The Stockyard Restaurant

Our new favorite local spot! We’ve probably visited Stockyard 6 or 7 times this year. We’ve done a couple of proper steak dinners (fantastic) but we usually go for drinks and French dip sandwiches. Honestly, all of the food here is good. And I love the vibe - unpretentious and as casual or fancy as you want it to be. It feels like a local gathering spot and we always have a good time. Thank you for being an approachable steakhouse right in the city

There are the best clam chowder in Boston for me. I’ve been in this place millions of times. The taste is always good. I also recommend baby back ribs it comes with French fries and Cole slow. Also I recommend steak tips and Manhattan cocktail, margarita is also good. Sometimes taste is less delicious sometimes more. I recommend this place. Oysters are also cool here.

Unbelievable meal good price and our bartender/server. Michelle was outstanding will definitely be back. I can’t believe I’ve driven by Here 10000 times and never stopped in. Great spot to stop before a show at roadrunner

Surprisingly solid local steakhouse with generous portions and well-executed classics. Came here for dinner with a colleague on a Saturday night. From the outside, it looked like just another casual steak-and-beer spot, but we were both craving something that fell somewhere between Texas Roadhouse and the high-end steakhouse chains. This ended up being the perfect middle ground. The place was packed, likely with graduation weekend families. But we were still able to snag a booth with a reservation. Service was friendly, though a bit stretched. We ordered the crab cake to start, but they forgot to bring it out, and we only remembered halfway through our steaks. Mildly disappointing, but honestly, the mains more than made up for it. Their specialty prime rib was my favorite. An enormous cut for just $48. Haven’t had one this good since I left North Carolina, and it brought back all the good memories. The Tomahawk was advertised as 42-day aged. While I didn’t notice much depth from the aging (possibly because we ordered it rare), it was still a well-executed, high-quality steak. Not the best I’ve had in the city, but absolutely on par with national chains like Ruth’s Chris or Del Frisco’s—and a better value. Sides were a mix. The onion rings were mediocre, but the mac and cheese and creamed spinach were both comforting and satisfying. Overall, a great neighborhood option if you’re craving steakhouse fare without the formality or the price tag of the high-end spots. Definitely exceeded expectations.

My spouse has eaten here and wanted me to try it. The bread they serve before your food comes out is fantastic. I'm not a bread person, but I at this. The top was crispy and coated with buttery garlic that was outstanding. I truly enjoyed it. The sesame toast was tasteless, not even sure why it was served together. My spouse got the oysters. Again not something I will eat, but my spouse loved them. I ordered a burger with rings from the waitresses' suggestion while my spouse got the baked 1/2 chicken. So, if you follow me, you know how many burgers I try. This was one of the worst burgers all around. It was absolutely tasteless. If you are charging me $20 for a burger, it better be good. Then you add the rings into the mix, which they bragged they make them in-house. I did not expect them to be corn meal coated. I ate one, and that was it. I'm just not a fan of rings in corn meal. I did try my spouse's meal as well. The bite of chicken I had why dry as could be. My spouse loved it. I did enjoy the mashed potatoes and asparagus. The potatoes were perfect and full of flavor. Same for the asparagus. I just wished they put as much into something so simple as a burger.

The prime rib here is to die for! Definitely worth the money. Also had creme brulee for dessert (phenomenal!)and shared bread pudding with my husband (SO good.)

Have been wanting to try this place for a while, but it's hard to get reservations during the weekend. Was finally able to come here on St. Patrick's day, and it was quite loud in here because of that, which I understood and some may enjoy that. The aged Tomahawks steak was mediocre at best, as it was crispy but also burnt on many spots of the surface. The bones also weigh a lot so it was not as much meat as we expected. On the bright side, the bread was delicious and the creamed spinach with smoked bacon was really good! If I visit it again, I'll probably go with the non-steak entrees.

