake was a nice ending for the dinner, I could taste the mild ginger flavor of the sauce, but the sweetness eventually covers any flavor in the end. I would love it if it can be less sweetened. Overall, it won't go wrong for food and the view for the price. And it would be a great place to consider for a date or something to celebrate.

One of my friend group's favorite lobby bars in the city. Servers are always top notch and the food has a great variety of options. Once you have made your stop here and the weather allows be sure to check out the rooftop bar as well!

Great dishes made with local flavors. I tend to visit the bar outside the restaurant. Spencer is amazing and while I'm a KC local, he suggested some great dining spots I've never heard of before! Great whiskey selection and the bartenders are always friendly.

We tried Stilwell for KC restaurant week, unfortunately, they only had the restaurant week menu and did not provide for the full menu. Which we really wanted to try some things from the full menu. The potatoes are good, the rest was okay. Note, the pictures below are not any items that are currently found on the menu as this was from KC week.

The best food I've ever had in my life. I've never had a dinner experience like this in my life. We haven't done a multiple course meal like this before and weren't planning on it, but we were in town for Kasey Musgraves and this was the only place we could get reservations 3 days in advance, but man am I happy we found it. Easy to miss maybe because it is inside the hotel, but don't let that push you away from this! It was KC Food Lovers Week so they were only doing the 3 course meal option, but AMAZING to say the least!
