The Stockpot - Review - Downtown - Norfolk - The Infatuation

"You could eat at The Stockpot a dozen delicious and deeply satisfying times before catching on to the fact that they brand themselves as “modern healthy comfort food.” The menu goes in a lot of different directions, don’t be surprised if Fattoush Salad, Huevos Rancheros, Kimchi Fried Rice, and Blueberry Cheesecake French Toast all end up on the table. Nothing here tastes like a healthy compromise, making this downtown brunch and lunch spot a versatile crowd pleaser. It’s equally ideal for an indulgent, celebratory brunch or a cozy, affordable catch up with a friend. The Stockpot’s biggest fault is it’s not open for dinner every day." - Alicia Camden

Incredible! Highly Recommend Norfolk, VA The Stockpot at 215 E Plume St. Wonderful outdoor views too. Unique experience due to singular taste of food & coffee & the servers, Lauren & Julie. Lauren took my order & Julie came by my table to check on me-both so personable & helpful! I asked Lauren for order suggestions & she really knows the menu! Next visit, trying one of your desserts! Thank you!

Longish wait (arrived around 10:40 didn’t get seated until 11:17 on Saturday). They gave us a buzzer and we got to shop around which was nice. When we did get seated, they were quick to take our order. Appetizer came out quickly, I just ordered a soup and my mother ordered a salad. My soup came out first, we waited a while for the salad but ended up cancelling it because my mother had become full off of the appetizer. They explained that it was taking longer than usual to cook the chicken, they took the salad off of the order and even gave us a free pastry to make up for it. Really nice servers.

It's all very fresh and innovative. I had a gluten free bowl with pork carnitas, greens, pico, avocado, beans, corn, and tortilla strips. It has just a little kick to it from a sauce, not overpowering, just enough. My partner had the Belgian waffles with their freshly made sausage patty. No complaints there! And she can be picky. 😂 The servers were very nice and helpful. They sell t-shirts and sweatshirt that, if we had more time (we are traveling through and only found them via a Google search) I would have for sure checked out. I would have went home with one! And, it is a cute place inside of an artsy indoor plaza. We didn't have time to investigate the shops. I did notice small bistro tables down the center with a chess set, art supplies, and such for the public to entertain themselves. It all added to the overall vibe. One cool thing to add is The Stockpot seems to select one menu item to donate a portion of sales from to a charity. The selection changes. It was huevos rancheros this time.

We had a fantastic experience at Stockpot! We were in town for an appointment and stopped in for brunch. Our server, Maddie, was very helpful - sharing with us about the restaurant, dietary options and selection for our meals. Would highly recommend the Gyro. It was incredibly memorable and delicious. Also mimosa monday = $4 mimosas!

What a wonderful little restaurant we found at the Selden Market. The menu is fresh and plentiful. I had the OG Fried Rice with carnitas. My daughter had the lamb gyro. Absolutely delicious. 😋 Lydia, our server, was like a breath of fresh air. She told us all about the menu and drink menu. She is an asset to this business. We will definitely try this restaurant again for other items on the menu.

So much to love about the Stockpot!! Food is always fresh, I love that there are vegan options when I go with my vegan friend. they always are very creative with their mimosa flights and I get one every time! Love the creativity!! The breakfast waffle is so tasty, but I always get the egg scramble which is packed with ingredients and the arugula salad on the side is always fresh and the dressing is light and tasty. The house made desserts are eye catching and tempting every single time!! New Chesapeake location has my vote too… Excellent place for brunch, interesting food, awesome cocktails!

Unfortunately, I missed the mimosa special that ended at 10am. I looked it up on a whim and decided to go based on the reviews, but it didn’t live up to the hype. I ordered the gyro, my fiancé had the chicken salad toast, and our toddler had a Belgian waffle with cantaloupe. The food tasted fine, but the portion sizes were really underwhelming — we all left hungry, even our two-year-old wanted more to eat. There are some healthy options, which I appreciate, but the lack of non-pork choices really limited what I could order. Our server mentioned they recently removed turkey sausage/ bacon from the menu but didn’t know why, which was disappointing. Overall, it just didn’t hit the mark for us — small portions, limited menu options, and nothing that really made me want to come back.

Interesting place with generally healthy selections. My Advicado toast was excellent with LOTS of guacamole. The tropical smoothie was delicious. Service was fast and friendly