My new go-to restaurant. I stopped going years ago as I felt it just wasn't working for me anymore. New owner, new Stockyard! William is a super friendly and accommodating host. My friend and I sat at the bar and were waited on by Myada (and everyone else behind the bar). We started with the fried calamari and Oysters Boom (both fabulous). The drinks were outstanding as well! We then split a sirloin which the kitchen was kind enough to slice for us, and also had the onion rings and Lyonaise Potatos. Everything was terrific! Because it was my friend's birthday, the owner comped us two drinks and desert. I love this place!! This is a terrific steakhouse without any of the snobbery. I love the decor and ambiance of the dining area and especially the huge bar. Can't wait to go back!!! Very approachable & great value!

This place is so underrated!!! From the outside, it's not much to look at. I can see people overlooking it ... as some outdated steakhouse, especially compared to the posh steakhouses downtown. However, this place is really great!!! Such a homey and welcoming vibe. The menu is pretty large ... with a variety of offerings. Prices are competitive for this type of place and THANK YOU SO MUCH for not making everything "a la carte". I hate that!!! Like whyyyyy??? It's so unnecessary!!! Do places really make more profit bu doing that ... or are they just making it unpleasant for customers for no reason??? Anywayyyyy, I usually get the ribs here. They're so tender and delicious, as well as such a good value. The French onion soup is probably the best in the area. No joke!!! This last time, we got a steak to share, which was really yummy, but the MVP of this last visit was the waffle pudding dessert. LIKE PLEASE RUN AND GO GET THIS!!! Um ... the only thing I wouldn't recommend would be the shrimp appetizer. Those things are NOT jumbo and not worth the price. Sorry not sorry The service has always been amazing. I've sat at the bar and tables. Bartenders are pretty attentive. Every time I get a table, I am served by Hannah. So not complaining cuz she is amazing!!! Wouldn't mind having her every time. P.S, their takeout is just as good as dining in. So nice to see a place be consistently amazing!!'

The Stockyard keeps going to the bitter end! First, great parking lot. It's huge. It also feels quieter, and belies how close you are to Boston. The restaurant is also huge, I think I counted three dining rooms and a huge bar. I got there on the later side, and even as people were slowly filing out the servers kept going with food and drinks. Fantastic staff! The portions were huge. My burger was delicious and well seasoned. The fries were a bit of a mix in crisp, but if I lived in the area it would have been enough for lunch the next day.

The food was delicious! I ordered my steak medium rare but it was closer to medium. The service was good as well, the waiter made sure that we were enjoying our meal at all times. Outdoor seating ambiance was nice but it is very weather dependent. Would go again :)

The Stockyard is like finding a hidden treasure on the edge of Boston--always a pleasant surprise! Stepping inside feels like stepping into a chic-embrace (is that a thing?), with the scent of delicious food welcoming you in. We snagged seats at the bar on a bustling Saturday night as we always door, where the bartenders whipped up a round cocktails that were the kicker to the meal. Service was decent, though they were hustling to keep up with the crowd. Now, let's talk lil'feast we ordered. I you bar chairs, we started with French onion soup and clam chowder was flavorful on a cold night, and the wedge salad is our goto. The main event--salmon and a "hefty" tomahawk steak--hit the spot (we're celebrating), though we could've done with a bigger cut of steak. I mean I'm no Fred Flintstones, my hero. Meh, I'm fat enough! Still, I can taste it a month later. And don't even get me started on the waffle bread pudding & chocolate cake desserts with nice decaf cappuccinos--it was heavenly! Gosh I was FULL. Despite a few minor bumps, the place was BUSY--Stockyard steak-house remains a top-notch spot for a hearty meal for us. With its cozy atmosphere (in a big room), solid food, and friendly service, it's a true local gem. We'll be back.

Went on a Tuesday night. A hostess stepped in and made good for the rude host who first greeted us. Waitstaff was amazing. We got a tomahawk that was cooked to perfection. It was truly divine with only one little issue. About a fifth of the meat was pure fat. But that fat provided the most delicious tasting meat of what was there, so we considered it a balanced take away. Mac and cheese (outstanding!) and grilled asparagus (yummy char) as sides were plentifully. Drinks were great. Dessert was a special that night of Boston Cream Pie. Get it if it's on the menu. All in all most enjoyable atmosphere, waitstaff, and scrumptious meal. Too bad that host cost them the fifth star.

Came here for my husband and my anniversary -- overall, a great dinner experience and we had a lovely night! Service was good and the ambiance was quaint. We were told this place had the best prime rib. Not sure if it was overhyped for us, but we didn't love the food we ordered for the price compared to a few other places we have in mind. We got the clam chowder, a salad, prime rib, steak tips, and key lime pie. All were decently good, but would not say they were noteworthy.

After coming back a few times, I think this place deserves 5 stars! The move is to get the 32 oz tomahawk that comes sliced and includes 2 sides. For $95 it's a great deal! The food comes out very fast and always tastes good.

Solid steakhouse! It gives very old school steakhouse vibes. We dropped in because I was craving steak and saw that they also had a large parking lot. We arrived at around 4:30pm on a Saturday and they only had bar seating available (there were a few reserved tables that had no customers and the us and other patrons that arrived with us both finished our meals before those reservations were sat - perhaps it would be a good idea to open those up to tables of 2?). There's also specials posted in the back - there was minestrone, fried clams, and Boston creme pie that day. We definitely overordered because I was hungry and underestimated the portions. Pricing was very fair - it's not as nice as other steakhouses but you get a lot of food. I'll also say service was lacking, but we were at the bar so take that with a grain of salt. It seemed like the bartenders were more interested in the regulars and often avoided us. We had to flag their attention multiple times and never had our drinks or water refilled. French onion soup - great! On the saltier side but that works for me. Good depth of flavor. Clam chowder - also fantastic! I didn't expect much but it was a satisfying cup that was rich and had good proportion of clam and potato. Wedge salad - I'm converted! I got it as a side to our steak and it was perfectly balanced. Prime rib and ribeye were cooked to medium rare - we got the bourbon peppercorn sauce. I thought it was okay but my husband enjoyed it. The house steak sauce is on the sweeter side, very barbecue-ish. The house made key lime pie had a nice tang to it - the texture seemed eggier than most. Our bill totaled to around $200. Hope to return - hopefully snagging a table would result in better service.

What I liked: - great craft beer selections on tap - a La cart ordering of fine steaks or a regular menu for the non-steak eaters like set course meals, burgers, sandwiches, etc. - fine ribs and chicken. My wife and I split an order and we agreed the ribs were cooked to perfection. The meat fell off the bone and was very moist. Same for the chicken: it was as tasty as rotisserie chicken that was taken just out of the oven. - good wine selection. - good service : Olivia was great.

Came on a Thursday for a last minute date night. I had a serious pregnancy craving for steak, and we drove across the city just to try Stockholders for the first time. Steaks are a la carte; we ordered the cuts we wanted and sides to share. There were also a lot of options for sauces and toppings (caramelized onion, bleu cheese etc) to add to the steak, but Im glad I kept mine as-is, it didn't need anything else! Perfectly medium inside and a seared crust of salty fatty goodness on the outside. Most of all, the service and atmosphere were awesome. Super polite and attentive, our server was definitely a pro. There was live music and a good sized crowd at the bar--this is not necessarily a spot for a quiet date--but a perfect place for a hearty meal and some laughs at dinner with good company.

Came here before a show at roadrunner. There are mighty few sit down and "relax" dining options in the area within walking distance. Next time I might have dinner in Waltham and then drive in for the show. Salt. They need salt. To be fair, at the bar there are salt and pepper shakers conveniently placed - I guess they realize. I use very little salt in my food but this food is pretty tasteless without it. I ordered the crab cakes. Definitely not jumbo lump- I found cartilage- and somewhat greasy. Usually steak places have great crab cakes. It came with coleslaw (tasteless without a bit of an and p) and fries (clearly the frozen type). Of course prices are the typical steakhouse- but I knew that when i came in. Service at the bar was good even though they were slammed. Plenty of regulars. Probably from wgbh nearby. There was a trio playing uninspiring covers but the restaurant din was such that they couldn't be heard unless one was sitting close by (I was). Anyway I will try not to come back here If I come to another show. But given the options.... The manhattan was good.

Stockyard is one of my favorite places in Boston! We've come the past 2 years in a row for my birthday and this time was just as good as ever. There is a massive parking lot and it's a really big place with a bunch of seating options. I got the french onion soup, filet, green beans, mac and cheese, whipped potatoes, broccoli, and a chocolate cake slice! The filet is truly one of the best in the area. It's perfectly seasoned. The french onion soup and mac and cheese were also highlights! My family all loved their meals, the service was great, and we will definitely be back to Stockyard next year!

While prices have gone up (due to inflation), the food is still top notch! Items we tried this time (as of February 2023): - Stockyard Salad - $13 - Pretty good salad. All the flavors went well together. Really enjoyed the cashews in the salad for the added texture. - Prime Rib (16oz) - $44 - Still great if you're looking for prime rib! Always my go to place when I'm craving it! - French Onion Soup (cup) - $6 - Great flavors and there's tons of cheese which is fantastic! - Steak Tips - $26 - I'm happy they didn't go overboard with the teriyaki glaze. Just the right amount. The steak tips were perfectly cooked and very tender too. Would definitely recommend. I'm happy this place survived the pandemic and is still bustling!

Haven't been here in years. Under new ownership now but the interior looks and feel the same. They had a live band when we were there. Went on a Thurs evening and it was packed. I would suggest making reservations. For appetizers, we got calamari (decent size order, enough for 3 of us), wedge salad (they were nice to split into 3 of us) and East Coast oysters (these were very disappointing, not that fresh and very small). All the apps came out very fast but took very long before our entrées came out We got full rack ribs, bone in rib eye (decent size cut but the quality and taste were lacking and it was chewy), and prime rib (not the best quality and mostly fat). Our server was great, friendly and attentive. Food is 3 star, extra star is for service Going to try the seafood next time I come.

It came here for lunch with some friends and had a really good Filet Mignon with cream spinach and mashed potatoes. It was excellent! Cooked my steak perfectly medium rare! The key lime pie for dessert was delicious probably because they made it homemade! Again, it's another place I keep passing by and say I got to check that out. After living in Boston for many years, today was the day. I'm happy I went because everything was delicious. They even had a nice jazz band trio in the background. This place is ideal for large parties too. Wouldn't mind coming here again. The only thing that prevented me giving a perfect score was the young host who had to be new because she said that our friends had already checked in and they might be at the bar. We go in and walked around in this big restaurant and find out they didn't even check in yet...she needs more training.

Stockyard has become our "special occasion" place. Last night we celebrated my husband's birthday. The service was perfect (thanks Kevin;) Seating was just right for our family plus highchair for baby and the menu choices accommodated the whole group. Prime rib, lobster pie, baby steak, sides and drinks all done perfectly. This dinner would have 2x at Cap Grille and the food and service at Stockyard was better. Lots more celebrations to come, we'll be back;)

Stockyard feels like home at this point! This place is by far the coziest and most delicious restaurants outside of Boston. Tip #1 - GET THE ESPRESSO MARTINI! Stockyard by far has my most favorite espresso martini. Trust me. A few favorites include the steak tips (so moist and flavorful), burger (good classic burger) and the crispy chicken sandwich (don't poo poo a chicken sandwich at a steak restaurant - I know I did at first and now I think it's one of the best menu items). The place is huge yet it feels intimate and cozy as mentioned. If you go during Christmas time , the restaurant is decorated BEAUTIFULLY and last Valentine's Day they gave every couple a long stemmed rose. I LOVED that extra touch!

Came here with my family for a birthday and we were very disappointed. We're huge steakhouse lovers so when we found this place on Google we were excited. Unfortunately it did not live up to the hype. The service was lackluster you could tell our waiter and the other servers were looking forward to their shifts being over. When we mentioned we were celebrating a birthday our server didn't even respond lol. The size of the tomahawk was very small compared to other steakhouses we've been to. The quality of the food did not match the high price at all. If I'm being honest we would've enjoyed a better meal at a chain steak house like Long horn or even Texas Roadhouse. The only redeeming quality about this restaurant is the ambience and overall design of the space.

The beef always cooked to perfection. The Manhattans are the best!!! Every time I am in Boston I go.

I honestly was expecting more for a steak house. We ordered the tomahawk steak and it was alot smaller than expected. We ordered this specific cut of steak from several other steak houses and this by far was the smallest i have ever had. It looked more like a bone in ribeye steak that they pre-cut (which we didn't request). We had to send the steak back due to it being well done when we requested it to be medium. And the steak was lacking in flavor. I did enjoy my drink (pomegranate martini). The service was ok, I couldn't tell if our waitress was annoyed with the day (since it was father's day and pretty busy) or annoyed with us for sending back the well done steak. As for ambiance, it was nice, there was a live band playing at some point during our time at stockyard.

Amazing!!!! Live music! Great food! Incredible service! Could not have gotten luckier with this spot!

We had dinner with my in-laws here for the first time tonight. I'd seen this place while driving in on the pike countless times and I had always been curious. The place is massive, and definitely has old school vibes. I enjoy that kind of atmosphere (especially since it's rare for restaurants in the Boston area), so I was happy right away. The food overall was decent. Excellent portions. My pork chop was cooked medium and was tender on the inside, black and crispy on the outside (just how I like it). The mac and cheese that came with it was succulent... my favorite part of the meal. The sides were decent- cooked okay, nothing special but everything was quite satisfactory. I split dessert with my husband - we ordered chocolate cake with ice cream which was also tasty, but the cake had been refrigerated. (For me room temp is best). I'd go eat here again and try some other stuff... I really wanted to dip into some clam chowder but truly I'm glad I didn't order even a cup because the portion sizes were so large. I would not have had room! We took leftovers home with us.

Undoubtedly a Boston institution and the prices are not bad, particularly compared to places in Boston proper, but the food fell a little flat. Okay, here are the pros: - Large parking lot. For someone with a phobia of having to deal with street parking (endless looping around the street, spotting an opening, wrangling the back and forth with the curb), this was a blessing. For some reason, the GPS took us around the back, but you can just turn directly off from Market Street. - Our waiter was attentive and observant (swooped in and took back the ribeye to be cut into smaller pieces we were sharing when it got brought to our table in one massive slab). Definitely a refreshing contrast to the usual surly old-school vibe at places like Luger's, Wolfgang's, etc. - For someone who doesn't eat red meat, I thought the steak was not bad. Then there are the cons: - Some of the non-steak dishes were just all right. The fried calamari needed another good blot to soak up all the oiliness. Caesar salad was mediocre, made as an afterthought with stale store-bought croutons and tired romaine (yes, yes, but a good steakhouse should be able to turn out serious salads too). The best part may have been the warm buttery rolls they bring out at the start of the meal. - The atmosphere all centers around this enormous wrap-around bar blasting the most recent Patriots vs. GB Packers game. Competing with all that stimulation was a band in full swing. Thankfully, we had a semi-private booth near the back, but just a note in case you want somewhere quieter.

We had reservations for party of 8. The Stockyard has plenty of party rooms and the expansive brick layout has been a Boston area culinary standout for decades. We were promptly seated and introduced to our waiter, Kevin. Kevin was spot on with recommendations and quick with our drinks. I ordered the 16 oz prime rib and mashed potatoes. It was perfect. My Tito's on the rocks with 3 olives was lovely in a proud rocker glass. A couple of our party ordered the filet mignon and it looked amazing. One hefty pork chop was decimated by my friend. One guy went for the veggie burger....... NOT. The carnivores ruled the Stockyard! The sides of asparagus and skillet potatoes were equally as good. Kevin was never far away and kept the drinks topped off. For apre' dinner, the coffee drinks and desserts were fat. The Key lime pie was to die for. The chocolate cake with chocolate sauce was the chocolately chocolatest chocolate that you could ever ask for. Expresso's spot on. When was the last time you were out with 10 people and every last one was 100 percent happy? Probably never. This was a home run! Of course we ended the night at the bar with a couple final finals and our designated driver got us safely back to the South Shore. Our group would like to thank Kevin for a truly wonderful night and he gave as good as he took, as we are a rough bunch of sea fairing men. Peace

I've driven by this place more times than I can count but recently had the chance to dine here. We went for my husband's birthday on a Sunday night. It wasn't overly crowded but there were people there. Service was good, food was delicious and the price point was what you would expect for a steakhouse. We enjoyed the meal and the atmosphere. The food and experience are very comparable to the chain steakhouse restaurants in the area, personally when given the choice, I would rather support a local joint. The only complaint my husband and I both had was that the char on the meat was strong, to the point of being overwhelming. Looking forward to visiting them again.

My visit to this steak restaurant was a treat for the senses. The ambiance exuded a classic steakhouse feel, and the attentive staff added to the overall experience. The steak itself was cooked to perfection, showcasing quality cuts and a mouthwatering flavor profile. Sides were well-executed, complementing the main course nicely. While it was an excellent dining experience, a touch more variety in the menu or some unique twists could elevate it to a 5-star level. Nonetheless, a solid choice for steak enthusiasts.

I love this place and this is my new hangout spot. Everything always comes out delicious. The only thing I don't like is their Mac and cheese. They portion everything out for you so it is super convenient. It is also pretty affordable.

On a business trip in the Boston area and craving some good food, my coworker and I decided on this place based on the good reviews. The overall experience was good but the food brought the rating down. The place was nice and service was good. I ordered the clam chowder, crab cake, and the salmon. Both the clam chowder and crab cake were very bland and didn't have much crab and clams. The salmon was okay but I wish it was more medium instead of well done. My coworker had the bone-in ribeye, he didn't finish it and also said the bearnaise sauce was not good. We expected better steaks from a steak house.

Stockyard is an excellent, must-try restaraunt in Boston! The location and environment of the restaraunt is fantastic and it is a great place to dine in. I always had their steak and it is very good. The appetizers are great as well and I would recommend the calamari. Service was really good here. I used to come here a few times a year when visiting my son at college. Since he graduated, we haven't been in the Boston area but we still remember our trips to Stockyard. I cannot recommend this place enough.

My son made reservations for 730 , we arrived with our party of 4 at 720. The male greeter, actually told us to Come back k in 15 minutes! It was quiet, but I felt he was rude he was letting others in who he apparently knew. We finally get seated, the waitress was very sweet. The food was okay,the tomahawk steak was a shock, sliced beef with a bone, totally not as a tomahawk is to be. Not enough meat for two as described. Rib eye meal was okay, but not hot , Lobster pie was fine. Food was cool. Not hot . Fried clams, were tasty but only 12 clams over a mountain of fries. Rolls and crème brulle was delicious. I would never go back.

Omg, Stockyard serves the best prime rib ever! Tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor, every bite is a delight. The expertly cooked meat is a carnivore's dream come true. From the first slice to the last, it's a dining experience that's hard to forget. A must-visit for any steak enthusiast. After writing this review I am going back for seconds.

I have dined at The Stockyard often and enjoyed much of their menu. My personal favorite is the filet mignon club. So delicious. And the dinner rolls, when fresh from the oven, are heavenly. The decor and ambiance are great as well. I love all of the old bricks and dark wood. The servers and bartenders have always been super friendly.

My husband and I went to The Stockyard for the first time back in 2015 and we had a very good meal with a great waitress. We live in Waltham and have been going out to eat at many different restaurants for 20 years. We went to The Stockyard again around 2019 and found it to have gone down hill, lousy overpriced steak and the music was incredibly loud. I didn't want to return at that point. We were in the area recently, 2024, so we decided to try it again, ughh, what a waste of money!! The host staff out front were wearing jeans and very immature except for the young women who sat us was very pleasant but wearing jeans. Our waitress was also very pleasant but kind of unkept as well as another waitress. I ordered a filet mignon ($52) and the steamed broccoli ($8). The broccoli came out looking nasty, I guess it was overcooked. Had it sent back for another side. The filet was nothing special. Waitress didn't ask us how was the meal and if she did I would have let her know the truth. She probably already knew. I've much better filets and steaks at Grassfields and Jimmy's Steerhouse among other places that were for far cheaper with a much nicer atmosphere. My husband had the Prime NY Strip also $52 and he said his was ok. We didn't order alcohol or deserts and our bill with tip came to almost $200. This was the worst meal I can remember having in a very long time. The bar area also made the restaurant look like a sports bar with some noisy dive bar looking people who cheapened the restaurant more. I don't understand the good reviews, I guess we are more jaded and expect more from a restaurant that charges that much. We won't be returning, to say the least.

This place rocks. Classic Boston steak house vibe. Good for a nice date night or a casual time at the bar. The New York strip is excellent and they have a legit worthwhile rewards program. Soups are also great.

Hadn't been here since my bachelor party in 1990... but it's still the same old place even with a new owner! Amazing prime rib, ridiculously good French onion soup, amazing atmosphere, just like I remember.. but a lot less smokey than the 1980s! Great service, nice people, definitely a wonderful authentic steak house experience. Skip the chains (Morton's, Ruth Chris, etc), have your special dinner here. Trust me.

I'm embarrassed to say the only picture we took was of chocolate cake, but we had an outstanding dinner at The Stockyard. We tried everything from salads, to soups, to sandwiches and steaks. One of our party had the steak tips which he referred to as "maybe the best steak tips I've ever had". Service was excellent and that dessert menu! We wanted everything.

Can't go too wrong with a place known for good steak! Had a great time and enjoyed the service.

Had not been to stockyard in years. The place was packed. The service was slow. I got the French onion soup it was good. And i got the salmon which was good as well . Nothing was great. It is a steak house and i did not order meat. my friends got the steak tips and a burger, and they seemed happy.

Hands down the best since I was a baby. I'm 56 now the service is great I think we bonded over me not necessarily their demographic but they've always been respectful bless the stockyard Restaurant!

Best environment ever. We keep going back. Such a classic place. Kind of old school. Friendly service. Always warm and cozy. Lots of seating. Amazing steak & mashed potatoes.

Food is so bad. Can't cook a steak to temperature, which I think would be most important...

Tried this restaurant for the first time yesterday and it was so good! I ordered the prime rib with green beans and whipped potatoes and the meal was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. The atmosphere and service are top notch and I will be making another trip back in the very near future. Definitely worth the over hour drive from CT.

Looking for a place for a kind of special occasion, we found the Stockyard. The main criteria was MEAT and they have it. Made an online reservation for Saturday night 'cause prime rib. They have a huge parking lot which is a plus. Offered outdoor dining on what looked like picnic tables which is not exactly what we're looking for when out for a steak dinner. After checking int he hostess offered us a bar "table". Seriously? With a reservation (and open tables) you offer us bar seating?!?. I almost walked out. We declined and asked for a proper table, which they gave us. Decor is pretty steakhousey with leather booths and wasn't too fancy. Server came by with water and rolls which were delicious. Menu has lots of great options. For appetizers we chose the steak and cheese spring rolls and crab cakes. Also the clam chowder and the French onion soup. The print rolls and crab cake were good. The clam chowder was meh. Bland. The French onion was very good. Lots of cheese and not too salty. Min courses were 2 prime ribs, 1 New York Strip steak and the pork chop. This is where Sotckyard shines. Everything was cooked just right. The meats were all tender and juicy. We came for MEAT and the Stockyard delivered. For a nice, expensive steakhouse, the service was just OK. Reminded me of the service at a mid-tier restaurant, not a fancy one. For the price (and tip) I expected better.

We came here a couple weeks ago and had an amazing meal!!! We enjoyed it so much we came back this weekend. Unfortuanlty this time it was terrible and not sure why, it was not crowded for a Saturday at 1:30pm. Normally we get steaks and burgers. The first time as said, Amazing. But today, the meals were average at best and my meal was shrimp and scallops I know food costs are high and I know seafood costs but seriously 3 scallops and 3 medium shrimp for $32!! My daughters meal was so bad we had to send it back. I wish I had the guts to tell them how overpriced and under whelming my meal was. ( The shrimp had no flavor and dry) the scallops were good but I feel like we paid $32 for 3 scallops! If we go back sticking with the steak which I guess was my mis"steak" for not ordering in the first place! First picture was our meal we enjoyed our first time. Second picture was todays meal and we were so disappointed! :-(

Solid place for red meat and heart stopping (cardiac wise) dining. Not something one should be doing obviously health wise or environmentally--BUT once in a long while...the prime rib is calling you. After a long hard day and paired with a nice glass of red, certainly makes life much more bearable! Staff is friendly and they get packed so we winded up enjoying our meal at the bar in front of sports TV. Note they also have a small outdoor space with tables and private dining room for functions.
